Tatoo

Postby EndlessDestiny » Sun Apr 15, 2007 1:38 pm

This is a bit of a random thread. Heh.

Anyway.

I've been thinking about getting a tatoo, possibly an armband or something on my back, possibly wings. I'm not sure if it's a good idea though. There would be pain, I'd need to know the needle was sterile, picking the design, telling my mom I wanted a tatoo...

Does anyone have any suggestions, adivice, websites with good designs?
For all those words of tongue and pen, the saddest are those: "It might have been."

Tara ended up next to Oz in the elevator. He looked at her, nodding to himself.
"What?" She asked.
"You look good. Kinda radiant."
Tara nodded. "I was resurrected a few days ago."
Oz arched an eyebrow. "That'll do it."

The best tattoo advice available is this: think about it for a good long time. It's going to be with you forever, so make sure it's something you love and something that feels important to you.

A really good tattoo artist will design your tattoo especially for you. It will be something that no one else has. My wife recently had a wonderful experience with a tattoo artist in New York that had been recommended to her by lots of her coworkers. She had been gathering images and thinking about ideas for a couple years. She brought those into him and they talked about what she was looking for. Then he did some sketching based on the contours of her arm. They met once more to revise and hone the design, and a third time to do the actual tattoo. The result was really stunning and she is very happy with it.

So keep thinking about it and ask around for other people's stories of what their tattoo experience was like. Word of mouth is the best way to find an artist who is skilled, clean, and kind. Good luck!
