:pinky when my kids where 8 and 6 it rained so we could not take them out trick or treating. so everyone got in a room of the house and let them go from door to door it was cool they had so much fun and so did I.

Last Halloween would definitely have to be my best Halloween to date. I went into Salem (a 15minute drive from my house) with my best friend to meet up with a few of our other friends. I went to give one of my buddies a hug and caught my first glance of a girl that was with them. She was stunning and immediately caught my attention. We all went to Denny's that night and suffice it to say, she was the only one I was paying attention to. I got home at 4 in the morning, thoughts racing about the really awesome chick who had just crashed into my life.
Really long story short: We started dating less than a month later. We're still together, and are planning on going into Salem on Halloween to celebrate the one year anniversary of our having met.

When I was in 8th grade, I went as a Jedi for Halloween. Nothing particularly original, but it was fun. My best friend went as a crazy cat lady, and she had all these beanie baby cats that she would throw at people. What made that halloween the best was the baseball that we played with the cats and my lightsaber (blue, of course.) We had so much fun, especially cause we kept accidently hitting people that passed by. And we got lots of candy!

This year will be awesome too, though. I'm going up to visit my girlfriend. She's going as a ninja, and I'm going as a firate (like a pirate, cept with a ferret instead of a parrot.) Going as a firate avoids that whole ninja vs pirate thing, so it's perfectly acceptable for us to hug.

This will undoubtedly be the best ever.

Because I have three parties. And because I'm not gonna be sober for any of them. Wayhaaaay! I decided on vampire queen type. :D

Not necessarily the best Halloween ever, but this was the closest thread I could find to wish everyone else a Happy Halloween!

We live way out in the countryside with only a handful of houses on our entire street, so no kids ever come around. I used to tell Mrs. Gorn all about Halloween back when we lived in Japan, how fun it was, how we had to buy a bunch of candy for all the kids ... and then we end up living where there aren't any kids for miles and miles. Last year we started calling people we knew who didn't live too far away and beg them to bring their kids Trick Or Treating to our house. A lot of people who live further out than we do drive into town anyway, so they stop by on the way. Mrs. Gorn has SO much fun decorating the house, playing scary music, and giving out all kinds of candy & balloons to whoever shows up. Silly, but very fun.

A long-standing tradition my brother & I always had was to watch Disney's "Ichabod & Mr. Toad" every year. Anybody out there seen it? That has to be my all-time favourite Disney cartoon. Anyway, earlier this year Mrs. Gorn & I started working our way through all 7 seasons of Buffy, and the "Halloween" episode was one of our favourites. We vowed to pop that one back in again when Halloween actually came, and - just like that - a new Halloween Tradition was born in the gorn household!!

I hope everyone else out there is having a great Halloween. The holidays of this season - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's has to be the best stretch of the entire year. And it starts tonight with Halloween.

I hope the roast was good, ktv!

the roast was phenomenal, gorn. thanks for asking. my housemates were thrilled to have an old-fashioned home-cooked meal (not that we don't cook around here, but it was totally "like mom used to make") and we had a great time gorging and passing out candy to the handful of trick-or-treaters that came by. so i'm not going to rank this as my best halloween ever, but it was definitely nice and low-key.

my first year of law school i went to salem, mass for the weekend with a friend of mine from CA who was also in mass for grad school. we dressed up - she as what she termed "a 50s greaser-fag" complete with hanky-code compliant hankies, and me as a white-wigged barrister with a gavel i used to knock about people who stood in our way - and joined the masses in the huge street party that takes over that town on halloween. the next day we went sightseeing and had a gay old time. much, much fun.

This Halloween. My niece is on the couch watching a movie and jumping around because she's really hopped up on candy. Good times.

well certainly not this year...I had a reaction to my zombie makeup and woke up in the morning with my face looking like I had sun poisoning...all puffed up and pink :happy

probably the most fun was in college when we had front row seats for the B-52s on Halloween night...and the previous night had gone to a party as a dominatrix with my best friend Todd on a dog lead...we won best costume and I had a great time popping balloons with my bullwhip and got many interesting propositions from some cute girls...too bad I wasn't out to myself at the time
