Part 2:
Tara spent the next few weeks hanging out with Buffy and her friends. She surprisingly got along great with the blonde. However her attention was always occupied when a certain redhead was around. They had gotten to know each other pretty well. Of course what she wanted was to get to know Willow when others weren't around but that never happened because she was mostly friends with Buffy. She had to be very careful when around the green eyed goddess, she was scared everyone would see right through her and know she was starting to have feelings for her.
Dispite his worries Donnie was also making friends and doing well. He'd already made a handful of them and was becoming the popular guy he was at his old school.
It was a rainy day. The cafeteria was extra crowded and smelled of the special for the day..pea soup. This was a day Tara was glad she brought her lunch. Buffy, Xander, Willow and Tara were eating their lunch trying to ignore the odor and the sounds of all the students.
"Ugh..why does it have to rain on a day when they're serving pea soup?" A certain redhead asked.
"Isn't it obvious Will? They do it to torture us. Some evil scheme, but I'm on to them." Xander nodded while staring at his spoon trying to see his reflection. "No more eating school lunches for me." He said as he pushed his tray away.
"Aww..come on Xander, it can't be that bad. Should I remind you what you ate when you were five?" Willow said as she looked at him with raised eyebrows.
Xander's face turned red. "Um...no, don't need reminding."
That made Buffy curious. "When you were five? What did you eat Xander?"
Xander mumbled,"oh god" and hid his face with his hands.
Buffy then looked at Willow raising her brows.
"It was gross, he ate this mpf..." She said before feeling a hand over her mouth.
Meanwhile Tara was finding this amusing and thought she'd help Xander out. Besides, something in her gut told her she didn't want to know. "Parents night is next week."
Xander released his hold on Willow and gave Tara a thank you look.
Willow was the first to respond. "Yeah" She smiled, "I can't wait, I love those things!"
"That's because you have nothing to worry about. You always get straight A's. Have you ever gotten a B?" Buffy asked.
Willow sat up straight with a proud look on her face. "Nope..only A's."
"That's our Willow!" Said Xander putting his arm around the redhead.
Tara smiled, "Wow Willow, that's great!" Beautiful and smart? That's some combination...
The bell rang indicating lunch time was over.
"Ugh..back to class." Buffy commented.
"Well, it's better than the Pea Soup smell." The redhead said grabbing her books.
"Yeah..I think even I would rather be in class. We bronzing it tonight?" Xander asked.
"Yeah Xander, I'm there." Buffy said, she turned around to look at Tara. "You haven't been to The Bronze have you?"
"No, what is The Bronze?" The blonde asked as they started walking.
Willow was the first to answer..."Oh, it's the place to be in Sunnydale. You can dance, or play pool...everyone's there!"
Tara smiled at Willow's enthusiasm.
"So, you comin Tara? We usually go around eight." Buffy said hoping Tara would come.
"Sure...I'm not sure how to get there though."
"I'll come to your house and pick you up." Buffy said taking out a pen. "Write down your address."
Tara wrote her address down for Buffy then they all headed for class. She was excited about going to the Bronze.
Willow was sitting in the last class she had that day. She was staring at the clock paying no attention to the teacher.
Come on clock! You're moving too slow...if you're even moving at all. You need to move! That's what your hands are for...to move...around..around..just go around till your big hand hits the three.I have to get ready for the Bronze! Ok, so we do go every weekend but tonights different, see, a certain beautiful girl's gonna be there. Mmmm....beautiful...don't ya just love that word..BEAUTIFUL....yes, it most certainly fits. Willow's goofy grin turned downward a little. Okay...what? Why am I thinking this? I'm thinking a girl is...beautiful? The kind of beautiful that makes you go...yum? Oh boy, that's not posible...I'm straight! I mean..I had a boyfriend! It's ok, this doesn't have to be weird. She's pretty, I can say another girl's pretty. There's nothing wrong with that, but I want to kiss her. She has these amazing lips...mmmm....WAIT! That is NOT just an innocent.."I think she's pretty" thought. She was jossled out of her thoughts by the bell. She decided to put the thoughts about the blonde to the side and went home.
Later at the Bronze Willow and Xander were waiting for Buffy and Tara to arrive. Every five seconds Willow would look at the door.
"Expecting someone Will?" Xander asked eating chips that only half of made it to his mouth, the other half ended up on his lap.
Willow shifted nervously. "What? No..who would I be expecting?"
"Don't know, you just keep looking at the door." Xander replied through a mouthful of chips. Before Xander could say anything else he noticed Tara and Buffy come in. His jaw almost hit the floor at what he saw.
Willow noticed his expression and turned to look.
Tara was walking behind Buffy wearing tight bluejeans and an equally tight red mid-drift with a black leather jacket.
Willow was very thankful she wasn't standing, if she was she would've fell on the floor. The only thing the two could say was..."Wow." Xander tore his eyes away and looked at Willow with confusion all over his face. "Will? Did you just say "wow"?"
It was hard but she also looked away. "No, I didn't say that. Why would I say that? Cause if I were to say that then it would mean I'm attracted to her..and if I were attracted to her then I would want to kiss her and if I wanted to kiss her then I would want to...." She was cut off by Buffy's voice. "Hey guys! I'm gonna get something to drink...anyone want anything?"
Willow was feeling like she could pass out any minute.."Um..yes..water...lots?"
"Ok, one water coming up!" She took off to get the drinks.
The only place to sit was beside Willow so Tara took a seat making Willow feel like she was going to have a panic attack. Meanwhile Xander was mad at himself for not taking the couch, instead he chose the chair which he seriously regreted.
After talking, playing pool, and even dancing, the group thought it was time to head home.
When Buffy mentioned walking Tara home Willow jumped in and said she'd walk her home. After all, she wasn't tired and could use a walk.
Willow and Tara talked the whole way there. Neither of them feeling uncomfortable because of their feelings. They learned a lot more about each other and even laughed at each others jokes.
Once they arrived at Tara's Willow stopped on the top step causing Tara to almost run into her. "Tara?"
"Yes?"
"I'm fixing to do something you might not like. If you don't like it just tell me and I promise to never do it again, ok?"
Tara was suspicious but decided to go with it because she trusted Willow. "Ok"
That said Willow moved in closer to Tara. She saw Tara's breath hitch and momenterily stopped. After seeing that Tara didn't back away she continued towards her destination. Her lips were millimeters away from Tara. "Ohhh!...Ow!" She said as her foot stepped down unexpectedly causing her to fall foward. She ended up falling on Tara causing them both to crash to the ground. "ow..ow"
"Oh god..I'm sorry..are you okay?" Willow asked still on top of Tara.
"Um...yeah" Tara replied not noticing the pain from the fall. All she could see were the most beautiful green eyes she'd ever seen.
Willow was also staring at Tara. She moved in closer not able to wait any longer. Finally their lips connected. Both thinking the same thing...that this WAS heaven.
