Hey, there were a bunch of Kittens in Chicago! We had a big gathering there last year in June (see the Kitten Gathering Thread a ways back!) but more might have joined since then. We should definitely try and get another gathering together for this spring/summer too! (I usually get back 2-3 times a year!)

hey xita :wave I knew you were from quatemala (my mom was born there...she says it has some really beautiful places, haven't seem 'em myself but I'm sure they exist) and now I'm finding out that you live in san fernando too. i just moved to the valley...a small town right next to san fernando, sylmar if you know it. it's so strange cause all the stores here close at 10 pm, some earlier even and coming from the city it's quite an adjustment I've had to make...I'm used to going out at midnight and finding most places still open. it's so quiet here too, which is good cause I like the quiet, it's just weird. and I don't know if this is ironic or just extremely sad but after having two cats in the city for three years...we move to this quiet clean little town and after seven months we lose one :( and it's been raining so much lately and god I just hope we find her soon.

well this certainly ended in a completely different place from where it started...just want to say hi and it's good to know that there someone from the kitten that's somewhat close.

As far as the world goes I still don't have a clue, what it's for or what it's about, but until I find out I'll just call it home.

I live in the most amazing place on the Earth.

I live in Rijeka (that's in Croatia) and there are only two places I can compare it to- Spain and Turkey.

It's the biggest port of Croatia and it used to be the biggest port of Austria- Hungary.

Everything is Mediterranean and there is no place in the world where the sea is so clear and the sky is so blue :grin

People here speak mostly croatian and italian and we even have croatian and italian schools.

And the food is great.

I've been to many places (from England to Tenerife) and there is no place like home.

Even though Croatia mostly sucks. But Rijeka is great.

oh yeah, Rijeka (Fiume in italian) means river...

Seduce my mind and you can have my body... find my soul and I'm yours forever.

Well I might as well post in here. I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. My entire family lives in the Birmingham area of Alabama. I moved to Northern Virginia about 10 years ago. I live in Montclair, it's just outside of D.C....maybe 25/30 minutes (well at least with my driving). I hate it here. Alabama people just can't live anywhere but Alabama. :( I'm going to be getting my master's degree at UAB in a bit though, so I'll be home soon. :)

:shock Oh, my goodness, I had no idea you were from Alabama. What a small world. I went to UAB myself, off and on. I lived in Southside for years, but I'm under Vulcan's ass now (he's back up, you know, and extra shiny), technically about ten feet inside Homewood. I work in Birmingham, though, not far from UAB, actually.

I know exactly what you mean, about not being able to live anywhere else. I tried once, years ago, and it just did not work, for many reasons. I love it here. I really think I could probably be happy just about anywhere, if the circumstances of my life were good, but I sure would miss it.

I went to UAB too. Not the best school in the world but best to me. Lots people are willing to help you achieve your goal if you do your best. I lived in Idlewild Circle for two and half years then moved to LA couple years ago, I still miss my nice simple Birmingham days, I consider that's my second hometown.

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many Alabama Kittens around here!

maudmac- Maybe we'll run into each other when I come to Birmingham in a few years. :) I won't be in Alabama for a while (minus the relative visit this Christmas) but my graduate years of college should be fun. I'll check out that newspaper, I've not heard of it.

jamboree- Yeah UAB may not be your Ivy League school, but they do have some good programs (they're one of only a few that offer my master's in forensic science). Of course, I've not even gotten a bachelor's, I actually have a year left of high school, but...I have my life pretty planned. At least through my doctorate degree, anyway. :)

Glad to see all these Alabamians.

I've lived in many places, First 5 years lived in Modesto, Ca. then Marlow, Okla. and finally last 30 years here in Virginia. 2 years in Williamsburg, ( I met my mate there),

2 year in a little town call Waynesboro, 1 year in Charlottesville, and the last 24 here in Richmond. (whew!). We're finally able to buy a house 5 years ago.

It's 75 years old, lots of horsehair plaster and singlestrand wiring, my mate says we'll never have to get another hobby! I say it's a good thing she like fixing things!

I'll chime in as one of the Texas folks. I'm from the ever infamous city of Waco (not a Branch Dividian, haven't met the president though I have seen his plane land at my school, and I don't know anything about the Baylor basketball player case.) I've lived here all my life, same house up until a year ago when I moved out on my own finally (freedom!), and am looking forward to getting out of the Bible belt. :)

I've lived in Indiana my whole life pretty much, well I lived in Oregon for almost a year when I was 4.

Sometimes people from other places, like non US places, they'll like message me and be like are you from India, I'm like no thats Indiana USA. My town is so small, like seriously. We have one stoplight and we got a Wendys. We're upgrading haha. The nearest Starbucks is like 60 miles away.

Hey, I'm from Indiana as well. It's a whole array of no fun at all. I've been here my whole life though. In the past three years I've been all over the state though. I grew up in south-central Indiana, then two years ago moved to the very south-west part to go to school at USI, and now this year I've moved into the eastern portion for school at Ball State. It's been my conclusion that no matter what part of the state I'm in, it's always the same thing. Not very exciting really. You must be in a very secluded part to have 60 miles between you and a Starbucks. Enjoy it though. Starbucks sucks. But then again that's just me and my whole "buy locally" side coming out as usual. Glad to see someone else from the region though.

I've got an electric guitar. I play my stupid songs. I write these stupid words, and I love every one. If I went back some place I know that life was perfect like a TV show then 1993 is where I’d go cause Galaga was my only fight and it was cool to ride my bike we’d sneak out to cough on cigarettes and break it down with old cassettes up in my room it felt so safe where Kurt and Billy never looked at me strange.

Indiana is really boring! Have you ever been to Bloomington? I live like a half hour from there, theres a mall there and thats the closest mall to me.

When I drive to Bloomington, like seriously its so boring, its fun if I have friends and music and stuff but its like hey theres a gas station and some trees and a house and oh look some more trees. Thats not exaggerating either.

My friends and me are gonna go on a road trip to Cincinnati when spring break comes around. What a big road trip I know lol but I'm on a limited budget.

Yes, I've been to Bloomington. Quite a few times actually. One of my best friends is from there and I have friends at IU. My parents' house is 45 mintues southeast of Bloomington. Cincinnati is fun. When you're there, see if you can catch a show maybe at Bogart's or the Void. Two great venues. I know small town life though. I lived in the middle of nowhere for 18 years. You just have to find your own fun. Try going to a playground with your friends and goof off on the swings or get your hands on a video camera and go around filming everything. It's a lot of fun. Really, I promise.

I live like 25 or so miles south of Bloomington. My brother and all our friends, we video tape everything, its so awesome. Our camera right now is actually broken which sucks beyond belief. We're gonna either buy a new one or fix the one we have now before we go to Cincinnati.

We were gonna go to Chicago but I think that would be too overwhelming since I live in such a small town and thats pretty much all I've ever known.

I really wanna go to Bogarts, they have so many awesome bands there. Ash was there a while ago but I missed it. Saves the Day and Taking Back Sunday are gonna be there September 26. I really wanna go but I doubt I'll be able to. Its on a Friday, I work Fridays.

Right now i live in North-West England. Near Blackpool to be exact. Apparently a very popular tourist place.. i honestly don't see the attraction though.. big lights maybe??:eyebrow

But the town where i live.. we have nothin.. or may as well have nothing. We have like 7 take outs. 3 restaurants like 3 banks and 3 churches.. and a hardware store... but like no clothes stores so the little main strip of a town is useless:sh :applause
