Once more With Feeling on the Big Screen

Postby WiccansIllusion » Wed Nov 29, 2006 10:50 am

Hi there, its been awhile but I wanted everyone in the midwest to know that Once More with Feeling is going to be playing at midnight at the Music Box theatre. It's a sing along, and should be tons of fun. If any kittens want to meet up for dinner before hand feel free. An old meeting spot was Moody's pub, but some of the Chicago Buffy/Angel group fans are going to dinner at Take five. A place where everything is 5 dollars or less. feel free to email me at queermusicphreak@yahoo.com for any information or look up the Music Box in Chicago IL

Cheers

I just attended the Buffy Sing Along in D.C. It was SOLD OUT! How great it was to sit in a theatre loaded with OMWF fans. They gave everyone goodie bags with props to use during the movie. We were all given poppers to set off at the end of "I'm under your spell". (I confess to more than a little enjoyment at being cued to yell "Shut up, Dawn!" at key moments). We also had bubbles, fangs, finger puppet demons and kazoos - come to a show to find out what they're for. Many people were dressed as characters and it was well worth the 5 hour drive to attend.

If you think it would be fun to sit with 300+ people and sing along with Tara and Willow and the rest of the Scoobies (as well as partake in a little Buffy trivia before the show), then I highly recommend attending one of these events as they tour the country. It's extremely reasonable. Our tickets were only $12 each.

I'm going to catch the Denver one next month. See you there!

p.s.: While hunting a cab and the theatre location prior to the show (yes, we were less than adequately prepared), my girlfriend and I randomly walked into a D.C. shop to borrow a phone book and the store clerk knew everything about the show and its location! He wanted to go, but had to work. I mean, seriously, what are the chances of that happeneing?!?

TCH! (see Barbra Streisand The Happening in Central Park for pronunciation) What she said...never any cool stuff here either...although I did attend several midnight Rocky Horror shows throughout high school and college...of course with the mega-plex nation we have become they don't even allow that anymore...although we did just get an IMAX theater last week...now OMWF there would ROCK!

Hey!

I went to the OMWF Sing-a-long in Atlanta on Saturday night. What a hoot! There were two shows (we went to the 10pm show). I don't believe that either show was sold-out, but the house was pretty full. Great gobs of fun were had by all, including mexican food, mango margaritas, and two kittens (plus girlfriends) seriously misbehaving.

I heartily recommend the show to anyone who gets the chance to go. Just try to ignore all the Spike and Angel fans.

Nov. 30th & Dec. 1st in Nashville. I'm feeling suddenly very musical.

Saw the sold out show in San Francisco last night. It was a riot! They started the show off with some Buffy trivia, Buffy-oke, where audience members came up and acted out scenes from the show, and then a handful of fan vids.

The actors were great, but by far the best part was "Under Your Spell," complete with party poppers at the end when Tara sings, "You make me complete/You make me - ." My wife was cringing from the geekiness of it (she's not quite as big a fan as I am), but when the music started I swear she was the loudest one in the audience. I highly recommend it!

At the D.C. show, several in attendance didn't (or couldn't) wait for Tara to complete her song before pulling their popper. (I'll let you insert your own off-color comment here - probably something that would make a proper British Watcher blush)

The show returns to D.C. in November! Hope to see you there

Some friends have organised a OMWF night in a couple of weeks, only about 15 of us. We're getting into character wherever possible (obviously some double-ups). Does anyone happen to know what (if any) alcohol Willow or Tara drank in the show?

Strangely enough, no one's volunteered to be Dawn yet! :D
