I've finally updated my site to include small versions of all the art I've finished so far for the Kitty Board Book. Right now I'm working on the pic from Where The Wild Things Are with Willow's hand on Tara's knee. Next I'm going to do one of the dance at the end of Family where they are floating above the floor.

I'm glad you like them! I should hopefully have the next one up tomorrow, it's looking like it'll be really good. God, I love drawing Aly!! Her mouth is just beautiful. I think I usually do a better job with Amber. The Kiss is my favorite too, simple lines kinda make it more powerful to me. I think the simpler the image, is the more the viewer can like, identify with it in a way. Okay I'm gonna quit babbling now! LOL.

i really like the kiss, nice job with that.

it looks like you're doing these with colored pencils. i use those a lot, too. i discovered that i could do nice fills and washes using the water-soluble ones on heavy paper.

Actually, I do them in plain ol' pencil and color them in Photoshop. The technique that I use to do it has a final result that, from a computer file, is almost indestinquishable from colored pencil. I is tricky. I've been using Photoshop for about 5 years, it's taken me this long to be able to do that!

Always more to come!! I am really glad you all like my stuff. I work using screen caps for reference (in college my teachers all *really* emphasized using photo reference) and I think that really shows up with the anatomy. It's a hell of a lot easier to get stuff down when you have what you're shooting for right in front of you. I can work right from my head as well, but a lot of times it's hard to see things like textures of fabric, how clothes drape, hands (really tough for me!), lighting, etc. I haven't started the next one yet but I hope to get going on it tomorrow. I am gonna eventually put up a second gallery for my elves, they want a place to live too. This is more of my stuff that shows my progression from anime-style into more my own style, which is still anime and cartoony-influenced but getting more realistic. I talk a lot when I'm tired.

Thank youuuuu! Xita I am so glad you like the turtleneck ... she was supposed to have on the plaid .. with the shinythings on it. I love Will but not enough to draw plaid. I really like how Tara turned out, Willow could have been better. Last pic had a really good Willow and not as nice Tara, this time it's the opposite. Maybe one time I will get them both looking really nice in the same pic.

Wow, nice, very nice!

I really had the feeling when checking those drawings from top to base to see a gradual transition from a more or less anime-oriented approach, to a quite more personal style. (if intended; my compliments! )

The drawing technique really comes off to me as a typical colered pencils/marker drawing. Giving the knowledge it's not ...inpressive Photoshopskills!
