Xita, take good care of yourself... you do an amazing job here, and balancing that with a career is not easy. Enjoy your vacation and go wild on the chocolate... you've only got one day of guilt-free chocolate-binging per year!

Movies of my youth... that IS a fun thread... but I'm young, so bear with me...
The Neverending Story fuelled my dreams for months! Willow (The movie, people... the dwarf, remember? ) was also a big hit with me, as well as The Labyrinth...

Well, have a nice week-end kittens!

Yay, this thread is totally fun. I'm so into musicals, too, Xanadu. Anyone ever seen The Threepenny Opera? It's very different from most musicals (a lot darker), but really good.
Does anyone else think Will would like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? I can see Will especially digging Willy Wonka's cool little quotes, and the fun songs in the movie. It's cute and magical. She might get worried about equal rights for the actors who played the Oompaloompas, though (which is kinda something I thought about last night when it was on tv.)
I think she'd like the musical version of Peter Pan, too. I can see her pretending she was Wendy as a little girl, imagining she was flying around and stuff. Plus, Wendy had an unrequited crush on Peter, and that's definitely Willow-Xandery.
Does anyone remember a movie called "The Worst Witch?" Thinking about old movies just made me think of that one. I was like 8 or so when I saw it first. It's kind of a Halloweeny-type movie for children.

Very cool thread idea.
I did like ET when I was a kid, or maybe its cos I was picked to renact the bike scene on a Universal Studio's tour when I was like 10.

I think my fav movie as a kid was Ferris Beullers Day Off. That movie had it all and I so wanted to be Ferris when I grew up
Top Gun runs a close second for fav kid movie, that film was so 80's and so cool. I think I was like 13 when I saw it.

Labyrinth was the first really surreal movie I remember as a kid, that and Dark Crystal. I'd bet they would be Willow fav's

And now that was my last day of work! I get a whole week off. I am going to need the time off! sigh.

Vacation? What's that? Oh, I guess you would need a job in order to go on vacation.

Well since everyone is taking a trip down memory lane, I thought I would jump right in. I would have to say I was a singing and a dancing kind of kid. "Annie", "Grease 2", (no not one lol)and later on "Dirty Dancing". I loved singing and dancing along.

I think one of Willows fav's would have to be the movie with her namesake, "Willow".

Not sure about Tara though, maybe "The Princess Bride."

*Pixie wipes away a tear* I'm so happy you all liked my question..*sniff. Pixie throws panties at everyone in appreciation* Come on, I have to keep up my reputation.

I so forgot about "Willie Wonka" and "The Princess Bride" - I loved those movies! I agree, Willow and Tara would like them too. And I think they could bond over sharing how horrible they thought the other kids were. Does anyone remember "Ladyhawke"? It was a very romantic fantasy movie starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Broderick, and Rutger Hauer. I can see both girls, but especially Tara, being entranced by it and hoping to someday meet their true love.

*Pixie skips off reciting "My name is Inigo Montoya...You killed my father...Prepare to die."*

My fave as a kid was "Yellow Submarine". (It was already old when I saw it, though! I swear!)

I love "When Night Is Falling", Owl! It's one of my faves and no one else I know has heard of it. Glad to hear I'm not the only fan. I think Tara would have snuck out of the house and seen it when she was a teenager living with her horrible brother and father.

Willow . . . hmmm. Proto computer nerd, with a mother who would have wanted her to see only "relevant" films, much to young Willow's dismay . . . I'm thinking good mindless sci-fi for her. "Tron" maybe?

Time to get back to packing all my stuff into little boxes . . .

*catches one of Pixie's panties* Whoo hoo!
I went and saw E.T. tonight with a friend who loves it. It was fun, hadn't seen it in years, so that was fun. *Elllliioottt* hee hee...

I've never seen that musical, Willowrose, maybe I'll have to check it out.

Morphine- I can't believe I forgot about Willow and The Neverending Story, I loved those movies. Just out of curiosity, have you read the book by Micheal Ende?
