So many great moments in this episode. It feels like they've been saving them up for such a long time and now I've seen it, I'm realizing where all the love went.
The scene at school in the corridor is just adorable. I love the way that they're all giggly with one another, and Tara wants Willow so much, yet she's got that teasing look on her face. That spoke volumes to me about why their relationship works so well; they're still able to see the fun in being with one another. Magic? Bah, who needs magic when you've got the love that they so obviously have for one another? I loved how when they were giggling, Tara was reaching up to play with her hair, all embarrassed and cute. Honestly, they were glowing. They really were.
The coffee shop scene was great. Again, more laughter and exception performances from both girls. Amber though; man, she's great. She has this little laugh in her voice and the way she looks at Willow is just adorable. And yes, Willow's gay, by the way. Just in case some people were still in denial. Heh.
I loved Anya in this scene; I mean, I love Anya generally, but she really rocked in this episode. She went from funny to angry to pleading...all the way through the emotions. And Willow's expression when she said about them "hating men" was just priceless.
But you know, that scene at the end...god, it really worked so well. It's odd, knowing what the dialogue was so long beforehand and then seeing it played out. It was such a contrast with the whole notion of "friends" that both girls were hiding behind. I loved the conflict on Tara's face as she was leaning against the doorframe to Willow's room (tres hot, if I may say so). And that whole confusion about what she knows she [b:869f7b584a] should[/b:869f7b584a] do and what she [b:869f7b584a] wants[/b:869f7b584a] to do...Amber never ceases to amaze me with these subtle performances she pulls out when she needs to. I was grinning insanely along with Willow as she leapt up off the bed, believe me. And God...that kiss...wow. I mean...wow. Perfect. Perfect stuff.
Hate Xander. Bleh. Boring stuff. The worst thing was, I actually liked Dawn in this episode, mainly because she tended to speak words that humans can hear, instead of her sonic screech. Bless.
And Emma...back to Emma. She was great. The whole gamut of emotions. I loved her conversation with Xander and the one with Spike. She seemed so confused by everything, as though being a human was finally taking its toll. The thing I admired the most was that Emma showed it so clearly without running into blatant cliche. And that's her talent.
Oh yeah. Did I mention that the kissing was hot? Heh. It was. It [b:869f7b584a] so[/b:869f7b584a] was...
