Amber announced for Wizard World Tour Chicago

Wizard World Tours just announced that Amber will be at the Chicago stop of the tour August 13-15 at the Rosemont Horizon a few miles from O'Hare Airport. She will be present for all three days, and will be at the area called the Inkwell. Costs for the Tour are $20 per day. This'll be great!

Kevin Smith, Michael Turner, Marc Silvestri, J. Scott Campbell, Talent Caldwell and more added to the growing line up of guests at Wizard World Chicago



Great News, Writer, Director, Pop Culture Icon Kevin Smith has accepted our invitation to come out for Wizard World Chicago. Kevin will be taking time away from directing “The Green Hornet” to come out and entertain his fans. Kevin’s past panels and signings have been a huge hit with fans, so this is sure to be one of the highlights of the weekend.



Superstar artist Marc Silvestri will be returning to his home-town Chicago and will be bringing along artist Tony Daniel. Daniel’s book “Human Kind” will be one of two Wizard World Chicago incentive books. The Wizard World Chicago version will be a sketch cover variant of the first issue of the soon to be released Top Cow series.



Aspen Comics will also be returning to Chicago with both Michael Turner and Talent Caldwell making the trip. Always a big hit on the Wizard World Tour, Aspen will have plenty of signings, panels and exclusives for their fans.



Even more huge news is the addition of another superstar artist: J. Scott Campbell has also agreed to be a part of the Chicago stop on the Wizard World Tour. You better be there, as he’ll be announcing the details of his next project.



New additions to our list of Mass Media guests include The Incredible Hulk Lou Ferrigno and Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Amber Benson who portrayed Tara. You can meet Lou in the Autograph Area and Amber will be appearing in the Inkworks booth all weekend.



Movie and Television Stars, Top Notch Comic Creators and much, much more at this year’s Wizard World Chicago. And more will be added soon, so stay tuned!

Anyways, if anyone coming in from out of town needs a local contact let me know. Rosemont is roughly a 20 dollar cab ride if your in the city since a lot of cabs have flat airport rates.

Are the Kittens staying at a specific hotel? My girl and I will be going and spending the night (but plan on attending the convention on Saturday only, heading to the Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium on Sunday) and we're wondering where everyone is staying. We'd love to hang out with fellow Kittens and thought it would be nice if we could stay in the same place, if not the same general area.

Okay.. here is a report.. and a few ‘newly edited’ pictures..



I went to Chicago Fri. and finally met Amber!! She is gorgeous, sweet, warmhearted, gracious and well.. Amber is a Goddess and she clearly gets it from her lovely mom.



She signed a bunch of my Willow/Tara comics and a few photos (one taken by Danielle) for which I am very very thankful. So after over 4 years of waiting, I met, and got a nice hug, from Amber!! She really is an exceptionally lovely person.



I didn’t ask her any questions so I guess that’s about it. Umm.. I edited this because the ‘report’ was silly and unnecessary so I apologize for the previous nonsense. The last few days have been pretty hectic and now I miss my mom more than ever. Anyway.. here are a few pictures…

Okay, I'm about ready to burst and just have to share this!



BTW, loved the pics!



Just got back, had the most exciting day of my life, seeing her, talking to her, touching her. (She was very warm) I was so excited that I forgot to say all the things I wanted to tell her or ask her. I asked her how her foot was and she said it is slowly but surely coming along.



I had my son with me and she made a point of talking to him, which really made me feel good, and him too. I told her that he thought I was nuts because I was so addicted to BtVS and her, and she told him that he had a "really cool mom" and that he should be happy to have one like me, because she was lucky to have a cool mom herself. Then I told her we had driven 6 hours that morning to see her, and she said "I think you're right, she is nuts!" and laughed.



She is absolutely wonderful and just as nice and warm to everyone as I have ever read or heard about her. She doesn't rush you and takes her time with each and every person. I got the Restless photo autographed, which is totally droolworthy!



I just wish I could turn back the clock and do it again and remember to tell her everything I forgot to the first time. I think I was mostly trying to remember how to breathe and willing myself not to faint.



I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Hey Wimpy, she told me I was crazy also for driving from Memphis just to meet her . The first thing she said to me was "Oh my God, your shirt is so freaking cute", so I had to give it to her the next day, which got me a hug (it was a blue sesame street shirt). I could probably go on forever about meeting her, but I haven't been to sleep since 7 a.m yesterday. I just wanted to post my pics from this weekend of Amber and some kittens at the convention. Some of them are kinda fuzzy from having to resize them, but there are two REALLY nice ones that came out good .
