Part 8:
She was running as fast as she could. She had to make it. This was her everything..she was her everything. Tara....the one that brought her happiness. At this moment nothing else mattered. She finally came to the terminal, she ran to the attendant.
"Excuse me...I have to get on this plane..now!" She cried, out of breath.
" I'm sorry miss." He said pointing to the window.
Willow looked out the window only to see the plane taking off. Her breath hitched.
"No, you don't understand..you have to stop it!" She said almost yelling.
"I'm sorry but I can't." He said looking sincere.
Willow walked slowly to the window ignoring the tears streaming down her face. She put one hand on the window. Her face had a blank expression yet the tears kept falling. All of a sudden everyone heard a loud scream...
"Noooooooooooooo...."
"Willow?" She heard...What? I don't remember that. She thought as she started to wake up.
"Buffy? What time is it?" She yawned.
"It's time to get up. From the looks of it, you slept well." Buffy said looking at the sheets.
Willow opened her eyes and narrowed them at Buffy.
"Heh, you never were a morning person. Fresh coffee in the kitchen." She said walking out.
Willow rolled her eyes, she looked down to see her sheet twisted around her. She unwrapped herself grumbling.
"Not a morning person..what do you know Buffy. I'm a morning person, the best..yep, that's me. Ms. Morning America...." She stopped when she made it to the mirror. Her eyes widened.
"What the hell!" She said clamping her hand over her mouth.
"I mean heck..what the heck, yeah, that's better, heck!" She moved closer to the mirror to get a better look. Red hair was sticking out every which way.
"Okay, this constitutes a bad hair day." The redhead said sarcasticaly.
"This is gonna take a lot of work."
After about an hour of frustration Willow finally made it to the kitchen.
"Hey Will!" Buffy said eyeing Willow's head. "You look um...nice!" She continued trying to be positive for her best friend.
Willow was not amused. "Yeah, I gave up..stupid hair." She noticed the look on Buffy's face. "Go ahead, laugh, I know you want to. So just get it over with already.."
Buffy swallowed hard to stop the laughter she was having a hard time controlling.
"No Will, it's a good look...the hat..um...brings out your eyes." She said not looking at her while she sipped her coffee.
Willow took the hat off to look at the little green frogs dancing on it. Her mom had given it to her for her birthday saying she didn't have any hats and needed one.
"Well, it's a good thing you got over your frog fear." The blonde said still trying to stifle her laughter.
"No, I didn't really get over it, but it's just pictures right? I can do pictures." She said eyeing the hat warily. "Stupid frogs.." She grumbled. Okay frogs, no jumping off the hat and biting me. I know you aren't supposed to bite but I see the way you're looking at me. I know what's in those tiny little brains of yours. So you just be good little froggies, ok?
"So, got plans today?" Buffy asked while rinsing her cup out.
" Just going to the library. What about you?"
" I've got to get my shopping done for Dawn's birthday. I can't believe she'll be 21."
"Yeah they grow up fast, and the faster they grow up the older we get." Willow said with a sad expression.
Buffy noticed the look and her face fell as well. For the last three years Willow had never been truly happy. No matter how hard Buffy tried she couldn't bring the old Willow back. It broke her heart to see Willow so lonely and sad. Willow finally told Buffy the whole story the day after Tara left. Buffy spent the whole night in Willow's room holding her friend who, after hours, finally cried herself to sleep. It was a night Buffy didn't ever want to see again.
"Oh, come on Will, you're not old." Buffy wanted to change the subject. "Guess who's been asking about you?" She said nudging Willow's arm. After not recieving an answer she continued. "Well, I'll tell you. Laura, you know the woman that's always at the Exspesso Pump? She really likes you Will."
Willow didn't even look up. "Buffy, you know that....."
"I know, you're not interested. Will, you have to move on. This isn't healthy, Tara..."
Willow jumped up. "What do you know Buffy! You've never been in love..not like this! Tara's my soulmate, I just know." She said tearing up.
Buffy rushed to her side and put her arm around her. "I'm sorry Will. You're right, I'm sorry."
"I just don't understand why she hasn't called or anything. She said she loved me, but she won't even talk to me. I've tried to get in touch with her but...help me Buffy..help me understand." She begged.
"I don't know Will, I just don't know." She continued to hold her friend. After Willow calmed down Buffy let her go. "I should probably go and get Dawn's presents. Are you gonna be okay Will?" She asked with concern in her voice.
"Yeah, thanks. I'm gonna head to the library. I'll see you later." The redhead grabbed her coat and headed out the door.
A little later Buffy arrived home to find the house empty. Will must've had a lot of work to do. After putting the presents in the closet she wanted to sit down. After almost making it to the couch she heard the doorbell. Ugh..who could that be? She opened the door, with her wide eyes she asked..."Tara?"
