I want to thank all the wonderful kittens that leave me much cherished feedback.
More specifically

Guppy - Thanks for coming back and leaving feedback (while sober) *snicker*. Glad you liked the last two updates. I'm trying to do something that hasn't been done before, but I haven't read every fanfic out there, so if it starts looking to familiar lemmy know. In addition, glad you think I'm getting the typical Xander. Moreover, you are more than welcome for the updates! :peace

MochaVamp -
I like the way you mix action, humor, and romance!

Now, I particularly appreciate this comment because I am trying to combine all three elements. Combining all three and making the story flow is something you might see me struggle with for the next several chapters as I try to lay out a plot, or more like a series of semi-plots. Anyhow, thanks for the good feedback. :pride

Bluebird - Four brothers, oh ouch, I have one, and that was rough. Thank! Thanks for the review; I am glad you approve of "my" Willow, if you could not already tell I am a huge Willow fan. I'm glad you think I have a couple funny parts, I actually thought the canon was quite funny, so I'm trying to achieve that nice combination of mischief and danger (make any sense?). Thanks again for the support, you rock! :kitty

Taralicious - Again, you don't cease to amaze me. It's like this: I write some, you leave a review, and I feel like your review deserved a diagnostic review. You should probably invest that talent into a career. Thank you for being a wonderful reader/writer. :pride

I love this line as it is the goofy illogic of the completely smitten

you make me giggle with glee

Tara stay locked in their embrace, revelling in the euphoric and Elysian sensations of their union

I think you wrote it better than I!

You a great kitten, thanks for the thought and time you put into the replies. Your replies make me smiley.

Kimmy_s - Your replies sometimes make me laugh so hard I think I might rupture my bloody spleen. I know I've mentioned this before, but I absolutely love how you quote and reference the quotes with your reaction. I'm glad I got a giggle out of you now and then, I'm trying, and sometimes my mates don't tell me if I'm being funny or their are just laughing at me (probably the later). You are so encouraging, it really means a lot to me! Thank you!
*ruggerchica does a goofy dance, but this time changes it up a bit, with a lil twirly action* :party

Brianna - I'm glad you liked that part, I was trying to draw from canon, but with a spin in a compleatly different direction. thanks so much for letting me know you like it. It means a lot to me. :peace

Again, thanks for all that have read it and left feedback! You all rock!
Yemmy know how you like the next update, and please feel free to leave all sorts of honest feedback (even if it's not the nicest)

A Kiss of Love - Chapter 13

Postby ruggerchica » Fri Sep 22, 2006 6:09 pm

Chapter 13

Willow woke up at dawn the following morning with a pounding head ache. 'Who ran me over with a semi?' she silently mused to herself as she noticed the weight of Tara fast asleep, still sitting on her lap. She spent several minutes absorbing the blonde woman's beauty, she didn't wish to disturb the apparently peaceful sleep of her lover, but she desperately needed to use the restroom. She carefully nudged Tara who had so tenderly fallen asleep with her arms wrapped around her.

Tara opened her eyes to find emerald eyes staring back at her. She smiled weakly and looked around the magic shop. The rest of the gang were still scattered around the dimly lit shop, all apparently still asleep.

"Good morning," Willow whispered to Tara as she leaned in and placed a feather soft kiss on the blonde witch's lips.

"Good morning back at ya. Ouch! Did I get thrown into the spin cycle of a washing machine?" Tara replied as she withdrew from the kiss and started to rub her temple.

"Yeah, I feel it too, although I thought mine came from an encounter with a demonic semi-truck," Willow replied, giving Tara a lighthearted smile.

"I need to use the little girl’s room," Willow whispered sheepishly into the nearby ear.

"Oh," Tara responded, suddenly aware of her accommodations, "I s-suppose that would be easier if I got off my cozy perch?"

As Willow got out of the chair the rest of the gang started to stir. "I had the craziest dream," Xander announced as he sat up, "Oh, no, not my luck. It wasn't a dream, was it?" he asked no one in particular.

Buffy stood up and dryly replied, "Nope, just another day in Sunnydale."

"Well at least the shop didn't get trashed, again," Anya replied as she got down from the counter near the cash register where she had spent the night.

"Yes, we were incredible lucky that Tara and Willow were here…" Giles added as she stood up and brushed off the sleeves of his tan jacket.

Willow returned to the main shop floor to find the gang gathered around. "Do you think it's safe to go out there?" she asked Giles, who was feverishly cleaning his glasses.

"I suppose for now it is. There is no knowing when "they" will try it again, but for now I think it should be safe," Giles responded.

"Good, well, I guess know I have to deal with a fate worst than swarms of vampires," Willow said, getting everyone's attention.

"I have to return the car that got mangled last night to my parents," Willow said, her face turning to one of intense worry.

"I don't suppose they'll like that too much," Xander added sympathetically, knowing how the Rosenbergs would react.

The car actually started, much to their surprise, although it had thousand of dollars in damage to the side that had slammed into the wall.

Willow and Tara both got into the vehicle after saying their goodbyes to the gang and agreed to meet at the Magic Box later in the evening. Willow sat behind the steering wheel of the battered car and let out a long sigh. She dreaded confrontations with her parents, she knew how they would be disappointed and didn't look forward to the disapproving looks from her mother.

Tara, sensing Willow's anxiety, took the redhead's hand in her own and started tracing gentle circles in her palm. Willow looked over at the amazing woman beside her and forced a smile. Tara gave her the strength, as her fears started to fade away she started the car and set off for her parent's house.

---

Willow's heart was racing as she pulled into the familiar driveway. She shut the car off and was mustering the courage to get out and ring the doorbell when she saw her mother run out the front door towards her.

"Willow, honey, what happened? Are you ok?" Sheila said in an alarmed tone as she reached the car and yanked the door open.

Sheila had poked her head out of the house after hearing a car pull into the drive and had only up till now seen the damage to the windshield. "There was a terrible hail storm last night," she said, "I hope you didn't get caught in it."

"Well, actually, um, hail storm, right, well I did get caught in it, and actually kinda got into a accident," Willow replied, trying her best to sound casual, but Tara could still hear the anxiety in her voice.

"WHAT?" Sheila exclaimed as she rounded the car and took in the sight.

"Willow, I'm very, very disappointed in you. Your father and I lent you this car in trust and you've destroyed it!!!" Sheila exclaimed as she shot Willow an angry glare.

"Mom, I really can explain, it wasn't my fault!" Willow pleaded as tears swelled in her eyes.
"Did you file a police report? Did you get their insurance information?" Sheila asked as she tried to calm her nerves and steady her voice.

"Um, no, well, I didn't have an accident with another car," Willow tried to explain in vain, but her mother was turning a deaf ear in response to this further explanation.

Sheila just then noticed the other person silently sitting in the car and in a burst of anger exclaimed, "And who is this!? Another of your hooligan friends? Always getting you in trouble… every since that Summers girl moved to town…" her sentence was cut off by the look in her daughter’s eyes.

"You leave Buffy out of this," Willow said with courage and anger pouring out of her eyes. "And this is Tara, my girlfriend," Willow finished before really thinking what she was saying.

Sheila stood speechless for several seconds starting at her daughter in disbelief. Tara felt the tension in the air escalating violently as she got out of the car and carefully walked over to Willow's side, taking her hand in her own for quiet reassurance.

"No, she is not your girlfriend," Sheila replied coolly, "No daughter of mine is a lesbian. How dare you say that to hurt your mother so, and after all I've done for you, you inconsid…”

Her angry speech was suddenly interrupted by Tara, "M-Mrs. Rosenberg, your d-d-aughter d-d-id not say that you make you mad, it's true, we are in love, and the state of your car is not her fault."

All three women stood silent for what seemed like an eternity. Finally Sheila spoke in a harsh yet somewhat calmer voice, “Willow, you can't. You're our only daughter, you'd destroy your father and mine's dreams of grandchildren and plus you two can't be together, you can't even marry!"

"That is ALL not true, we can get married in Canada, England, Spain… and in fact I think I WILL marry Tara and we can adopt. I don't need your approval, so consider me gone," Willow finished, before she broke into a quiet sob and started to walk away.

Tara walked after Willow, giving her mother one last defensive glare as she reached her crying lover and enveloped her in her loving arms. "It'll be ok," she whispered to Willow reassuringly as they walked down the street.

Sheila stood in a daze, watching her only daughter walk away. Noticing how gentle and nurturing Tara was with her, she suddenly felt terrible about the entire encounter.

Chapter 13 - part 2

Tara walked Willow back to the dorms with a protective and reassuring arm around the smaller woman's shoulder. They walked mostly in silence, both women reexamining the events of that morning.

'She really wants to marry me?' Tara mused to herself as she felt her spirit start to rise, but looking at her intensely hurt lover made her heart sink back down into the pit of her stomach. 'Tara you can't be thinking of that at a time like this' she internally scolded herself.

They reached the dorm’s parking lot around noon, there was the usual lunch time crowd going on with its business, as if nothing had happened the night before. 'I wonder if these people even know how close they all were to dead?' Willow silently mused, trying everything to get her racing mind off her mother's cruel words. Her mother's words had been a cold slap on the face, her anger at the car's condition was somewhat understandable, but the way she not only refused, but also condemned the love she had for Tara was a blow Willow was not prepared to take.

"W-Willow, d-do you want to go to your room?" Tara asked politely in a near whisper.

"Yes, I would really like to shower... all that vanquishing vampires and all. I think I broke a sweat," she responded with a forced smile. Tara looked down at the ground, not knowing how to help Willow's pain.

"I don't want to be alone, would you come with me? I have some clothes you can borrow if you want to take a shower." Willow asked in a tired, but hopeful tone.

"O-of c-course I will, my love," the last words spoken in a shy whisper.

Tara could have sworn she saw the corner of Willow's mouth turn up in a faint smile at the words.

They arrived at Willow and Buffy's room to find that Buffy was gone, yet again, which was just as well. They took turns showering in the community bathrooms and lay in Willow's single bed snuggled up, Willow resting on Tara's shoulder as the blonde woman held her tight.

Tara finally spoke "Willow, if you need to talk about it, you know I'm always here for you"

"I know baby, just, not right now. Now I just want to rest, safe in your arms," Willow responded as she closed her eyes willing the thoughts out of her head.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile at the Magic Box...

A large pile of bound, ancient looking, books lay open before a focused Giles. "No, no, No it can't be. Bloody hell," he kept repeating to himself as he scanned the reference books and intently re-read the book in front of him. "I must be translating it wrong," he muttered to himself.

"What’s got your knickers in a twist now Giles? Another swarm of vampires soon?” Buffy asked shooting Giles a friendly grin. Buffy had spent most of the morning pondering the happenings of the night before. She had stayed up late into the night watching her best friend sleep with Tara curled up in her arms. The picture of Willow with Tara seemed perfectly natural to her but she still felt uneasy about not knowing, and wondered why Willow had not told her.

"Well, remember how last night, well, what Willow and Tara did?" Giles asked uncomfortably.

"Yeah, saved the day?" Buffy answered sarcastically.

Giles sighed and responded, "Yes, broke the spell, but you know how they did, when, well.. anyways... I was curious about it; it seemed to magnify their powers beyond anything I ever thought possible"

"Yessss... and that's great, cause without it, pooff, no more Sunnydale," Buffy remarked casually.

"Yes, well, I've been researching further on this so called 'Kiss of Love' and it turned out it is kind of a spell unto itself...well not exactly a spell but definitely magic," Giles explained.

"Ok, so what are you all 'Bloody helling' for then?" Buffy asked, not entirely amused with where the conversation was going.

"I'm no expert, but from what I've manage to translate, the 'Kiss of Love' is sort of a bonding ...bloody, not possible..." Giles suddenly stopped talking and immediately ran his finger down the page of his text.

"Buffy, you NEED to get this book to Tara now," Giles stood up inserted a page in the open book, closed it and handed it to Buffy. "She's probably better qualified to translate this specific language. I might be wrong about the whole thing, but you better get over there soon, just in case..."

"In case of what?" A confused Buffy replied.

"You don't want to know," Giles replied. Buffy could swear she almost saw Giles begin to smile but nonetheless took the book and headed for the dorms.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Willow and Tara were abruptly awoken by a panting Buffy entering the room. She immediately tossed the ancient text on the foot of Willow's bed. "Sorry to interrupt nap time but Giles seemed very intent on you guys seeing this now," she said rolling her eyes and flopping down on her bed.

Tara sat up and eyed the cover of the book with purpose, "I wonder.." she started.

"What is it?" Willow asked, still shaking the sleep from her worn body.

"It appears to be some sort of ancient witch's reference guide to unconventional magics" Tara replied curiously picking up the book and opening it to the indicated page.

Tara started the translating process immediately, instantly recognizing why Giles had sent over this specific volume.

"What does it say?" Willow asked as she moved to look over Tara's shoulder. "Oh, I can kind of make out what that says," she stated enthusiastically.

Tara smiled at the cheer in her lover's voice and continued in her translation.

"Ok, I'm dying to know, what is it? Giles wouldn't tell me," Buffy said as she perched on the end of her own bed.

"Well, it's in regards to this 'Kiss of Love,' which is not really a spell, but it does involve magic," Tara said, "It says that when two daughters of the goddess meet under the 'Kiss' their souls become mates"

"So you two are soul-mates? That's nice, I mean I'm so very happy for you both, but I still don't understand why Giles had me come over in such a hurry," Buffy added.

Tara's eyes grew wider as she read further down the text, She didn't want to come to the wrong conclusion, she carefully looked over at Willow who was know intently studying the text.

"What can you make of it?" Tara asked Willow.

"Um, everything you said ...oh...and here at the end I think it says once the two souls are joined with the kiss, their essence combines and they um something I don't understand and their lives combine? I don't know it's kind of hard to make out," Willow added frowning at her inability to translate perfectly.

"Well, I think this word stands for create," Tara said as she pointed to the page, "and this, physical."

Willow looked curiously at the page, completely boggled.

Tara read the page quicker than Willow and turned a deep shade of crimson as her suspicions became truths.

"What is it?" Buffy asked again curiously almost falling over the edge of her bed, trying to take a look at the book, like she would understand it if she saw it.

Willow continued her reading. "Hey, why? Wait, it seems that there is some sort of temporary spell here…to keep their lives from combining?" Willow asked no one in particular. "That word, it does mean to create? It says create life, not combine lives?"

Tara looked up at Willow with tears of joy in her eyes, "I really do think so. That's why Giles though we should know sooner, rather than later"

"Ok, hey, slayer here, out of the loop, better let me on whatever it is, or I'm going to start kicking asses," Buffy said in a humorous huff.

"You say it," Willow told Tara, as she felt her face flush to match her hair.

"I-I, w-well...I-it" Tara started, suddenly unable to make a sentence.

"Out with it, woman," Buffy insisted with a playful grin.

"Ok," Tara took a deep breath before she continued, "I-It's like, whatever happened last night bound me and Willow in an extraordinary way, allowing us to create life together." Tara had said it all in the same breath.

Buffy looked at her confused and chewed on the information for a moment. "So, you’re saying that you and Willow can, um, make babies?" Buffy hated the way that sounded, but wanted to be sure.

Tara simply nodded, "a-and there is a temporary spell that... it's basically birth control for us... so we don't ... you know...right now..." Tara said admiring her own courage at saying these things out loud.

Buffy sat on her bed with her jaw wide open and started to laugh. "Haha... well, it's only fair, we have to use birth control, so should you," she continued laughing until she was lying on her back gasping for air.

It must have been the nerves but Willow and Tara joined in laughing. The three laughed till all of them were in tears.

After the fit of giggles passed, Buffy took the text and headed back to the Magic Box, partially to give Giles the news but mostly to leave Willow and Tara to their intimately revealing moment.

As the door closed behind Buffy, Willow sprang into Tara's arms. "Oh, I love you so much baby, it's been a long day already, but this news is making me so happy that everything else is in the shadows," Willow said and then started to place a multitude of soft kisses on Tara's face.

Tara's eyes filled with tears of joy as she embraced the redhead lovingly, gently caressing the young woman's back. "I love you too baby, I love you so much that even the goddess took note."

The blonde woman slowly lowered Willow onto her back then gently brought herself to her side gazing steadfast into the hazel-green eyes that beamed with so much joy. She lowered her face to Willow's, her lips hovering less than an inch away from her lovers’. “Willow, I'm yours. Body, mind and soul," she whispered before dropping down to meet the awaiting lips.

Willow could feel the familiar bolts of pleasure course down her spine at the feel of the soft moist lips slowly dancing against her own. "Wait," Willow whispered as she reluctantly pulled herself away from the sweet lips above hers. "What if we, you know, accidentally..."

"Shhh..." Tara whispered calmly to her lover, "I didn't want to mention it in front of Buffy, but a kiss won’t conceive a child. It-it-it has to me much more," Tara explained, emphasizing the last word, as a deep blush crept up her fair cheeks.

Willow looked up at Tara curiously and cocked her head to one side like puppies do. Tara's blush deepened as she leaned close to Willow's ear and explained more graphically what she meant.

Now, it was Willow's turn to blush, after all they had only been intimate twice.

"You know," Willow said.

"No, I don't," Tara responding teasingly.

"I'm really glad we could, if we wanted to, um, you know," The red hair now matching her freckled face.

"Me too," Tara whispered into a nearby ear, "b-but until we, um, cast that 'other' spell, we should probably not…you know."

Willow nodded in silent delight, what had started as a terrible day had turned out to be one of the most wonderful days of her life. She leaned up to passionately kiss the woman above her, pouring all of her emotions into the kiss to which Tara responded to with a deep moan.

Thianne - First, thanks for the reply. :party

“aaaaaaawwwwwww! that was so cute and so sweet. i'm happy for them....even if Sheila's been the usual bitch. i hope you're planning a reconciliation...since she felt terrible about it and all. “

Yes, usual bitch is an understatement, but for the sake of Willow and Tara, she might change her attitude.

“and i absolutely loved the tenderness with which Tara treats Willow, is absolutely adorable. “

I believe that with love comes tenderness and nurture, glad you saw that in my story

“it's funny Giles' embarrassment, really how he can't even bring himself to say that they kissed - just precious!

Can’t have them come out to the gang and not make Giles embarrassed, he’s such a fun character.

“very good job, i'll be waiting for more”

Thanks, more on the way.

Dianneswillowtree – You are a loyal reader and a friend. Thanks for the constant support, even with the times get tough. :party

Thanks again for everyone that has left some feedback, I’m truly grateful for all replies, good or critical.
Please feel free to go hard on me (that kind of sounds bad), as I’m struggling to have a well developed the plot.

Chapter 14

After several hours of snuggles, smooches and napping Willow and Tara decided to head down to the Magic Box, in order to collect the ingredients needed for the special "spell".

They arrived at the shop to find that all had apparently returned to normal. Xander and Anya argued over something minimal behind the counter, Buffy was in the back room training and Giles was absorbed in some old text.

As the two young witches walked through the door Giles looked up and welcomed them. "Tara, Willow, I'm glad to see you recovered from last night. It must have been an awful amount of energy you two put into that spell."

"Oh yeah, we took a nap. Feeling much better..." Willow directed her attention to Giles after waving hello to her other friends. "Um, do you have that book you sent over with Buffy earlier? We..." she stopped her sentence as Giles pulled the book out and somewhat aggressively put it in her hands. "Yes, yes of course," he added seeming somewhat flustered.

Giles cleared his throat and took his glasses off to clean them, then turned his attention to the witches. "I um, gave Anya a list of the supplies, she's been gathering them all day," Giles said and hesitated before continuing, “However, one of the ingredients is very rare and will probably take several weeks to locate."

The women looked at each other with disappointment. Their first time had only been days before and now they were forced into celibacy by the strangest course of events. Willow leaned in and whispered into Tara's ear, "I'll figure something out. I love you, even if I could never touch you again, I would still love you." Tara rewarded Willow with a genuine smile as she tried her best at a wink.

"Giles, I would like to understand more how and why this happened. It just seems kinda…random, since neither of us tried to put a spell on ourselves." Willow reverted her attention to Giles, hoping to further understand what had happened in the last twenty-four hours.

Tara sat back down on the chair in which Willow and she had slept the night before and watched her lover chat intellectually with the watcher. 'Several weeks without touching her?' Tara thought to herself as she followed the youthful lines of her love. 'Its going to be torture,' she admitted to herself as she let her thoughts drift to the things she wished she could do to her lover.

Willow and Giles sat at the table, deep into investigative mode. Giles was still somewhat skeptical at the events of the previous evening, there were several other explanations on how the witches could have summoned that magnitude of power between them, but no other theory seemed as convincing as the so called ‘kiss of love’. He was still puzzled as to how it worked, and the curious “side effects” of the magic. In the interest of scholarly research he wished to find out why the amplification of their power granted them the ability to reproduce, but the mere thought of it made him blush.

“What do you think Giles?” Willow asked becoming slightly frustrated as she found no further answers.

“About what?” Giles asked, hoping the question was not related to the afore-mentioned “side effects”.

“Well, I understand the spell combined me and Tara’s power and then increased them exponentially, but what is all this about combining souls and creating life?” she asked, her voice growing quieter at the end of the sentence.

“Well,” the watcher nervously avoided eye contact, “from what I gather, this magic, let’s call it spell of some sort, was created by ancient sorceresses, possibly back in the Amazon days, maybe even further back than that and from what I understand it was intended to be used in defending against extreme evils.” Giles paused as he tried to chose his words. “ The, as we refer to it, “side effect” of the spell still has me a bit confused, but it must be there for a reason.”

The watcher continued on, “Perhaps it has something to do with , um, in order to conjure that sort of power the souls must bind, and as perhaps the women who created this, saw fit that two people with their souls bound in such a matter should be able to…” his words trailed off into a meager whisper, “procreate.”

“So you two gonna make some babies?” Anya walked over and interrupted causing the poor watcher to blush.

Willow shot Anya a look of amused indignation and looked over at Tara, who was sitting across the room. Tara arched her eyebrow in a lightly persuasive manner causing the redhead’s cheeks to flush a deep crimson.

Anya looked back and forth at the couple and rolled her eyes. “Well, I found everything on your list but one item. I had to send a special order out and it should be here in the next two weeks.”

Again, Willow’s face turned into silent disappointment. “Hey don’t look so down. You know how hard it is to find a chupacabra’s eye ball? They have to hunt the thing down and all, soon enough you’ll get it and you can get back to your ….”

“Anya, please,” Giles interrupted, tired of hearing about his young friends’ sex life or current lack there of.

“Well, you know, it’s only fair, now you know how us heterosexuals feel if all the stores are closed and we don’t have any of those funny shaped balloons Xander puts on his penis,” Anya said blatantly.

“ANYA!” Giles exclaimed, “I’m going home. Please close the shop,” he finished as he got up to leave.

“Well, I’m all researched out tonight. I need to get to bed,” Willow said as she closed the book in front of her and walked over to Tara. “Ready to go?”

Tara nodded, still somewhat entranced in her own thoughts.

---

The women reached the dorm parking lot and hesitated, not sure of what to do. “Um, you think we should…?” Willow started to ask before being interrupted.

“S-sleep t-together?” Tara finished the question. “Yes,” Tara boldly spoke without much thought, “I-I don’t want to be alone, and for now, all I need is your arms around me,” she finished, suddenly feeling shy about her forward approach toward Willow.

Willow nodded and smiled, glad that Tara had offered a direct answer, although knowing that two weeks without exploring her lover’s body was going to drive her completely mad. If that was the price to pay for being in the glowing presence of her soul-mate, well so be it.

---

Later on that night the couple lay in Tara’s bed, tucked comfortably under the blankets and casually embracing each other as they tried to direct their attention towards the small television set on the far side of the room.

Tara’s head rested on Willow’s narrow shoulders, her arm loosely laying on the redhead’s belly. Willow’s arms were protectively rapped around the blonde woman, gently holding her and often giving her reassuring squeezes.

The movie that was playing on the small television was getting little of their attention. With ever rise and fall of Willow’s chest Tara was becoming more aroused and she could feel the wetness in between her legs form steadily. Willow was also finding it difficult to ignore the soft skin of Tara’s arms, that her fingers were gently caressing. She was trying desperately to control her breathing, not to let Tara onto her level of excitement, but to no avail, Tara, who could easily read her lover, sensed the tension underneath her.

Willow tried to direct her attention to something else, willing herself not to think of the beautiful young woman that was not only her lover but her soul mate. She started re-capping, in her head, the events of the previous days, her thoughts finally going to her mother and the unfortunate and painful encounter. She was somewhat proud of the way she had reacted when her mother had verbally attacked her relationship and regained her smile when she looked down at Tara, whose eyes had closed.

Tara hadn’t really fallen asleep, but reverted to her own thoughts. She thought about the encounter with Willow’s mother and got a sick feeling in the pit of her gut. Her thoughts then went to Willow’s reaction at the attack on their relationship. She had not expected Willow to react as she did, almost in a explosion Willow had jumped all over her mother in defense. Her mind wandered back to what Willow had said about marriage. Had she been researching it? How did she know what places they could get legally married? She dismissed the thoughts once again, attributing Willow’s knowledge to her nerdy research habits.

Even though both witches were tired, sleep was not coming easily to them. Their continuous contact with each other, although reassuring and appreciated, was escalating their desire to explore each others’ bodies.

Tara casually slipped her hand under Willow’s loose top, feeling with the palm of her hand the soft taught skin there. Immediately Willow inhaled sharply, closing her eyes as she felt Tara’s gentle hand lovingly exploring her mid-section. ‘We can still touch,’ Willow thought to herself, ‘we just can’t finish.’ She looked down at Tara, whose beautiful blonde hair lay sprawled across her chest and gulped loudly, getting the blonde’s attention. Tara turned her head and gazed up at Willow with a questioning look. She wiggled her eyebrows at Willow as she read her lover’s mind.

“Y-you k-now that we can touch, we just can’t…” Tara blushed deeply, although she was laying on the love of her life, some things were still very hard to say.

Willow nodded knowingly, her smile growing larger as she watched Tara’s blush deepen. Tara in turn buried her face in Willow’s bosom for shelter, but soon found that wasn’t the best idea when Willow’s body involuntarily arched into the contact and she let out a moan. Tara could feel the heat being generated between their intertwined bodies.

“Wanna go to Mexico?” Willow asked between gulps of air.

“Hhm?” Tara looked up at Willow confused.

“I think I’m gonna go get me some chupacabra eyes, even if I have to find the demon myself and…” Willow stopped her sentence and started to laugh as Tara jumped out of bed and headed for her closet.

“Ok, what should I wear? Does this seem appropriate?” Tara asked, trying to keep a straight face as she held up a colorful skirt.

“You can wear nothing at all, no wait, no you can’t, cause well we might be welcoming little Tara into this world way sooner than we intended. Plus I don’t fancy anyone else seeing you like that,” Willow replied, trying to sound casual.

“W-what if it’s little Willow?” Tara replied, feeling rather strange having this conversation about children, but at the same time warm in the heart.

“Then we are in big trouble!” Willow joked, noticing Tara growing shy and hiding behind her beautiful hair.

“Come here, you,” Willow said as she offered Tara her hand, which Tara took. Willow pulled Tara down on her lap and enveloped her in her arms. The women giggled for several seconds before they caught their breaths.

“I-I l-love you, Willow,” Tara said in an earnest voice to a nearby ear. She resisted the urge to nibble on the tip of the perfectly shaped lobe and instead lowered her head down to plant a meaningful kiss on Willow’s unsuspecting lips.

Their lips parted and Willow was again left speechless. She somehow managed to mouth the words ‘I love you’ before Tara, again in an act of uncharacteristic courage took Willow’s lips in a more commanding fashion and sucked lightly. She was rewarded by something that resembled more a grunt than anything else.

Willow’s hands rose up to cup the back of the blonde’s head, pressing them both more firmly into the kiss, which was becoming more heated by the second. Their rational mind was telling them to stop, but the connection between them was getting so strong it almost seemed impossible to pull away.

Tara finally found the strength to pull away from Willow’s blissful lips. She looked down at the hazel orbs that spoke intense volumes of desire and love. “I-I’m going to go take a c-cold shower,” she whispered apologetically.

Willow watched as her blonde witch gathered her bathroom stuff and headed out the door. Part of her wanted to run down the hall after Tara, pin her against the nearest wall and take her. The more sensible side knew that Tara had made the right decision for them and she appreciated her for it, because that was one timeout Willow wouldn’t have taken.

RC,
First off, let me thank you for your kind and effusive praise for my feedback.
It is extremely gratifying for me to receive such a warm reception for my writing style and it means even more coming from someone who knows me only through the words that I write i.e, your praise is entirely spontaneous and independentt of prompting of any kind.
____________________________________________________
Secondly, I must apologize for not leaving feedback for the last several chapters but I have been busy trying to finish the novel I am writing.
It is a wholly original creation of my own devising and encompasses a number of ideas being as it is a science fiction time travel romantic comedy adventure story set in gangland Chicago in the Roaring 1920's.
The era of Jazz, bootleg liquor, and hardcore smut between the hero, very much like myself, and the showgirl heroine with the voice of an angel, very much like Amber Benson..
I told Amber when I met her again this summer at MR 2006 that I had based my heroine on her after hearing her mellifluous singing voice in OMWF and she gave me one of her bloodrushing to the nether regions smiles and laughed, asking me "just don't make her sing the high notes."
_____________________________________________________________

Right, with that said, on to feedback.
This is why alien races think humans are so poorly designed; there is no bliss so peaceful and tranquil like being wrapped up in your lover's embrace, especially after saving your race from becoming a vampire cafeteria that the need to purge bodily fluids can't interrupt.
There should be a spell in that book for a filtration system so fluids can be recycled, replenished, and evacuated without disturbing Willow from her Tara down blanket.
Willow, in the face of the intolerance and ignorance of her domineering mother, was strong as at least two or three Amazons in telling her mother straight up that Willow and Tara had options and that not every country was as Neanderthal or as Puritanical as this one in giving everyone a chance to stand in front of the person they love the most and call them their own and have that be recognized by all concerned as just as valid a union in which to live out one's days and to raise a family as any other.
Willow, thinking in pratical human terms, the only frame of reference she has access to, declares that she and Tara can adopt.
As practioners and wielders of magics and other supernatural forces beyond the ken of the cult of mediocrity, fortunately this brought Willow and Tara to the attention of those who stand outside the natural order of time and space.
Those beings who guide humanity and reward those who show aptitude and a certain humbleness in respecting each other and also are paragons of love and selfless devotion towards each other.
Willow and Tara were blessed with being the vessels for which "The Kiss of Love" manifests itself in not only binding two kindred spirits together and exponentially increasing their mutual power but also rewards their golden soul auras with the gift of transcedental completeness.
They have pledged their troths to each other and bound their souls together and by this act can actually create life to pass on that love to a child of their union.
In the words of Ira Gershwin, who could ask for anything more.
I can deny chicks in chainmail nothing.
Amberhol-from the land of sky blue waters.

Hi all, hope you all doing great, thanks to ya’ll for leaving feedback. Now more specifically:

Dianneswillowtree – Hey! As always, Thanks for the support.

Thianne – Hi, school eh? Gets in the way sometimes. Thanks for letting me know you’re still reading, and I hope school is being kind to you.

RageMore7 – Thanks for letting me know you like what you see. Sounds like a rough work schedule, are you a firefighter by any chance, that schedule reminded me of a firefighters work schedule. Days are all relative anyway right? (I think I’m going to decide that everyday is Saturday, or is should be)

Taralicious – You never cease to amaze me!!! OMG! I noticed that you said you are writing a novel, are you going to make it available to us?, or are we going to have to wait in line at Barnes & nobles with the rest of the population?, the theme to your novel really sounds interesting, I’d like the privilege to read it some day (which by the way, I would do, just simply based on your FEEDBACK).

“told Amber when I met her again this summer at MR 2006 that I had based my heroine on her after hearing her mellifluous singing voice in OMWF and she gave me one of her bloodrushing to the nether regions smiles and laughed, asking me "just don't make her sing the high notes."

And you met Amber Benson!? I’m soooo jealous, and you had a chance to actually talk to her!!!? OMG! Did you get any pics of yourself with her?. And for the record I think that Ms. Benson nails the high notes.

So, now to the actual review of the story:

“There should be a spell in that book for a filtration system so fluids can be recycled, replenished, and evacuated without disturbing Willow from her Tara down blanket.”

You crack me up!!! LOL

“They have pledged their troths to each other and bound their souls together and by this act can actually create life to pass on that love to a child of their union.”

And you’re always on the money!

“In the words of Ira Gershwin, who could ask for anything more.”

Very eloquently put! I could say the same for your feedback

You rock taralicious, just by your mini-desertions you leave me I can tell you’re a very interesting and talented person. You make my day!
Kimmy_s – don’t apologize, you have nothing to apologize for. It is true that I like to hear from my readers (who doesn’t?) but I write for myself and the readers, not for praise. I hope things get better in your life, and you have a wonderful time on holiday, as you call it (which I think is adorable). Hope to hear back from you when you get back from break.

Keops - is that name a reference to the grandest and oldest Egyptian temple in Giza? (I’m taking an appreciation of architecture class). I really want to thank you wholeheartedly for leaving a reply, I know sometimes it’s intimidating to post, but the truth is that your input is really appreciated. I love to know that there are people reading, and enjoying something I put effort into. I will continue, don’t be a stranger!

Guppy – Hey thanks for the reply, and do not apologize!. I’m glad your enjoying the “twist”, I was kinda worried that I was out of my element going into the “plot”. I know how life gets! Believe me, I hope it slows down for you. Thanks again, it means a lot to me.

Thanks again for all the replies, hope you keep enjoying yourself in and out of the board!. Good wished to all, and feel free to be critical at any point! :peace

Re: A Kiss of Love - Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Several days later...

Willow sat in her sunbathed dorm room glaring at her laptop. Life had seemingly gotten back on track, with classes attended and mochas regularly consumed. Though Willow was reluctant to admit it, she was somewhat glad to get back to the pile of homework that begged for her attention. The often frustrating and tedious tasks of programming and night long written assignments were not her idea of high quality fun, but they were a rather welcome change of pace considering recent events. After all the excitement, programming errors seemed pleasant compared to being chased by a swarm of vampires. She did remember fondly, though, the particular events that had brought her joy beyond all measure. All vampires and spells aside, she really needed to get her homework done.

She puckered her lips in a pout at the message on the screen and looked down at the clock display. It was nearly a quarter till five, the time that she adopted every day to call Anya at the Magic Box and inquire about the status of her 'special' order.

The redhead picked up the nearby phone and dialed the number. The phone rang several times before Willow heard that distinctly ex-demon voice answer:

"Hi, you've reached the Magic Box. If this is Willow, which is probably is, your shipment has not arrived and I'm sorry. If this is not Willow, please leave a message after the beep and I'll get back to you at my first convenience."

Beep

Upon hearing this all-too-familiar message Willow hung up the phone. 'Hmm that's odd' she though to herself, 'Anya never leaves early'. She shrugged her shoulders and re-focused on the computer, biting her lower lip as she strained to think.

After several more minutes of referencing a textbook and typing, she managed to get the program to run. Her eyes had a faint twinkle and a smile crept up her face. 'You still got it, Missy,' she reassured herself as she started to do a little goofy dance with her fingers that slightly resembled disco dancing. She looked down at the clock that now displayed five and her smile immediately broadened. It was dinner time and that meant Tara time since they had started to synchronize meals in order to see more of each other.

She got to her feet, still in a subtle dance, and walked over to the door. As she went to pick her keys of the nearby stand she noticed that Buffy had brought up the mail. She absentmindedly pawed through the mail to see if there was anything interesting. A bright pink flyer caught her attention. “All University Fall Dance” read the headline, with smaller print below indicating date, time and place. The giddiness in her smile escalated as she thought of Tara in an evening dress leading her onto the dance floor. She folded up the paper, tucked it into her back pocket and headed down to dinner.
-----------------------------------------------------------

"Fish burger, fish sticks or popcorn shrimp?" The lady asked Willow from behind the counter as if it was the millionth time she had asked that question.

"It must be Thursday," Willow responded sarcastically, keenly observing the server in hopes of conjuring a smile.

The server gave Willow a week smile and nodded. Willow opted for the fish sticks, seeing as the popcorn shrimp weren't more than fried batter, and fish really didn't belong on a bun in her opinion.

She walked into the crowded dining area with her tray piled high with dorm-food-goodness and looked around in hopes of spotting one special blonde. She saw a timid hand rise across the room and immediately identified it as belonging to her breathtaking girlfriend. She could not help but smile and tried in vain to control a slight blush that threatened to creep up her fair cheeks. Her mind raced 'Come on Willow, you guys are all soul-bound and stuff, you can't be acting like a love sick puppy forever, control yourself Willow, don't embarrass yourself, and for goddess sake take your eyes of her for a moment before you run into someone.'

"Hey, Tara," Willow said as she put her tray down and took a seat in front of the already seated girl.

"H-Hey to you too," Tara replied looking up at Willow from behind a curtain of long blonde hair.

Willow loved the indescribable feeling that being with Tara gave her, and she was convinced that Tara could feel it too. Ever since that spell to cast the vampires back into hell or wherever they go when they are vanished, there had been a barely noticeable extra-tingle in her belly whenever she set eyes on the blonde witch.

Tara's smiled broadened as she read the joy on her lover's face. "Y-you seem in a extra-good mood today, anything y-you want to share?" Tara asked curiously with a hit of playful accusation.

"Oh ...yeah" Willow said, a smile still lighting up her freckled face. "You know that program that I've been fighting with all week?" she asked rhetorically. “Well today I finally realized that I was missing a semi-colon on the last line of code, where you close the program so the computer can compile it and actually run it, well anyways that's programming for you, you miss one little thing…but I got it to work, and a good thing too ‘cause it's due tomorrow. You can stop me, you know, if I start, well, rambling, cause I do that sometimes and... and..." Willow stopped and chewed on her lip nervously.

Tara smiled at Willow adoringly. "I-I d-don't want to s-stop you f-from…" Tara said seeming shy about continuing her confession, she quickly pulled out a piece of paper from her backpack, scribbled something down and passed the note to Willow. It read:

Does Tara think Willow's babbling is the cutest thing EVER?
Yes No

There was a large well-marked circle around yes on the note, and it was Willow's turn to blush at the reference of her once bold move. Looking back now, she noted her move as the best one she’d ever made.

Willow looked up at Tara in time to catch a subtle and somewhat seductive wink before Tara regained her normal composure and returned to her meal.

"Tara, Do you have any plans for this weekend?" Willow asked politely, still not wanting to assume and intrude on the blonde woman's life.

"W-well, n-no, I just really hope it doesn't involve vampires," Tara said in a lighthearted tone.

"Well, the reason I ask is.. um, well if you didn't have any plans, and you were free Saturday evening, I was kinda hoping that you would....honor me in being my date to the Fall Dance, and perhaps we could go out to dinner before, I don't recall actually going on a 'date' date, well, there was that one time at the picnic, but doesn't it have to be at night to be really considered a date?" The redhead finished her ever-so-long sentence with a quick smile before pulling the pink flyer out of her back pocket and laying it on the table.

Tara chuckled at her girlfriend's incessant babble and looked at the flyer. She was somewhat intimidated by the prospect of a formal dance. In high school she had not attended the homecoming or prom, not because she lacked offers, she just never felt the need and rather spent the nights studying magic with her mother. However, now with Willow asking her, it was a completely different story and she couldn’t resist.

"I-I'd love to," Tara replied to the awaiting Willow. The blonde was rewarded with Willow's fingers-of-joy dance, which caused a broad smile and a deep blush to cover her face.

"Wonderful!" Willow replied as her fingers ceased their dancing.

"Do you have much homework do to tonight, miss Tara?" Willow asked, her fingers now mimicking a puppet, so as to talk to Tara.

Tara chucked and replied, facing down at the digits in question. "Actually I do have an awful amount of work to do. Do your little fingers have much to work on tonight?"

Willow noticed Tara's speech was flawless, all sight of her nervous stutter gone, and she smiled inwardly before replying with her index finger. "I have a boat load, well not really, it's just a finger of speech." They both burst into a fit of giggles.

It took several minutes for the young women to gather their composure long enough to form a coherent sentence. “I don’t know what has gotten into me lately I’ve been acting so…” Willow’s words trailed off as she made eye contact with the beaming blonde before her. “Never mind, I know exactly what has happened to me,” Willow said as she lost herself in the crystal blue eyes that mirrored the unspoken sentiment.

After several moment of getting lost in each others’ eyes, Willow reluctantly spoke “Well, I guess I’d better get back to my room and get the rest of my design homework done, so I can get to bed early,” she concluded with a suggestive wink.

Tara nodded in agreement, reluctant to leave the presence of her love, but motivated by the promise of having Willow’s much cherished warmth surrounding her resting body later on that night. The blonde witch had to catch her thoughts, as they drifted towards the soft and intimate places on Willow’s body she wished she could explore, but managed to, with a certain degree of restraint, veer her thoughts back to her tasks at hand. She could still feel the undeniable twinge she felt at her proximity to the redhead.

The young witches dumped their trays of mangled dorm food and walked down the hall towards the common area of the dining center. “I’ll give you a call when I get done with my homework, OK?” Willow said as they reached the lobby.

Tara smiled brilliantly at Willow and nodded in agreement. As she turned to walk away Willow, in a sudden and quick gesture, gently grasped Tara’s arm long enough to stop her from walking away, and placed a playful kiss on the blonde woman cheek. Just as quick as it happened Willow made a dash for the exit, with one quick look back to see Tara smiling back at her.

Tara nodded in mischievous disapproval as she ran after the redhead that was already in the stairwell, and with not much effort, caught up to the winded, but amused witch. “S-so you think you can just kiss and run?” Tara mockingly interrogated Willow, trying her best to sound serious.

Willow played along, shaking her head in blatant defiance, but failing miserably in hiding her obvious delight.

“Oh, yeah?” Tara responded coolly as she pinned the winded redhead against that wall of the stairwell and pressed her lips against hers.

As Tara withdrew from the kiss Willow asked, “Was that supposed to be punishment or encouragement?”

Tara looked at Willow and could hold character no longer, as a genuine smile took over her face. “Y-you make me so happy, Willow.”

“Well, you make me more happy,” Willow replied, an indisputable look of love in her eyes.

“No, y-you make me more, more happy,” Tara replied, joining Willow in playful banter.

“No, you…” Willow’s words were cut off by a pair of luscious lips placed, once again, on hers.

They could hear people coming down the stairs above them and parted their lips. “This isn’t homework,” Willow commented, smiling at Tara with mischief.

“D-don’t you wish i-it were?” Tara replied as she stepped back from Willow, giving her a seductive smile.

“Oh, yeah, I think I could handle that… any extra credit with Tara 101?” Willow asked, shooting Tara an innocent grin.

“Maybe” Tara replied, feeling her face flush.

“Ok, well, now I really have to go, but I’ll see you later,” Willow reluctantly said.

Tara nodded in agreement, “See you later, love.”

The girls finally drew themselves away from each other and headed to their respective rooms. Each woman sported an extraordinarily bright smile that could be confused with nothing other than the pure joy of being in love.

ok, so i skipped the other feedback, sorry. i'm just so busy and i forgot. i'm loving this story.....i've always loved the early stages of their relatioship, especially in fanfiction, for two very good reasons: 1st, is that in fanfiction there's a rielaboration of the author, lots of different POVs, and i enjoy them all, and 2nd, cause, as a consequence of this rielaboration, there are, of course, new elements, compared to the show (which, to be honest, didn't really show that much in season 4, did it?)

anyway! i love it, of course. i think it's so cute the way they're trying to spend time together and get used to be a part of each other's lives. i also think tara is incredibly sexy....with the shy stutter, yes, but, seemigly, bold enough to run after willow to have a real kiss.....

yes, i'm loving this story, and i can't wait for the next update. will there be other smoochies? :-D

Hugs

RC,
I only have, I think, three scenes to finish in my novel and then the first draft of it will be finished.
I would heartily welcome your opinion of it as it would be completely unbiased and honest.
Your assessment is exactly the kind I am looking for as we have no connection other than fellow writers and my feedback to your story.
I won't be posting it on here as it has nothing to do with Willow and Tara but if you have a contact address or something you want to give me privately I can send you a copy of it and we can go from there.
It's up to you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, onto feedback.

Isn't that just like the young? Yearning for some adventure and excitement in their dull humdrum small town existences and then when it come along, they are glad for a chance to return to normalcy because it is a security blanket with which to crawl under and escape from the mean, nasty, ugly, things that lurk in the shadows and the dark crevices of existence.
One would hope that UC Sunnydale would have something to show for its tuition money as well as the various funding it recieves from state, federal, and private grants but that certainly is not reflected in the choice of entrees in the cafeteria with which the student body is obliged to patronize.
Willow is right about fish not belonging on a bun because anything which resembles seedy sideshow carnival food in all its Fillet 'O' Fish nauseum is evil.
I would even go so far as to amend her stern rebuke and add that melted cheese and fish do not belong together on any bread-related sandwich material.
We are treated to another sign that Willow and Tara are sexually pair-bonded in that Willow's pulse raises and she flushes as red as her hair at the merest sight of Tara across a crowded room, bursting with country-fresh pride at the thought that this radiant creature was hers and hers alone.
Alas, I never attended prom in high school either, never having anyone even resembling a straight version of Tara to consider asking; I spent my time reading and watching old movies in the inevitable preparation for the storytelling I would indulge in later in life.
Tara 101, a guided study course with emphasis on oral exams.
I can deny chicks in chainmail nothing.

First of all I want to apologize for taking so long in getting an update ready. The last couple of months have been rough. Trying to decide whether to follow my long time girlfriend across the country to her new job and in that even leave my own career on hold, or to pursue my own career and pay of some of the student loans that have accumulated over the last several years.

But nevertheless I hate leaving things unfinished, so here goes another update… :pride

Along with that I want to thank you all for reading and leaving me feedback. More specifically:

RageMore7 - Thanks for reading, hopefully I can get updates more frequently now.

Thianne – I also love the beginning stages of a relationship. When I started out writing, I intended my story to be JUST a “first time” experience, but when I got it underway I felt the need to continue past the first time. Tara IS most sexy, I always loved the shy ones too. I’m glad you like it.

Guppy - I love a hot steamy love making scene as much as the next gal, but I’m really a sucker for the cute and fuzzy in a relationship, and that’s what I was going for in this last chapter.

Bluebird – Thanks, I try. I also try to really capture their “personalities”, which is really the essence of the stories. Thanks again for your support.

Taralicious – As always your feedback are a little piece of art onto itself. Which always drives me to achieve more.

[blockquote]“Tara 101, a guided study course with emphasis on oral exams.” [/blockquote]All I got to say is YEAH BUDDY

You’re an inspiration. Thanks for your wonderful and lengthy feedbacks, your rock!
p.s. whenever you have that novel finished, I would love to check it out.

Dianneswillowtree - SOW – all I got to say to you. Thanks buddy. You always believe in me.

MochaVamp – we should all be as lucky when it comes to punishment.
[blockquote]"As Tara withdrew from the kiss Willow asked, Was that supposed to be punishment or encouragement?”[/blockquote]Thanks MochaVamp.

WillowWatcher - Fun Dance? Stay tuned, and thanks for the encouragement.

Again, thanks to everyone for your support. I’ll try and start posting more often!

Chapter 16

On Friday afternoon Willow and Buffy walked down the bustling streets of Sunnydale’s shopping district. They were on a mission, each woman on the prowl for the perfect garment: just the thing to make their respective partners weak at the knees, although undauntedly ‘nothing’ would have the same effect.

“Oh oh what about that?” Buffy said excitedly, as she pointed out a petite spaghetti-strapped dress in the window. Undauntedly, shopping was Buffy’s true calling in life, not as much could be said over Willow’s enthusiasm.

Willow looked up at the item of clothing in questioned and shook her head, “I little to, um, too revealing for me” she said as she tried to imagine herself showing of that much skin.

“No, silly, for me” Buffy responded, giving her pal a friendly slap on the shoulder.

“Oh” Willow said nervously “In that case, I think I would be a great choice, I’m sure that Riley would like it, not that I wouldn’t like it, I just never looked at you that way, not that you’re not attractive, but you’re Buffy and that would be weird, and oh my, I’ll be quiet now”

Buffy chuckled at her babbling friend “Ok, let’s go see how many of my limbs I’m going to have to give up for that thing”

They entered the shop with a quaint ring of the door bell. The shop, which was one of the more expensive and well known of the strip, was small and felt slightly crowded. Many manikins dressed in overly extravagant clothing adorned the shop interior, providing a sense of uncomfortably finesse.

“Oh, Willow, what about something like that?” Buffy asked the redhead as she pointed to a dressed manikin toward the front of the store. The manikin in question sported a fashionably tailored three piece woman’s suit with a matching tie. The suit was black with subtlety indented pinstripes. The vest had a black background with an elegant silver pattern resembling Celtic art adorning it, and a smart-looking black tie was tucked neatly behind the vest, completing the look.

Willow stood observing the outfit for several moments “I don’t know, I’m really not all big with the butch” but yet she didn’t take her gaze off of it.

“May I help you with something?” A well dressed middle aged woman approached them.

“Actually yes” Buffy spoke “I would like to try on the black dress in the window and my friend here would like to try that on” she finished and pointed at the suit. Willow opened her mouth in protest, but it was too late, the woman had gone to fetch the dress and by the look in Buffy’s eyes, that wasn’t much of a choice at this point.
A few minutes later Buffy was trying her best to coarse Willow out of the dressing room “Come on Willow, just let me look, please!!! Pretty please!”

“If you come out and show me, I promise not to go in there and kick your ass” Buffy finally said with a hint of both amusement and frustration.

“Ok, ok” Willow hastily responded “but you have to promise not to laugh”

“Deal” Buffy agreed, an authentic smile crossing her face, she couldn’t think of the last time she had gotten time to just hang out with her best friend, and was enjoying it immensely.

“Ok, here I come, but if you laugh at me, I’ll…” Willow said as she opened the dressing room door and stepped out.

“You’ll whaaa…?” Buffy’s sentence ended abruptly as Willow emerged shyly from the stall.

The suit fit like it was made for Willow, the fabric contoured to her body in an elegantly professional manner. Buffy had to step back to take it all in, the sharpness of the suit along with the fine craftsmanship of the silver of the vest really made for a remarkably handsome site.

“What do you think?” Willow asked nervously as she turned around to look into the full length mirror.

Buffy approached Willow and stood facing the mirror. Side by side the friends observed each other and themselves in the mirror. A knowing and mischievous smile creped up both of their faces.

“We look totally HOT” Buffy declared as she strung her arm thru Willow’s.

“Yeah we do” Willow replied, turning around to her friend “We are totally going to blow them away” she continued as she smiled.

“Well, what do you say we unload some money into this establishment, and get some caffeine into our system?” Willow suggested as she let go of Buffy’s arm and headed back into the dressing room.

“Sound like a plan I can tolerate to follow” Buffy answered as she frolicked back into her dressing room.

“You really think Tara will like it? Willow asked Buffy thru the dressing room walls.

“Are you kidding?” Buffy responded rhetorically “She is going to LOVE it, I promise”

And with that, the shopping portion of the afternoon was complete, and the couple of friend set out in search of the much desired caffeinated beverages.

***

Later that evening Willow and Buffy sat in there rooms engaged in lighthearted conversation.

“Oh oh, it’s almost a quarter till five” Willow announced excitedly for at least the third time. Buffy rolled her eyes mockingly at her friends over enthusiasm.

“What? Buffy, don’t give me that look” Willow replied in a good mannered accusation. “If it were YOU in my place, you would have probably leveled Sunnydale by now”

Buffy giggled at the accusation and shook her head in agreement “I’d more likely have leveled Mexico in search for the last ingredient”

Willow laughed “Yeah, I think I’m almost ready to.”

Willow was very grateful for her friend, and had really enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect. With the end of the world and her newfound connection to Tara, she really hadn’t had much time to just hang out with her best friend, and it had turned out to be a great day.

As Willow was reaching for the cordless phone in their room, the phone rang.

“Hi, Willow” Anya’s voice pierced thru the phone “I knew that you were about to call, anyways, and yes it is here”

“Woohooo” Willow sang out and started to do her little happy dance.

“I’ll be right over” Willow said into the phone and hung up, she just as quickly threw her light coat on and glanced at Buffy “Want to got to the magic shop?” she beamed of joy as she spoke to Buffy.

“S-sure” Buffy responded in the middle of being dragged out the door.

***

The door swung open at the Magic Box as a frantically exited Willow rushed in.

“Where is it?” Willow asked, a huge smile brightening her face.

“Calm down Willow” Anya said as she emerged from behind the cash register “Hmmm, where did I put it?” she spoke to herself as she browsed thru some nearby shelves. “Oh boy, I think I might have sold it, no problem I can order another batch and have it again in a few weeks”

Willow stood there, staring at Anya in disbelief for several moments,” Anya, I am going to kill you” she stated as she approached her and mocked choking the fair haired ex-demon.

“Ha Ha” Anya laughed nervously as she picked up a container and handed it to the not so amused redhead. “I’m trying a little of what you call ‘humor’, but I guess my timing is still bad, Xander wouldn’t stop crying when I told him is mom died”

Willow looked at Anya with disbelief, Anya quickly responded “She didn’t, I’m still trying to fit in, I’m sorry Willow”

The brief moment of un-sarcastic honesty from the ex-demon had softened Willows face. The redhead, realizing she now had the last ingredient for her much desired resolution to her forced celibacy, jumped up, hugged Anya forgivingly and with much glee set of to find the instructions to the spell.

As Willow browsed the dusty bookshelf for the text in question Giles appeared from the basement with a cardboard box.

“How did I know you would be here?” Giles asked Willow with a rare and jolly smile as he continued “I knew you would be up here for this ‘spell’, so I took the liberty of collecting everything you would need and writing out the instructions – in English”

“Oh thank you Giles” Willow replied, beaming with excitement.

“Ok, you can only have it on one condition” Giles said intending to sound stern, but failing miserably behind is apparent delight at seen one of his young friend’s happy.

“Ok, what is it?” Willow asked, smiling with curiosity. “You need your home computer worked on?, again”

“No, although that too should be part of the deal” Giles smiled and continued “I do not want to hear about anything to do with the results of this spell” he quickly handed over the box and stood back.

Anya at this time found it opportune to try humor again “You mean you don’t want to hear about the hours of se…”Anya’s words where stopped by a Willow-hand.

“Precisely” Giles sighted in defeat and reverted his attention to Willow. “Willow, the only other thing that you will need is two pieces of a pure substance, gold or silver would work well, in order to function as charms and hold the spell on you both”
Willow was in thought for a moment and then smiled “I have the perfect thing” she placed the box down on the table and got to work.

“Aren’t you going to call Tara and give her the good news?” Buffy asked Willow as she took at seat beside her and curiously observed the young witch at work.

“I was thinking I would surprise her” Willow answered fighting the mischievous grin that threaten to overcome her face “You don’t think she will be upset?, cause the last thing I want to do is make her upset, and this is kinda behind her back, not that I’m doing anything wrong, do you think I’m doing something wrong?” Willow babbled on in a self inflicted panic.

“Willow, calm down, Tara is going to be beyond happy with THIS surprised” Buffy reassured her.

And with that Willow got to work on the task at hand.

**Saturday evening in Willow and Buffy’s dorm room…***

“Are you sure I look ok?” Willow nervously asked as she fiddled with her hair again, for what would have been the twelfth time that evening since she had put her suit on.

“You hair looks FINE” Buffy said trying to calm her friend down.

“You’re sure I shouldn’t put it up instead?” Willow asked again, second guessing her decision to wear it down and natural.

“No, it looks GREAT” Buffy reassured her.

The gang had agreed to meet at their dorm room at 8:00 pm, and it was now 7:45.

“I just want to look my best for my…” Willow spoke to herself more that Buffy.

Buffy took Willow by the shoulders, looked her once over again, and then looked her straight in the eyes “You look wonderful my friend, if I wasn’t your best friend and straight, I’d have an eye for ya” she added with a wink.

The redhead smiled at her friend’s awkward attempt to help and relaxed a bit, until she heard a knock at the door.

“Come in” Buffy shouted as she looked back at her nervous friend and reassured her “Your gonna sweep her off her feet”

A well groomed Xander followed by Anya entered the room.

“Willow, man, wow, talk about competition, you trying to make me look bad?” Xander addressed Willow, walking over in his slightly oversized suit that he had borrowed from his dad.

“Good?” Willow asked shyly observing the approving looks of her friends.

Riley arrived shortly after and had similar commentary to Xander about Willow’s choice in ensemble. Admitting that Willow was looking far more handsome than himself.

Willow started to slowly pace as the gang engaged in conversation. ‘I really hope she likes it’ she thought to herself. Her thoughts had been drifting all day in the direction of her stunning blonde. She hadn’t seen her since this morning and was anxious and exited over this nights events.

I slight tapping at the door indicated someone’s arrival. Xander looked out the peep hole and his jaw dropped open.

“Xander, Who is it?” Willow asked nervously. Still no reply from the dark hair man. He just looked at Willow with a sly grin and pointed for her to come to the door.

Xander opened the door just as Willow arrived at it and smiled at his friend’s reaction.

Willow was frozen in place at the sight before her eyes.

Tara stood in the hallway with a shy posture, her blonde hair cascading over her face and on to her nearly bear shoulders. She wore a red dress that hung from her body like silk. It was held up by a loop of material that went behind her neck and came down in two even strips on either side to cover her breasts. The v-line of the dress was draped low and stopped at where her ribs meet. Down the seam of the dress there were two long slits revealing perfectly shaped creamy legs.

The rest of the gang watched in amusement as the speechless witches took in the sight of each other. “Ok, shows over” Buffy declared as she dragged Xander, Anya and Riley to another part of the room, giving Willow and Tara some privacy.

Tara took a few steps and entered the room, still enchanted my Willow’s handsome appearance.

“Wow, Tara, I, you, wow, look, wow” was all Willow could conjure at the sight of her breathtaking beauty.

The redhead extended her hand to Tara and pulled her closer. “Ok, you guys go along, we’ll meet you lllllaater” she said winking suggestively at Tara.

The gang laughed but agreed that if they left now, they wouldn’t see the couple for the rest of the night.

Willow creped closer to Tara and whispered into the nearby ear “You look absolutely gorgeous”, causing Tara to blush and draw closer to Willow basking in warm security.

“Y-you l-l-look l-like an angel” Tara whispered back, letting her bottom lip lightly touch the redheads ear, sending chills down Willow’s spine.

Willow could feel her skin heat up with desire to touch the blonde woman standing before her and without though she brought her lips inches from the soft red lips of her lover.

Tara’s breath was quickening, she still felt the presence of the rest of their friends uncomfortably nearby, but the desire to kiss Willow was overpowering and overruling all sense of modesty she had left. She closed the gab between their lips and took Willow’s lips fully onto hers.

The kiss grew quickly into a more passionate exploration of their mouths as Willow darted her tongue into the inviting warmth of her lover’s mouth. The blonde quickly lacked on to the invading tongue and sucked lightly, coercing muffled moans from the now much exited redhead.

After several moments of undivided attention to each other they both became aware that the rest of their friends were no longer engaged in conversation. They looked to find two sends of grins and two sets of rolling eyes.

“No, no, please, continue” Xander said a friendly grin on his face.

The witched looked at each other and laughed “I’m sorry Tara, I don’t know what came over me” Willow tried to apologize for her lack of modestly, her not really being one for public displays of such sort.

“I know what came over you” Xander intervened, in mischievous usefulness “Look at her!” he quickly pointed out.

Willow rolled her eyes and shook her head. ‘It is going to be a long dance’ she thought to herself looking at Tara and sharing a knowing smile.

“Ok, we should get going” Buffy announced as she led Riley out the door and into the hall, followed by Xander and Anya.

Willow held back and started to follow Tara out the door when suddenly Tara slammed be door shut, backed up drawing Willow to her. Willow’s passion intensified at Tara’s boldness as she pressed the blonde woman against the door and once again took her lips onto her own for a long un-interrupted intense kiss.

Willow had to stop her hand from reaching down the side of the dress and exploring to her heart’s desire. The women finally caught their breaths long enough to look into each others eyes.

“I love you Tara” Willow inched closer and spoke into her lips.

The feeling on Willow’s breath on Tara’s lips caused the blonde to quiver with tensioned pleasure and pull the redhead back into a passionately meaningful kiss.

“I-I-I” Tara was speechless when looking into the hazel orbs that spoke volumes of love and lust.

“Come on guys, we aren’t leaving into your come out” the distinctive voice of Buffy could be heard coming from the hallway.

“I guess we should go” Willow commented as she came in for a more gentle kiss.

As Willow retreated from the kiss Tara brought her hand up to her lips, as if to hold on to the sensation that Willow had left there.

They reluctantly opened the door and emerged from the room.

“Ok, lets ok” Buffy led the group down to hallway.

“Hey, Will” Xander addressed Willow

“Yeah” Willow looked up as she walked hand-in-hand with Tara down the hall.

“Were you wearing lip-stick earlier?” Xander asked innocently.

Willow and Tara both blush but she still responded “Yes” quite proudly and continued walking.

“On your ear?” Xander asked.

Willow shot Xander a friendly yet threatening glare and responded “It’s all the rage in Europe”

The night was looking promising. A group of good friends, all cleaned up very nicely, and on their way to somewhere other than a graveyard on a Saturday night. There was no mistaking the cheer in the air, especially emanating from the young couple of witched who walked arm in arm and whispered into each others ears form time to time.

Yes, Willow knew it; it was going to be a good night.
