Buffy stuff. Open to everyone now.

It's Over!

Postby BytrSuite » Tue May 20, 2003 12:08 am

I am so freaking glad this show is over.

Heh, this thread is to express general gladness that the mess that is the show Buffy: The Vampire Slayer is over. And, ooh, pretty party background and a kickass new banner.

I am so glad this motherfucking piece of shit show is OVER.

My dog's ass is really tired from writing this season and he's ready for some well-deserved rest.

That's an excellent banner. I love it. :lol Perfect.

(Yes, we know the countdown thingy is off. But we can't fix it just yet. Hopefully soon.)

It's not over here in Australia yet, but I'm jumping on the bus for the fun.

Now, time to find some other distraction in life.

I love the balloons and streamers here. The UK has a little longer to go but that's ok, 'cos I never set an eye on season 7 so I'll party with all the kittens today!

Is there anything being sent to ME as a condolence?!! Something suitably Kitten-like seeing as they showed us all such sympathy when we lost someone dear? (Something akin to a picture of Willow and Tara and the loss of the spin off that had a guaranteed audience?) I'd like to think their fax machines were running overtime today with pictures of Tara!!

Well someone's been having fun with the party decorations. A part of me wishes I had a phone number for ME, I'd give them a call and just miaow down the line .A year later and this board is still gaining new members, do you think that's true anywhere else?

Love the decorations!

Did the mods do this themselves, or was magic involved?

I was going to say that I'll miss Willow, but then I've been missing her for quite some time now. I'll be glad to see the zombie versions of characters I once loved finally put down and out of our respective misery.

I am so glad this is over. You don't know how hard is to moderate and read about a show you despise. It has been a lesson for me. Usually when something like this happens I look away and never turn back. My instincts would have been to never hear another word about this show even including w/t. It was very hard to stick around and continue this board and then season 7 for the sake of people who had no place to complain (though god every place is looking like that now ;) ). And after reading things and seeing pictures I NEVER wanted to see, it's finally over. I am unhappy that there are still possibilities for NW to appear in the future, for the most part it is done and the weekly grind is over.. it's over.. it's over and I could not be happier.

Will I miss the show? I have mourned for a show I loved over a year. I've long ago dealt with losing something I loved.

I am so happy that this day is here, that this nasty fucking piece of shit is done. The show that I loved and the show that was once good, died two years ago on the WB and this abomination is finally over. I will be forever grateful to Amber Benson for turning Joss down to come back as the first, the best career move she ever made.

So since this is a happy day, of course it's time to break out the big red fonts...

Wow, for a moment I thought I'd gone to the wrong page when I saw all the happy decorations and stuff. I'm glad to see everything is so festive.

I'm just really tired, and really glad it's over. There were a lot of times when I thought this day would never come.

But it did.

Buffy will soon be gone, but we're still here. We win. :grin

I don't know.

If I can wax geeky (why start now?) I feel a bit like Elric at the end of his last battle in "Stormbringer"; Beaten, broken, all the people he loves dead.

"Did I hear you say that this is victory?" as Blue Öyster Cult put it.

At least tonight we won't be the ones wailing.

We won't be sad, but I am finding little to be happy about.

Ask tomorrow when the ratings come in. I am glad it is over, but I am sad that in the end it is not Tara with Willow. I am sad that other still don't get it. I am sad that something so good went so bad so quickly.

Yeah it's over and I'm so happy but at the same time so bloody angry and sad. Sky are showing season one re-runs and I remember how much I loved it. How much I loved the characters (and isn't baby Aly so cute) and I can't believe the hatred I feel for the show now. I wish all the actors well:bigkiss .

I'm also glas it's over and I hope that Buffy, Joss and marti are all soon forgotten. In the end, they didn't do much worth remembering except let Amber and Aly give us Willow/Tara.

Well as someone said in an earlier post it isn't quite over yet here in Australia but as far as I am concerned it is. Even yesterday a collegue at work who I know is a Buffy fan, mentioned that it was getting and I quote "interesting". She then commented that I probably already knew how it ended since she knows I read the spoilers etc. My answer to her was "if I told you you'd probably fall asleep"

I can only echo what many have said before that I am glad it's over and sad that it had to end this way. Again like many others have said when I see older episodes they highlight just how bad the show has gotten. The saddest part is that it could have been avoided.

Anyway, this post has gone on long enough, so I just want to wish all the actors well in their future endeavours and hope that someone will go out and buy Joss Whedon a clue.

and forever!

Tiggrscorpio that isn't strictly true. There was a good show called 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' for five years on Wb. Then there was a terrible show 'Buffy the Vampires Layer' on UPN for two years. It's easy to confuse the two.:)

Willow: ...I have to tell you....

Tara: No, I understand you have to be with the person you l-love

Willow: I am

I like the festive atmosphere here. :dance

Only 3 hours left here on the East Coast before it's finally over for me. :applause I will miss the show that once gave me a wonderful, caring, and honest look at the relationship two women can have. I won't miss the disaster it became when it stripped that wonderful relationship out from under me for no good fucking reason.

I'm just glad that I can still have :willow and :tara smoochies and sweet goodness here. And I want thank the mods for creating and maintaining an incredible community. Even through all the hardship.

Hello Kittens-

Bob is right, we did win. Buffy is about to be gone and yet W/T live on here. I just wish victory hadn't been needed.

At least we have a tomorrow, because we have Pens. As some observant Kitten said "Tara's alive, she just has new writers."

Bye, Buffy, it was great once.

S7 musings

Postby Still Waters Run Deep » Tue May 20, 2003 3:20 pm

Like WWarlock I have mixed feelings about the impending [in the UK] end to BtVS.

Unlike many of the Kittens I have watched S7 and regardless of what happened in Seeing Red.... the season has been very very ordinary. I cannot think of a single eppy that I would want to see again. at least S6 had a few standouts, OMWF, TR and Life Serial spring to mind, and maybe Normal Again. But this season? no.

So am I bitter at Joss and ME. Yes, for all the reasons we have discussed at length over the last year, but also because he threw out a golden opportunity to do something positive on TV.

Will I ever forgive him? Only if there is a W/T spin off. who knows it might just happen. OK pigs may also fly. But I have to be an optimist.

Until then I have 5 seasons of pure unaldulterated joy that was the 'original' accept-no-substitutes BtVS on tape, and when I can afford it - DVD

To the cast and crew of BtVS, Goodbye and Thanks.

To Joss and ME.... go away and think long and hard about your futures.

love and kisses

Buffy's gone, but we've still got Willow and Tara

Postby stereo33 » Tue May 20, 2003 3:49 pm

Count me in :banana

I watched & loved btvs from the first episode and was beyond estatic when they introduced the willow / tara relationship. I never (ever) in a million years thought they would get it (& Buffy in general) so completely wrong, and that I would get so sad .:spin

I've been checking the season 7 board (in a peeking from behind a cushion sort of way) and kept stopping when I didn't like what I saw, (ie. pretty often). Therefore, having refused to watch S7 I have a pretty limited view of what's happened, although I am informed enough to know I made a good choice :)

Thanks to everyone who posted general info, spoilers, and moderated on S7, you've got a stronger stomach than me & told me enough to stay away :bow

At the end of the day this board (not to mention Amber's decision not to do a couple of eps of "bad Tara") has kept me going :)

So, It's officially the end of Buffy, although "unofficially" I still think it was actually Season 5 :wink I'm happy that we still have Willow and Tara, not to mention the fantastic pens board and I will always be interested in whatever Amber and Aly do next. I also wish the other cast members well with their careers and shall take great pleasure in avoiding any series by M.E. writers and of course :joss

:applause for the Kittens and :willow & :tara

Re: S7 musings

Postby Garner » Tue May 20, 2003 3:59 pm

So, Buffy is done finally! I would rejoice except I would rather this had not come to pass like this. Amber should still be on the show, it should still have the greatness it once did, and W/T should be together, now and forever. What a lousy end for what once was one fo the best shows ever, and which gave us W/T in the first place. But as Wesley said in Angel, the worst of Hell is for those who betray and Joss and ME betrayed not only the W/T fans, but their own artistic vision, the goodness that was once BtVS, and UPN. They deserve to slink out on their bellys, and in truth I think Joss needs one right in the jimmies!

In short, I wish there wasn't a reason for this thread and the new background, but given what has happened, I am SO GLAD that there will be no more cheap shots at W/T fans and any more NSSK/NW. After SR, this show needed to die and thank god it is finally done.

PS Willowlicious, awesome picture there! I loved the cats and the little kittens! Way cool!

Yes, thank God it is finally over. Now all I need to have my cake and eat it too is for Buffy to totally get it's ass kicked in the ratings. That would be a fitting tribute to the travesty of season 7...Gotta wonder what the ratings would have been like for this year if they had just brought AMBER/TARA for good. Hellavuh lot better, I'm sure...:smash

That's easy, Drusilla Lover. We sober up, get the more boisterous Kittens out of jail, and go over to Pens, possibly after making a run for the nearest border.

I'm happy for those of you who are happy. I understand and salute your feeling of accomplishment. And we all get closure (those who didn't have it long ago). :sleep

But I'm not happy, and I'm not going to pretend to be. I'm empty and sad. :( And maybe a little Biblical: "How the mighty have fallen!" (II Samuel 1:19, 25,27)

Life, by its very mortal nature, tends to be about things falling apart (as my cynical mother likes to put it "Old age does not come alone" ). Creative endeavors, too, frequently peak (often surprisingly early) and then have long, excruciating declines. That fact that these things are common---even inevitable---doesn't prompt me to cheer it (no disrespect to those who do).

For me, the reality is that a thing of great beauty, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, fell apart and died in front of me, and I was powerless to prevent that death. Yet like many a survivor, I'm left w/ a grief that has strangely illogical elements of guilt in it: the conviction that "this did not have to end like this---there had to be another way." :mad

Bah, I'm just rambling now. "The mighty have fallen" and there's no going back.

GG Providence willing, I'll have a better perspective on this ("Big Picture" as Mr. Trick would say---still w/ the Buffy references am I :sigh ), and this won't seem quite so enervating. Maybe then I can join the party . . . :spin Out
