so i took some of my holiday blackjack winnings and got the seagate 200 g ext.hd with bounceback. downloaded the bounceback, had the seagate hooked up correctly, and i still didn't get it right. i think i told it no when i should have told it yes, and it didn't back up to the seagate, and when i tried to correct it like i thought the instructions were telling me to, it started talking about reformatting my hard drive. i'm sure it's an easy fix probably but i freeze up-help? thanx, mary

You might want to try launching BounceBack with the drive disconnected - when I do that, the program asks if I'd like to select a new drive. Select 'new drive', then plug in the powered-on Seagate - when it appears in the left-hand menu, select it. You can also adjust where your backups go to in the BounceBack Settings section. Just 'add set', put your whole HD contents in and then choose the Seagate drive (it has to be connected and on, of course) as the backup location. If that doesn't help, email me and I'll see if I can't figure it out. :)

I have been using FireFox now for a week, it's neat, but I am not giving up IE. Especially since I have too many Web APIs that IE uses.

I have IE and safari installed on my iBook. I'm not thrilled with either frankly. I have Firefox installed on my desktop, but wanted to see if anyone had used it on their Mac, specifically an iBook... anybody?

I don't have it installed on an iBook but I do have it installed on a Linux system (Mandrake to be exact). It runs great!!! But, in the morning I will ask a friend of mine what he thinks about FF on his G4... =)

Just a quick question. I have never had a reason to installed Windows XP SP2 edition. I have been using SP1 for ever now but I lost my installation disc, so I had to buy the SP2 version. Anyhoo, I have searched and searched and I have had mixed answers about problems with SP2. Does anyone have it installed and if you have had any problems, what kind of problems are they??? The main problems that I have seen with sp2 is some driver incompatibilities and problems with some apps that access the network. You can try an upgrade and then roll it back if stuff doesn't work but there is a risk that it could hose the works so data backups are a must.

Welp, so far, so good. I haven't run into any major problems yet. Some of my FTP software can't access my websites, but that's okay, I have other software I can use. But all in all, it seems to be running good. A little slower to boot, but bearable. =)

Mozilla just released Firefox 1.0.3 and Mozilla1.7.7.



You can get them here.



One thing though, there was a problem with 1.0.3 betas and extensions. They seem to have fixed the problem, but just in case, follow the steps here to make sure everything goes well.



Personally, I upgraded through Firefox and everything went perfect. No need to delete anything and all my extensions work fine. But it's best to back up your profile, just in case

I did a search on Google yesterday, as I became aware that I didn't know anything about BBcode. And I can across a extension that gives you all the BBcodes at your right clicking finger tips. Really handy and seems to me to be really useful. Check it out and give it a shot...

My complete lack of knowledge about I-Macs means I can't help a gf who has a problem, maybe one of you can help.She is using Internet Explorer 4.5 and is trying to download MSN Messenger but all she gets when she finishes is an icon that says disc copy. A marketing website used to promote the open source Firefox web browser has been hacked, and personal details of tens of thousands of Firefox supporters may have been compromised.

The spreadfirefox.com website, which is run by the Mozilla Foundation, was shut down for several days last week by the attack.

It is believed the attackers were trying to use the website as a vehicle to send out spam.

Mozilla is encouraging the site’s estimated 100,000 users to log in and change their passwords as a way of protecting their personal data held by the site.

Spreadfirefox.com has been used to raise cash from open source advocates to help advertise and market Firefox.
