Good places to find LGBT Teens?

Postby Zodiax » Mon May 19, 2008 5:44 am

Hey Kittens. I'm just wondering where do you usually find likeminded and possibly single >_> <_< LGBT Teens?

It doesn't really matter if it's in real life or websites on the internet. Anything will do >.<

I really need to branch out more so Suggestions would be awesome (:

I don't know if it's appropriate here so if it isn't, Mods please feel free to delete this.

Thank you :D

Haha oh dear. You know I used to have the same problem? Still do. I guess if you hear of LGBT events, such as mardi gras, protests, groups, i dunno, go to them. Just go to random places, like suburbs around you. that's what I did. Australia seems to be seriously lacking in places for the LGBT community to hang out.

Using the internet is popular. There are a few like, dating site things out there i think. My friend went on a website called pink couch or something, but i think she had to pay, so she couldnt be bothered :p

You could even meet people here on kitten board i guess. We are probably the most 'like-minded', all here for the same reason...mostly.

Dont worry, there are plenty of single teens out here in Australia looking for the exact same thing as you are, like me for example. Not that that's a come on or anything, cos it totally isn't :p I can just relate to you :)

Good luck with your endeavours! Hope this helped a bit ;)

wow, two ozzians, what are the chances!

couple of friends have recommended me pinksofa.com.au and gaydargirls.com.au

otherwise, erm, online communities like livejournal.com or facebook groups? i don't know about brissy's club scene, and that depends on what kinda girls (physically) you're into.

Problem is... I'm kinda closeted and I'm in an extremely homophobic school >.< ( homophobic i mean " zomg gay kid -bashes- " )

And that I'm uh... Fifteen >.<

But thank you for the suggestions Lifty and inlerf (:
I'll try some of them :D

More would be nice though. -winks-

Most large cities have LGBT Community Centers or programs for queer youth. Try an internet search or contacting a GSA at a different, non-honophobic school (or a local college). Also, try coffeeshops in known gay neighborhoods (or gayborhoods). Good place to hang out and meet people when you're too young for clubs.
