The idea of this game is to "travel" around the world not in 80 days, as depicted in the Jules Verne novel, but in 80 photos. We're not actually bothered about using exactly 80 photos, the important thing is the pleasure of travel and not the hurry.
Rules
- First poster posts a picture from a country. We always start and end in London since it is where the novel started.
- Next poster posts a picture from a neighbouring country, one that can be travelled from the previous location by a land or sea route. Flying takes the fun out of the game. It MUST be a neighbouring country, or another part of the same country. Click here for a map with names and locations of countries.
- Include a brief description of how to get there as well as what is in the picture. Remember, it's the pleasure of travelling, and part of that is sharing the experience with other people.
- The image must be hosted on your own webspace or an image hosting site. Do not hotlink! Examples of free image hosting sites are:
- It goes without saying that the picture must be your own, or you have permission to use it. It shouldn't be a problem with travel pictures, but please ensure the subject is tasteful. No art, scans of postcards, stock photos, drawings etc. This is a photography game.
- Do not post pictures that are too large. The mods will edit posts that mess up the margins. As a rule, the maximum size of the longest side should not exceed 500px. It's best to post a smaller image that links to a larger image, for an example of how to nest "url" and "img" tags the code I used to post the picture below is:
- Code: Select all

- When we return to London, we start the game again.

We start in London.
This is Albert Hall, where every September it is filled with balloons, whistles and the rousing chorus of Land of Hope and Glory. Take it from here, and Bon Voyage!
