Re: The Edge of Silence - Chap 8c: Be My Blanket

Postby hush30 » Tue Mar 04, 2003 11:24 pm

OMG that was a wonderful update Mel. I was a bit worried for awhile there that Dani was going to leave, but Jo handled the situation very well (and was richly rewarded for it I might add... :grin ). I really felt for Jo as she found herself in a situation where she had absolutely no idea what to do and one wrong word could have ended in Dani leaving. I am also glad Dani came to the realisation that Jo wanted her, she didn't pity her. So Woo Hoo for Jo and Dani snuggles.

I really enjoyed the Willow and Tara smoochies too. I love it when the girls talk and tell each other what they want and need. As always your writing is incredibly descriptive and very, very enjoyable.

I got all excited when I saw that you had updated. I must say that it was well worth the wait.

What I love most about your writing is the way it elicits such strong emotional feelings from me.

DEAR GOD...! I have GOT to remember that I can't read this stuff at work...I go completely non-verbal. I must say, I am quite pleased to see Dani and Jo finally get to this phase of their relationship. Can't wait to see where the story takes them next. As for Willow and Tara.....beautiful as always. Have I mentioned that I absolutely LOVE this fic??????? :applause

Oh Mel, again so wonderful.

In the beginning I had doubts about Dani, and now she seems such a vulnerable person with both body soul scarred, and Jo being the strong one for them both.

I especially enjoyed this as Jo got her share of this back in the beginning of this great story!

Now, it's Jo's turn, right? :pray

That was wonderful Triscuit. *Happy sigh* I love that Jo and Dani have gotten together and that Dani let down all her barriers with Jo. I also love the level of intimacy you have between Willow and Tara, not just when they make love but when they are just lying next to each other you have Tara stroking Willows tummy. The only three comment cracked me up as well. Thank you for this update I really do love this story.

This is a wonderful fic that has every element firing on all cylinders – Dani's brittle outer shell masking such heart-breaking self-image issues, Jo's terror of not measuring up to Dani and the willingness of both women to work beyond their personal issues for the sake of the other. I have no doubt that Jo and Dani's dynamic will continue to resolve, evolve and mature with time. Now, introducing the Willow & Tara smut smorgasbord goodness – with a dash of love and trust, a pinch of wicked imagination and served piping hot to many anxiously waiting Kittens. Your writing style is smooth and your characterization are heartfelt - making us care about these characters. Thanks for the great read, Melissa.

Ooooh, yes yes yes. THAT was just yummy, Mel. Jo finally got her girl. Or more acurately, her girl got her. ;) Heh. And I loved the "posting on a horse" comparison. :lol

Also liked Willow and Tara getting vicarious lovin' from next door, too. :D

Another spectacular update, Mel!

As we head into "where the wild things are," I'd like to see more of what is going on emotionally between Willow and Tara. The big Tara got hurt moment made a big difference for Willow and I am anxious how that plays out between her love for Tara and Tara's insecurity about it.

And Willow and Tara, saying "only three?" *giggle, now shows us some of their 4ths and fiths ;) God what stamina :p

Update

Postby cassiopeia191 » Thu Mar 06, 2003 5:22 pm

Oh whew...I absolutely LOVED this update, especially the Jo/Dani part...you managed to give both of them such depth and their character development is great; they've both become so intriguing to me. I am glad they finally took that step in their relationship (or whatever it is, they don't seem to be totally sure of that themselves) because I've just come to love them and how they interact. This part had me hanging on the edge of my seat-- thank you!!

Oh My- You are so completely forgiven for the "clit-hanger" at the end of the last update. :thud

I just can't tell you how much I love this fic. It's educational on so many levels. Ya know, I've never pondered the square root of 4,761, or the co-efficient of friction or even the merits of horseback riding applied to other activities. Mel, you make learning fun. :devil

Seriously, I love the way you've developed Jo. She feels like such a dork when trying to express herself, but somehow, she always knows exactly the right thing to say. She's blunt, she's honest and surprisingly insightful. Nicely done. I'm looking forward to more of Tara's thoughts about Willow's declaration of love. And, of course, I can't wait for more naughty girl on girl action.

Good God, Mel. That was amazing. WOW... it's very hot in here! There's steam coming from my monitor and I'm pretty sure I see drool seeping from my keyboard. I don't know. Might just be my drool though. :drool

Totally awesome. I LOVED it. I'm so glad Dani didn't leave. So, she has alot of scars on her body, huh? I feel so bad for her, having had to go through all of that. Hopefully she pay that sleazy vamp back? In the form of a stake through her heart? One can only hope.

Hee... I love the vixeny Willow and Tara at the end, listening to Jo and Dani. They're so bad! :lol That was funny.

And Willow and Tara... :heart :drool :heart :thud I just love our girls and that they reconnected. Can't wait to see what they do next. *Hint, Hint* ;) Need more lovin'.

Thanks, Mel, for the update. More, soon?

I really liked the interplay of Jo and Dani's different worries about making love, and I had to laugh at Willow and Tara getting an earful of their neighbors for a change.

Mel,

This fic now has a more permanent mark as my favorite around the board. :) If you'll just look at my sig, you'll see that. ;) There were so many lines that I wanted to use, but I loved this one from the last update.

Thanks again for writing this. I just enjoy your writing so much.

Hi Mel,

I promised I'd read this as soon as I got back from Vegas, and I'm all caught up now. I'd have finished sooner, but I didn't dare read at work.

This is a fantastic fic, you get the characters spot on (I love your Anya), and the Jo/Dani thing has bubbled along nicely, without distracting from the W/T action

Some of my favourite eps are in S4, but I don't think I'll be able to watch Superstar again without thinking of this fic, really looking forward to how the next few pan out.

I was reading through the replies and I'm dumbstruck at the thought that I haven't yet replied. I could have sworn that I did. I apologize for that. This was a simply incredible update. I love the layers, depth, beauty and passion that you bring to this story. You provide us an amazing pair of eyes to see things through. Every new chapter is breathtaking and I can't wait for more.
