Previously:
Tara walked upstairs. The thought of a long warm bath soothed her. In the bedroom she started looking for some clean clothes.
Next to the bed, there was a picture of her and Willow. She grabbed the picture and carefully looked at it.
She got warm inside, just looking at the picture. “God I wish this was true” she thought as she let out a sigh. The thought of her and Willow being a couple made her feel warm from head to toe, but at the same time she was nervous. There were so many things she didn’t know yet…
On a shelve in the closet she found a jar with green bath salts, she put the jar on the bed next to the rest of her stuff.
When she’d collected everything she headed to the bathroom to take a nice bath.
She turned on the tab and started to undress. She let the warm water touch her hand to check the temperature of the water.
When the bath tub was halfway filled with water she added the bath salts. She turned away and carefully put the rest of her stuff away on a chair.
When she turned around again to step in the bath tub something scared the crap out of her.
Tara started to scream…
Joan left Dawn and started running towards the bathroom.
“TARA!” she yelled while she was banging on the door “Tara what are you doing? Open up! Open up NOW!”Chapter 5bTara was just standing there her hand covering her mouth, a scared impression written all over her face. Joan stood at the other side of the door banging on it like crazy.
Tara grabbed a towel and put it around her, after that she quickly opened the door.
Joan was standing there with a stressed-out-face.
“Tara! What’s wrong?” Joan asked, visibly worried.
Tara didn’t say a thing she just stood there. All she did was point towards the bath tub.
When Joan noticed the big mess in the bath tub, it frightened her a little “WOA! What’s this?” she exclaimed. “What on earth happened here? What did you do?”
The bathwater had a clear green color, almost like some kind of very heavy poison. The entire bathroom was filled with a thick green steam.
“How did this happen?” Joan asked for the second time.
“I added this to the water” Tara said as she was pointing towards the little bottle with bath salts. “I thought it were bath salts, but… I don’t think they are…”
“We really should get rid of this crap before the entire neighbourhood starts to turn into a scary green area” Joan said.
“Good idea” Tara said with a sigh. She was relieved Joan wasn’t mad at her for screaming like she did before. “But how do you want to do that? I’m not going in there with my hands. God knows what might happen.”
In the mean time Willow came running up the stairs. She heard Tara scream and that made her inner alarm bells ring. She must help her!
“What happened? Is everything ok?” she asked with a worry tone in her voice.
Joan was pointing toward the bathtub, just like Tara did before. The green steam coming from the water, was starting to fill the entire first floor.
“Tara, get dressed and go outside.” Joan said “Willow get the others and get the outside aswell. I don’t know if it’s healthy to breathe this stuff. I’ll handle this!”
Tara grabbed her clothes in an instant and rushed to the bedroom. Willow followed her. When they were standing in the bedroom together an awkward situation followed.
Willow’s mind started to babble. “Tara was naked… she had to change. Why did I follow her! God Rosenberg you fool!”
Willow started to blush when she noticed following Tara wasn’t such a bright idea.
“Uhhh…. I’ll warn the rest now… I- I’d better go now” she said and she rushed out the room.
Willow ran down the stairs
“Guys, come on!” she yelled “We need to go outside!”
“Outside? Why?” Anya asked “What’s wrong?”
“Bath…” Willow stumbled over the words “Poison, green steam, dangerous, need to get out now!”
“Willow” Xander said “breathe…”
“Better not!” Willow answered “There is some kind of poisoned damp coming from the bath, outside is probably safer. Joan will handle it she said.”
“And you trust Joan well enough? Are you sure she can handle it like she says she can?” Anya said
“Just go!” Willow snapped “I’ll wait for Tara, meet you in a minute.”
With a big sigh Xander, Anya and Giles walked towards the front door.
“Willow!” Xander suddenly yelled “Dawn is still upstairs!”
“I’ll get her, just go out, now!” Willow replied.
Again Willow was running up the stairs towards Dawn’s room. She didn’t knock, just entered the room in a rush. Dawn was looking through the window. When Willow came in she turned around. Willow could tell by the look on her face that the teenager had been crying.
“Dawn? Are you ok?” she asked with a loving voice.
“Yeah, I’m fine” Dawn lied. She didn’t wanna tell anyone what she’d been reading.
“Who was screaming?” the teenager asked.
“Tara… we need to get out… steam…poison… Let’s go!”
Dawn didn’t ask anything, she just followed the redhead down the stairs. Downstairs they met Tara and the three of them walked outside to join the others. Everyone left Joan alone in the house to take care of everything.
Outside, the others were waiting for them with blank expressions on their faces.
“It’s cold” Anya whined while she was shaking out of proportion “Joan needs to hurry, I wanna go back inside”.
“It’s isn’t that warm indeed” Tara said while she put her own arms around herself.
Like an instinct Willow embraced her. “I’m sure it’s gonna be alright” she said “Joan sounded very convinced she could handle it.”
Tara didn’t say a word. The warmth coming from Willow’s embrace helped a little bit. She got real frightened up and she was shivering. Not really from the cold, more because of the fear.
Willow felt Tara shiver and pressed her a little closer towards her. It felt so natural, like it had always been that way, like it belonged that way.
Suddenly she realized that maybe Tara wasn’t feeling the same way about that.
“Sorry” she said while she was pushing Tara away from her “I…I d-didn’t want to… Here” she said while she took of her sweater and handed it over to Tara. “Take this, I’m not cold”.
“Don’t be silly!” Tara said “I like it when you were embracing me”.
Willow faces showed a grin from ear to ear. She wanted to put her arm back where it was a few seconds ago, but when she noticed the grinning faces of Dawn and Anya, she decided not to do that. She had made a fool of herself enough for today…

With a long stick she had found in her own bedroom, Joan pulled the plug out of the tub. The water slowly went through the drain.
When the last drop of water was gone, there was still steam coming from the drain.
“Great” Joan said, “Problem number one solved, say hi to number 2.”
She only saw one solution to her new problem and that was to put the plug back into the drain. When she’d done that she went out to get the rest of the gang.
“I think we can go back inside” Joan said “I’ve opened all the windows, so the steam should clear any minute now.”
“What was it?”Dawn asked “I haven”t seen anything.”
Her eyes were still a little red from crying before.
“Let’s discuss this inside” Anya said “I’m cold”. With a frozen face she walked back towards the front door. The rest of the gang silently followed her.
Everyone gathered in the living room. The couch was quickly filled, with such a large group of people. Willow, Tara and Joan sat down on the floor.
“Tara?” Dawn asked “What exactly happened? I heard screaming and Willow said something about poison or something?”
Tara gulped while she began to tell everyone what happened.
“I wanted to take a shower, gathered all my stuff from the bedroom when I found this jar with bath salts. When the bath was filled, I threw some of it in the water.”
Tara paused and let out a sigh
“When I turned around the water was turned bright green and there was this weird green steam coming from the water. The entire bathroom was filled with it. I got scared and couldn’t think of anything else then screaming.”
Tara bent her head, full of shame she watched at the floor. She could smack herself for the head for making such a fool of herself. Why hadn’t she thought of letting the water drain. Her eyes got a little teary and it seemed like she would break down in tears any moment.
Willow noticed it very quickly and put her arm around the blonde girl. This time she didn’t give a damn who was grinning about that. Tara was sad and that was the only thing that counted for her.
“Are you alright?” Willow asked with a loving voice.
“Yeah… I-I am… I… I just feel so stupid” Tara said “All I could do was scream. Joan had it solved in no time…”
“That’s nothing to feel stupid about!” Willow firmly said.
“Indeed!” Anya agreed “I would’ve probably screamed like a pig in danger.”
“Anya!” Willow and Dawn yelled at the same time. “Please keep your sarcastic remarks to yourself! Don’t you see she got scared?!” Dawn said with an angry voice.
“Tara?” she asked “Where did you find those bath salts?”
“In…in our bedroom” she replied.
“Ooooh” Dawn said with a tone in her voice, like she puzzled all the missing pieces together. The rest of the gang was watching her with surprised faces.
Dawn realized she said to much and put her hand against her mouth. She wasn’t intending to share this with the whole gang yet. She tried to find herself a way out of this, but when she saw Joan’s face she realized she needed to tell everyone.
“I… uhmm” she started.
“Come on! Spill!” Anya pushed.
Now it was time for Joan to snap at Anya. She could see that Dawn had some difficulties and the state her sister was in when she found her almost half an hour ago, was enough for her to stand up for her little sister now.
She knew Dawn had read something in her diary that made her upset, but she couldn’t tell what it was. She also knew Dawn would tell them when she thought she was ready to do that.
“It’s Willow” Dawn swallowed.
Willow swallowed as well and panic showed on her face. Her heart started to bounce like madness, she was going to discover something about herself, al least it seemed so, and when she saw the look on the teenagers face, it wasn’t something positive.
“You mean Willow caused this? That’s not possible cause…”
“Anya shut up!” Dawn yelled “God you are so…”
“Willow is…she… I don’t know where to start… I..”
“Come on spill!” Anya started to get inpatient.
“Willow is something very powerful.” Dawn swallowed again “I uhhh… sorta found that out when I found a diary.”
Willow eyes were almost popping out of surprise and she quickly let go of Tara, afraid to hurt her.
“I what?!” she exclaimed.
“Something about you Will… in a short time you became something very powerful, you went all black eyed. I think you are a witch or something… a very powerful one…”
“And..” Willow felt tears growing behind her eyes “so… w-what Tara added to the water… was mine… it’s all my fault this happened.”
“NO!” Tara suddenly yelled very loud “I added that stuff to the water! Not you! It’s not your fault, even if it is your stuff!”
That was the last thing Willow needed before she broke down in tears. The fact that she was some kind of a scary witch, somehow felt ok with her, but the fact that Tara still supported her and stood up for her, that was the thing that caused a small mental breakdown. It was all too much for her right now. She couldn’t stand the fact that she endangered the woman she loved. Did she love Tara anyway? She thought so. Right at the moment she wanted to get up and run upstairs, she felt Tara’s arm around her, just like she did before herself when Tara needed it.
