Author note : I've been thinking...'where's the smut in my fic!!!' because you know, I live by smut. So there will be...like next few updates or something. But right now, I'll just take it slow. No need to hurry, right? :whistle

Here we go!!!

THE ELEMENTS >>>

Chapter One_b : Are we going to do this?

Tara arrived with her old blue Chevy car at Willow house 20 minutes early. The car which was her cousins’s car, Mikey, the only son of Uncle Jo. He just gave it to her after he bought his new luxery car with his saving.

Tara looked at herself in the back mirror one last time and lean herself back to the driver seat. The blonde witch sighed out the nervous breath.

Okay, just get out of the car and ring that goddamn doorbell! Look at you all nervous and panic. What’s wrong? You used to pick her up before, you dork! And what’s with arrive 20 minute early anyway?

Tara sighed again. After she got in this town. In these two months, sure she used to pick Willow up a few times. Like the day that they decided to go to the beach and she picked Faith and Buffy up before came here to get Willow. Or the time that Willow got sick but she really didn’t want to skip the class so Tara was asked to pick her up in the morning. That was about month ago, on Monday morning, I did try to convincing her to stay home. I worried about her sickness so much but she was so stubborn. Willow never skip Willow’s classes. Or one times that she dropped Willow home after spending the night together at The Bronze. But that packed Buffy and Faith along too. That night was Saturday night on the second week we knew each other. Tara chuckled on her sillyness behavior. Have I been counting the days? Am I counting everyday we spend time together and marking the specified dates in my heart? How silly. Tara shook her head in pity for herself. I’m such a dork.

Tara couldn’t help but sighed again, which was almost a hundred times tonight.

What’s going on with me? This is not the same pick up? Tara stared back at her blue eyes in the back mirror.The eyes that contained so much feelings hiding.

Geez, Who am I kidding! Tara rolled her eyes. It’s never the same since I first met her.

Tara thought back to the day she first met Willow.

~~~~~
In that library, on sunny day but same unbelievably bored like her entire life. Then this girl came and said ‘Hi’. Suddenly, the world seem shining, burst with glowing light from the lonely heart of her.
The friend, I never had friend. Never real friend. Hardly anyone even wants to say hello to me first. But she...That day she acknowledged that all the time she used to go to the library, Willow always sit at the table next to her. But she could only hear the sound of the paper scratching when the redhead turned the pages of those books. The sounds of the pencil scratched with papers when she writing something down. Or the sounds of typing on the little alphabet pads whenever the redhead brought her laptop in. Tara was not aware of it but later those sounds that Willow’d made begin to comforted her, delicately. That’s what Willow always does to her, warm, delicate and kind of a bit dazzling.
I never even look at her face but I always know she’s there. Tara was so shy, she never even brought herself to stole a quick glance who was that girl. But she always knew, because apart from those comforting sounds, there’s also a sweet strawberry scent from Willow drifted slowly in the air. Whenever, Tara could knew of that scent and it’s really remarkable that she knew she was going to remember this strawberry girl forever. Even I’ll never know who she is. But never once, she would think she would have a chance to being really knows that Strawberry.
Today, like everyday. She felt that the girl was walking in. The familiar strawberry scent drifted through her nostril. Tara just smiled to herself, blue eyes still looking at the pages of hundred alphabets in the book but her mind was filling over with that girl. Tara felt that girl walked pass her to the same table, putting her stuff on the flat wooden surface. The sound of the library chair’s legs slided against cold granite floor behind her reassuring that she’s really there, not just her nostril was having day dreaming. And...eh? Tara was waiting for the familiar sounds of pages of the book turning but it never came. Maybe...she needs to sit and think a bit about her work. The blonde was smiling in her head for the girl’s works. She must be really clever. With all the books she’s read, it seem like hundred....Then Tara just had to look up when she felt strong urge to gave the attention. Someone was standing near at her table and looking at her. Tara almost fainted with sudden surprise.
“Hi” It was the perfect moment that the girl voiced the word. She could remember the big green eyes that tenderly look at her yet contain so much excitement. Her beautiful face glowing in dim daylight of library. Who is she? Oh?...the strawberry scent...is she?...really? Why is she talking to me?...Tara hesitated to say something back. Her head was spinning. She wondered if it’s some kind of joke like that guy back in her hometown did. He tapped her back and said hi. After that she found herself was having the paper said ‘loser’ taped at her back all day long. It was hurt.
Anyway, this girl was not the part of that evil’s plan.
“I, um, notice that you come here everyday?” The girl said, still standing in front of her. Looking all cute with her shoulder-length red hair curled up at the end and rest on her shoulder and neck perfectly.
“Y-Yes.” Tara stuttered back, her head hung low. She was expecting to see some pity glint shine from those green eyes like everyone was a bit step aback when they heard her bad stutter. She looked up and found herself surpirsed for those green eyes that seem to glittering with some sort of overwhelm feeling.
“I’m Willow.” Oh...Willow....Tara slowly let the name mingle in her mind. Willow smiled, reaching out her hand to greet. The blonde shyly responded, shaking the offered hand. How soft. Tara thought. “Tara.” The shy girl replied softly.
“ So, Tara...” The redhead paused a few seconds and nodded slowly as if she’s savouring the name. “I saw you and thought I would just say hi ‘cause you’re here everyday. And you know, I saw you alone here,...much as I am.” Willow chuckled. “And maybe, um, well, I thought I would just say hi!” Willow was a bit nervous and Tara could notice that. Why? Tara thought. But the thought didn’t really came the the realisation. In fact, Tara could hardly think straight.
“Um, y-you s-s-saw me?” Tara couldn’t believe her ears. Somebody actually NOTICE me?
“I was always sitting there, that table, back yours.” Willow said. Motioning the way by her hand.
“Oh,...” Tara replied softly. “It’s really you.” The blonde finally let a smile washed over her face “ S-scratching paper, typing, writing and sound clever.” Tara finished and suddenly felt embarrassing by the words spoken out. Like she always secretly admiring Willow by not even looking up from her desk. Tara looked down at her book shyly and looked up again just to found that the redhead was grinning broadly. Tara was completely trown by that smile.
“You, um, heard me?” Willow said, blushing.
She’s blushing! Oh...well, did I emberass her or something?
“Y-yes. I-It’s you right? I often heard the sounds of y-your study and typing and, um, s-stuff.” Tara nervously uttered. She just didn’t use to being noticed by someone then actually greeted and actually talking like this. She was afraid that she’s going to cause some emberassment since she saw Willow blushed but she just said what she just said. The words seem to just slipped out of her, which was strange because she never talk this much to anyone. How dork of me. You’re sounding like a sneaky girl with a bit of stalker gal. Tara damned herself.
“Totally yes. You caught me.” Willow giggling softly. The blonde relieved that Willow didn’t think she’s weird. “Um, so,...” The redhead hesitated. The moment slightly turned awkward.
“ So there, you Tara, me Willow. We know each other now. And I would just let you be alone again because, um, I have a class. Which I shouldn’t miss ‘cause I never miss any classes. And you might want to be alone because I might interrupted your reading and, and, library was no place for talking. I was just...” Willow trailed off.
“A class in order, I-I know.” Tara said with a shy smiled. She couldn’t help but love this girl talking, babbling cutely. Willow could only nodded and grinned back.
Tara found herself watch the girl expression with adoration which surprise and strange to herself too. Then there was a quiet moment when Tara lost in her thought, never broke her eyes on the redhead.
They just kept staring and gave each other the silly grinned and nodded. The moment past about a half-minute until Willow spoke. “ Uh, Tara..., well,” Willow let out a breath with a resolve face. “I’ll see you later.” Willow said with a smile.
What was I doing? Did I just lose in my head, staring at her. She whom totally stranger? Tara was out of her reverie and began to panic.
“Bye, Willow, nice to a-actually know y-you.” Tara replied, stammerringly, by sudden of shyness that was creeping to her emotion.
Willow nodded and grinned. THE MOST LOVELY GRIN! Tara exclaimed in her head.
Willow walked back to gathering her stuff from the table behind the blonde. As when Willow was making her way out of the library, she walked pass Tara. Tara was unable to help herself not to look up and watch the girl stepped pass. Slightly disappointment when the redhead didn’t at least turn and gave her a last goodbye smile.
Willow continued walking out of the room. The blonde ducked her head back to the book infront of her. Despite of disappointment, she was totally hopping gleefully in her mind. She’s so cute and look so cool. I can’ t believe she NOTICE me and actually said ’hi’ . Right! Dream on, Tara. It’ s not like she’s interesting in you or anything. She just think you’ re lonely pathetic and thought it would be nice to just say hi. She’ s just being kind. Oh goddess, she’s so adorable if she thought it’d be nice to just say hi.
Hmm, Willow. Willow. Willow. How beautiful it sounds.
Get a life! It’s just a hi. Anybody could say that.
But it was Willow who ACTUALLY SAID IT.
It’ s not like you are cool to hang out with or anything. In fact, you’re just some dork girl that happens to come here everyday, sitting at this table. And Willow just being nice ‘cause you look so lonely everyday. That’s right.
She was just being nice.
Oh! so cute for being nice!
And nice is good.
~~~~

And that’ s it. Willow got her by simply ‘Hi-ing’.

Tara was really happy that day. That week, her mind went back and forth about the conversation they shared. It’s almost obsession.

Then before she knew, she kind of already became Willow’ s best friend.

Best friend with a FEELING.

The FEELING, as she thought, she didn’t really aware of it. It’s became a part of her. It’s mingle inside her.

Like tonight, she excited to pick Willow up. It should be strange to excited when you were about to pick one of your FRIEND up, but this excitement was just a part of a million kind of felling she feel for Willow. It’s a million feelings that happened when they got close, when they talked, when they saw each other in morning classes, when they exchanged knowing glances, when they shared laughs, when she simply thinking about Willow and a million whenever for whatever they had together. So Tara couldn’t really point out where the it began and end. It actually was infinity if she was daring enough to admitted it.

But, really, she couldn’t quite shake it. She couldn’t quite name it or call it like she’s been tried so many times. This feeling, she felt like it’s beyond any humanly words.

All she knew is that she felt like she’d known Willow since forever. The first time they met was like a vivid dream she had all her life, the vivid dreams that she couldn’t recall but it became a part of her. It’s like she just knew that the moment Willow walked up and said hi, it’s like she knew for the first time Willow spoke up, it's gonna change her life forever.

It changed me indeed. The security. I never felt so secure before. She’s the only one I could give my trust for. I know she’s not gonna broke me. Not like everyone could.

She always felt so warm, delicate and dazzle when she closed to Willow. Willow gave good dazzling almost every time even before we knew each other. Tara chuckles softly. The feeling was growing stronger day by day. It’d molten thickly, sweetly like sugar melting inside her and she just got use to it. Get used to the way she feel for the redhead and what she could felt from her. It’s just Willow and Tara, Tara and Willow. People can called it addictted corny obsession, she called it the truth.

Willow, the most amazing person walking on earth. The most delicate mind, so clever, so fragile, so adorable, so quirky, so silly, so goofy, so speacial...so very one speacial Willow. And between million of million people in this world and another thousand worlds, she found me.

Willow found me.

Willow.

Tara gave a last thought to savour her mind. Checked the time, she glanced at her watch. 8.10?

Ok, now or never.

Tara got out of the car. She took a moment to drink the night air and looked above into the sky. The stars were shining, glittering all over the above dark blue endless ocean. Tara felt tiny among those beautiful god’s creations. She let the million feelings inside her mingle with what’s surrounding her. I’ve changed. She realized she was having a feeling that had been gone on for a long time, the feeling where she thought...

Beautiful.

Just, everything is just beautiful.

Tara took a long deep breath.

Let her feet brought her to door step.

Let her hand leaded its way to rang the bell.

Willow was standing there like forever. Her clothes spread around the room.

Is this good? It’s good. No, it too obvious, like too dress up. Willow thought looking up and down at her outfit on herself that reflected in the mirror.

I need to change...to...what? Willow drop her head, she already tried all clothes on and nothing satified. Some of them are too kiddy and the rest of them are too much. Hello!?? How come you felt nervous with dressing to the bronze? You went there a hundred times before! And it’s easy to dress to go there! It’s not like you’re going to gala dinner or anything. Just dress like...normally you.

But, Tara’s gonna...

Wait...

TARA?

Is this nervous stuff because Tara? OH, Willow...you...

Willow’s mind drifted away. Deep down she knew exactly what had happened. She thought about the first day they met.

~~~~~~~~~
Her feet led to the conversant path of the hallway. Willow walked into the library like she used to do everyday. As she entered the room, passing the large door frame, Her hands that were holding the text books to her chest gripping more tightly, unconsciously. That’s simple reaction from the redhead for what’s in there for her. Actually...it’s who.
The big green eyes quickly scan the quiet room.
SHE’S HERE!
It’d been one week now that this blonde girl had been here since the school started on Monday. Almost every day at lauch break this girl would be there at the same table. And Willow knew that because she’s sort of in here almost of the time. Don’t ask, it’s an obsession. The redhead rolled eyes.
She’s so beautiful. The thought that came out of nowhere surpirsed her and made her lurking eye brows. Huh, She’s sure is. Look at her, all concentrating to those pile of wicked books. Her brows bend in to each other in the most perfect curved. Her bottom lip that were biting down by white teeth show craving for incredible Knowleadge. Her face is like a greek goddess because her cheek bone...WAIT!!! What’s this? What am I doing? I’m all woo and hoo with her beautifulness here. Me was checking out the girl? As in girl was checking out the girl? As in Willow Rosenberg was checking out the girl? OOO-KAY. You got it bad now.
But no one could know better than her. Willow was so hooked up with the blonde image since the first time she saw her, Monday. The blonde just radiated out, Willow could easily saw her. sitting at the table, reading all intellect books like astronomy, mystic, myth, religion and stuff…HEY!!! SO WHAT! I TOOK JUST A LITTLE PEEK!! She’s so interesting...of course based on the books she’s read. And it’s not like I’m a stalker or got it that bad at all.
And it’s Friday now. She must be a new student because I never saw her before. I must missed the news. Which I shouldn’t because I’m the School Newspaper editer, I should know everything. Who she is, where she lives, what she does, what her fav food, what about fav movie or book...er, okay...we back here again. I got it really bad.
The thing was, Willow just really wanted to know the girl. She had been very patient all week. The blonde had been sitting at the same table everyday. And Willow did too, sitting at the same table just next to the blonde’s one, every day. Willow’d felt strangely comfortable by just sitting there, working her stuff and sometime just looked up and saw the back of the blonde...just that could be enough, at first few days, anyway. But when it come to Thursday, the patient Willow began to wearing out of the endurance. She needed to know the girl.
Willow didn’t know why she’s so into this. It’d become a little habit, whenever she walked into the library she began to searching out for the sign of the blonde first before everything. When she saw the girl sitting there, it was some kind of relief and happyness. When she was sitting there, right back from the blonde and took a quick glance, she always saw her blonde sliky hair which always had the good light impacted on. The blonde hair would be all shiny, as the bright yellow light was leaking trough the window certain in perfect path and finally resting effected to her hair. It’s almost like she was having an aura glowing. Willow often ended up staring at the silky blonde until the bell of the lunch break-end rang. It’s so beautiful that seem like it’s there for that propose only, just to make her glow.
Maybe I want to be her friend, badly want it. Willow‘d pondered at that thought days and nights. She found it strange but she decided to put it aside. She just needed to do it. With an unbelievable boldness, she placed her stuff on the same table she always used. Walking to the blonde’s table, Willow took a deep breath.
And today, it’s time. Now or never. I need to know her. I don’t care why anymore. I just...
Before she knew the word slipped out of her lips. Just in time that the blonde looked up to found her standing there.
“Hi..”
And baby blue eyes met her greens.
And that’s it. Willow’s heart stopped.
It took a moment for Willow’s thought to began racing again. Uh, Okay, okay, Just say something nice, good and intellect.
“I noticed you came here everyday?” Willow said. Oh so good move, Rosenberg!
“Y-Yes.” The blonde said. Willow felt like the angel was singing in her ears. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VOICE! Willow couldn’t help but loving it.
“I’m Willow” Willow smiled, reaching out her hand to greet. Oh so manner-like me! I’m all officially serious here!
The blonde responsed, shook Willow hand. How soft. Willow thought.
“Tara.” The blonde said.
“Tara.” The redhead paused a few seconds and nodded slowly. Tara? Oh...Tara....I already love her name. Ta-ra...OK! WILLOW ROSENBERG! STOP YOUR SILLY HEAD NOW! Willow steady her mind and said “I saw you and thought I would just say hi ‘cause you’re here everyday. And you know, I saw you alone here,....much as I am“ Willow chuckled, trying to ease the nervousness. “And maybe, um, well, I thought I would just say hi!” Willow was quite nervous. Gee, I hope she didn’t see me looking all nervous as much as I’ m feeling.
“Um, y-you s-saw me?” Tara said. YES, I SAW YOU! Don’t you know how radiate you are here?...and... Willow steady her mind once more. ‘kay, be cool. Calm down. Just talk.
“I was always sitting there, that table, back yours.” Finally, the redhead was able to communicate.
“Oh,” The replied was soft. “It’s really you.” Tara smiled. “S-scratching paper, typing, writing and sound clever.”
Willow heard that and began to blushed. She felt her cheeks hot and were going to turn into same color as her hair. oh...she always noticed me. And the way she notice me? God...that was just really....so....beautiful. And did she just said I sounded clever? Even My sounds was clever? Oh! now I’m blushing. Willow was searching for Tara blue eyes but they were looking down at the book shyly. Waiting for the blonde to looked up again, Willow smiled with overwhalm feeling.
“You, um, heard me?” She said when their eyes met again.
“Y-yes. It’s you, right? I often hear the sounds of y-your study and typing and, um, s-stuff” Tara said, shyly. Blue eyes had a amazing glinted of shyness blend with excitement.
“Totally yes. You caught me.” Willow said giggling softly. She’s so cute. Willow began to think about the million things that lovely about this girl. She has the most beautiful eyes. It’s blue, no, it’s deep ocean blue. Her voices sing like angel. She has a cute shy smile. She has the lips that so full and kissable....k-k-k-kiss...Oh?...OH! I should know!....I mean....oh....what’s going on? And stop talking in your head already! That beautiful human being need the humanly conversation! Remember how to talk anyway?
“Um, so…” Willow hesitated, the moment slightly turned awkward. What now? I was just got here but if I continue sitting there working behind her again would it be totally awkward?Like what I’ll do next? Like should I continue chatting with her?...even I want to so much. I want to know everything about her but wouldn’t it be like totally weird and pushy a-and uncool? And beside I couldn’t consentrate on the work anymore. I’ll be like totally staring at her shining hair again and now she will totally know that. Oh god! I’m such a dork...I need to say something...
“Um, so there, you Tara, me Willow. We know each other now. And I would just let you be alone again, because, um, I have a class.” A CLASS? Couldn’t think of any better ungeek reason? “Which I shouldn t missed cause I never missed any class.” There you go, duh, geek much? “And you might want to be alone because I might interrupted your reading and, and library was no place for talking. I was just…” Willow trailed off, she need to stop babbling before Tara think she’s such a big dork.
But instead...she found Tara’s lovely smiled.
“A class in order, I-I know.” Tara said and Willow could only nodded. She lost herself to that smile, completely.
After that, it felt like time was frozen. They kept staring in each other eyes and just lost for the moment. Willow knew how strange it was to keep nodding and grinning like a fool there but it felt too good to stop. She just wanted to lost in this emotion. The moment passed about a half-minute until Willow decided to stop being silly and spoke up. I must having the sillest grining right now and really this girl might have something better to do than keep staring with a fool grinning like me. Willow mocked herself.
“Uh, Tara..., well,” Willow let out a breath she don t know she was holding then made a resolve face. It’s time to go, just for no anyway. “I’ll see you later.” Willow said with a smile. She just being glad that she actually did greet Tara finally, after watching her for all week.
“Bye, Willow, nice to a-actually know y-you.” Tara replied.
Willow nodded and grinned. She walked back to gathering her stuff from the table behind the blonde. As when Willow made her way out of the library, she walked pass Tara. She wanted it so bad to turned her head and look at the blonde again as if saying goodbye for one last time. Come on, Willow! Just a last glance...No! it’s too much. Like oh, how I’m longing to see you again. Like in those romance movies. It’s too much! She’s gonna think that I’m flirting or something. But really, talk to her is flirting already! Oh? NO-no for flirting just friendly conversation. Oh,come on,...it’s just a last glance...
Willow’s mind raced until she was about to do as her instinct told. But her head fought better, she just walked out of the room and let instinct melt away.
Do not RISK anything right now. You need to calm down about this or you’d risk strange everyone out.
~~~~~

Willow was standing froze infront of the mirror. She is, infact...really know it better than anyone.

Lord know I did risk it all since the first time I talked to her.

After that Friday, Tara’s enrolled classes had managed to finally fit into its places. It appeared that, their classes was almost the same so they saw each other in almost every classes and almost everyday and almost everytime. With so many times spent together, it’s not that Willow was gonna complain.

Willow knew that she had some sort of special feeling for Tara. All the time she told herself that it s just that the blonde is her best friend, really one and only Tara, the best friend.

That didn’t explain how everything about her were so speacial. What about Buffy and Faith? They are your best friends too. Then why Tara is so speacial out of them? Like you could feel everything about her. Like when her emotion shifted, even oh so slightly, you will always notice it? Like even before she became your best friend, before you’ll know everything about each other, she always be speacial one. The one that you would look for everytime you enteredr the library, the class room, the cafeteria or even school. How you are going to explain this?...

Willow walked slowly to her bed and sank herself on it.

Or even better, how are you going to hide it?

Willow was not a fool. She knew what this sort of feelings were for. She’s just....unsure.

This world has too much to afraid of, anger, hate and despair. Do I ready to become out of it? I am risking our friendship here. Risking Tara out of my life. Risking the most important thing in my life.

The clever girl didn’t really know how to react with this so called feeling that was growing stronger day by day. She did her best to keep it down. Hid it good. The one reason was that it’s new to her. She’s not even sure what to do with the feeling. And she just felt vulnerable and afraid. Because, even though Tara was very understanding and caring, would she be understanding all these shaken feelings inside her?

I need to understand it first before I will say anything.

While it’s shaken now how could I dare to declare it firmly.

I need to be sure.

Or that I’m just running away.

Or I’m just chicken out.

Or...

DING-DONG

“Oh god! She’s here!” Willow exclaimed out loud. Paced to the window and looked outside to found charming chevy car parking infront of her house.

The redhead turned to the mirror, checked her outfit once more. Frown to herself in the mirror, she wanted to change it to something eles.

DING-DONG

But there was no time anymore, Tara was waiting. So, Willow just hurried out of the room just to stopped at the door. Nervous to opened it.

Ok, it’s nothing new here. That’s Tara. Your friend. Pick you up for the night at The Bronze.

Willow sighed softly. She needed to stop her heart pounding almost everytime she’s near Tara and sometime it’s just too much. Sometime it’s look like it’s going to burst out when it’s getting bigger and bigger and…bigger.

JUST DO IT!

With that, her hand turned the doorknob, opened the door to found Tara stood there.

....

....

….

Willow’s heart stop.

Tara was in her black shirt and jeans, looking so chill. Willow couldn’t help but staring at her black top that had a low cut , exposing her while delicate skin.

“Hi.” Tara said.

“…Hi.” Willow replied in almost faint voice.

Willow green eyes drag down to the jean. It was clad to Tara’s legs in the most wonderful manner. The redhead unconsciously licked her lips.

“So...um...” Willow slowly looked up at the blue eyes and looked down at the creamy flesh that sneaked out of the shirt again

“So...we...” Tara was really aware that Willow was just checking her out. The blonde blushed because of intense feeling her friend was giving her. She, herself couldn’t help but start checking the slim figure that was standing infront of her too.

Jesus! Rosenberg! Eyes! Eyes in the good place. Willow exclaimed in her head. Making a nervous chuckle, she darted her eyes up to Tara’s face just to found that blue eyes was staring intensely at her tummy.

Tara was really couldn’t resist when she notice what was Willow wearing. The redhead was in her black tank top that cut short and cover her body from the night’s cold air by the brown cardigan jacket. Below was the dark navy skirt that covered to the few inch below the knees. And boots? Oh...god, she looks so beautiful. Tara thought to herself. And really, at first it was just checking out the girl but then her eyes just couldn’t leave Willow’s tummy. Um...okay, that flat white creamy tummy is really seducing me! Hello there! Having fun enough with her own thought, the blonde finally realise she’s staring and looked up to Willow’s beautiful face again. KINKY ME! Giving the smirk like there’s nothing happen before, Tara said. “So, we are going then?”

“ Ah, yes. Thanks for picking me up.” Tara’s voice stirred Willow up. The redhead then closed the door.

“ No biggie.” Tara said with a half smiled and turned around back to her car. Willow followed her. The green eyes once again drifted down lower. Willow swallowed hard when she saw how nice that jean was cupping Tara’s ass. Suddenly, The blonde turned back to faced her friend again as if she wanted to say something. Willow was busying trying to act all innocent with a smile so she wasn’t really preparing to what Tara was going to say.

Tara grinned, hasitated then she got really bold feeling to say it, the word.

“ You look b-..good” Tara said. The ‘beautiful’ word dissapeared in her throat because the shyness and instead she said ‘good’

Willow was stunned and a bit surprised by the compliment. Especially from a girl like Tara that don’ t express much feeling infront of anyone. Willow was pause for few seconds, blushing. Wow, it’s a compliment, for me. Uh, to the dress I thought I should change. And why am I blushing? Friend do this all the time. They, um...compliment each other? Finally let out the sigh, Willow nodded as thanks her.

“Thank you.” Willow smiled, shyly. For a second she thought that Tara was going to say ‘beautiful’ but ‘good’ are fine, more than fine actually. “You too. Nice...a...jean!” Willow smiled with her eyes wide. Damn! Did I just about to say ‘ass’ ? obsess much? Hell to teenager monkey-rabbit hormone! I should be in Russia!!!

With the compliment back, Tara grinned back, blushed furiously. The blonde hoped the tiny dim night light of the moon would cover up her cheeks color to be invisible.

Then there’s a quiet moment that was cozy rather than awkward. The two knew they had just finished one of their little ‘more than friend’ conversation. Not by the words but by the feeling that drift lazily through them. Month after month, it’d became so fimiliar with and comfortable with to say such things. With a little shyness but still comforting.

Yes, month after month, they stopped questioning why should they say such a ‘more than friend’ thing to each other anymore.

Leading Willow to the car, Tara secretly smiled happily inside her heart. Willow, no different, was begin to swell up with the happiness. It’s just the thing they had together whenever they neared.

After the two already in their seat, Tara started the engine up. The blonde reached the radio, hit the cd botton and the song began to play, softly.

“ Don't stray, don't ever go away

I should be much too smart for this

You know it gets the better of me

Sometimes, when you and I collide

I fall into an ocean of you,

pull me out in time

Don't let me drown,

let me down

I say it's all because of you”

Locking the seat belt, Tara looked up and found Willow was turning her head to looking at her too, grinning. Gave back the soft smile, Tara turned her head back to the road ahead.

“ And here I go, losing my control

I'm practicing your name so I can say it to your face

It doesn't seem right, to look you in the eye

Let all the things you mean to me

Come tumbling out my mouth

Indeed it's time to tell you why

I say it's infinitely true “

Grabbed the streering wheel, Tara began driving two of them out of Willow’s home.

“ Say you'll stay, don't come and go

Like you do

Sway my way, yeah I need to know

All about you

And there's no cure, and no way to be sure

Why everything's turned inside out

Instilling so much doubt

It makes me so tired - I feel so uninspired

My head is battling with my heart

My logic has been torn apart

And now it all turns sour

Come sweeten every afternoon

It's all because of you

It's all because of you “

Once again, life didn’t seem to be so bad when they realize that just then, right then was what they had and that they should cherished every moment of it. Once again, the feelings that they’d been pondering were about to put aside and filled with the moment that was beyond their control and being. And once again they just yet couldn’t understand why.

” Now it all turns sour, come sweeten every afternoon

It's time to tell you why, I say it's infinitely true

It's all because of you

It's all because of you

It's all because of you “

THE ELEMENTS >>>

Chapter1_c : Are we going to do this?

At The Bronze, people were gathering up, as always. But tonight, it’s especially crowded, contained many of Sunnydale High School Students than usual. Most of them were waiting for the band. Actaully, they’re waiting for Faith and the band. Faith didn’t like the idea of being only spotlighted in the band but she was sort of secretly pround though.

Tara and Willow arrived when the place was almost full. They sat at a little table in the corner because all the good tables were already occupied. It was Tara’s 2nd time here and the blonde got all nervous but she wasn’t really sure that it was because she’s still new to the place or that Willow was nearby her side. They odered the drinks, actually it’s just 2 glass of blue soda because it’s just the-killing-time-drink. It’s just about half an hour before Faith would come and they decided to stay sober.

Buffy arrived a bit later because she was too busy picking her clothes. She changed them more than ten times, just when she felt she should dress nicely, because it’s Faith’s big day. That’s all. Well, at least that what she thought. So, she arrived in her best pants and high heel boot and nice pastel top. A place was fimiliar to her, within so many people she could easily saw her friends and joined the table.

Buffy had a little time to ease a bit because when she arrived it’s about 15 minutes before the performance. People started gathering up at the dance floor just infront of the stage area. The three company had no hesitation to move there. They didn’t want to watch Faith from far behind, anyway.

So, there they were. A few feet far from in front of the stage. Getting all excited and happy.

Not for too long, Faith came in with the band, the student crowded cheered. Making her way pass to the backstage room, along with so many people, Faith easily saw Buffy’s radiant. The blonde cheerleader stood there, waving gleefully, with Tara and Willow cheered behind. Faith half smiled back. Soon, the band dissapeared to backstage.

“This is so cool” Tara laughed happily.

“Yeah, I couldn’t believe it when she told me in the morning class.” Willow said, couldn’t stop smiling. She was just so happy with her friend. “And wow! Look at the crowd!!!” Willow wrote the note in her memo.

“What are you doin’ ?“ Buffy asked in curiousness.

“Oh? This? Gotta keep up with the moment and all. This could be a big topic of new issue.” Willow waved the memo. Buffy grinning, nodded in respond.

“Newspaper? I thought it’s gonna be about psychic stuff.” Tara asked, teasing. Willow often changed the topic in the last minute just when she thought it’s more interesting.

Huh? Oh god, I totally forgot it and now she knows! Willow got all panicky about her secretive power and it was showing on her face.

“Willow?“ Tara was worried. Did I say something wrong? “I’m just kidding, me no quesioning your work here.” Tara lifted her hands up as in defeating.

“Oh! I know, I know” Willow waved her hand like she’s totally cool with it. Oh god, she doesn’t know. Now she’s going to think I’m weird. “I was thinking that maybe changing the subject for the best, cuz that stuff can wait. But this!!! This is so cool!“ Willow said with big eyes. Then laughed nervously as if to coverd things up. Tara nodded, grinning when she felt everything was fine.

“Super cool.” Tara said, looking around the place.

“I know, She’s so...” Buffy paused when the light went dark and bright spotlight came on the stage. The manager came out.

“Hello! Thanks for coming here tonight! “ The crowd cheered. The manager gave a big smile. Money was coming in and it’s good. “Tonight we have a speacial performance. From the Sunnydale High. They rock more than any bands who used to played here. I think!” The crownd are cheering more. “BECAUSE, Look at the place!!! WE ARE LOSING IT!!! “ He was getting unnessary excited and he continued lamely “Okay, let me talk no more.” He drew his hand at the stage. “ It’s all ready. Give it up to ‘Five By Five’ !!!“

The light went darkening again. Then the sound of the guitar came, lightly acoustic, but still, it darkened. But a few seconds later the sound of electric guitar came. The tempos were speed up, the spotlight was suddenly on and it was spotting to Faith.

“So...beautiful.“ Buffy was jaw dropped, whispering to herself. Willow heard that and lurked her eyebrows surpisingly. Buffy said Faith is beautiful? Lately, the redhead often noticed the words of compliment between the two such as ‘I think it’s cool‘, ‘nice shirt‘, ‘that hair looks good on you‘, ‘I think what you did was totally amazing’, ‘way to go girl, that’s sexy‘ and such. But ‘Beautiful’? Whoa! She never heard that one before.

But to no question. It was true. She’s rock. In her hot leather pants and doc boots. It’s making Faith so glamerous. Add with the guitar which looked good on her so much. The crowd went wild as the music grew harder. They danced, they cheered, they threw themselve over to the music.

Buffy was there, froze in her feet. Faith was so amazing. She never thought that her friend would be so appealing like this. Maybe it was the music that made it strange. Anyway, thought were slowly left her brain as she began to let herself to the rhythm of Faith’s guitar. The blonde closed her eyes. Let herself drifted away.

Faith on the other hand was really out of focus in what she supposed to do next. Her dark brown eyes were fixed on Buffy’s movement . Ah...she’s...doing that again! Moving with the music!!! For Faith, it’s getting the most of her. She didn’t know why but everytime the tiny blonde started to move with the music, it’s gonna distract her. Whenever, wherever, like cheering at the games or dancing at The Bronze. It’s just...too...sensual!

Faith closed her eyes and tried to focus on the music. Swallowing hard as she opened her eyes and sang.

“I would die for you

I would die for you

I've been dying just to feel you by my side

To know that you're mine"

The beats were trobbing in the ears. The light changed, covering all the stage, revealed the rest of the band. But Faith was really stunning to everyone eyes. On the other hand, Faith eyes were trying to focused to a small face in dim light far away in the back of the crowd. Trying not to laid her gaze on Buffy but finally she did. Oh... was all Faith could think at the moment she let her gaze dropped on the blonde. Buffy was there and at the moment Faith looked at her, she snapped her eyes open. Green eyes met brown ones and Faith had to swallowed hard again and sang.

"I will cry for you

I will cry for you

I will wash away your pain with all my tears

And drown your fear

I will pray for you

I will pray for you

I will sell my soul for...

...

...

...”

Faith let the band played on. Her fingers still doing guitary but her voice stopped. Another band's members were glaring at Faith in horror as they kept playing.

But the brunette seemed to really out of it.

Faith's brain started to progressing in a very strange way. Buffy still stared straight to her eyes. The blonde knew in her heart, she’s making a stare that maybe a bit too obvious, too intense. But she just didn’t want to tear her gaze away.

Faith, play for me. The thought came out of nowhere. But it said in Buffy’s mind, once but loud.

The brunette singer felt like she was on the edge. The movement, the gaze and the stare, it’s just too much for her brain, especially while she was playing the guitar and singing and need to be thinking at the same time. Not to mention that she secretly admitted that she was excited with all this first REAL performance thing. And now Buffy was all over her mind. Her thought. Her brain. She didn’t really know what happenned. It’s Buffy! Her best friend! Why she got all giddy feeling like this. Why now? Or that it was going on a while but she didn’t notice. Or worse, had she been denied it? Is it going to be this way, B? Faith thought. You’re going to do this to me? Faith thought again, staring back. Afterall, she wasn’t the one who’s going to hid her gaze or broke it first.

Faith finally managed to smile wickedly. Then, Buffy, hear me. Faith finished her thought, stopped her fingers that were playing the guitar and grabbed the microphone just in time the rhythm of the verse began.

“See your face every place that I walk in

Hear your voice every time I am talking

You will believe in me

And I will never be ignored”

All the times she sang, their eyes never leave each other.

And it’s just too much too obvious.

“I will burn for you

Feel pain for you

I will twist the knife and bleed my aching heart

And tear it apart”

Tara was the first to noticed what was going on. She started staring back and forth between her two friends. Well, that’s...

Willow quickly caught up Tara’s reaction and followed the gaze. When noticed what was happening, the redhead smirked and turned her head to Tara who then lurked her eyebrows and made a mug face. Willow smiled with her wide green eyes and jokingly made a jaw dropped face. The two giggled amusedly but stopped at the rhythm got even harder. The beats of the drum and bass dance thickly in them.

“I will lie for you

Beg and steal for you

I will crawl on hands and knees until you see

You're just like me”

The two exchanged the expressions for just a few seconds but it quickly hit them. There they were, thinking about the possibility of kisses and gay loving way between Faith and Buffy. Would Faith and Buffy go for it? What’s going on really? Were Faith and Buffy having a feeling for each other? Were those stares is beyond friendly stare?

“Violate all the love that I'm missing

Throw away all the pain that I'm living

You will believe in me

And I can never be ignored”

Then what about themselve? How far they were willing to go for it? When were they going to made the move? Was it even half intense to what happened just before? Was there really a feeling?

OH...YES IT IS. Their minds whispered in unison.

Both girls blushed at the situation. Not really sure they were thinking the same thing, they turned back to the stage and fixed their gaze on Faith instead.

Faith hands were back to the guitar, playing the last verse. The feeling lossen up a bit. Faith noticed Willow and Tara eyes on her, she winked at them. They giggled back and moved with the music.

“I would die for you

I would kill for you

I will steal for you

I'd do time for you

I would wait for you

I'd make room for you

I'd sail ships for you

To be close to you

To be a part of you

'Cause I believe in you”

Faith played and sang the last part of the song sensually, eyeing Buffy one last time.

“I believe in you”

Buffy smiled back. Faith let her voice sank low.

“I would die for you....”

And the song ended. The three best friends clapped their hands up high. It was all so happy and wonderful. Faith heard that the crowd were cheering so loud, she thought the building was ganna collaspe. Being Faith, she just said.

“Thank you very much. That’s the our cover of Garbage’s track, ‘1#crush’. We make it more harder when it even harden already. And not to wasted anytime, here’s next song. It’s our original.“

The three best friends noticed how Faith looked really happy because it was showing in her eyes. Buffy chuckled, Faith was so Faith, hardly smile, to really really smile. But she knew her friend was happy.

Faith turned back and gave a sign to the drummer.

****************

Ah...this is such a pleasure to be here. Here I am drinking my second glass of beer slowly.

Well, for now, it looks like a relaxing time for me.

The wind was just started her second song. I already noticed another elements in the crowd. They sure have radiant aura. Which is bad in a way, bad things will notice them easier.

The place is so dim because it’s serving the propose of the performance. I need to be extra carefully examinated around the place. Afterall, ghost always hide in the shadow.

And...hey?

Hey!

Previously on The Element: The Series

Quote:
The place is so dim because it’s serving the propose of the performance. I need to be extra carefully examinated around the place. Afterall, ghost always hide in the shadow.

And...hey?

Hey!

HEY!

What in bloody hell is that?!!!

And now continue with girls in action! :drool ( Bad gramma update apologize. )

Chapter 1_c : Are we going to do this?

It was all really slow motion to Buffy’s eyes. That weird looking creature jumped down from the top floor of the building. It was all rotten, wet skin, and it looked really bad. It had horrible three heads which blended almost together. Its eyes all big and redden. Not sick redden like but sort of crystal redden. Its mouth and teeth mashed too bad you couldn’t tell what’s what. When its big feet touched the ground between the crowds, it echoed so loud in the blonde cheerleader’s ears.

“Ouch!” Buffy lifted her hands to covering her ears.

“Ouch!” The same expression from Faith.

Willow switched into panic mode. She was stunned by the creature and, Faith and Buffy were all ears hurting now, what’s going on? What’s she going to do?

As if it was all instinct, Willow grabbed Tara wrist and swung the shock blonde behind her. The redhead stepped up, ready to protecting her friend. Looking back at Buffy, she asked “Buff, are you okay?!!”

“Huh?” Her ears were still ringing.

“You! The ears! Are they okay?” Willow repeated.

“Oh...okay! “ The ringing started to fade away. Buffy was gaining an ability to focusing on what’s going on again and she mouthed in silent “What the heck is that?!!?”

The crowds were all silent. Their shock-ness mixed with wonder-ness that maybe that was involved the performance. Tara hand tugged tightly at Willow’s jacket. Buffy looked up to Faith questioningly. The band was now stopped and the brunette just frown her brows and shaking her head slowly to Buffy.

Then, the screaming broke from the top floor. Everybody looked up to the half balcony floor above. The man, his body all soaked with blood walked to the iron fence. He winced, “It...” pointing to the weird creature and fell down from the top floor to smack with the floor below just as the crowds backed away quickly. The woman, who owned the scream before, did it again in painful shock then ran away, disappeared from the speechless gazes of the crowds.

“Shit! “ Faith exclaimed. Her voice was being sent through the microphone by no intention. The voice cracked loud in high ring and echoing to the entire silent place.

And that’s it. The chaos broke out. The crowds were all screaming, crying, running away, smacking into each other, trying to get away from the building. The creature snarled and starts attacking on people.

As soon as it happening, the place was soon empty. People were quickly found their ways out. Left only four best friends, that nearly dead man and a few people who’s in injured condition and couldn’t run anymore, they just slowly crept out of the place, crying.

The demon stood still now, just looking at the girls in puzzle, because there they were, standing in front of it and didn’t run away. The animal instinct told that these were enemies not the victims.

To Willow, it’s not like she didn’t want to run away. It just happened to quickly and she just shocked, froze in her feet. Tara, on the other hand, her mind was racing fast. She was thinking about what her mom used to teach before. Maybe her little force of magic could do something. Her head down, her eyes look through her hair that now covering her face to the demon. Her hand was still tugging tightly at Willow’s jacket.

Buffy was stunned by what happening. She kept looking back and froth between that bloody soaked man and the rotten creature before her. It snarled once more and stepped toward them. Faith was near losing it. The demon looked like one in her dream. But once it stepped toward her friends, she jumped from the stage and ran to them. The brunette stopped in front of the girls.

“Faith! No!” Buffy screamed.

But quicker, Faith punched it in the face.

“Eww!” Faith cried, the fist was more sunk into its jelly rotten face than it should be hitting the demon, and it was kind of stuck in there.

“Take this! “ The man’s voice came. Before they knew whose, the two snooker cues flew to them. Buffy’s hand and Faith’s another free hand grabbed it perfectly. They lurked the eyebrows, surprised by their actions. It was just quick, fast, well respond and it’s like their strange instincts were waking up, second by second. They focused and found that the man was their English teacher.

“C+ teacher!” Buffy exclaimed. Mr.Giles narrowed his eyes at that clarification.

“Mr. Giles!“ Tara whispered in amazement.

Faith shook her surprising off. Pulled her fist out of its face and joined another hand on the cue. She grabbed the snooker cue in her hands tightly, balancing her strength and hit it right between its front head. The demon was taken aback for a half second and started to fight back. It swung its right arm and fist to Faith. But she quickly lowed herself so the fist flew through to Buffy who was standing behind her. The fist sent Buffy to the wall behind them.

“Buffy!” They all screamed. Buffy smacked to the wall hard, but quickly she got up. Standing a little daze but she didn’t looked hurt at all.

“Buffy!” They screamed again, this time because they surprised by the tiny blonde’s supernatural strength. Buffy just shrug and patted the dust out of her expensive pants.

“Shit, I’m sorry…” Faith said but fixed it when she saw Buffy was more than okay. “…Or not.”

Quickly the demon ran toward Buffy way. It didn’t care who was going to die first, it just needed to kill them all off. And this blonde looked so challenging, in a way.

Willow started to back away slowly, taking Tara with her.

Faith paced herself and hit it in the back, where it’s three heads ended and there were no red eyes seeing her. It turned to the brunette girl and started to switch its attention to her. The fight began. Buffy quickly joined her.

The two fighter surprised to their awakening instincts that were now fully in active. The blast feeling they had from fighting it running in them. It’s like they were letting go some kind of steam energy that they’d been holding inside for too long. The demon was really fast and scary but it only urged them higher and wanted more. But it’s the first time for them; the unbelievably strong girls kept fighting as best as they could, but the demon started to win them over. Soon, they energy faded. Inhumanly, fist after fist from the creature began to hit on the target more than their snooker cues could harm.

That’s when Willow stopped backing her feet and that’s when Tara also noticed the redhead was chanting something.

“Willow...” Tara said with breath. “You....” her head began to dazzle.

“Frozen, Frozen, Frozen....” Willow kept chanting. Her green eyes look straight to that creature. Tara was trying to focus even though her focus began to blur. The fragile figure of the redhead beside her began to cover with some kind of aura light. Tara shifted her dazzling gaze to Giles and found him standing alert and nodded to her. Tara puzzled by all what happening, all reaction. Mr. Giles was being there. There were her two friends fighting with something evilly. And Willow was all chanting and her head dazzling.

Clearing her mind, she needed to be concentrate. Tara slowly understood what Willow was about to do. She closed her blue eyes slowly. How and why doesn’t matter anymore.

Allowing her hand to reach Willow’s, their hands perfectly clasp fit. The fingers entwine. Willow slowly turned gaze to Tara. The green eyes met blue ones and suddenly the spark bolt energy surged through them. The two felt like the wave of energy ran through them, softly yet firmly surging them aback on their feet. All the time their eyes never leave each other. Looking deep to Willow’s emerald eyes, Tara whispered. “Glacialis.”

“Glacialis.” Willow repeated. Her eyes shown the question but it soon replaced by the amazement gaze.

“Glacialis.” This time, their voices came together.

Suddenly, the purple energy covered them and burst into the wide circle and hit the demon.

The fast demon froze in its feet. Its red eyes grew bigger in panic and fury. Buffy took a chance to stick the snooker cue into its heart. The demon roared with pain but its eyes began to sparking with inside force and looked like it was going shoot them with some laser from those six eyes. Faith quickly continued Buffy’s attacking. She stuck the snooker cue into its head. Well, at least she pick the head that biggest, the front one. The demon’s body stopped for a second then shaking terribly. Just in time the purple energy loosen, the demon collapse to the floor. The purple glitters of energy lingered in the air, then slowly drifted down and faded away.

Buffy looked at Faith, stunning. The brunette was then snapped out of her own stun and winked at her friend. They turned to the dead creature in front of them.

“That’s...” Faith didn’t sure what to say.

“Yuck! “ Buffy finished.

“Sure yuck, and damn ruining my night! “ Faith said in afflict and walked to Willow and Tara.

The tired girls were still holding each other hands and looking deep into each other eyes. It’s amazing to what they just did. Tara aware that the magic which gave her dazzling head at the school was Willow’s, because it gave her the same feeling of delicate, strong, pure and uncontrolling. She felt so velvety in her mind. It was beyond any words. How she anchored Willow’s strong power, to keep it still and constant until it emerged gracefully then it burst out to froze that demon.

The energy was so powerful and they never experience any kind of magical force through them before. So many questions building up inside their hearts. So many memories played up. So many feeling flew through them.

Buffy followed Faith and then they noticed that the English teacher was still standing there with strange proud expression on his face. Both girls frowned.

“Coffee? Anyone?“ He suggested, smiling. Very inappropriately to the situation.

Alright, anyway, update and it's the end for Chapter One too. Sorry for bad spelling and grammar as always. :blush

Quote:
Previously on The Elements: The Series

Buffy followed Faith and then they noticed that the English teacher was still standing there with strange proud expression on his face. Both girls frowned.

“Coffee? Anyone?“ He suggested, smiling. Very inappropriately to the situation.

AND THE UPDATE

“Whoa! That’s a whole lotta crap!” Faith threw her hand in the air as if to dismiss what she’d heard before. “Um, excuse me? Mr. Giles, if that’s your real name.” She snorted. “But that was totally...out of mind?” The brunette narrowed her eyes.

Rupert Giles took his glasses off and rubbed it with his shirt. “I-It...” He trailed off as he realized, this wasn’t going to be easy because well…, it wasn’t easy. “Well, it’s true. The truth is I am here to convince you to work for us. U-Um, compromise. Um, begging?” He said, looking like he’s in torment; having to sit there, doing his job and this brunette girl wasn’t helping any.

There they were outside The Bronze. At the coffees shop across the street from The Bronze. They already ordered the coffee and now they were sitting at the table near the limpid glass window. Faith with her lips curled downward, was looking a little too upset. Buffy, sat beside her brunette friend with her blank face, was trying to understand the situation. Sitting across those two was Willow, who’s getting all excited about what just happened. Near her was Tara who was looking a bit too calm for this wacky situation. And then, it’s Rupert Giles who now had a mixed expression in his face, from exciting to tormenting.

“Can’t you believe this guy?” Faith turned to Buffy, then to everyone. “Can we believe this?”

“Mr. Giles...I just want to get this correct.” Tara cut in, trying to ease the situation. “You said we’re four elements? Buffy is the earth, Faith is the wind, Willow is the fire...a-and I’m the water?” She paused, glared as Faith who was rolling her eyes. “Who...destined to fight together?” She tried to take it slow.

“Yes.” Giles put his glasses back on. “It’s destined for you to meet each other, living here in this town, above Hellmouth.”

“Okay, you mean...” The blonde paused; her blue eyes widen “H-H-Hellmouth!!! “

“What’s it?” Willow asked; curious by Tara’s reaction.

“I-it’s really scary thing, Willow. H-Hellmouth...as I read from…some book...It’s a mojo jojo for all evil bad thingy force and…, you know, like a hole, b-black hole that releasing bad spirit and trying to suck everything in at the same time. And if this town is located on it, it’s mean...” Tara paused, she felt too much for word. Since kid, she’d acknowledged about Hellmouth from her mother and she knew what it could do to the world. She wanted to just tell everyone that she knew it. She could sense it. She knew it’s real. This was all real. It bizarre but it’s real. Her mother taught her all of these. But she just kept quiet; somehow she didn’t ready to talk about her mother that will lead to some question about her suffer family. “It’s mean...”

“Chaos.” Giles finished for her. “Tara, you’re good about all this. But I’m not surprised, you have been learning things since you were kid from your...” Giles said with a proud smiled but when he’s about to saying ‘mother’ he saw Tara looked down at her coffee cup like she’s want to hide immediately. So, instead, he said, “Book, a lot of books. And...”

“Ha! Books, those myth books! But it’s a myth! It’s not real.” Faith interrupted. She’d seen Tara busying all those books since she knew her. And she thought it’s just plain old craps “HEY! By the way, why did you know about her childhood anyway?” Faith glared.

Willow was racking her brain in something odd about Tara here. Tara seemed too calm about all this. The redhead didn’t want to suspect much. After all, Tara had been reading stuff, which meant she would understand it more than anyone, which also explained the Latin word Tara said when they did that froze spell. She must have read it from somewhere. Willow nodded to herself as this conclusion.

“I know all about you.” Giles took a sip at his coffee before continued “Like I said. I’m your watcher. I’ve been studied about you since I’ve started this job, 20 years ago. I know everything, um, not that everything. Just basic things like your hometown, your childhood’s friend, your family, your schools and such.”

“Stalker much?” Faith muttered, slumping herself against the seat.

“But I didn’t really SAW you. I just studied about you from the books at the council. You’re like famous people there and they’ve been keeping your records about stuff. Now, don’t ask me how they got it because I don’t know.” Giles explained, trying to get away.

“I don’t even wanna know about the stuff they’ve been recording about me.” Faith shook her head. She wondered that it must be all about the mess she had made.

Willow chuckled “I thought you know everything. You’re like ‘Mr. I’m All Knowledge And Serious Giles’ at school.”

“Oh. Well, the council, their works are quite secretive and mysterious. I’m just about level 5 and those above 7th level are permitted to know just about everything.” Giles said, looking a little embarrassed. Tara nodded in understanding.

“So, Hellmouth....” Willow began. “This is why there were such strange things happened at night. And the towns thought those perfect crimes were done by human. Was it because these demons? Was it because them that so many people got hurt or even died in this town?” She was beginning to get all this quicker than anyone.

“Well, actually most of it that happened in the night time were. I guess you’re not surprising at all at that fact.” Giles sipped more coffee.

“You could say that. As the editor of school newspaper I can’t say that I’m not interest in those crimes scene. Most of them got me curious about the criminals who did them because they looked like they weren’t done by human. Well, if it makes any sense of what I’m trying to say.” Willow gave her reasons. Faith goggled at Willow; was her friend getting serious about this craps? For real?

“Now, Mr. Giles, back on the chaos.” Willow who now fully on the newspaper mode, said. “Here you are, telling us about the council, the elements, Hellmouth, the dark force and that we have to fight them. Seriously, how you expect us to believe and more over, how you expect me to take this job to fight them, I mean they just ewww, scary and yuck!” The redhead made a face. “And we are just four girls.” She finished with puppy dog eyes.

Tara giggled. Willow sounded too cute when she said that. Even Buffy and Faith couldn’t help grinning. But Giles went way too serious about all this.

“You can fight them! Four are more than enough. It just had been proven before in The Bronze! You fought that demon and it’s bloody dead by the hand of yours!” Giles looked proud again. “Look, it’s your decision if you’re about to take the job or not. It requires a lot of responsibility. I’m not going to say that it’s easy to do this job. I’ve seen it. It’s gonna be bad, someone will got hurt, sick, taken or die.” The man finished before he realized he’d said too much and now Willow was all glaring in awe.

“I’m not afraid of that.” Faith shrugged, looking much careless.

“Oh? You don’t? I do!” Willow almost yelled with her face frowned. Her green eyes grew wider. Tara saw that and reached her hand to touch Willow’s knee, smiling warmly in attempt to reassure her. As Tara withdrew her hand, the redhead sat still. It’s just for a brief moment but Tara’s touch felt burning like fire, and it made she felt like suddenly stumbled over her thought. The redhead amazed how this burning touch felt like filling her in someway. Meeting Tara warm smiled, the green eyes soften somewhat.

But really, who was it that didn’t afraid of dying? Faith was crazy.

“Well, we all died someday.” Faith shrugged again and lurked her eyebrows conceivably when she finally realized that she had just invested in the story and was just having a reaction to these so-called craps. So she quickly continued. “What I want to say is, it sounds so lame and so ‘day-time-sci-fi-Captain Planet cartoon show’ It’s just....I can’t believe this is real...” She paused and continued when she realized something “Oh my god! We do be Captain Planet! I’m the wind. Oh! Do we get the rings? Please, we want the rings.” Faith said in mocking tiny voice.

“Look! Please believe! You have just killed one!” Giles stressed his voice as he was getting annoyed by Faith’s reaction. “And don’t mock The Elements! It’s rude! The Elements have been inherited in generation after generation for about thousand years. So...don’t...” Giles was trying to form an uneasy smile while he said all this.

Faith made a mock horror face and looked out of the window. She wanted to just go away from this mess. It’s getting more complicated after second by second. If anyone would know, her life was complicated enough.

“One question.” Willow changed the subject. “Why suddenly this demon shown itself in public? I mean, if after all, they’re all like hiding in the dark and waiting for the victims. Why broke into The Bronze when there were so many people. Wasn’t it a bit...out of order?” Willow intrigued.

“One answer. You drowned it. That demon had animal instinct root. It used its instinct to prey. Now, we don’t see a lot of them wandering around in town. Most of them live in another dimension. The reason why it was there might be because someone woke it, created it or sent it here, to this town. Which is scary to think of, because this person might still be in town and maybe...this person knows your presence and wanting to harm you. Because you know, this kind of demon will sense your being and haunt you. It’s just the way it is. By now your power is getting stronger from Tara’s now in town. The dark force will sense the elements aura easier and will have no hesitation to attack you, harm you or...kill you.” Giles finished a long explanation.

“Eww, we’re like a demon magnet then? “ Willow repelled.

“Don’t worry, almost of your job will be like killing vampires. They’re easy.” Giles grinned.

“Vampire?!” Buffy exclaimed, thinking about her dream.

“Wow.” Tara said, nodding almost to herself. “And wow...I guess there’re a lot to learn and talk about.” From all she had learnt about it since she was little, considering it’s just a story and myth but to actually doing it or about to doing it…it’s just strangely fascinating.

“You will learn. “ Giles replied.

Then they all got really quiet. The cops started to arrive at The Bronze. Willow shook her head slightly, Sunnydale cops were hopeless like the food in the school’s cafeteria. They hardly solve any case. And always, always arrive late. Sometime they even lost the evidences. Very hopeless, indeed.

“I’m sorry to ask this but really, are we going to die fighting them?” Buffy finally said something after her silent mode end. She just needed sometime to think about it before she could react and now she’s done with thinking.

“Yes, you said ‘inherit’...that means there were death elements and now we’ve inherited the power” Willow added. “Someone gotta die before this. “

“No!...not really. Don’t worry. I mean, you have the potentials to fight. When you fight together, you will be really strong. You have the potentials just to beat everything. And...No...you’re not going to died.” Giles paused, looking down at his coffee cup. The fact was he saw it before, previous elements. They died. That’s why these girls were born to continue their task. For the moments the girls saw somber swept through his expression and he looked sadden for a little. “It’s just...well, there’d have the elements in every generations but, but...we’ll learn about all these later. So, right now...just thinking about what I’ve just said and you should let me know if...you know...what your decision is.”

Giles tried to talk his way out, confusing them so he won’t scare them off. After all he needed them to take the responsibility. It sounded selfish to ignored the fact they could die doing the job, but they could be selfish too if they ignored the fact that they could save the people’s life or even the world by their power.

They went silent for a moment lost in their own thought.

The Elements? Just like mommy said. It’s real! Well, I shouldn’t question this. After all, I’ve seen such thing. The magic. The evil spirit. The dark force. Hellmouth? No wonder I’ve been so tired feeling all black magic and evil force. This is so bad. This town is going to be chaos. And what about the spell I did before with Willow. That’s just...amazing. Now I know it’s her that has been releasing such a strong magical force. Hmm, or not? Look like she doesn’t know how powerful she is. But she sure gave me dazzling head. A good one. Tara gave a half grin to Willow.

Willow gave back a tired grinned. She felt so much. Many feelings racing in her. The magic. I can do it. I can’t believe I can do it. And it’s working when do it with Tara. I did it so powerful. I know it’s because I combined the power with her and if I did it alone it would came weaker and later. Way much later. But still, WOW! What a power! And these elements things! It’s like we’re going to be superhero or something. Fight the dark power? Oh! it sounds cool actually. For years, I’ve been studying about the crime cases, the strange ones. All of it, I never thought I could really figure it out from inside circle now. The ridden have solved. It’s true. The demon was real. These things are real. Oh! I should have read much myth as Tara did. She’s so cool about all these. Like she knows everything...Of course she has been into this stuff since she was a kid. Willow felt proud for her friend.

Oh, man! I’m so outta here! This is 21st century and still these things are still exist? Alive and ready for chaos? And what’s with us can save the town or the world? Am I looking like a superman or wonder woman? Well, actually I gotta admit it was fun killing it. I should be scare but instead I was having a fucking blast there. So, does it mean it’s real? I have a potential to fight? Well, damn! This is fucking unbelievable! But if it’s true...Of course it’s like 99% true now. What confirmation I need more! It’s true! I’ve just kill one....Oh fuck! I’m so outta here. Faith snorted and drank her coffee slowly.

Buffy rubbed her temple in circle motion. Hellmouth? Wow, this is hard to understand. I don’t even know about the crime or people died. I should have watched more news. All I know is this town is not safe at night but I never know what actually happened. Think about it, Willow’d talked about these quite often but I never really listen. Oh boy, I’m so lack of knowledge. Wait? What this C+ teacher said about the dark force knows about our presence and will track us down until we die? Then I guess we have to fight? And what about that Hellmouth and this guy who woke up that dead demon are still on action in this town? Could they harm people? Of course they could. They already did. The world? Town? People? Family? Friends...?

“Um, you know, let me know tomorrow...I guess we’re all tired.” Giles said when he felt that everyone lost in their own thoughts and it would be best to get the answer tomorrow. As Giles was starting to stand up, Buffy reached his arm to protest his leaving.

My family?

My friends?

Buffy stood up, almost striking her coffee cup in front of her spilled. Everyone broke out from they own reverie. Buffy said with her firmly voice. “Tell me who I need to fight.”

“Aww! B! Are we going to do this!!!???” Faith shouted in disbelief. Almost choked on her coffee.

HERE’S CHAPTER TWO!

THE ELEMENTS >>>

Chapter 2_a : Learn it.

“Left, Right, Left, Right, and Kick!” The English accent echoed around the basement room. “Faith, concentrate! Keep your shoulder high! “

Faith dropped her hands that covered with awfully red boxing gloves, “Come on! We’ve been doing this for almost an hour now.” The strong brunette then lifted her hands up again as in guarding and mockingly showed her fast footwork “Left, right, left, right, swoosh, pow, wow.” She said as punching out the fits lightly to Buffy who was standing in front of her then dropped her hands to her side again. “It’s so damn boring! And plus with the lame gloves!”

“The First month practice,” Giles said with calm voice, “is about working your basic base. To fitting you up. It’s important. You’ll learn to keep in shape for...”

“Fighting and your stamina will be strong and gauges not go down easily. Blah blah blah.” Faith interrupted, “You said that a hundredth time now. Can’t we just go out there and KILL?” she asked and gave her high kick to the air.

“No. You need to pass the basic first.” Giles rejected, getting sterner. “If you remember, when you fight that demon you’re almost lose it because your stamina was weak and still is!”

Faith rolled her eyes and then shifted her gaze to Buffy as if to ask for help.

The blonde chuckled, “Don’t look at me. I’m a cheerleader. I’m so used to about practicing the same steps over hours and hours.” She then frowned, “With out the lame boxing gloves. Are you trying to train us for Olympic game?”

Giles didn’t answer that but mumbled almost to himself, “I picked the gloves.”

Faith couldn’t help but sighed. “Okay, fine.” She gave up trying, “I’ll let go...wasted all my energy here.” Then, she turned to Buffy as she lifting up her guard, getting ready. “Come on, girl, just you and me...and this grumpy old chum.”

Buffy laughed loudly. The expression on Giles’s face was priceless.

Then they started the same steps again.

According to what Giles said, the important thing for The Elements was to keep in shape and there were so much to learn about fighting in various style and technique. But somehow for the beginners like them, they must learn the basic first. And by the basic it meant they had to do this ‘left, right and kick’ for a month. This, in Faith’s opinion was ‘Damn boring’.

For Willow and Tara, they needed to dig the hundred books Giles owned and learned about basic stuff too, such as, ancient myths, magical rules, religions and all basic mystical stuff. It’s their ways to keep up in shape. This, in Faith’s opinion was ‘Fucking boring’. Well, as least the brunette thought that she got a chance to release some of those energies inside.

The routines were, when they finished school, they must come down to Giles house everyday. It sure was the big house, English castle style, only a little smaller. The girls thought that Giles must be very well paid but Giles explained the fact that almost of his money were inherited from his parents. The council paid him just about okay for paying the consumer goods and food. The girls agreed that he had lots of money anyway, from council and teaching at school.

Anyway, when they arrived there. The first thing to do was; for Buffy and Faith, it was practice fighting, for Willow and Tara, it was learning with books. Giles assured that it’s going to be boring for just a first month and then Buffy and Faith would get a chance to learning with books and Willow and Tara would get a chance to do some practice at fighting also.

…Which the girls rolled their eyes at this statement, felt even more tried by that.

And there were so many things to work with, which Giles asked Willow to make the schedule out of his listed paper. Willow gleefully took the listed and said things about different colored pens, which they didn’t really understand while Tara was giggling lightly.

While Buffy and Faith kept practicing, they heard the bell rang. Giles excused himself out. And for a little while the basement door swung open. Willow and Tara let themselves inside, followed by the watcher.

“Hi.” The newcomer girls said in unison. Buffy and Faith waved their hands in exhaust. Somehow this basic little training began to wearing them out.

“Wow, it’s hot in here.” Willow commented, waving a pile of papers in front of her to chase away the heat.

“And it’s lots of equipment in here.” Tara said, looking around.

The girls were stunning by the various types of weapons in the room. Some were new and some were old and some were even ancient. Tara even felt some of them had a strange energy locked up inside.

“Ooh! There’s a cage?” Willow noticed, “What for? Practicing escape from Alcatraz?”

“Oh that? Giles uses it for his personal pleasure.” Faith said, eyeing the watcher squirmed.

“It came with the house!” Giles said, as much as he wanted to, he couldn’t stop himself from blushing. It actually came with the house. First he felt a bit strange about it but then he realized that it did add a cool vibe for the place. Also, he couldn’t fully deny that he didn’t like it, or else he must do something to remove it long ago already.

“A-and I figured it might come in handy.” Giles added then pretended to look away when he saw that everyone tried to hide their obviously amused smiles.

“Willow...what you got there?” Buffy asked after the silent had been put for too long. The petite blonde curiously looked at the papers Willow’s holding.

“Oh? These? It’s our schedule.” Willow found a big wooden table that placed beside the big glass window and dropped the papers on the flat surface. The redhead brought out the large paper that neatly folded into A4 size and spread it out until it was covered nearly the half of the table.

“S-schedule?” Buffy was getting the feeling of some disaster or acapolypse coming her way.

“Here! I did it with different colored pens.” Willow said happily. Everyone but Tara had a strange expression on their faces.

“Gee, Red. You have to stop getting turn on by this stuff.” Faith teased.

“Well, I’m not!” Willow blushed. “It’s just fun doing this. Beside I took the lectures like this and it’s convenient to read but okay, it's been pointed out to me sometime that that's, you know, insane.“

“I said ‘quirky’.” Tara chuckled. Everyone rolled their eyes. These two were too cute too common.

“Well, I must say that it’s a best schedule I’ve ever seen. You also write down the important things like your official element names, the meaning and warning notes…a-and…” Giles watched the schedule closer and lurked his eyebrows. “My schedule too?”

“Oh! It’s for us to know where you’ll be during the days. Not deep stuff. Just basic timetable and contact number.” Willow smiled.

“That’s...neat. “ Not being so sure that he should be glad or sad, Giles coughed instead, using his hand to cover the emotion.

Buffy studied the paper, “Oh? The wind, did you know we have to wake up early in the morning to do 5km running everyday?” She said in terrified to Faith.

“What the fuck?!! I protest any early morning thing!” Faith watched the paper and snorted. “Lookie, lookie, here at The Fighters’ box, the wind and the earth have an extra hours practicing in weekend too.” The brunette didn’t mind doing stuff but she hated to be in discipline. She hated doing it this way. Faith tried to be positive; at least she got a change to burning out her energy. “This sucks.” The mission failed and now the brunette was glaring at Willow.

“Don’t shoot the messenger!” Willow made a smug face.

“Well, at The Sorcerer Box, the fire and the water have extra hours at weekend for studying too.” Tara quipped in, felt a little wore out by thinking about it. She’s willing to study the books but weekend extra hours could get her tired too. “We’re on the same boat.”

“Oh, that’s so...” As the redhead was about to say ‘great’, the girls turned their heads to her at the same time and glared. “So...extra.” She finished lamely.

“Well, At least you get a chance to do the magic thing here, here and here.” Buffy pointed to the blue letters said ‘magic’ on Wednesday and Friday and in extra hours at Sunday. The blonde pouted, "For you it must be like, super holiday with extra topping hot fudge fun."

“Oh, but you have the ancient fighting here too.” Tara pointed at Buffy and Faith’s routine in Sunday. “That’s interesting.”

“OH? Sure?” Faith said ironically. “Ancient fighting is like a sword dance in Japan, all about slowly stepping left and right then slowly punch out lightly...slowly.” She demonstrated the action. The girls giggled.

“It will steady your mind. Help you concentrate better!” Giles said rigidly then he sighed. “We’ll take it slow. Don’t worry. It could change to extra holiday two weekends and back to study one weekend if you learn quickly. Come on! It’ll be fun!” Giles tried to cheer them up.

The English guy knew that the schedule was not match with their likes whatsoever but it had to be done. He’s their watcher. He needed to keep it discipline. “And hey! There’s a switch duty later next month!” He added, pointing at the special red mark that explained when there would be changing between fighting to studying and likewise for the girls.

The girls just sighed out their weary. Of course, except for Willow. The redhead held the schedule up and brought it to the space at the wall. While she was sticking it up with glue patch she’d prepared, Buffy noticed another papers were still on the table.

“What’s that?” The blonde fighter asked Tara.

“Oh? It’s another copy of that.” Tara pointed to Willow’s way. “And the studies about us, The Elements.”

“Well…” Willow heard the conversation as she finished sticking the paper. The redhead walked toward the table. “It’s about us. What our specify qualities and how we can fight together in the best way…”

“Which, we’ll talk about it later. After you two finished training.” Giles to the fighters and then to the sorcerers. “And you two finished studying.”

“Okay, whatever.” Faith said, punching to Buffy’s arm once as to get her friend started. After all, she wanted to just keep in action. She knew Buffy felt the same way too. It’s like their fighting instincts alerted almost of the time after killing the demon that night. And the only way to clam it down was to get all of it out of the system.

Tara nodded to Willow as the sign to follow her out of the room. The fighters started their step again. This time it appeared to be a little harder after they had been paused and rest for a bit.

“See ya.” The redhead said to the girls, gathering up the rest of papers and followed the blonde out.

“The books are all set at the table.” Giles shouted to them by not looking. He tried to concentrate with the training in front of his eyes and he knows that those girls will be fine by themselves.

THE ELEMENTS >>>

Chapter 2_b : Learn it.

2 hours passed at sharp 6. Tara and Willow already finished a few books of ancient religions. At least they hoped it could call study because most of the time wasted by joking around with each other.

“Willow! That’s funny!” Tara laughed.

“Well, it didn’t mean to be funny!” Willow gave a mock serious face and burst into fits of laughter which Tara soon joined.

“So much with the study, eh?” Buffy’s loud voice interrupted their happy conversation. It appeared that Faith and Buffy had already done with their training. They walked to the big round oak table that the two best friends were sitting. The exhausted fighters found their own seats and slumped against the big comfy chair at the same time. Then, they sighed.

“What?! It couldn’t be that bad?” Willow said, thinking that the training must be so boring.

“Huh? No! Will, it’s wonderful. Just, you know, to get it out of the system, the energy, I mean.” Buffy said and smiled weakly.

“Yeah. It wore me out, which is good or I’ll explode from needing to kill.” Faith said and grinning in mischief when Buffy glared at her.

“You two are so...The Fighters.” Willow said according from her study about The Elements that said something about The Fighter’s unlimited energy. “Like petroleum, uh, atom bomb, um...energy burning?” She waved her hands around to make a picture and finished with grinned.

“And how well your study?” Giles came in the room, looking a little tired.

“It went well. We’ve just finished these.” Willow answered, prying her eyes at the books on the table. “I think that’s mean we’ll take a break then?” She finished with her hand closed the book in front of her and pushed it away lightly.

“Yes, a break then.” The English man said and found the chair at the table to sit down.

Faith looked around the table and found that there were too many boring books all around. “I don’t know how could you even read all these. They look....”

“Unreadable.” Buffy finished for her friend and make a wryly face.

“It’s in English, people!” Willow rolled her eyes.

“It’s easy actually. Kind of interesting in a way.” Tara stated.

“You two are so...alike and so study buddy.” Faith commented, “Before you came, Willow had no study buddy. She always alone, studying in that library.” Faith smiled at Willow, “No offend. I’m just sayin’ that it’s good that you two found each other because me and Buffy would never go in that torment room.“

“Except for...the guns at our heads? “ Buffy chuckled.

“Oh no, not even that.” Faith said and gave them more loath reasons about the library but Willow couldn’t hear them. The redhead was lost in her own thought.

We found each other....

It’s been two months now. Our friendship within two month with a little bit of indescribable feeling...It’s...

“It’s been two month now.” The word slipped out of Willow’s lips. Looked like she was thinking too loud.

“Huh?” Buffy asked.

“Ah...it’s...” Willow startled, then she coughed, buying sometime for the properly answer, “Um...it’s been two months now since Tara came to this town, right? Right, Tara?” Looking at Tara, the redhead smiled.

“Y-yes.” Tara blushed; she couldn’t help but thinking that maybe Willow’d been counting the days. Looked again, she found her friend was still smiling at her sweetly.

“Really? It seems longer. Like years.” Buffy said with a lazily smile. She leaned across the table with her arms spread on it and rested her head on her left arm. “So, what’s about it?”

“What about what?” The redhead blinked, turned to the petite blonde who now furrowed her eyebrows.

“What’s about it that Tara has been here for two months now?”

“What? Huh? Oh…nothing.” The redhead blushed. She was just thinking about the blonde so the words just slipped out. Her face got even more reddened when she realized that lately all she thought about was the certain blonde.

“Um, isn’t it a bit odd that you just stated that out of nothing more to say?”

“What? I was just saying, that’s all.” Willow acted all innocent, looking away with a smug on her face.

“To think about it, you’ve became close with us pretty quickly. By all mean, I don’t usually close to people cuz people sucks.” Faith commented, “And, Red is like love to be alone doing all her serious things, and B…well, B is just weird.”

“Excuse me?!” Buffy denied the comment, lifting her head up and sitting straight in the chair again.

Faith just shrugged and continued, “But anyway, it’s funny how we get together. I mean...ya know.” Faith said, propped her feet up on the table, “The different.”

“Can we go back to me weird part?” Buffy pointed her index finger, gesturing to go backward.

“Um,” Giles interrupted. He was having fun looking at the friends talking to each other. He found that they were different indeed but it’s just the way it is. “Don’t mean to breaking this ‘break time’ but I think you’re pretty good combination for The Elements. They need to be different. It’s like filling each other. Complete each other. Give each other what each lack.”

“How corny!” Faith said with big eyes. She found this humoring, actually.

“Oh, it’s true. Me and Tara studied about it.” Willow pushed the papers to the middle of the round table. “It’s all in there. How our combinations will work.”

“This is soooo serious.” Faith said, the sarcasm in her voice wasn’t lost to the English man.

“This is serious! Fighting evil source is serious.” Giles stated, rigidly.

“Okay, okay. I get it.” Faith rolled her eyes. “Don’t have to go all biggie, man.”

Buffy flipped through the papers. “Better explain it.” She decided when she saw hundred of letters wrote by the different colored of pens and it’s dizzying her eyes.

“Okay.” Willow began turning the pages, looking excited. “It’s easy because I separate the important note with orange and the details are in brown and the...”

“Red...” Faith interrupted with warning tone to stop the redhead obsession.

“Sorry.” The redhead stopped but didn’t actually felt sorry as the word. She turned to whisper with Tara. “See? How convenient the different colors can be?” Tara nodded agree with a lop-side grinned. The blonde seemed to completely agree with the thought of how interesting and clever her friend could be.

“Okay...to start with.” The redhead finally started the details, “The Elements are people who fighting evil force. It’s been happened for almost 3,000 years now. We’ve inherited the power from generation after generation. To be understanding it correctly about how we inherit the power, which Giles here avoiding to tell us straightly.” Willow glared at Giles and the man who now took of his glasses, avoiding the eye contact. The redhead continued, “It means that the previous elements will have to die and the next chosen will be born. This also means that if one of four elements dies, the other three will be automatically lost their strong power because The Elements power couldn’t work without each other to supporting.”

Tara continued from Willow “Say, you might wonder that if one elements died and the other lost their power then who will continued to fight the evil force between the gap of time while we waiting for new born elements to grow enough to fight.” The blonde smiled, “We found the book written about various empower mortals or immortals that fight the evil force. They’ve been in generation after generation like us. They are all over the world. You may think that it’s enough to fight the evil things but it’s never enough. Even these days, it’s not enough.”

Giles put his glasses back on and continued for them, “It’s true. Some kind of the fighters in the myth still remains undiscovered. They might be fighting now or sleeping not knowing anything yet. I might say the evil fighters are spread all over the world and belong to different kind of authorities. Some belong to just one person, some belong to the group, some belong to the gods and some are on their own. You...you’re up to the council.” He explained.

“Don’t be so sure ‘bout that.” Faith eyed the watcher, almost calmly yet her eyes shown warning.

“But you are...I don’t know what you expect it to be. You just up to the council.” Giles replied, shaking his head.

“Not so much choices are we? “ Faith muttered. She hated the idea of it. Did it mean that she had to do what they told?

“Looks like it’s just the way it is. It’s been like this for a long time.” Willow added.

Buffy bit her lower lips; she knew Faith hated being chained to something. She would felt like she’s in cage.

“So like, we are all working together? All kind of evil fighter?” Buffy asked.

“Not really, we’re kind of working separate. We have this well known territory that can not be cross. And we don’t really know the details of their work and life. It’s a golden rule, as long as you don’t mess with ones’ job, you’re okay.” Giles replied, thinking about what he’s been learning about the fighters all around the world and the council had only a few kinds of fighters up to their responsibility. “I-It sort of complicate, you will learn about those later, within years.” He cut it out.

“If we survive that long anyway.” Faith quipped, eyeing everyone pathetically.

“Okay, okay.” Willow cut in. If Giles said they’ll learn then that’s it. She understood. “Back on track. As we already knew, Faith is The Wind. Buffy, The Earth. Tara, The Water and me...The Fire. That’s The Elements and it’s just the basic stuff about the qualities of each so I’ll just skip it.” The redhead turned the paper to next page. When she looked up she saw blank faces of Faith and Buffy, she rolled her eyes “Alright, I’ll explain...in your sense.”

“Faith, you’re the wind element. Compare to Buffy that is the earth element, your power is fiercer but not stable. Your stamina gauge will dropped a little easier than Buffy. You’re quicker but lack of accuracy. You’re compatible with long weapon like javelin or long sword....and...”

“Hey! I know this! It’s like those RPG games. Ya know, with compatible weapons and all.” Buffy realized. Faith lurked her eyebrows at just when did Buffy interested in the stuff, so Buffy continued, “My sis has them.”

“Yes! Like that.” Willow felt happy to have good response from her friend. At least someone knew a little. “So, like...it will lift up your power a little and it fit to your kind of fighting too.”

“My kind of fighting?” Faith cringed her brows. She was a bit slow for this.

“Oh, you can fight really well with beast demonic animal creature type like werewolf or the demon we killed last night. On the other hand, Buffy can fight well with evil immortal type like vampire or zombie.” Tara said.

“Oh my god...this is bad. “ Buffy almost fainted when she heard about killing zombie. The image of couldn’t-be-killed-zombie-broke-into-the-house of ‘Night Of Living Dead’ appeared in her head and it frightening her. “I can’t fight...zombie.” She shook her head, frowning.

“Um...scary I know. But according to the books...” Tara trailed off. Zombie wasn’t her favorite thing either.

Before they got lost in scary thought Willow brought them back. “ANYWAY! You can fight both side of evil force type. Sure you have different kind of fighting that can affect the most but you need to fight together anyway for the best result. That’s why you need to practicing training together cuz you’ll know each other pace, movement, soft point, hard point and move with each other. Use what’s lack and what does have to combine together as a perfect death blow!”

“That’s sound like a porn.” Faith snickered and received glaring from Buffy so the brunette pretended to continue with seriousness, “Then what is B’s compatible weapon? “

“The stake. To stake the vampire or the cross bow because she’s good with accuracy.” Tara answered.

“B, these all remind me of your dream. You got the vampire in your dream, maybe it was trying to tell you something.” Faith pointed out.

“Well, it could be just coincidence because...it’s only me who had it.” Buffy disagreed.

“About that…” Faith paused a bit and decided to let it out, “Well, not really...I had it too...but mine was this big demon creature running after me. So, I think it’s not coincidence.” Faith smiled. She knew she’d been hiding this from everyone and Buffy wasn’t going to like it.

“What? Why didn’t you tell me before?!” Buffy yelled out in surprise.

“Because?” Faith rolled her eyes in annoyance. “I thought it was just craps. You know, it’s felt like a nightmare and anyone could have a nightmare and I’d feel just like a wuss from whining about it.”

“Oh? So I’m a wuss?” The blonde questioned, her eyes widen, crossing her arms.

“No, well, all I know is that you were so into it. And you know, all couldn’t wake up and confused the dream with reality. Also, your mouth was still drooling from sleep.”

“OH! That’s so not true!” Buffy lurked her eyebrows, looking around the table for support.

“Then looking all pale when got C+ report.” Faith grinned, enjoying the banter between her and the blonde. Everybody laughed, including Giles. Buffy huffed and decided to shut her mouth. Faith could be really ‘Arghhhh!’ for her sometime.

“It’s normal.” Giles was trying to hold his laughing. “You might get these visions because of your new growing power. It’s complicated again but you’ll learn. Now go on, Willow. I’d like to hear more.” Giles urged on. Some of Willow and Tara’s research reminded lots of thing he had already forgot.

Willow nodded, “For Tara, she’s The Water. So her power goes in the way sorta submissive. Both her and me can use magic but the power will be weak on each own. We need to do it together. I don’t really understand this but Tara did bring my power out and on the other hand I bring her power out too.” Willow grinned at the idea, “Anyway, as for the books said, The Water’s force is on the healing side. Like white magic, healing magic, barrier and all. Did you get the idea?”

Everyone nodded.

“So in contrast.” Tara said, “Willow’s power will be on more dark side like creating an energy ball, explosion, floating things and you know, sort of burning power and more, which is The Fire’s character anyway. But for now we’re just the beginners. Magic power needs sometime to grow and if we practice it more often, then we could go like creating big ball energy.” When the blonde finished explaining, she received surprise expression from Willow and she looked down shyly, her hands came together and twisting nervously at her laps.

“Tara? I know you’re into these stuff. But really, you seem to know it more than you’ve shown.” Willow observed, “Say? How long did you studying about this? I mean, I could say that it’s studying, could I? Cuz you’re all seeking for the information about these things and the books you read...sometime it looks so difficult. Was it in Latin sometime? And ook-ay...too many questions!” The redhead smiled sheepishly; she hoped she didn’t invade Tara’s personal life or anything. She was just curious.

The blonde looked up from her twisting hands and met with Giles’s gaze that somehow assuring her to tell the truth. She looked at Faith and Buffy who seems to don’t really understand about these all but at least their curiosity was showing. Then she shifted her gaze slowly at Willow. Who was now got all eager green eyes shining.

Tara sighed...the time came sooner than she had expected.

“I’m s-sorry...I didn’t tell you guys this before. I’m a w-witch.”

The girls jaw dropped.

THE ELEMENTS >>>

Chapter2_c : Learn it.

“What?! As in The Blair Witch Project?” Faith eyes went wide. Tara cringed her eyebrows.

“As in Sabrina the teenage witch?” Buffy whispered in shock.

“Well, not really...” Tara wasn’t sure of it, “Um...people...now, y-you s-shouldn’t be surprise by this at all” She said with shyness.

The blonde giggled internally at the expressions of her friends. More over, they were the surprise expressions even though they’d passed through the weirdest thing yesterday at The Bronze.

“I know I shouldn’t be surprise anymore after what happened yesterday.” Willow said with widen eyes, her lips parted slightly, her green gaze sparkling, “BUT, I mean, look at you! All witchy and knowledge and all. I mean...oh god! Even before this bizarre element things happened? Tara, since when?”

“A-Almost sixteen years now...since I was a k-kid.” Tara stuttered, she felt everyone eyes were fixing on her.

Willow eyes grew even wider, “How? Is there the subscription somewhere?”

“Um...m-my-m-mom...” Tara took a deep breath, “She’s the witch too...it runs in the family.” She grinned shyly.

“Oh god! This is...wonderful. You must be like...top level or something. Is that why you could bring out my power? Is that why you understand all this so perfectly? Tara! This is so cool.” The redhead got really excited for this new truth.

“Blondie! You can do magic? I mean serious magic?” Faith eagerly asked with Buffy nodded agree to the question.

“Oh, I’m nothing powerful. I can do only a little tinker bell light and such.” Tara humbly replied.

“Wait? Was that your power last night to frozen that beast? Was it only you who did that after all?” Willow furrowed her eyebrows, feeling embarrassed by her excitement earlier about her power awakening. The unsure feeling grew fast. She didn’t really believe that Tara’s power could be that weak due to her ‘sixteen years witching’.

Tara was about to opened her mouth to reject this but she was being interrupted by Giles,

“Can’t be. Each of you has the power and really individual and strong but your power couldn’t work that strongly without each other. You waken each of you.” Giles pointed out.

“It’s true. Willow. Big purple frozen blast power like that? I couldn’t do that before. I just felt it. It’s...when I touched your hands. The moment our hands clasped together the power just awoke out. Blast. D-don’t you f-f-feel it?” The blonde felt a disappointment. She thought it was something special but if Willow didn’t feel it then maybe it was her mistake to taken it too grand than it should be.

“No! I-I feel it too! But...” The redhead stopped. Somehow she began to believe that it’s not her power after all.

Tara knew it so she started to explain. She felt relieve that Willow felt the same; at least she said she felt it too, “Look, Will, it’s your power. I anchored your power and it emerged. Whatever that burst out to freeze that demon was your power more than a half.” Tara gave an ensure smiled, “Don’t tell me you didn’t feel your power before. It must revealed to you in some form. Maybe floating pencil?”

Willow looked up. It’s true. The magic revealed to her a few times before. “No pencil, just a false burning stake, a room surprisingly tidied up at night and your shirt’s button gone.” She said, able to smile again.

Tara giggled. Willow’s describe was hard to understand but she got it, easily. The rest of the table cringed their faces in puzzle.

“Okay, why did you make my button gone?” Tara beamed, still remembering that her favorite shirt’s button was gone to nowhere that day. So, it’s was this certain redhead who did that after all. The thought amused her.

Willow blushed. How could she answer that anyway? “Um...gee...well...” She stammered.

“What in the hell are you two talking about?” The brunette fighter was being too impatience about it.

“OH, Faith!” Tara giggled. She decided that if she went this far then she should reveal it all, “See, my mom, she taught me a lot about wicca. And since I was kid I acknowledge that I can sense another magic user’s power. Then year after year my power grew stronger. I can sense everybody aura. Like, you know, you have green aura and Buffy has brown. In short, I can sense every kind of energies and forces.”

Faith cringed her nose in response, “I have green aura? It’s my hate color.”

Buffy couldn’t help but giggled at Faith who now was looking down at her body as if she was going to see green light as Tara said.

“And I was just know that another talented hidden in me is to bring out another one’s power and anchor that power while it’s emerging...like I did with Willow last night.” Tara smiled at Willow who was secretly relieved that the blonde’s question was being distracted by Faith.

Tara was thinking again about the dazzling head she got at the cafeteria the other day. She was almost sure that it’s Willow power that made it because it seemed familiar when she sensed it again at The Bronze while they’re doing magic together. But the blonde wasn’t sure to actually point that out because maybe it’s just another people’s power, well, because lately she was sort of feeling everybody’s forces all around.

“So...it’s real, Tara? I mean, my magical experience before this? I thought it was coincidence before but then at the cafeteria that day I somehow managed to burn up my stake although it’s 20 minutes late from my wished.” Willow asked eagerly.

Tara clasped her hands in glee. “Yes! It’s was really you! I sensed this pure energy and my head dazzling. I have dazzling head every time I feel magical thingy.” Tara explained happily, “I didn’t know it was you then but I remembered the feeling of that energy and then at The Bronze it felt the same with your power so I assumed it was all you that dazzling me! And it’s true. Wow...” She said in awe.

“I gave you a dazzling head? Oh...Was that why you looked so pale? I’m sorry.” Willow apologized.

“N-no! Don’t be! It’s must be the reason you give me a good dazzling anytime we are together.” Tara blushes when realize how suggestive that could sound, “Um...I mean...do you know how powerful you are?” She asked timidly.

“N-no...” Willow replied and looked down at the table, grinning shyly.

“You have a very powerful magical inside of you. But it’s uncontrolling because it’s still new to you.” Tara grinned at Willow. And as the green eyes looked up again, they locked with the pool of blue.

“If you let me, I’ll anchor the power inside you until it constant.” Tara softly said.

Willow nodded, her eyes still fix with Tara’s. The redhead replied as soft as Tara, “I’ll let you...”

Faith was sitting there, watching the reaction from the beginning and now she got it and she was going to end it over.

“What’s this?!” Faith threw her hands in the air. “You two are like...damn, what we call? So subtext!” Faith stood up then continued, “I’ll go home now. It’s so boring staying here. Talking about mystic craps with message hidden! And I’m no Nancy Drew, girls!” The brunette walked out of the room. Her voice still can be heard. “Get a room!”

Both witch blushed furiously. Buffy stood up too. She heard Faith but not really thought about what Faith said. After all, everything was about sex to Faith.

“Look, it’s dark now and I’m tired so we don’t want any vampires run into me tonight right? I’m going home too.” Buffy said and saw the two of her friends still sat there, looking away from each other with cheeks blushed red.

“Oh! Don’t mind her, would you? Everything is about sex to her.” Buffy shook her head as she walked out of the room. The, realized something, the petite blonde turned back and said, “Hey? We should go together. Better do. It’s not safe out there.” Buffy said with serious tone. Since she knew about the Hellmouth, her protective instinct was there for almost everyone. Smiling, she turned to the English man. “See ya, Giles!” Seemed like she finally remembered his name.

Tara and Willow finally composed themselves from Faith blunted words. They stood up and said goodbye to Giles who had this strange smug look on his face.

When everyone left Giles closed his front door and sighed, “Looks like sexual preferences have been inherited too.”

The Elements>>>

Chapter 3_a : She’s coming to town.

<3 weeks later>

It’s sure a hottest day in a year...and it should be because it’s near summer time.

The students sit in the math classroom, trying to swim through such a boring lesson. Added with the unbelievably hot temperature, they felt like melting away with the words on the blackboard.

Despite the fact that she’d always been a good function student, Willow was boring as hell. The scratching sounds of chalk’s writing on the blackboard made by the teacher were only managed to get her head crazier. The fainted sprays of white chalked that painted the teacher’s fingers was making she felt dried and deserted. The numbers on the board were making her head spinning. The temperature consumed her in the terrible damp skins. She was trying to lecture the lesson but she ended up tapping the edge of pencil to the book for all hour.

The redhead glanced at the clock on the wall, praying the class to end very soon. It was just second class of the day but she felt like going home already. Glancing around once more, she found everyone was pretty much the same.

Faith with her arms across on her chest, leaned herself back on seat. Almost looked comfortable but rather zoning off. Her eyes stared blankly at the blackboard. Her expression unreadable, like always. Without anything on her desk, Faith seemed like didn’t be here for studying.

Buffy rested her chin on her palm, looking outside the window. The clear blue sky seemed to distract her completely from the lesson. Her textbook opened on the desk but nothing ever wrote in there. Her other hand played with the pencil, flipping it up and down.

Tara’s hair pulled back in ponytail, exposing her creamy white neck. Willow found herself lost into that little place of Tara’s neck for a few seconds. Darting her eyes up she found Tara was looking back at her, half smiling. The blonde understood perfectly how Willow felt about this boring class. She too was the one who had been happy with learning thing but not today.

Afraid that it might ended up for too long staring like it often did, Willow turned back to concentrate at the lesson. But it’s too late, again her mind already preoccupied by Tara. Willow sighed softly, it was just a few first hours of the school but everything already messed with her. First, terribly hot sun lead to boring lesson and now her mind filled with Taraness thought, she wouldn’t be able to concentrate on anything anymore for day.

The redhead decided to drop trying to concentrate at the class. Opened her notebook, she wrote the words on the paper and tear it off the book and folded it close. When the teacher turned back to write more numbers on the board, Willow took the easy risk and threw it at Tara.

The blonde’s eyes widen as she felt something dropped in front of her on the desk. She picked up the paper and read it. Knowing immediately that it’s Willow’s hand writing that wrote ‘What makes the hot day better?’ Then her eyes trailed below to meet the answer at the edge wrote upside down, ‘A whole lotta milkshake!’ with the little drawing of big glass of milkshake with the little cartoonish person that appeared to be Willow standing happily near the big glass. Tara giggled, grabbing her pencil, she wrote something back.

For a minute later, Willow found that the same piece of paper dropped in front of her. She quickly opened it and found that Tara wrote, ‘I’m sure we can work that out later but I rather have some snow now.’ The redhead giggled then turned to Tara and lifted up her index finger as if to display doing magic. She turned her finger around in circle and mouthed, “Snowy”. As the redhead shook her finger once more to finish her fake magic, Tara giggled.

“What’s so interesting? Miss Rosenberg? Miss Maclay?” The teacher interrupted their little happy moment. The girls startled and lower their heads in apologize. Faith turned her attention to her friends and lurked the eyebrows amusingly.

“If you don’t want to learn then you would rather don’t disrupt...” The teacher meant to continue but then got disrupted by the gleeful voice of Buffy. Everyone turned the attentions to the cheerleader queen.

“Look! It’s snowing! Let’s go out and play!” Buffy pointed out of the window and exclaimed in happiness. On the hot day like this seemed to make people go crazier and Buffy might not be an exception. But it’s true. Everybody followed their gazes to the way the petite blonde was pointing. With the eyes widen, they hardly believed what they were seeing. The snow, white snowflakes were falling slowly to the ground and it was all white all over in sky. In short, well, it’s snowing.

“It’s snowing in summer! ARE YOU NUTS, B? No play!” Faith exclaimed in horror.

“What! We should be happy that god gives us the snow! It was too hot!” Buffy pouted, innocently.

Faith shook her head. After she knew about Hellmouth and the evil things, this was considered as being too weird and Buffy was too innocent.

The students seemed to be excited about it too. The fainted sounds of excitement got louder and louder in the room. And the teacher was all too stunned to calm them down.

Willow turned slowly to Tara’s way, shaking her head. Tara looked at her with bewilderment, her jaw dropped.

“What! I didn’t do that!” Willow mouthed, silently.

**********************************

Although they knew in their hearts that it was very weird that there’d be any snowing now in near summer and more over...it’d never been snowing in Sunnydale, they just couldn’t resist the fact that it was the snow and it was incredibly beautiful. The school ended early due to the coldness and no one was wearing enough warm cloth so the principle decided to send them home.

After Willow’s strongly denying of her responsibility for the snowing and Buffy managed to cancel the squad’s cheerleading practice, the girls too were going to go home. As they were walking out of the building, Giles found them in panic speech with extremely worry face.

“This is unbelievable,” Giles commented. “It’s never snowing in Sunnydale! Leave alone snowing in summer.”

“Duh. Tell us something we don’t know.” Faith said.

“We need to do research. NOW.” He was more commanded than suggested, ignoring Faith’s comment.

“Okay, we’ll do that. But first I need to go home and chance. Ya don’t want us freezing do ya? We’d be really bad ice cream with no cone.” Willow chuckled as Tara lurked her brows.

Giles narrowed his eyes, “Sure. Just be at my place in an hour! No late! We need to do it fast.” With that he quickly walked away.

“Geez, this guy need to relax more. It’s just snowing and he acted like the world exploded already,” Faith muttered as she walked away from them. “See ya...in an hour.”

“Is that the same girl who was yelling at me not to ‘PLAY’?” Buffy wondered, narrowing her eyes. Willow smile and shook her head, not understanding either.

“M-maybe Giles’s right.” Tara turned to Willow and Buffy after watching Faith left. “W-we need to research...I’m feeling that something bad is going to happen too.”

*******************************

Later in afternoon, at Giles’s house. Everyone sat around at the round table. Giles walked out from the kitchen and offer them cups of tea.

“It’s good for afternoon and...cold winter.” Giles said, setting the tray down. The girls murmured thanks for him, thinking about bitter taste of tea, never understanding why Rupert Giles would ever drink that stuff everyday.

“So, what’s the deal?” Buffy asked after sipping a bit of the liquid and quickly put her cup down. She coughed lightly, trying to clear her throat from the bitter taste.

“Ah, yes, the snow. I found that this is unnatural phenomenon.” Giles said, sitting down. “Actually I probably know what causes it.”

Faith stared at her cup of tea, decided not to drink it since Buffy’s reaction to it. On the other side of the table, Tara was sipping it slowly with grace. Faith and Willow stared at the blonde witch with the different expressions. Faith’s was ‘Okay, how the hell you drink that?’ and Willow’s was ‘Okay, how incredibly sexy English like was that?’ Meanwhile, Buffy was busying her tea by stirring it like she was trying some science experiments.

Giles saw that they weren’t even paying attention at all. “LEAVE the tea alone.” He said with annoy tone. They all turned to him with apologist faces, so he was able to continue finally, “I believe that I know who causes this.”

“Who? ‘The person’ can do the snow?” Willow said in awe then frowned. Maybe it’s her that did it? She had a reputation on spell going eerie after all, she secretly worries.

“Well, that’s likely the main point of why we’re here to research. Exactly not the normal nature cause here,” Giles said. He stood up and walked toward the big book shelf. “I couldn’t recall the name yet, the ones who might did this. But I used to saw the name in some books at council.”

“I don’t know why we should research about it. I mean, what’s wrong with snowing anyway? It’s like this in Alaska all the time.” Faith said, smiling her trademark sly smile.

“Alaska is lots colder than here and here’s not Alaska,” Giles walked back with several large books in his arms. “Beside, this is a sign that something or someone more complicate is coming here. Willow, Tara, search for something familiar to what happening here.”

“Uh, this gotta take sometime.” Willow received the books from Giles. Tara spared some of them and flipped through the pages.

“Better before the day ends. We can’t risk the chance of more chaos.” The English man sat down again.

“And...What do we do?” Buffy asked, she couldn’t see a point of her and Faith sitting here with no ability to researching. Well, not much anyway.

“Well, the reason why you’re here is that...” He paused, smiling lightly. Everyone watched him with interest, “I decided! This is your first day of officially patrolling, uh, if you’re ready?”

“REALLY?” Faith’s eyes widen, “I’m more than ready!”

Buffy frowned, “God, I already forgot about it.”

“Yeah, especially after 3 weeks of boring training session,” Faith grinned slyly, “Hey, don’t we have more training to do, like more basic stuff?” Her brows cringed together. The brunette remembered how Giles wanted them to do basic training a little longer.

“Not anymore, if you remember, I used to promise that if you learn quickly, we’ll skip to something more...in action.” Giles said, “Beside, it’s better to learn from real thing.”

“Real thing? What about us?” Willow asked, a little panic, “Do we ready for patrolling too? I mean...um...magic on no-level here.” Willow said, lifted her right hand up, palm facing out. Her face showed worrying. All last 3 weeks, she and Tara studied about ancient myths and studying magic things like rules and how to create different kinds of spell. They never got a chance to do any real spell yet. Beside, last week, all they did is meditation, which Giles pointed out that it’d help them concentrate better at performing spell.

“Well, I’m not worrying. You two have passed the basic rules and controlling mind part. Beside, four heads are always better than two head.” Smiling, he added, “Actually. It’s have to. Fight together!” With that he picked the girls’ cups of tea (except from Tara’s) back on the tray and brought it to the kitchen.

“Yeah. No worry, Red. We got supa Wicca here after all.” Faith quipped, eyeing Tara.

The blonde looked down shyly, “I-I...I’m nothing at all. I’m no special.”

“You are! Tara, you know everything about these things we do!” Willow smiled broadly, “You are.” Her voice softened. Tara lifted her face up. Blue eyes brighten. Smiling back to the redhead, she saw reflection of her in Willow’s green eyes that brighten up too somehow.

Faith watched them and it was clearly that there’s something between them. She snickered loudly, “I swear, if I...” She stopped midway when she saw that Buffy’s face was peering into the picture. The petite blonde had puzzle in her eyes, wondering where was Faith going with this.

Faith lurked her right brow slightly. Changing her mind, the brunette gave Buffy a shrug. She decided that she’s gonna let thing floated for a while until it hit Buffy herself. It could be much more fun if they’re like making out and then I LET B find out. Faith smiled wryly while she leaned back to the chair. “Nothing.” She said.

“What?” Buffy lurked her brows, “Why stop suddenly?”

“Nothing,” Faith grinned.

Buffy peering closer, “Hey, there’s something on your weird mind, I know that”

“Huh?” Faith felt the blonde leaned closer to her. It’s a lot closer than it meant to be. She flinched away her upper body until it sank firmly to the chair, “Hey? Hey! I told you it’s nothing.”

Buffy narrowed her eyes and Faith had to lurked her eyebrows high and bit her lower lips, damn, she’s so close...

Meanwhile, Willow was trying hard to break their gaze but she just couldn’t. She felt herself stuck with the blue gaze that now turned to deeper shade of blue like she’d never seen before. Suddenly she felt like they were really close to each other. The redhead wondered if they ever were this close. At least as close as she could really see the pool of blue twirling like this.

Tara was as lost as the person before her eyes. Willow’s face was near her. Not that near but she still could see the Willow’s big eyes that turn into clearer shade of green. Tara blinked a few times but still couldn’t break away the gaze. It’s not more than seven seconds but she felt the time stopping. She swore that she could hear her heart beats and Willow’s breathe into one rhythm. The blonde’s smile slowly faded and her face soften. Parting her lips slightly as if she meant to say something...

“ANYA CLAUS!” Exclaimed from the kitchen and Giles hurried out of the room. His hands were holding the tray filled with glasses of water for the girl. He walked toward the table. “IT’S HER!”

The girls broke out of their reveries. Trying to look casual, they straighten themselves back to their own chairs. Giles put the tray down, looking excited.

“A-anya...Claus?” Tara was the first who responded to his eager act.

“YES! She’s the one who cause this! Oh, she’s so famous among us! She’s gorgeous and very powerful. I remember studying it at council, back when I was young.” He said and if they weren’t mistaking it, the dreamy looked was there too.

“Seem like REALLLYYY long ago.” Faith whispered, more than to herself than anyone. Buffy, by sitting beside her, heard it. The blonde giggled lightly.

“What’s so funny? They even sell cards with her picture in it.” Giles said, unheard Faith. He sat down, “Your water.” He drew his hand to the tray.

“A CARD?” Buffy was getting a bit of impression, “Harry Potter or Pokemon kind?”

“A-PO-KE-MON?” Faith eyed Buffy in bewildered. Tara giggled.

“Um, my sister has them.” Buffy said, looking down at her laps, “Don’t ask.” She mumbled.

“Not gonna!” The brunette made big eyes, said with higher pitch than she usually made. Willow narrowed her eyes, suspected that maybe it was Buffy who actually crazy about those RPG things after all. Giles blushed, taking off his glasses to clean them, trying to ignore Buffy’s question about the cards while Buffy was looking at him expectantly.

“Anya Claus! We’re forgetting about Anya Claus!” Tara brought everyone back. Giles put his glasses back. Willow shook her head off of the strange scene that had been playing.

“Uh...so, this Anya Claus, as in Santa Claus?” The redhead looked confuses but secretly smiling at relief that it wasn’t her responsibility to it for sure now, “There is Santa Claus out there? For real?”

“Quite. But, Santa Claus? Santa is a child comparing to her.” Giles shook his head, too excite for paying attention to Willow’s question.

“Okay...she’s…Santa’s…mom…then?” Willow asked, more confusing.

“Far, far away from that! She’s Santa’s affair.” The man answered. The girls jaw-dropped as Giles continued in excite, “I’ll tell you a story...”

*********************

In the street, the snow was still falling. The girls decided to go out of Giles’s house for some fresh air and since Giles said that the girls could used sometime to prepare for the patrol tonight at their homes instead, according to him, ‘sitting with boring foreign man like me’.

“So much for the ‘Bloody hell! We need to research NOW!’ huh?” Faith mocked Giles’s expression from an hour ago.

“Yeah, and so much for saving a world too! I have no idea it could be this boring. We’re practically having absolutely nothing to do here.” Buffy grumbled.

“So...what do we do now?” Faith asked, looking around her.

“I don’t know. Seem like there’s nothing to do...I mean we do nothing...” Willow replied then paused as her feature seemed to grow more upset, “Can you believe Santa’s having an affair? And over and over again...and like has been doing that since forever! I mean that’s Santa! Our Santa!”

Faith snorted, “Can you blame a fat man who hot for ladies?”

“Yeah...ladies in north pole...” Buffy said, then crinkled her nose for the thought, “With teeth and beard.”

“A beard?” Faith said, “B, the guy said this girl is kinda cute. Gorgeous.”

“Oh, that’s because Giles might not having his glasses yet then. He was just a kid and didn’t know that he had bad eyes for years.”

“What? You’re just making this up!”

“Really! It took me all kindergarten years to know that my pig tails wasn’t match my face.”

“Huh?”

“What?”

Then there was strange silent between them until Willow spoke,

“Well, at least it’s a good thing we know that it used to happen a few times in this thousand years and it’s gone by itself. We’ll have to wait a few days for that right?” The redhead nodded as in supporting her own words.

“If Giles is right,” Buffy shrugged, “Which I think he is. I can’t believe they recorded this in the council too. And they, the watchers I mean...they learn about it!”

“It’s all in textbook.” Willow quipped.

“Textbook? I bet he won’t be very happy about that definition.” Faith chuckled.

“It’s a textbook!” Willow insisted, “He learned it when he was a kid. It’s a textbook. Watcher’s Textbook.”

“You think they have big publishing industry and all?” Faith curiously said.

“What kind of people learns these things anyway!” Buffy blurted out after imagined that it might go all large industry like Faith said.

“Mr. Giles’s kind, apparently.” Tara said, “Think about it, how many people are the watchers in this world anyway?” The blonde wondered.

All girls shrugged at the thought of thousand Giles out there in the world. Faith laughed uncomfortably, “Oh, I wouldn’t dare to think about it! And we need to stop wondering these weird things about that man too! We’re getting more strange everyday now, I swear!”

The girls walked pass the street block by block in silent until Willow who seemed to have something stuck in her mind blurted out,

“If I were Anya Claus, I would never forgive the man who having an affair with another women. Even if he’s this famous and rich, um, he’s rich right?” She questioned, lurking her brows.

“Uh-huh, I guess. With all the presents he can get for the kids.” Buffy smiled.

“Would you forgive him if he has an affair with a man?” Faith asked directly to Willow who then opened her mouth as if to reject what the brunette had just said, but seeing sly gleam in Faith’s brown eyes, Willow decided to better shut up in frustration.

The brunette continued in disregard, “And to think that having to live forever like him and be with the same woman for thousand years must be damn boring. Though, in his case it’s same few women.”

“I know that, but still he’s fooling around. And I mean he’s not that worthy, right? The man who is cheating and obsessing with the reindeers. Beside, he has a very high chance of heart disease...that Santa is not healthy at all,” Willow shook her head in upset.

Tara giggled as she imagined a beer belly of Santa, “I guess she loves him. That’s why she keeps coming back to him. Even though when she felt she had enough, she’s kinda leave him and take it out on us for a while. The snow, I mean. But still, she keeps coming back to him.” She smiled. Willow bit her lower lips, glancing at the blonde, pondering at her friend’s words.

“It’s weird that she walks around and the snow is following her too. I mean, it’s gonna follow her everywhere she goes?” Buffy curiously asked. In her head, she pictured Anya Claus (Of course, with beard.) walking around with a circle of snow falling above her head. The petite blonde kicked the snow in front of her step, murmured out, “Mm, weird.”

“It’s a benefit of north pole-Santa-girlfriend, B. They’re like the people of snow and winter and Christmas and all,” Faith said, grinning.

********************************

The girls kept walking down the street until they reach the plain area of the town. The snow was falling slightly, cool breeze hitting their faces gently. The plain that used to cover with green grasses now turned white all over the surface.

“Do you think she’s really in love with him?” Willow asked Tara, walking beside her.

Tara smiles tenderly, “If within a few days the snow is gone, then it’s mean that she’s forgive him, and come back to him at the North Pole...then you know...I guess she’s in love with him.” She replied.

“Then I guess, love comes with forgiving, huh?”

“Yeah...I believe that.”

“But he’s having an affair.”

“Yeah, he’s making mistake...big mistake for that. If Anya Claus could gives a thousand years love only to him why he couldn’t pick out one and do the same.”

“YES!”

“But still, it’s thousand years love from her that count.”

“You think someone can love a thousand years?”

“Yeah. And giving too. I mean, I believe that you can give love endlessly to someone.”

“Really?”

“Uh-huh. Sorta faithful, ain’t I?”

“Hmm...I don’t know...maybe you can. You used to?” Willow shook her head, she asked again, “I mean, you are?”

“I...” Tara began, she hadn’t really given that kind of love to someone. But she’s always believed in it. Endless kind of love. Deep down she’s waiting for her chance to have it, to be able in giving it. She wasn’t even sure about used to have love. She wasn’t even sure about if she was having it right now.

Looking into Willow’s eyes, Tara found that it was hard to answer without being nervous. The feature of Buffy and Faith that walked beside the redhead seemed to slowly fade from the view. At the moment Tara thought her eyes could see only Willow in the white snow as the background. The blonde grinned nervously, broking the gaze and tried again, “I...”

THUD!

Tara’s answer was being interrupted friecefully by a big snowball smacked into her upper back! She looked back and found Faith mischively smiled far behind. In the other hand of the brunette fighter there’s another big snowball. In one quick move, she threw that ball to Buffy and it hit right at the blonde fighter’s head.

Buffy startled and then laughed happily as she turned around and found that it was Faith who attacked her. She ran to the attacker with a wicked smiled on her face. “WAR!!!!” Buffy screamed gleefully.

Faith quickly swooped up another handful of snowball. With a little time left to shape it into the ball, she threw it toward Buffy. The snow flew and sprayed out to hit the two sorceresses behind Buffy. Willow laughed brightly as the white flakes of snow painted all over her face and winter coat, “OH NO! YOU DIDN’T!”

Grabbing Tara’s wrist, Willow dragged the blonde forward to the snow battle.
