I've started the first draft of my next book (#4), which is about some teenagers who work at a Renaissance Faire. That means I've been looking up stuff about RenFaires and all the things people do there, including the "RenFaire speak" that all the performers are taught. At the moment, I'm still having trouble telling my forsooths from my gramercys, but I'll get the hang of it as the book develops. I'm hoping to have the book ready for test reading in November.
And in case anyone's wondering about my cat Eugenie, she's still holding her own here at home. The prognosis, however, is not good. I got the latest test results from my vet today - the two key kidney enzyme values were almost triple what they should be, and a weekend's worth of hydration at the animal hospital barely made a dent in them. Nevertheless, she's comfortable now and is eating again, so maybe we can stave off the inevitable for a little while. I'm taking it day by day.
Back to RenFaires - what do you think Willow and Tara would do at one? We already know Tara has the right outfit to go.
Have a good day, everybody!
