I'll take your word for it, Zippy. ;)

Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid.

Oh... And Kronney 1664... :drool Have to agree there!

Listening to Hooverphonic at the moment... Very good.

And I think I heard that the Bangles were coming back?? :eek

Ok so I have been ill the past couple of days and during the times I wasn't totally dead to the world asleep and my eyes let me focus properly, I have been sorting out my mp3's trying to free up some bloody space on my hard drive. Don't you just love it when you rediscover songs that make you feel good? :D

Frisbie have been off my playlist for while and so to compensate I just had 'Shine' playing very loud in my room, which in hindsight probably wasn't great for a headache, but damn it was worth it! :grin Have also got back in to my Massive Attack groove ready for the gig in April. Yay! And Tamsin Archer - hehehe great voice :D

Also thanks to my lovely gf I have a big pile of cds she brought back from America for me and I am gradually working my way through - my music collection is looking decidedly full. I have run out of shelf space and my desk looks like an explosion in a studio :blush I so happy! :grin Ok, ok simple things amuse me! :sh

Have also recently discovered the joys of Homegrown - the band not the herbal cigarettes ;) - and 'Not Alone' is a great track if any kittens are out looking for a tune to jump up and down and not care if you look like a fool to :grin

Ok I am off to try and make some sense of this myriad of cd cases littered around my room now - wish me luck! :peace

Well Westlife aren't really my thing either, but it was a necessary evil to get my gayboy friends to shell out for tickets to the Kylie tour, but I actually enjoyed the show.

I have recently aquired the Foo Fighters album, One by One . I have to say I wasn't too keen at first but it is really starting to grow on me.

Oh Ruth, Go West greatest hits, excellent :grin

I LOVE Dar Williams! I recently got to see her in concert, and she is so amazing... best ally ever! Also big in my ears right now: Jarabe de Palo, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Mana, and pretty much any Spanish pop that I can find (I love the beat, really... :blush ). --Nora

Ooooh, Nora, I like Maná, too. But no one will ever be able to take the place of Aterciopelados in my heart. I love them...I love them so much I can't even say it. They're not even human, they're so great. But, I'm loving Moxi almost as much, too. Also, in no particular order: Juanes, Thalia, Laura Pausini, Bacilos, Kabah, Manu Chao, Enanitos Verdes, Alejandra Guzman, Soda Stereo, Cabas, Ana Gabriel, Barricada, La Ley, Olga Tañon...I know I'm forgetting people...oooh, do you like Bellepop? I bet you do. Or you would. Oooh, and OV7? Their songs are ridiculously catchy. It's almost wrong how catchy they are. Ooooh...Hombres G? Like them? Crap, I know I'm still forgetting people.

I like poppy and rocky, but mostly here lately I'm spending as much or more time listening to norteño and banda as I am the pop and rock stuff. I cannot turn away from tubas and accordions, I just can't. :heart

Please allow me to ooooh again because I don't think I did it enough. :shy

He's actually from Québec :p and there are different versions of his sketches : one for the Quebecker audience and one for the French audience, since the accent and some of the vocabulary is different ;)

I even have an autographed CD :)

And Saule : yes, Alizée :grin

Her best-known song is called "Moi, Lolita", it was probably the one you heard at your X-mas party ;)

Edited to add : for those of you who are curious, I put up Alizée's new song (in English) here : mapage.noos.fr/bfrisfalling/Imfedup.mp3 :evil

Bands/artists I listen to, but haven't seen in concert:

BoB Dylan, Beatles, Enya ("the celts"), Beastie Boys, Live, REM, Living Color, Gorillaz, Led Zeppelin, Boiled in Lead (think of Irish trad in a punk-ska speed pacing), Tool, Staind, Queens of the Stone Age, Cream (Giles isn't alone!), Stone Temple Pilots, CSNY, De Dannann and still growing daily.

Bands/artists I listen to, and have seen in concert:

Indigo Girls (3x), Tracy Chapman (2x), U2 ("Joshua Tree" tour), Queen (2x), Aerosmith (2x in late '70's), Allmann Bros. (1978), Fleetwood Mac (1982), The Who (1st farewell tour, 1983ish, 120+ decibels), Talking Heads (1984ish), Bruce Springsteen ("Born in the USA" tour, 1985), John Denver (1985), Elton John (1985), The Cars (1985), Eric Clapton (with Phil Collins on drums), Pink Floyd (2x, 1987, Milwaukee county stadium and the Metrodome), Rolling Stones ("Steel Wheels" tour), Lynnard Skynnard (1989), Charlie Daniels (2x), Bob Segar (2x), B.B. King (1995), James Taylor (2000), Barenaked Ladied (2002) and Stevie Ray Vaughn (2x - almost saw him three. His next stop from Wisconsin was a make-up date in Minnesota. *SIGH*).

List of other bands/artists I've seen, sorry:

Barry Manilow, ELO (opener: spanking new group - Hall and Oates), The Go-Go's (opener: Flock of Seagulls), ZZ Top (Destroyer tour), Pat Benatar (cutest over bite in a full body skin-tight black spandex :drool Opener: Eddie Money)

Last week I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor live. It was absolutely stunning. I highly recommend them for all your modern instrumental/chamber needs.

I'm completely and hopelessly addicted to The Flaming Lips now. I really love "The Soft Bulletin," but oh lord, "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots." I swear these are the songs that have been running through my head since I was a wee music tot. I'm going to see them live on April 15. I cannot wait. My friend told me that the last time she saw them she "got a bunch of crap in [her] hair." I can't wait.

Wiccanluv - yeh, The Breeders rock completely. Kim Deal is nothing other than a goddess, and completely glad they're recording again.

Bowieinberlin - you saw Godspeed! Thats so awesome. They're like my regular nightime companions. I can get lost in their music. Particular favourite is the first movment of Levez Vos skinny fists comme antennae to heavne - beautiful mucis.

Flaming Lips are another favourite, although if you havent already, check out the Clouds Taste Metallic album. For me, their best, which makes it better than most pop music ever

My music taste varies a lot depending on my mood. I've been really into the new Sleater-Kinney album, "One Beat", lately. All their albums are great, but I really like the new one. Plus I've been to two of their concerts in the last 6 months or so.

Here's the cds I've been taking everywhere with me recently:

Sleater-Kinney, One Beat, All Hands on the Bad One, and Dig Me Out

Le Tigre, self-titled

Fleetwood Mac, Rumours

Metallica, the black album

Portishead, Dummy

Tori Amos, Boys for Pele

L7, Bricks are Heavy

Bikini Kill, Pussy Whipped

Sara McLachlan, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

The Beatles, Rubber Soul

Black Sabbath, We Sold our Souls for Rock n' Roll

the Pixies, Doolittle

As usual, lots of music here that I've been listening to in the recent past, esp. Sleater-Kinney and the Donnas. Lately I've also been playing the new Cat Power cd,You Are Free, the new Be Good Tanyas, Chinatown, The Distillers dvd, a new band (to me, anyway) called Manda and the Marbles who have the good taste to do a Holly and the Italians cover on their cd, the latest Tsunami Bomb, the new Ani Difranco as well as a couple of older titles that won't go away, Kathleen Edwards Failer cd and the latest Tegan and Sara. :peace
