UK DVD Release Dates

I could not find a UK DVD thread so I started this. Hope that is ok.

Anyway, Amazon.co.uk is taking orders for the S4 DVD set. Release date is 13 May, 2002. Despite the hefty price tag (70.99 pounds), overseas orders at least get VAT back.

i am green with envy that soon UK kitties will get to see "hush", the flaming o spell and "new moon rising" in full, digitally remastered glory.

plus, i'm sure joss will do commentary on "hush", which means... he'll talk about amber/tara!

This might be of interest to Dutch fans: there’s an english bookshop here in Amsterdam called “Waterstones” (hoek Kalverstraat/Spui) that imports all their stuff,mostly from the U.K.of course, including new DVD and video-releases, Buffy too. Practically on the same release date as in the U.K. It works for me !

Ok, Amazon.co.uk just reduced the price of the Buffy S4 DVD to 63.99 pounds (yahhh!).For overseas kitties, you get a further Vat discount so it comes down to 54.99 pounds or thereabouts. :-)

This is very exciting news! I was gutted that there were no Joss commentaries on the S3 DVD - I think his are the only ones worth listening to, honestly.

I'd also like to point out that anyone with DVD on their 'puter can view these Region 2 DVDs, even if you're not in Region 2. You can just change your settings.

Also I've heard rumours that they'll be releasing Seasons 5 and 6 a lot quicker than before, with the S6 DVD coming out at the same time as VHS. Allegedly.

I already ordered the germn s4.1 DVD´s, it´s coming out in May too, so apparently they have caught up with the UK!
The funny thing is, this will probably mean s6 will come out on DVD before they show it on TV.

It is wierd yeah, though I expect that S6 will come to air on BBC in about October again, but reports seem to indicate that Buffy S6 and Angel S3 will be (in R2 at least) issued before Xmas. Personally I take this with a grain of salt as S4 has already been pushed back on that schedule (swapped with Angel S2 which is due in March I believe.) It would seem to make more commercial sense to slow it up to eventually bring S7 into the mix without a huge gap... but I hope not.

Anyway thanks for the heads up, just ordered mine!

Edited to add that just ordered Angel S2 as well and the release date seems to have been pushed back from March 11th to April 15th - unless there is some glitch at Amazon. Oh well on the plus side only a month between them which is better continuity-wise.

Does anybody know when the first boxset of S6 is due to be released on VHS in the UK? I am presuming it is when it has finished airing on Sky? Around June? I can't find a date anywhere.

Also the S4 DVD will be released in May, is S5 then released in November/Xmas then S6 May next year?
