Me too. I spent way too long last night looking over the Buffy Bronze Posting Board Archives, looking for clues -- I especially looked at what TPTB were saying about last year's ending around this point in time -- and sadly, I came up with jack. *grump* So I'm just gonna go on record, in hopes that Joss or Marti might make a trip by this board, that I forgive them in advance for blatently abusing my emotional credulity as long as things turn out alright in the end.
Hey, it worked with last year's finale of Queer as Folk. Speaking of endings and follow-ups that blatently abused their viewers emotional credulity. *g* I remember my mantra from then too -- head wounds bleed a lot; Randy Harrison has a five year contract; head wounds bleed a lot, etc... And hey, it turned out to be true. *g* So how about a new mantra for this year (and I have this horrible, nagging feeling that we may not know how this truly ends until next year -- someone hold me, please): Joss is good; he knows how important this is to this community; Joss is good; he knows how important this is to this community, etc.
Does that work for y'all?, she asks hopefully.

Will Joss give the audience what they need?
Can he finally prove to us that what we need to occur is something far greater than what we want to occur?
Is what we need a derivative of what we want, or should it be a combination of the + and – events?Anyway it sound convincing when I thought it.

I think this is a fascinating question, and frankly, I have a hard time answering exactly where all this is headed, although I can't see how anyone could think we, the audience, NEED to see Tara killed off. But I'm biased, y'know?
I think, at some point this season, every Buffy fan is likely to have a chance to say "I told ya so" or "I *knew* it" about something- and also likely to see something they absolutely *knew*, deep in their hearts, would never happen on the show come to pass. So many contradictions. They really are taking us for one hell of a ride.

I'm almost swayed by this. If I believed that ME believed that the people at issue here actually have the capacity for intelligent thought, I'd be more inclined towards swayage.I don't know. I still think completely ignoring them and just doing what's right is a better idea.
Yeah, I hear ya, Dazey. And personally I'd really rather not have to watch this play out. Perhaps I'm grasping, and just looking for a bright side. I just have to believe there is *some* point to all this.

Actually I think you may feel biased, as you are a Tara fan, but in fact, are not.
Yes, Joss will indeed kill her. But history has shown that he feels Tara is vital and useful.
He has made major advances for her character and her relationship with Willow.
Tara’s progression in such a short time is unsurpassed in comparison to the other scoobies.
That in itself would make anyone think that we don’t need to see her death occur.
On the other hand, for all those who say that that is the exact reason why Joss would indeed kill her, I say, I don’t think that is the way ME works.
Why spend years building a house of cards only to set if aflame once it’s complete?

And yes, it does seem pointless to give Tara so much development this season if she's just to be a dramatic device for Willow's switch to the dark side....

Yes, we have a very easy way of determining this. OK, I've done this before but I'll do it one more time. First unit shoots about 8 days per episode. Second unit does pick up work. Episode 19 started first unit work on Feb 22nd. What that tells us is an approximate, but I betting pretty damn close shooting schedule for the remainder of the season.
Seeing Red - Feb 22-Mar 5th
Villians - Mar 6th - Mar 15th
Episode 21 - Mar 18th - Mar 27th
Episode 22 - Mar 28th - April 9th
I'm betting second unit work probably wraps the whole Buffy shoot for the season around April 15th or so.
So if we are going to be getting clues about the final 2 episodes we should be seeing them fairly soon.

About three or so weeks ago, I remember seeing a post at the BetaBronze from someone who was upset because they had been spoiled by something in a TV guide. I think it may have been an Australian one or something like that, but I can't really remember. And the gist of it was they had a blurb about the Troika and how they were kind of just annoyances until one of the Scoobies was going to help them out and wind up giving them real Big Bad potential.
Does anyone know if that was real? If it was really in an official TV Guide kind of magazine or anything like that? I can't for the life of me remember if it was ever confirmed.
I do remember at the time everyone was speculating that it would be Spike or Willow. But there's obviously another strong possiblity now, if it was actual spoilage.
