Back to School Blues

Postby NewRuthRising » Mon Sep 04, 2006 8:51 am

Is anyone starting school again this month? a lot of my friend are going off to uni, I'd be joining them but for my health, so I was wondering how the kittens deal with it?
"And beyond the Wild Wood?" asked the Mole.
"The Wide World," said the Rat. "And that doesn't matter."

I started school two weeks ago. I wouldn't mind so much if they hadn't forced me to do Geography to fill up my timetable. But I'm doing A Level Biology and A Level Chemistry. It's great.

Umm.. Dealing with it.. Try to have a laugh while you're in school.. Try really hard so your attention is taken up with getting the best marks and grades you can and you don't notice so much that you're in school.

Geography I hate because it's too easy and doesn't hold my attention. Biology and Chemistry are both really challenging so it's interesting. Oh well. Just 9 months then I'm done with it forever. Off to vet school, hopefully. Yay!

Maths books do NOT count. My friends and I tortured our maths books before we burned them. It's totally fine. In fact, it gives you GOOD karma.

Back to school season depresses me now, only because I'm too broke to start college. I realized this would be my third year in school if I had started right out of high school....instead I wound up wasting over two years. But when my new facility director starts in October he's putting me on salary, and one of the benefits I'll get is tuition reimbursement (up to $6000) for any school I choose...So I'm applying to the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University. I'd much rather go to UPenn though. I realllllllly hope they accept me.

So my back-to-school blues are about NOT going back to school. I'm a nerd, I can't help it...

Well, I am a teacher, and being back at school sucks for us too. I nearly died of exhaustion my first day back. Made me wonder how i get the energy to finish out the year, but I guess you get used to it.
