Willow and Tara Action Figures. Tara is in! 10/21/04

Postby WebWarlock » Thu Mar 11, 2004 7:43 am

Hey all, here is a new thread (thanks mods!) with all the new info.

First yesterday's announcement and the official press release from Mark Del Vecchio at CineQuest.com:

Quote:

CineQuest.com is thrilled to announce that it will be doing two more exclusives from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer line of action figures, being produced by Diamond Select Toys and Moore Action Collectibles.

In July, we will be offering the Hell's Bells Anya variant figure, featuring everyone's favorite vengeance demon in her wedding gown! The wedding dress Anya will be a blister carded Summer Show Special and sold at San Diego Comic-Con International.

In September, we will be offering a wonderful Willow/Tara Set, two special figures of this great couple packaged together for the first time, and featuring interlocking bases so that they can be displayed together. This set will feature a different Willow figure from the rest of the Buffy V release and a different Tara from the one being released in July. The set will also feature a heart-shaped blister package front that's a testament to a lovely couple! And the best part, mostly due to the influence of Tim Brannan (contributing author on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer roleplaying game by Eden Studios, and author of Eden's upcoming Ghosts of Albion roleplaying game), the set will be the only place a Kitty Fantastico figure will be available!!!

Preorders for the exclusives will begin soon for KittenBoard members only.

Mark Del Vecchio

CineQuest.com

www.cinequest.com

There it is.

I'll be posting more information later along with pictures (when I get them) and a link to website for orders.

So here is a brief run-down of the products I know of. These are subject to some change, but mostly they are a lock.

There are six different individual Willow Figures.

There is (will be) one (for now) individual Tara Figure.

There is the Willow and Tara, Together Forever gift pack which includes a repaint of the S5 Willow figure, a repaint of the S5 Tara figure, interlocking stands with a heart shaped background and various magical paraphernalia. This is available to anyone and everyone online.

Then there is the Kitten Board Gift Set which is the same as the W&T,TF set above except that it also includes MKF and it will exclusive to Kitten Board members only.

Sales and pre-orders of the Willow figures far out pace all the other figures. They are hoping for the same with Tara.

Also, I'll just point out that Cinequest is 100% comitted to Willow and Tara and want all W/T fans to be happy with these figures. Please check out their Willow and Tara store to find other W/T related items.

Note: Yes. There are some post-SR items there, but all you have to do is not buy those.

A huge thank you to Tim for working on this for the Kittens :bow . I've never purchased the figures before but I will buy the Willow and Tara set. Oh and does anyone else get naughty thoughts over the phrases "interlocking bases" or it is just me?

So, the day started and I knew my name and had my pants on. So far, so good. Yay.

I'd have to say my own wooo and hooo as well to a Willow/Tara kitten board deluxe package complete with MKF figure as well.

Itis indeed about bloody time that the Powers That Be woke up and smelled the cat food that sales of our fave Wiccan twosome would skyrocket leaving them to ask "What other characters?"

Bring on the release date and the Internet linkage to order.:peace :willow :tara

Hello Kittens-

While it would be close, I'd have to go with Godzilla. You just can't beat a classic like radioactive fire-breath.

Of course that's the classic Big G. The Americanized one would be flattened by our favorite redhead. Especially if he got too close to Tara or MKF. Another scenario to do with your Kitten W&T&MKF figures!

I'm just wondering how I'm going to afford getting the three pack. And explain it.

Re: Willow and Tara Action Figures. 3/10/04 Updates

Postby WebWarlock » Fri Mar 12, 2004 4:51 pm

I had to share this.

My son Liam is looking over the pictures I have of the various Willow figures.

He was asking about "that bad witch" asking why is her hair black? I said it was because the guy who made her thought that was what bad witches are supposed to be like. Liam's response: "That's not very smart. Kiki is a good witch and she has black hair."

His favorite so far, Vamp Willow.

But he wants to know who is more bad "that bad witch" or Godzilla.

Godzilla isn't bad, he just has big feet. It's not his fault if he accidently stands on people and buildings while he defends the Earth from monsters.

Just thought I'd catch everyone up on what's going on with the W/T action figures. But first, pictures!

These should be out in July, with several variants.

Alternate version of Tara (outfit/hair changes)

Possibly more...

A Willow/Tara "Together Forever" two-pack will also be coming out in August featuring redecoed versions of both figures. It will also come with Ms Kitty Fantastico!

WebWarlock, can you clarify the Willow/Tara two-pack availability?

I've been in close contact with Diamond Select Toys about this, and this is the first time I've heard of a Kitten Board exclusive gift pack. So far, Diamond has only mentioned the Willow/Tara Together Forever two-pack, and they've said that Miss Kitty Fantastico will be part of it.

Re: Willow and Tara Action Figures. 3/19/04 Updates

Postby JusticeDemon » Sat Mar 20, 2004 5:21 pm

These recently-taken pictures show that the glum/cranky expression we saw on the first picture seems to be due to lighting/photography angles. These are pictures of the same figure, and they do not share the cranky expression. Tara's still not smiling like so many of us want her to, but at least she doesn't look angry any more.

JD. Everything I know and am at liberty to say is in the first post of this thread.

But thank you for coming over here from BTVSFigs to let us know. I appreciate that.

I am equally as happy that most people on your board are as excited as we are. Gods know it has been a long time a' coming.

Ah yes, she looks even better in those pictures, especially the one to the right. Very nice, I am really pleased by that ugly dress (it's very Tara :heart ) and especially the NMR sweater. The designer(s) did a great job. I can't wait to order this.
