Ah yes here I am - middle of the night - starting the daily thread. A touch of insomnia, as my accountant told me last week that despite the fact I haven't had a job since last June I still owe $4,000 in taxes due in one month.

whoo. hoo.

So to completely distract myself (and maybe some of you in your own personal poo-poo piles), I pose this question:

If you could ask Amber anything, what would you like to know?

I'll decide which one I like best, and will ask it of her in Santa Barbara on 4/27.

Now, what *I* consider best will probably not be rude, crude, or lewd. OK, stop laughing now. I'm serious!

Yay for the income earned out of the U.S. if you're there for more than 350 days being untaxable rule! Of course, I haven't been out of the states quite that long yet (only 8 1/2 months so far), so I gotta get one of those handy-dandy extension things, by August, it will be a year! Of course, I shouldn't complain or anything, since my dad still does my taxes ...

Anyway. If I could ask Amber absolutely anything, I think it would be "would you marry me?" Okay, maybe not (well, maybe I would want to ask her that, but I wouldn't ... probably wouldn't anyway). I think I'd want to ask her what the best thing a fan has ever said to her, or done for her. Of course, that's probably been answered already in some interview or another that I didn't read well enough. Doesn't matter!

Your question... what would I ask Amber? hm... I think I'd ask her this: What's the most important lesson about life that you're trying to get out to your fans?

I know, not funny or anything, but that's really what I am wondering. I mean, we know she wants people (young women out there!)to not starve themselves... she also told in A&U that she hasn't had sex yet, that people have to be carefull for aids. Also, she tells people who want to become 'famous actors' in hollywood to only do it if they feel like they're gonna die if they don't get to do that. All pretty good advice, but which one is most important to her?

wiccie, you need a new accountant. how is it even possible to owe income taxes unless you have income? unless you own property or some valuable stocks or something... hm.

if you were seeing amber prior to april 15, i would suggest that you ask amber if she could help you with your taxes.

Good morning from lovely Toronto. My car looks like I've dumped it in a bucket of dirt. I really should get it washed but it's such a pain! Winter sucks because it just makes everything dead and it mucks up your car!

If I could ask Amber anything...well, I have talked to her through email and I don't remember if I asked her anything. Oh yeah, I did ask her if she enjoyed her work because we were talking about our jobs. She said that she loves doing it because of the entertainment it brings to people everywhere but it's very demanding, being up at 3-4 am every morning. I don't know what else I'll ask her when we actually talk on the phone. She's only left me weird messages when I haven't been home. She's very quirky. And sweet.

Yeah, I'm serious. My gf knows some people (she's in the business) and SMG owes her a favour (from 4 years ago) so she was supposed to have SMG and Amber call me on my birthday (March 8th). SMG got busy so Amber emailed me to say she'd call. She was busy though and the only time she was available to call was really late at night here so she kept emailing me instead. She's a very sweet person. I missed her calls on Sunday but I'm sure we'll chat sometime soon. My gf and I are supposed to have lunch with SMG when we visit LA and Amber's supposed to join us. I can't wait!!!

The first phone message I got from Amber I erased because I thought it was my cousin being stupid. Amber's crazy. But in a good way.

Yurg, wiccie, bummer about the taxes. I feel you, as a grad student and consultant, none of my income gets taxed at first, so even having made estimated tax payments, I still owe a truckload, also due in a month...gulp!

I'll second the question about has Amber considered cutting an album, that would be awesome.

Nothing much new today, just trying to get everything done before spring break...my wife and I are going to New York for a week to visit my sister and a bunch of friends who live there, and just to hang out - so looking forward to it! But there are miles to go before I sleep....

After praising her for being so cool; I would ask about how was it growing up in Alabama.
I really liked the dad quotes in the AU magazine article and in all her interviews, it seems like she is so open-minded, level-headed and mature.

Then I would ask how she can remain so down to earth/grounded when surrounded by Hollywood? Oops, wait that's two questions. Darn.

Hmmm. I've been productive today. Being productive is good. I need to write more though, especially seeing as um...no wait, no, that's not really nice talk for the spoiler thread. Ahem.

Anyway, if I could ask Amber anything...um...I dunno. I pretty much got to ask her lots of stuff last year, which was great. The questions we'd intended to ask her kind of got diverted as we found out how she likes to swear. Occasionally. Again, I say 'ahem'.

I asked her about the credits thing, which, to be honest, is what I'm interested in right now.

Ooh, long time no daily thread posty for me. I have been kinda busy. I still read as often as possible (coz the Kitten is my home!) but not so much with the posting.

So my only tax terror is waiting for my refund to arrive ... they mailed it out on Friday, but the post office says I won't get it in my mailbox until Thursday or Friday. Which is kind of cool coz my birthday is Friday. I still haven't sent out my state tax stuff, and I want to have my refund from state directly deposited into a bank out here, but I can't open an account to deposit it into until my federal money gets here. At any rate, it's way better than having to pay in (ouch, wiccie!) like I did last year because neither of my jobs withheld anything that year. Taxes suck.

I would ask Amber if she could get me a gig doing cover artwork for her next comic project. *^_^* Since I can't ask her to marry me, either. ^_~

I haven't done my taxes yet either. I lost two of my big W-2's and had copies mailed and then I found them. They got mixed up with my roommates mail.

Found out today I was really lucky that I had work this past winter. A bunch of people I worked with today didn't have work from 9/11 until the beginning of January. That's a bummer man.

I think I would ask Amber if she ever played D&D. It's fun. Or if she can swear in many languages. That's fun too.

I'm looking for people who read The World and Other Places by Jeanette Winterson.
I'm French and I'm a student in English.
My Master's thesis consists in translating 4 short stories of this book into French and I'm having a hard time with the short story entitled "Disappearnce I".
Indeed I can't make up my mind whether the narrator is male or female for in French I have to decide.
Plus I'd like to know if the word "Pharoah" is the opposit to "Pharaoh"...
