Hedwig and the Angry Inch vs The Rocky Horror Picture show

I just saw Hedwig for the first time over the weekend and loved it. The music is really catchy and it's got an interesting plotline.



I know there's a big debate, if one is better then the other, or do you love both Rocky and Hedwig equally?





I think I like them equally, but I've never seen the stage preformance of Hedwig done Rocky style...

..this song is my anthem and it makes up my ideals and who I am... cause we pay for the stupid things we've done..if we ever use common sense it comes pretty cheap...Tegan and Sarah

I've only seen movie versions and I've seen Rocky Horror way more times than Hedwig. I think Hedwig is likely a better film, but Rocky Horror is just way too fun.

And c'mon, how sexy is Tim Curry?!

I did like Hedwig okay, but my heart belongs to RHPS and it always will. They're kinda different, or so it seems to me, at least in the stories they are trying to tell. As a story, I think Hedwig is a more compelling story. But just for sheer enjoyment, it's all about the RHPS for me. That was the first fandom I was ever invested in (and the only other one I've ever been invested in besides W/T), so it has a special place in my heart and nothing can ever replace it.



And, yeah, Frank is sexy as hell.

I try not to examine my Frank-Lust too closely. Really, why bother? Sexy is as a sexy does!



I just can't decide when I love him best. In the elevator with those kick-ass shoes or at the end with the feather boa. mmmmmmm!



And oh yeah, Susan Sarandon ain't half bad.

Cicca, I think Frank would want to you examine your Frank-lust closely. Veeeery closely.



For me, it's definitely in the elevator! I still get this lovely tingle as the Time Warp winds down. "Sweet Transvestite" is the best song ever. (I used to have a bootleg tape that had a remix of ASH's version and it was sooooo good. As good as Tim Curry's.) Musically, I have to say that I think the Roxy cast soundtrack might even be better than the film soundtrack.



Frank is such a fascinating character. So, so, so evil, but all he wanted was for someone to love him.



Heh, I've seen Hedwig once, but I've seen RHPS...um...a lot...I lost count...
