You know, ever since I first saw those pics, I have never believed they're of Amber. With all the other pics of Amber when she was younger, you can still easily see that it's her, but not with these two. I just don't see it, that girl does not look like Amber at all, we talked about it in chat one night, and no one there thought that those pics were of Amber either. And if it is Amber, then like Sela said, it's a combination of makeup, lighting, and angles, and not a very good combination I'm afraid.[This message has been edited by Warduke (edited March 20, 2002).]

Howdy Rosenberg. To make a word or phrase bold, put [ b ] around what you want to be bold [ / b ], but take out the spaces between the letter B and the left and right brackets I've put in here. Also, it's important that the / gets put in (left bracket, / B, right bracket, again no spaces) at the end, it "closes" or "ends" the bold command. "quote" works the same way, except instead of the letter B it uses the whole word [ QUOTE ] to open and [ / QUOTE ] to close (or begin and end depending on how you think of these things) When you use the "reply with quote" option, the board automatically adds both "quote" and "bold" to the entirety of the post you're replying to. If you just want to quote a little bit of that post, just delete all the bits you don't want from between the [ QUOTE ][ B ] Blah blah stuff someone said blah. [ / B ][ / QUOTE ] (again, I added spaces so you could see what I'm typing, to get these codes to work, type them without spaces, and don't forget the / to close them) You can add "quote" manually as well. If I split your post into two parts, then put a new "end" [ / QUOTE ] at the end of the first part and a new "beginning" [ QUOTE ] at the start of the second part, I can then insert a comment of my own in between. quote: Originally posted by Rosenberg: Ok, I've read the FAQ, and I've tried to do this 3 or 4 times now and I can't get it right.
See, I can respond to one little thought, and then...
quote: Every time I try, I wind up quoting the entire post. Also, how do you bold the text of the item you want to quote?
...respond to another little part. And notice how I just deleted out "If you just want to quote a portion of a post, like maybe a couple of sentences, how do you do it?" in the second part of the quote. As a matter of honesty and politeness, if you're deleting a lot of someone's quote in your reply, many people say something like "(snippage (or cut) for length)" or put .... (ellipses) to indicate that it's fragment of a larger statement. Like this: quote: Originally posted by Rosenberg: Ok, I've read the FAQ, and I've tried to do this 3 or 4 times now and I can't get it right...
(ellipses) quote: Originally posted by Rosenberg: Ok, I've read the FAQ, and I've tried to do this 3 or 4 times now and I can't get it right. (snippage for length)
Anyway, I probably rambled on too long, I hope this wasn't confusing. If you make a mistake, you can always go back and edit the little code things. Posts: 1148 Registered: Jan 2001 | posted March 21, 2002 00:33 I agree; it's all just a very bad combination of factors. We're so used to seeing Amber in very 'natural' makeup - earthy, nothing too red or splashy - and with a certain tone and cast to her expressions. These photos are Amber well in the opposite direction - bright lipstick, lots of eyebrow, with a pouty, teen-cliche look. It's Amber Benson's face under all that, yes, but very little of her personality. [This message has been edited by Kalita (edited March 21, 2002).] IP: Logged |

Yah. I played around a bit, and I think that if you hit this intro page at any point during a browser session, even for an instant, the red folders appear whenever you hit the thread index after that, even if not following a link on the intro page. Your pages go directly to the intro page, and my bouncing up a level hit it. I'm not a huge fan, though. I think I'll gratiously save you some bandwith and just keep jumping straight to the thread index. IP: Logged |

Concerning the photos above, I always thought someone might have made a mistake by saying that this was AB cause to me the girl looks somehow different from her, but I might be wrong. But now I have a serious question:
Until today I was always entering the Kittenboard by www.fractalcore.com and there was on the left side the part called ""UBB Showcase" and under that line was written "The Kitten, The Witches and The Bad Wardrobe". That's how I entered, but right now the Kittenboard isn't there anymore (I almost got a heart attack!).
A friend of mine who had donloaded some parts of the spoilerthread sent me one site by E-mail and somehow I could enter the Kittenboard.
Now I would really like to know why there is this change I mentioned above and how you usually enter the Kittenboard?
In advance thanks.

If that's Amber, then she must have had her jaw increased in width and changed her eye colour at some point, too. No doubt someone will tell me it really is Amber, now.
Robin, my guess is that the Kitten is just no longer Fractalcore 'featured site' (I can't see why, though! ). The url I give people for the board is froggyfrog.com/kitten, as that will also get you to the backup board, but I've got the main index bookmarked as well.

Ok, I've read the FAQ, and I've tried to do this 3 or 4 times now and I can't get it right. If you just want to quote a portion of a post, like maybe a couple of sentences, how do you do it? Every time I try, I wind up quoting the entire post. Also, how do you bold the text of the item you want to quote? IP: Logged

"quote" works the same way, except instead of the letter B it uses the whole word [ QUOTE ] to open and [ / QUOTE ] to close (or begin and end depending on how you think of these things)
When you use the "reply with quote" option, the board automatically adds both "quote" and "bold" to the entirety of the post you're replying to. If you just want to quote a little bit of that post, just delete all the bits you don't want from between the [ QUOTE ][ B ] Blah blah stuff someone said blah. [ / B ][ / QUOTE ] (again, I added spaces so you could see what I'm typing, to get these codes to work, type them without spaces, and don't forget the / to close them)
You can add "quote" manually as well. If I split your post into two parts, then put a new "end" [ / QUOTE ] at the end of the first part and a new "beginning" [ QUOTE ] at the start of the second part, I can then insert a comment of my own in between.

As a matter of honesty and politeness, if you're deleting a lot of someone's quote in your reply, many people say something like "(snippage (or cut) for length)" or put .... (ellipses) to indicate that it's fragment of a larger statement. Like this:

posted March 20, 2002 22:15 To quote just bits of a post, the way I do it anyway, is to click on the quote icon, and then highlight and delete the bits of the post that I don't want to quote. I don't think there's an easy way to quote only portions of the post without first quoting the whole thing and then physically removing the parts you don't want.hope that helps!
edited to say: len, you certainly beat me there! you're post was a lot more explanatory than mine!

Well, the other way to quote parts of a post without the whole thing would be to just cut-and-paste, and then put the quoted portions in bold, or surround the quoted portion with the commands quote and /quote (surrounded by [ ]brackets, of course.)[This message has been edited by Wiccagrrl (edited March 20, 2002).]

Just want to say thanks to everyone who explained how to quote another posters comments. I too read the faq, but was still I little confused how to use it, but now feel more confidant in using the quotes. Also like to say I think this thread is a great idea, so thanks again.IP: Logged

Ok, I have a question.I read this board daily. It is the only buffy board I read.
Do I need to sign up for the Willow/Tara mailing list? Am I missing anything?
Ok, that is two questions really.

Do you mean, the willtara Yahoo Group?
If so, then no, you don't, and no, you're not missing anything.
Trust me.

With all the other pics of Amber when she was younger, you can still easily see that it's her, but not with these two. I just don't see it, that girl does not look like Amber at all, we talked about it in chat one night, and no one there thought that those pics were of Amber either. And if it is Amber, then like Sela said, it's a combination of makeup, lighting, and angles, and not a very good combination I'm afraid.
I had the same reaction when I first saw these pics, and it was actually brought up at The Essence of Amber Forum. I believe Little Willow said that it was indeed Amber. It's from Teen Magazine 1998. Here's the URL for the pics and for the blurb. http://www.efanguide.com/~amber/ateen.html

I agree; it's all just a very bad combination of factors.

Yeah, gotta agree, not real flattering. I dunno, the Amberness doesn't really come through. I believe it's her...it *sorta* looks a bit like her...if you squint real hard IP: Logged
