Favourite W/T scene to re-live?

Postby InsectReflection » Sun May 16, 2004 3:12 pm

"Family" just came on tonight. The show's been off the air for a while now, and I don't really catch the reruns that often. Still got my favourite episodes on tape that I get out now & then, but not as often as I used to.

Anyway, I loved sitting through the whole episode again, watching Tara get accepted by the group, the birthday party, and the floating scene at the end. That was the first scene where I really started to fall in love with these characters, where I pretty well started watching the show just to see what was going on with Willow & Tara. Watching it again after some time now was ... I don't know how to say it. Emotional in a very good way. Bittersweet, maybe, because you can only see and be moved by it for the first time once.

So what scene still does it for you? Which scene makes you stop what you're doing when you realize, "oh, here's that part I used to like!" Would you watch the whole episode again just to see it?

*************

I don't know if this is the right forum for this kind of thing. Still kinda new at this. It's really late and really dark here, and I just wanted to touch base with a sympathetic crowd.

For me it is still the Flaming O, that is the one that really turned me into a WT shipper. I never recovered.

I'd have to go with in The Body, when Willow mouths, 'I love you' to Tara...(of course the kiss, as well)... but that part gives me butterflies and a heaping plate of 'awww'.

The end of Tough Love where Willow vows to take care of Tara anyway. I love the smile Tara gives Willow when Willow kisses her on the forehead. Sigh!

Hmmmm...

You know, I love the scene in, The Gift too. "I'll always find you." :love

This is one of a million favorite moments.

The almost kiss scene in Tabula Rasa. I always love the way they are still drawn to each other like magnets with no memories.

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.

Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

I almost start crying everytime. Just to see how much Tara cares about Willow, I fall in love with them all over again.

In "Who Are You"

The way Tara turns and looks at Willow when she says:

"I am you know"

"What"

slight pause,

"Yours".

There is so much unspoken wanting, desire, and desperate passion in that moment that passes from Tara's cerulean eyes to Willow's emerald eyes.

Second place has to be in "The Yoko Factor" where Willow is trying to decrypt that bogus disk Spike gave her and Tara is standing behind her, absently stroking Willow's hair with her fingers.

The look on Tara's face is one of such contentment and love for Willow.:peace :love :willow :tara

Definately the scene in "Older and far away" I think that's what its called- lol I have been revising for an exam all day ok give me a break lol :)

where Tara and Willow meet and Willow is standing on the stairs and Tara's desire in her face when she is trying to talk to Willow. But also most definately the kissing and comfort scene in the Body because Tara is trying to be strong for Willow and Tara knows how much Willow is hurting so she comforts her with a kiss and sometimes that's what people need also the end scene of family when they are dancing :)

Tara rocks!:applause

I love that bit in family when Tara tells her dad to "just go" after all the times he has been mean to her she is standing up for herself and I can really relate to the whole thing.

I love Tara's character soooooo much she is trully the sweetest thing I have so many fave moments! :heart :heart :heart

Caz x x x :)

Well, I DID post in a W/T forum ... Don't get me wrong - I'm a big fan of almost all the characters. Big, big Giles fan. But there was a unique warmth in the W/T relationship that (for me, at least) transcended an already great show. Even after two years of no Tara, I'm still moved by some of those little scenes when I see them. I wanted to share one in particular that I hadn't seen/felt in a while, and I wanted to hear which scenes continued to move others.

This is a great thread, thanks for posting it. :) It is nice to contemplate all the great WT scenes over and over again. :heart It´s also interesting to read why other people choose their particular WT scene. It is hard to choose a favourite, yet the Flaming O started it all for me, so that will remain my number one, but I can certainly understand all the other choices I´ve read so far.

The Doll's eye crystal scene...for the body language.

I mean, Tara shyly hiding with an expression like "You're too much for me, but would you give it a try anyway?"

And Willow leaning towards Tara (when she seems to be running away from her) as to grab her and let her stay, she seems to say "Yay, I really do like you, I'm not rejecting you. I would really like to be with you."

That's sweet, I like every scene in which body language is the main feature, the thing that keeps the scene alive. Sometimes I just go "awww" even if they just give each other a little touch or if they look into each other's eyes and understand without speaking. :blush

Gotta mention all the Willow, Tara and W/T scenes in "Bargaining 1/2", especially--

Willow's delight at seeing the "guiding light" Tara sends to lead her and Xander back to town and, of course,

"Nobody messes with my girl!":)

Also can't forget all the "Snarky Tara" scenes in "Long Ago and Far Away"--this was the only chance we had in the entire series to see this side of Tara, and AB did it soooooo well.:)

"Still got that cramp, Spike? Maybe you should put some ice on it";)

Superstar

Postby Idgie » Tue May 18, 2004 12:28 pm

I liked the scene in Superstar (I think it's Superstar) where Willow, Tara and Buffy are walking home, and Tara splits off to go to her dorm and she and Willow have a little hand squeeze and eye contact, while Buffy is totally clueless. I love all of the little body language signals between them before New Moon Rising (and after) that show how significant their relationship is, even if the dialogue doesn't say it.

When their hands meet in Hush and Tara nods her head. Why that scene? Because it was the start of everything else.

Since it hasn't been mentioned I really like the scenes in Where the Wild Things Are at the party. The whole portion with Willow telling a distracted Buffy about the peasent top and Tara covering for her, the way they looked at each other, and then the whole scene on the stairs where Willow is acting so unusually flirtatious and Tara seems very happy and the connection is very clear.

In turth just about any of the W/T non-fight scenes were great, hence the greatness of the pair period. However, my favorite is still the 'I am you know, yours,' from Who Are You. Tara pretty much laid everything out on the line, gave herself to Willow with no demand or expectation for anything in return, and yet you could tell Willow was responding. That for me is the best parts that I'll always take notice of. And it will always piss me off that Josswad felt he needed to destroy that.

New Moon Rising

Postby wimpy0729 » Fri May 21, 2004 8:31 pm

Oh, this is fun!

I gotta say I agree with everybody's scenes just because they are all sooo wonderful, hard to pick just one or two.

But, a couple that I still get goosebumps everytime --

In New Moon Rising, when Willow comes back to Tara's room to tell her that it wasn't what it looked like with Oz, they were just talking, and the way Tara said one word that just gets me every time, the emotion in that one word -- "Really?" Man, Amber was just amazing!

Another one for me was in Family, after Spike hits Tara to prove she's not a demon. The way Tara looks at Willow and Willow looks back at her and she says, "I'm not a demon". "You're not a demon." Oh man, there should have been some serious kissage in that scene, but we had to settle for their wonderful acting skills to feel the moment. :bow :bow

New Moon Rising

Postby Dana5140 » Tue Jun 01, 2004 11:21 am

Well, folks, while I love every W/T scene, what I come back to time and time again is every scene in New Moon Rising:

-The opening scene, with the two of them obviously in love, and planning for the future as new lovers might. Tara's little jump when Willow tells her she is in, Tara shyly telling Willow that she wants her room to be Willow friendly, them holding hands.

- The look of shock on Willow's face when Oz appears. How quickly Tara understands, and her face falls and her eyes look down and she draws in on herself. How Willow does not hear Buffy ask her how she is. How Tara manages to excuse herself, at extreme cost. Her stuttering and her obvious dismay and patent unhappiness. Willow not knowing what to do. How Xander looks back at Willow after Tara leaves- he knows, even if he is not ready to admit it to himself.

- The magical scene in Tara's room. Tara opens the door, sees Willow and looks at least a little hopeful. How she awkwardly invites Willow in. How Willow tells Tara that othing happened, how that brings a faint smile briefly to Tara's face. How Willow begins to tell Tara about how good things are since meeting her, but does not finish, depriving Tara of that little bit of hope and confirmation. Tara's braveness in telling Willow she will still be friends. The look of utter desolation on Tara's face when she hugs Willow and strokes her hair.

-The even more magical scene at the end. This time Tara does not invite Willow in, and you can see she fears the absolute worst. Her eyes are cast down, she is so hurt, in such pain. When Willow tells her she is with the one she loves, it takes a beat for it to register. Tara begins to understand, blinks, blinks twice and her face just begins to light up. "Oh, yes." The candle is blown out.

I love Willow's scene with Buffy, too. The "It's complicated" speech, how Willow steels herself to tell Buffy. What it cost her to do so.

The perfect episode. None ever done better.

My hidden secret scene is in OMWF, the "mmrfrrmrmr texts, you know, the texts?" :-)

Oh god, there's so many! The hands scene in Hush, Flaming O and the "I am you know" scene in WAY, the dance at the end of Family the bed scene in SR... i could go on forever. But i think it'd be a tie between the kiss in Entropy, the 'almost kiss' in Tabula Rasa (goosebumps every singel time... and i still sit there hoping the ending will change and they'll kiss;) ) and the end of New Moon Rising. I simply can't choose between them....

Nikki - I want to make love you to all night long... is that serious enough?

I dunno, there's just so many to choose from...............erm................er............i'd probably have to say the hand holding scene in 'Hush', how intense was that! Oh, and the dance on Tara's birthday in 'Family', she was so proud of her Tara, bless. The 'almost kiss' in 'Tabula Rasa' is way up there on the list too, and i also wish for a different ending everytime i watch it even though i know, not a chance. I really like the 'willow-hand' scene as well when Tara is reading the tarot cards, and there's the kiss (mmmmmmm) in 'Entropy', Oh and.................................

There are so many great moments. My favorites have already been mentioned but I love the scenes from "Checkpoint" when Willow and Tara are being grilled by Nigel from the Watcher's Counsel. They are so nervous they end up coming out to him. It's so sweet and funny. Tara offering to rub Willow's tummy then stopping her explaination as to what Willow likes during the Christmas dinner in the "Body." Also the story Tara tells to Willow in the beginning of "Family" about Miss Kitty and the dolphins at the pound.

All of my favorite scenes have already been said, the Entrophy kiss, Seeing Red's many scenes (before the very bad thing at the end), New Moon Rising....But I just thought that I'd really say why I, personally, love the almost-kiss of Tabula Rosa.

Maybe the reason why I love the almost-kiss from Tabula Rosa is that it's the closest thing that we, as Willow and Tara fans, will ever get to their first kiss. We never got to see their true first kiss because of media politics, and how horrible they really are. So to be able to see their faces, so unsure yet extremely positive of what they want, the nervousness floating across their faces yet that power that pulls them together...it's all so overwhelming.

Now that's my favorite scene.
