Heya hun - sorry for the delay in feedback. Busy ya know...getting ready for my flight up to see you. Oh...and foorball season started. Go Broncos!! They won...and so did the Vikings and it looks like Detroit ended their 24-away game losing streak.



Now back to the story...love the classic Giles 'Good Lord.' Can't have a good Buffy story without it. And slayer dreams. Very interesting...but can't be good.

Hello Kittens!



As you all know - I got a new job! YAY! I will be starting tomorrow - and will be staying in Lansing for a week for the training. Therefore, I most likely will not have access to the internet this week until Friday night. However, I'm sure that with five nights in a hotel room by myself, I will have plenty of time to write updates for both MY FIRST and TIMELESS. So check back on Friday night! I promise it will be worth it!

CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR





“Don’t do that!” Buffy said, rolling her eyes. “I hate it when you do that!”



“Do what? What did I miss?” Faith asked, not privy to the subtle nuance of ‘Giles-isms’.



“The glasses thing…and he’s all with the ‘Good Lords’ and everything!” Buffy said, pacing.



“Never a good thing.” Willow said, chiming in.



“Okay…so let G-man talk.” Faith said, trying to calm her counterparts down. “So…what are we up against?” She asked, looking to the Watcher for guidance for a change.



“I believe that we have more than one entity that has taken an interest in our lovely couple over there.” He said, looking towards Willow and Tara.



“Great…just great.” Buffy said, a feeling of dread loading itself onto her already heavily burdened shoulders.





Meanwhile…within the hidden walls of the Coven of Loch Carron…





An elderly woman, slight of build, sat within a circle of sea salt and beeswax candles. Her eyes closed, her lips moving silently as if mouthing the words of some ancient chant to those yet unseen.



“Arise from the depths, descend from on high…the hour now draws near, the moment is nigh…”



With these words, slowly a glowing blue orb of light begins to materialize in front of the woman’s face. Only then does she open her eyes to reveal iris the same piercing blue color as the orb.



Peering into its depths, she continues her incantation…



“Blazing sapphire, as you dance,

Give me now the Secret glance.

Call upon my Second sight;

Make me psychic with your light.

Blazing fire Shining bright, give me now the Second sight.

As they see…so let me peer…their eyes mine…as mine are their’s.”



As she stared into the orb, her eyes and the ball of light became one, however not visibly entwined. Slowly a vision became apparent to the woman as she watched intently the events unfold before her…the Slayers, the Witch, the Watcher, and the Sorceress…



The woman kept her stare, never wavering until the vision was complete. She then slowly closed her eyes once more in a moment of silent reverence as the glowing blue orb dissipated.



“It is done.” She said, before rising to her feet and leaving the casting circle. She opened the door leading away from the chamber. Outside stood four darkly cloaked women.



“Prepare the temple of light. We must cast the spell immediately, before it is too late!” Said the elder woman.



The women gathered up several items and headed up a steeply winding stairway. Step by step, they made their way to the highest point in within the ancient structure. Finally arriving at the top of an open tower. Quickly they set up torches to the North, South, East, and West, as the elder woman formed another casting circle of the sea salt. She entered the circle, sitting in a lotus position within the center. Reaching into the pocket of her cloak, she retrieved four stones…a piece of laboradorite, bloodstone, an emerald, and a sapphire. She laid them out in front of her as she began to speak…



“One for the Champion, her tresses of gold, another once dark – her heart now holds. The Witch and the Sorceress together combine…the blood of all four – a champion for all time.



Two wicked eyes have overshadowed thee…

But three other eyes overshadow them.

The Maiden, Mother, and the Crone

They watch thy flesh, thy blood, thy bone.



So it is said, so mote it be…protect them now - Blessed Be!”

Just popped in for a bit. Read your update. A new twist in the plot? Someone else? Something else perhaps? Hmmmm.



The One for the Champion, her tresses of gold, another one dark – her heart now holds. The Witch and the Sorceress together combine…the blood of all four – a champion for all time.



Tara the Witch and Willow the Sorceress, the Slayers of gold and dark. An old crone of an ancient coven to bind their blood to the Watcher and create a champion of all time...to what end? Is some dire and evil peril on its way?

CHAPTER NINETY-FIVE





“So...care to let us in on just exactly what it is we’re dealing with here?” Faith asked, looking to the Watcher for answers.



Giles hesitated, a pensive look spreading across his face, as if he was holding something back. His behavior did not go un-noticed.



“Um...yes...well, just sufficed to say, we just need to stay alert and be prepared.” He said, being cryptically general.



“Just be prepared?!?! That’s all you’re going to tell us? Be prepared?!?! Geezus! I could get more information from a box of Cracker Jacks, Giles!” Buffy said, obviously growing more frantic and irritated by the moment.



Faith stepped in once again, trying to calm her counterpart’s temper.



“Calm down, B...getting upset isn’t going to help the situation any.” Faith said.



“Thank you, Faith...” Giles began, only to be interrupted by the once-dark Slayer.



“You may want to hold off on those thank-yous, G-man. I just held her back because we need to be calm about this...now what in the hell is going on here?”



Giles became increasingly uncomfortable, obviously fidgeting when confronted by Faith.



“I’m not able to tell exactly just yet...the important thing right now is to stay alert and get to the Coven as soon as possible. The sooner, the better, in fact.” Giles said, mysteriously.





Meanwhile...back at the Coven...





The cloaked women stood around their elder, electricity and the smell of fresh ozone still hanging in the air from the spell just cast.



“Sister...do you think that we acted in time?” asked one of the women.



“Only time will tell. We have done what we can do. The rest is up to them, I’m afraid.” Said the elder-woman.



“Can they win, Sister?” asked another woman.



The old woman bowed her head. “With great power comes great responsibility. With responsibility, great sacrifice...our comrades are no exception to this.” She said, a hint of sadness in her voice. “Now come, let us prepare for the Chosen Ones’ arrival.”

CHAPTER NINETY-SIX



Needless to say, the rest of the flight was thick with tension. No one spoke as much as a word. Giles had his nose buried deeply within the pages of the old leather-clad book. Xander passed the time destroying cyber-vamps on his Gameboy, while Anya slept peacefully beside him. Buffy stood at one end of the aisle-way while Faith was at the other. Both stood in silence, exchanging glances periodically back and forth...Buffy’s eyes filled with worry and fear that she would not be able to save them; Faith’s filled with strength and reassurance that she would be there with her every step of the way - that they would meet this challenge together.



Willow and Tara sat quietly, their hands entwined. There was no need for words, the touch alone spoke volumes of their love and devotion to one another.



“Ladies and gentlemen, we are beginning our descent into Glasgow. Please return your seats and trays to an upright position and fasten your seatbelts.” A voice said over the announcement system.



“Looks like we’re just about there...okay, here’s the plan. I’m going to clear the exit first, make sure everything is ‘big-bad-free’, then Faith - you bring Wills and Tara through.” Buffy said, taking control of the situation.



“That’s right, don’t worry about little old us...we can take care of whatever dark, ugly, razor-clawed creeps come our way!” Anya said, offended that they had been left out of the ‘Slayer-protection Plan’.



“Hate to bust your bubble there, ‘Demon-girl’, but you and the Xan-man aren’t exactly the priority right now. They aren’t after you guys. Besides, you’ve got the Watcher with you.” Faith said, matter-of-factly.



“Oh gee! We get Giles! Thanks - I feel so much safer now!” Anya said, growing more annoyed by the second.



“Excuse me! Right here!” Giles said, pointing out the fact that they were talking about all of this right in front of him.



“An...honey, look...you’ll have your very buff, extremely savvy boyfriend right by your side. What more could a vengeance demon want?” Xander said, flexing his muscles and striking a pose.



“Give me a break! I’ve felt safer in a den full of one-eyed Snozwangers than I do with you two!” Anya said, plopping back down into her seat, crossing her arms, pouting.



“You get what you’ve got - so you’re just going to have to make do right now. Wills and Tara are the priority. Now...is everybody clear on that?” Buffy asked, sternly.



“Crystal.” Anya said, begrudgingly.



“Good. Wills, Tara...a protection spell could definitely help all of us out.” Buffy said, looking to the pair.



“Not a problem.” Willow answered, smiling - glad to be helpful in some way.



“We’re on it.” Tara said, squeezing Willow’s hand protectively.



“It is important that you don’t start the incantation until we disembark. I don’t want them to be able to target us from the residual magicks while we’re still confined to the aircraft.” Giles added.



“Good point.” Said Faith, backing the Watcher’s idea.



Their discussion was interrupted by the sound of the landing gear coming down as the plane began it’s approach.



“Okay guys, this is it. Let’s do it.” Buffy said, taking her seat.



Tara pulled she and Willow’s entwined hands to her lips, placing a gentle kiss on her wife’s porcelain skin.



“I love you.” She said, peering deeply into her emerald eyes.



“I love you, too...Always.” Willow replied.



“...Always.” Tara said, just as the landing gear made contact with the tarmac.

CHAPTER NINETY-SEVEN



The wheels of the landing gear hit the tarmac with a thud, the engines whining as the pilot reversed gears to slow the plane for their approach to the terminal. It seemed as though everyone in the group held their breath, waiting for the plane to come to a halt.



Willow grasped Tara’s hand tightly as the plane came to a stop at the docking bay of the terminal.



“Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Glasgow. The current temperature is two degrees centigrade with overcast skies. Thank you for flying with us today. We hope that you enjoy your stay here in the highlands!” said the pilot over the announcement system.



Buffy unbuckled her seat belt, as did Faith, and began putting their disembarkment plan into motion.



“Should we start now, Mr. Giles?” Tara asked.



“Yes, Tara...go ahead.” said the Watcher, concern growing in his voice as Willow and Tara started the incantation for the protection spell.



The two grasped each other’s hand tightly, their lips moving in unison as they made their way to the door of the plane.



Things went as planned with the two Slayers guarding Willow and Tara. In fact, it seemed to go almost too well...



Faith stood steadfast, her eyes constantly scanning the area for any possible danger.



“Well...as usual, everybody mad a big deal over nothing!” Anya said, sarcastically.



Buffy shot an angry glance her way.



“You have to admit it, Buff...it does kind of look like everybody kind of over-reacted.” Xander said. “....I mean...look around. No big-bads anywhere in sight!”



“Just because we don’t see anything, does not mean that there is nothing here.” Giles said, cautiously. “Come on now...let’s find our ride. The sisters are going to be waiting.”



The group moved forward, heading toward the baggage claim area - unaware that they were being followed. Four figures lurked silently in the shadows, swiftly moving forward as the group walked through the terminal.



Willow and Tara’s lips never stopped moving as they continued the incantation, keeping the protection spell active around them.



Buffy stopped suddenly in her tracks, assuming a defensive position as the hackles rose on her back - alerting her that they were not alone...



Faith ran to her side, just as the four figures stepped from the shadows.



“Stop right where you are! Don’t come any closer!” Buffy warned, ready to spring forward and deliver lethal blows at any moment.



A fifth woman stepped forward as if materializing from thin air. It was the elder woman from the Coven.



“Stand down, child. We mean you no harm.” She said, smiling softly.



“Yeah...right! And who are you calling ‘child’?!” Buffy said, preparing to strike.



Giles rushed forward, holding his young charge back.



“Buffy, no!” He said, forcefully. “This is Mirahannon, the elder from the Coven.”



“Goddess’ sake, Watcher! No one has called me that for ages!” She said, chidingly. “Please...you all can call me Mira.”



Tara marveled at the woman’s appearance. Even in her aged state, Mira was still absolutely beautiful, with long gray locks and ice-blue eyes. A pale blue aura seemed to emanate from her very core.



Mira felt that she was being watched, and turned her attention to Tara. The elder walked toward Willow and Tara...



Feeling a sudden surge of panic over Willow’s safety, Tara raised her free hand, still reciting the incantation with Willow. A bright white glow formed around Tara’s hand as she felt the need to protect her wife.



“Tara, no!” Giles yelled as Tara’s eyes began to glow as bright as the blue of a flame...
