The one scene that shocked me was in "Older and Far Away" when Anya was telling Willow that she should try and use magic to get them out of the house and Tara defended her. "Hey! You're gonna back off! She said no, and that's it. You're not gonna make her do something that she doesn't want to. And if you try...you're gonna have to go through me first. Understood?" Tara was always shy and her standing up for Willow had pleasently surprised.

And I totally agree with Grace about the part when Willow and Giles got into the fight and Willow told him to not piss her off. My jaw droped to the floor. I was so socked and I had to watch the tape over again to actually believe it!

this is such a fun thread i had to delurk. ;)

The scene that always makes my jaw drop, no matter how many times i hear the line...."So Willow's not driving stick anymore." Classic.

The best for me (and my roommate) was the kiss in the body. It was such a surprise my roommate stopped in midstep and turned to me with mirth in her eyes... "did they just kiss?" I could only smile and nod.

peace and blessings.

Tara/Willow scene in Older and Far Away

Yeah, that was pretty amazing. And notice, pretty much what Buffy said to Tara's father in "Family". (Gotta love Buffy at her best. Wish she were like that these days.)

The nice thing about Tara is that she's easily the character on Buffy that can surprise you the most. She started out so shy and hesitant, but she'got more independent and assertive as time went by. I think "The Body" really marked Tara's Independence Day, as a full-blown 3D character, not bound and defined by her relationship with Willow. Then there were the comments by Glory regarding Tara's mind in "Tough Love", and Tara's "first axing" in Bargaining, and then finally Tara standing up to Willow in "All the Way" and "Tabula Rasa." As much as the Tara/Willow split has been painful to watch, it's good to know that the people at ME are willing to portray Tara as a strong, capable person, who won't let her lover walk all over her.

OMWF

Postby murph the smurf » Sun Apr 07, 2002 12:46 pm

It's already been said by a bunch of people but for me it has to be the bedroom scene in OMWF. My sister had already seen the ep and I was watching the recording on my own. When Tara gave Willow that look downwards and then Willow made her journey South I just couldn't believe it. The next day I saw my sister when she got home from school and I was like 'did you see that?!' My cousin, not being the sharpest crayon in the box and not really getting the whole women loving women thing, had totally missed what was going on. I did say she wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box. When we explained it to her her eyes were popping out of her head.

If we ever needed proof that the move to UPN was the best thing that could've happened for the Kittens there it was. Also it was great to see that Sky kept the whole scene in its full glory with no creative editing so that us British Kittens didn't miss out.

Willow: Was there a camel?
Tara: There was the front of a camel - a half camel.

I love the retrospectives here; all lovely and illuminating.

However, I believe that my favorite Willow/Tara moment is yet to come.

The Body kiss took me too totally by surprise. I wasn't hanging in the online Buffy fandom at the time - so yes their was a time when I was a wee little Buffy Spoiler Virgin. I'd pretty much given up on getting to see Willow and Tara kiss since they'd been together so long and all we'd got was hand holding, caresses and metaphor sex. When there was no kiss in NMR I just figured it wasn't gonna happen. Boy was I glad to be wrong. And amazed it had not leaked to the major media. And I thought it was brilliant the way Joss got it in as an expression of comfort and love so the censors could not possibly go wiggy on his ass. Of course I just did not know at the time that they still did. But he won. And so did we.

OMWF, all the w/t goodies and baddies. I couldn't believe willow would mess with tara's mind like that. Also the sex scene. It was funny in a "ooh, I know what they're up to" way, and "thank god they left the WB" way. Also pretty sexy. Yea, I'm babbling.

Hi there, love this thread!!

All of my favourite moments have been mentioned already, but I just wanted to add that simply the way they look at each other is just so convincing. I mean, they do seem to literally drown in each others eyes, so much so that, especially in WAY, the whole 'I am you know,' scene; I watched it several times just looking straight at AB and AH's eyes and lost myself. That breathless moment after Tara says 'I do' and Aly pauses was just, WOW!!!

Eyes are the mirrors to the soul, and A/A truly capture their characters feelings simply by looking at each other. Hell, even their pupils dilate when they lock eyes!! Great acting, just great!!!!

And well, TaraBedroomEyes...mmmmmmm. That look in OMWF; I literally fell off of my sofa cause all the blood in my body had just headed south for the winter, y'know?!!! :D

Had to be the dorm scene in "The I In Team", where after a sex filled night, Buffy comes home only to find BOTH beds unslept in. And then Willow quietly slips in with Tara's crystal in her hands!!

OMG! It looked like Willow went to Tara's for a late night booty call ;)

my fave w/t scene, and i didn't see it written anywhere, was at the beginging of the body when everyone is sitting round the table for thanksgiving i think you guys call it (sorry i get confused between that and Christmas) and xander asks willow if shes in the vomit club too and the follow exchange takes place:

Willow - i had to much nog

Tara - oh baby do you want me to rub your tummy, she likes it when i...(off willows embarrassed face).. stop explaining thing.

I don't know why but i just wasn't expecting it. Also the one where in NMR when willow goes to taras room and tells her that noting happened between here and oz, the way Tara said do what makes you h h happy (aahh)

and was it just me or were we made to think that they had sex after that scene cos the next thing we see is Tara in willows top that she was wearing before, even oz noticed.

One of my favorite moments is when Willow turns up at Tara's with the extra flamey candle. It's not so much the scene itself, but more the moment when Willow says, "I mean. Okay?" and Tara replies, "Oh yes." The look on her face was so perfect, a mixture of gratitude, love and realization all at once. Quite got my heart thumping, did that.

I'm one for the classics.

Back when I was relatively unspoilt, and even still waiting for episodes to air on Australian tv, the "I am you know ... yours" took me completely by surprise. I was expecting something to develope, but not like that! A great moment, if ever there was one.

well I dont know about sex, alot of ppl claim the first time that happend was after the blowing out of the flaming candle (though, if the flaming O was symbolic of another big O and all, then I guess they had a bit of hanky panky before that)

anyway, in adition to noticing that she was wearing her top, he said she smelt of Willow, "it's all over you" I think he said. So at least some hugging and smoochies perhaps? Would have to wait for the HUGE book of Joss called "The explanation for everything in all my episodes, volume 241"

I asume he'd be on volume 241 or so before getting to that ep anyway (and I'd buy every single one of them to, even if it drove me to bankrupcy)

This has already been mentioned, but it's the same for me. When Willow casts the spell on Tara in 'All The Way'. I couldn't believe Willow could do that to anyone....especially Tara.

I just hate it when Willow and Tara fight....it gives me belly rumblin's. ;)

The single most unexpected W/T moment ...

Postby TakeYaBrasov » Sat May 18, 2002 10:43 pm

I'm in agreement with everyone here as to the spell Willow put on Tara .. "lets go back where it was easier spell." Was shocked, stunned and somewhat amazed. After a few minutes of yelling at the television I was silenced by a good whack on the head from a mate who was with me.

As for a good unexpected moment - not so much unexpected as pleasantly surprised when Willow mouthed 'I Love You' to Tara as Xander and Anya were talking in The Body. Beautiful, not forced and plain 'ol natural.

I have lots of little moments, and I'm so glad this thread was bumped up because I never saw it before...

For me, it started with "Hush"...When Tara looked at Willow, the look in her eyes. I remember gasping and yelling OMG because I knew where it was going.

Most others have been mentioned...

"Willow's not driving stick anymore"...I loved that and thought "At least it's not just *me* seeing that!"

Flaming "O"...mmmm...yeah:)

Not a happy moment, but it shocked me to death when Cousin Beth called Tara a selfish bitch. Since that's the absolute LAST thing Tara would ever be.

The end of "Tough Love" when Willow said something about possibly having to restrain Tara at night. My heart absolutely broke for both of them.

I was slightly spoiled for OMWF and read something about the episode featuring lesbian sex.:) When it got to that part, I was cheering the tv and probably really pissed off my neighbor.

The hallway scene in "Seeing Red" when Tara walks down the hall in the sheet. *LOVED THAT*

*sigh* Happy W/T memories...I think I need to go rewatch some of them now. :)

I think my first shock came with Hush. I knew something was going to happen with Tara's character as soon as they showed her at the wiccan meeting, but i never expected...when they held hands and did that spell, i knew, i just knew and I was amazed. I remember after that ep was the first time I ever went to any kind of Buffy messageboard and I was like "Do you think there is something between Willow and that girl Tara?" and everyone was like "Nawww" but I was like "Mark my words, it's gonna happen".

I wasn't spoiled for NMR but I never had any doubts Willow would choose Tara.

The kiss in the beginning of Bargaining. It was such a pleasant suprise.

In All the Way when Willow told Tara to keep her mouth shut. I'm pretty sure I was spoiled for this too, but it was really shocking to see.

The kiss at the end of Entropy. I knew it was going to happen, but i had completely forgotten because i was so pre-occupied with the "Tara gets shot" spoilers. When it happened I was like "what? OH. MY. GOD!!!".

What are you going to do, B? Kill me- you become me. you're not ready for that...

me too!!!

Postby SadandRatty » Wed May 22, 2002 9:21 am

I am fairly new to the show and new around here but my absolutely favorite shock was Tara coming back with the whole "It's a long important process and can we just skip it?" I was not at all ready for it and I was so happy. SO HAPPY.

By the way, can someone tell me what the episode was with the flaming O spell?

Mine would be the Entropy kiss. Wow. Someone, in another topic, used the word famished to describe that kiss. Even famished seems like an understatement. A couple of people have mentioned NMR. That had some great moments, too. But everytime I watch that episode I find myself wondering how Tara wound up in Willow's sweater ;) ?

Favorite Tara moments

Postby Ben Varkentine » Fri May 24, 2002 1:57 am

For Willow and Tara, it's the dance at the end of "Family." For Tara away from Willow, it's her talk with Buffy when she learns about her and Spike...plus the way she teases Spike with her knowledge at Buffy's birthday party.

BTW this is my first post here, and I'm very happy to have found this board. :)
