Well, since I'm hearing it right now...that Nightmare on Elm street song...with the creepy little kids singing to the tune of “one two buckle my shoe“... really freaks me out. *bites nails* I wish I had changed the channel...

Anything at all by REO Speedwagon freaks me out because I immediately visualize the lead singer and he scares me. How can someone look so much like the drool-worthy Robin Curtis and still be that scary? I'll chalk it up to gender and change my radio station.

There's another kids' song that I find totally bizarre and creepy... Remember that cute little french ditty called "Alouette"??? I used to sing it as a kid until I learned what it's about. It's about ripping apart a bird! Here are some lyrics and the english translation:

Alouette, gentille Alouette (Skylark, nice skylark)
Alouette, je te plumerai (Skylark, I will pluck you)
Je te plumerai la tête (I will pluck your head)
(Je te plumerai la tête) (I will pluck your head)
Et la tête (And the head)
(Et la tête) (And the head)
Alouette (Skylark)
(Alouette) (Skylark)
O-o-o-oh
Alouette, gentille Alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai

The song continues in this fashion, but each time you're plucking a different body part:

Et le cou (And the neck)
Et le dos (And the backbone)
Et les ailes (And the wings)
Et les pattes (And the feet)

Totally creepy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Hall of the Mountain King"

No lyrics. Just creepy. Anyone seen the movie "City of Lost Children"? The music is a recurring theme and never at happy moments (are there happy moments in that movie??). A child abductor whistles it.

Just googled it and find it interesting that it was also whistled by a child murderer in a 1931 flick with Peter Lorre called "M". Which I must now rent, likely completely freaking me out.

Huh.

My sister and I like Peaches by Presidents Of The United States Of America, the video was on MTV a few days back and she sent me a message yelling about it, was most amusing as that song, however...uh...weird, got us through our childhood. Hee! Lyrics are below for your amusement.

Moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches
I'm Moving to the country, I'm gonna eat me a lot of peaches
I'm Moving to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
Moving to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches

Peaches come from a can
They were put there by a man
In a factory downtown

And if I head my little way
I'd eat peaches everyday
Sun-soaked bulges in the shade

Moving to the country, I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
Moving to the country, I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
I'm Moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches
Moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches

I took a little nap where the roots all twist
Squished your rotten peach in my fist
And dreamed about you, woman
I poked my finger down inside
Make a little room for an ant to hide
Nature's candy in my hand or can or pie

Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free... Look out!

Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free
Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free... Look out!

Who Let The Dogs Out by the Baha Men I think they are. Seriously, that song freaks me out. Theres no point to it. I remember the first time I heard it, my unbreakable concentration when I was reading failed me. Most people have to try to talk to me for twenty minutes to get me to respond, or even just to hear them. That song came out and the second it started I said what the f*** is this s***. Ever since then its completely creeped me out. I can't even hear the beginning of it without turning it.

Just about every cut on Pink Floyd's "The Wall." Very deeply disturbing. Musically, lyrically, everything. I think the album itself is even more disturbing than the film. It's one of the best albums I've ever heard, but it makes me feel very, very uncomfortable. I've got to be in that particular mood to listen to it, or I don't want to hear it at all. I'll walk out of a room where it's playing.

the "Stacy's Mom" song creeps me it out; it's gross for teenagers to like moms.
"To days to come."
"All my love to long ago.

I hope, we'll have more happy ever after
I hope, we can all live more fearlessly...

Rock A Bye Baby

Rock a bye baby, on the tree top,
When the wind blows the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.

I shiver everytime I hear this atrocity. I never sang it to my kids. Poor baby.

I'm not surprised. The context of many of the nursery rhymes and songs are quite horrid.

Check out more of Little Bo Peep:

The other verses is as follows:

Little Bo Peep fell fast asleep
and dreamt she heard them bleating
When she awoke she found it a joke
for they were still a-fleeting.

Up she took her little crook
determined for to find them
she found them indeed
but it made her heart bleed
for they'd left all their tales
behind them.

(That's all I remember.)
