Author WillowMaclay a.k.a. Lisa Avron
Summary: Well, the show always cut off on things that we never got to see between Willow and Tara, such as their first kiss etc. etc. So I decided to fill in some of the blanks. Starting with their first kiss, so that's what this part is about. It takes place during season four. No specific Episode but before Superstar.
Rating: PG (may change)
Disclaimer: If I owned these characters, they would live in my house and we would party like it's 1999, but alas....I don't....Every character I mention is owned by Joss Wheadon and ME.
Feedback: Is very much appreciated so please, if you are offended by my stuff you can yell at me here! or email me at Wannablessedbe6@yahoo.com...her goes nothing and a leap...
~~~~~~~The In Between Thoughts~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was the two girls in the room. Willow and Tara and between them, it felt like nothing else was present, except of course for the smothering magiks. It was a welcoming feeling for both the fiery red head and the shy blond. The scenery around them fell like a backdrop as soon as their hands had touched. The air was thick and filled them in long gasps. They were breathing in time and together. Their eyes closed, they focused on nothing but the sensuality of each other. And that was the problem.
“Premia esteia.” They spoke in unison. The essence of magik filled every empty detail in each of them. The physical pull was motherly, kind, warm, intense, arousing something deep within both witches.
A small pile of sticks sat in front of them, still, unlit. “Premia esteia.” They spoke again and seemed to both pause to wait for something, anything to happen. Nothing did. With a disappointed sigh Willow, somewhat reluctantly, broke the trance. Her forest eyes opened just as Tara’s did, and they took in their failure, both a bit frustrated, with the spell and the sudden lack of that oh-so- lovely arousal. “I-I don’t think we can do this.” Tara said.
They had barely noticed that they still held each others hands. “Yes, we can! I mean, this is way below our level. It’s the spell! Being all …spelly! It’s laughing at our demise!… Stupid spell. ” Willow’s pout couldn’t help but set a smirk on Tara. “What?” Willow asked, a smile creeping across her face. Tara obviously couldn’t say what she was really thinking. She’s the sweetest thing ever. I just want to grab hold of her and…..... She still wasn’t sure of some things about her new found friend and well…. she would never go so far as to assume anything. So she thought of something quickly.
“I think…I think theres a better spell for this. I’m pretty sure it requires redwood instead of ribbon wood, but it should be a bit easier.”
“Do you have that stuff?” Willow asked.
“Oh yeah”, Tara said breaking the hold of their hands. She stood up while Will looked to the floor a little flushed. She had just noticed how she was playing with Tara’s fingers affectionately during their short conversation. Her index finger stroking lightly on the blondes palm. The tickling sensation sent shivers down Tara’s spine. “It’s somewhere around here.” Tara said walking over to her nightstand beside her comfy looking bed. Tara loved her room. It was quaint and honest. It took in the deep description from its owner.
Willow stood. “Wheres the text?” Tara looked up, her hair falling gently across her face. “Oh, it’s on the top shelf over there.” She pointed to the bookshelf by the door, and then continued her searching through the small drawer.
Willow scanned the shelf . “What’s it called?” Tara didn’t look up this time. “It’s the German Volume of Witchcraft, it’s a tattered old thing. It was kinda passed down from my mom.” Willow found it by sight, on the top shelf like Tara had said. Now reaching it was her only problem. She cursed her shortness and stood on her toes, stretching her arm out as far as it could reach.
Tara looked up from her search, a small bundle of sticks in one hand, and turned towards Willow. The girl standing as tall as she could on her toes, struggling to reach the book. She watched momentarily with a grin. So cute. Suddenly she felt rude to make her friend battle with gravity to reach the text. She shouldn’t be basking in the cuteness of all that is Willow.
“Here I got it.” She walked over, right behind Will just as red hair twirled around, to face Tara saying “I got it…”. Her last word trailed off as she found Tara’s eyes beaming in brightness. They froze.
So close, their was barely two inches between them, Tara’s hand slid down from it’s reach and slowly down Willow’s arm. Willow looked to her side and watched the hand for a brief moment, and then locked her gaze on Tara once more. It took everything in her not to drop the book she held loosely to her side. Tara’s gaze left Willow’s eyes and focused on the red heads lip shape.
“You got it?” Tara asked softly. “Yeah,” Willow said, almost a whisper, “I got it.”
In a quick force forward, Tara ‘s mouth found Willow’s, her hands holding nicely on her waist. Willow stood still. She embraced Tara’s lips into her own. The clash created an opening at their mouths which made a little space with each new soft expression. Nothing felt sharp, as if all the lights in the world had just dimmed at once. Willow pushed forward passionately grabbing hold of Tara’s upper lip. Sucking lightly, wrapped up in the softness.
The book made a “thud” sound when it hit the floor. Tara let go of the kiss and Willow’s waist reluctantly, taking a sudden step back. The sound snapped her back into the world. She shivered now, weather it was from the stillness in the air or the thought of what she had just done, she wasn’t sure.
Willow looked at her first a little taken back, then some what concerned. “Tara- " she began but was cut off abruptly by Tara’s instant apology. “I’m-I’m sorry.” Tears welled in her eyes, she bit her lip hard trying to hold them back, but it was something she couldn’t control. “I’m s-so sorry. I-I sh-should leave.” She turned a little looking around the room.
Willow took a step forward. “It’s your room Tara.”
Tara casts her eyes to the floor “Oh….well I- " Willow interrupts. “Are you really sorry?” Will’s eyebrows fell down worriedly scrunching her forehead. Tara wouldn’t look up to her. “Tara,” she took a step forward and grabbed the girl’s hands, “are you sorry?”
Against her will Tara’s frightful eyes looked up to Willow. “I…I…” Her sentence seemed stuck, and unwilling to push forward. Willow got closer, letting go of Tara’s hands, and gently taking hold of her face. “I’m not….Tara…I’m not sorry.” Willow’s voice was sure and certain, comforting and warm. Tara’s grim expression turned into a confused state, then into understanding.
Willow smiled. “Part of me is hoping that you really weren’t either.” Tara could feel herself forming some kind of an expression, but nothing had shown brighter in that room then her elated smile.
“A-are you s-sure?”
Willow gave a reassuring nod. “I don’t think I could pretend to be sorry. Not when I got these kinda butterflies buzzing around. They’re telling me that I should be daring and not babble and kiss you….” Willow’s smile toyed and broadened.
“Okay?”
Tara nodded in response. “Yes, O-okay.”
“Okay…” Willow repeated leaning back into Tara, catching her bottom lip.
The room was full again. The air not so thick. It was just the two girls, and nothing else.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The sun rays bounced around the room illuminating it with the coming of the day . The essence of it swallowed what shadows that were left by the night, creating a life in the room. The 10 O'clock sun ray fell upon Willow's face delicately. She felt a sudden waver between the world of consiousness and unconsciousness, then with a slight wrinkle in her brow, she was awake.
The quietness roused her to fall back into the swallowing sleep, the overcoming feeling of total comfort. But it was too late. Her verdant eyes opened wearily. To her side lay a still dreaming Tara, beautiful in her tranquil ways of breathing. Her arm hung across Will's stomach and her nose snuggled up to her neck. Willow could feel her arm wrapped around the girl's back. She dare not moved, waking her would be blasphemy. She listened to the softness. This is enough. she thought. This is definitely enough.
Thoughts of last night spilled into her head. Everything that had happened. A kiss. Well really two. One given to her and one she gave. Then a long conversation before drifting off. It was pretty late....it could have been a fluke. What if it was a fluke and...Willow's thoughts were interrupted by a deep waking breath from Tara. Her head brushed along Will's shoulder and she opened her eyes with a smile. "Hey" Tara's sleepy voice awakening a wonderful smile onto Willow.
"Hey there." she responded in the same sort of tone. They stayed in each others eyes. Something was going on. Something was building between them. A gap needed closing. Something tugged at both of them to beg for physical contact. They were moving ever so closely, just wanting to be closer, each mouth wanting to touch the other.
Then it hit Willow what the ten o'clock sun meant. 10:10 class!
"Oh stupid self!"
Tara, still caught up in the moment barely mumbled. "What?" Willow ran her hand along Tara's back gently. " Oh, I have class." she lifted her arm. "I have a 10:10 class, I'm going to be late." She scrambled up looking around for her shoes. Her clothes were wrinkled from the long nights sleep. "I-I'm sorry." Tara said, immediately taking the blame. She lifted her torso first and then pushed herself off the bed. The uneasiness protruding her mind, sinking her stomach into a pit.
Willow sat on the edge of the bed, quickly putting on her shoes. "I'm sorry for leaving you …..so soon. " She stood, done with her shoes, finally taking a glance over to Tara who just watched her, one arm holding the other. "It-It's okay I-I understand." It was a fluke. Tara thought. She didn't mean it She didn’t mean to kiss me. It was a fluke.. Willow saw the worry spread on Tara’s face. She wanted to say something….anything that could help. She reached for her books on Tara's desk. She was in a complete rush now.
"I'll call you later. I should get out of class pretty close to 12." She stopped rushing and held her books close to her. Her face saddened by Tara's state. "I’ll just...I'll call you." She said and turned for the door. "Yeah.." Tara muttered.
WIllow sprang for the door knob and within a moment she had left the room. Tara walked to the desk. She looked at the door and felt weak. She hugged her center, cursing herself. I can't believe I thought that her, someone like her would-
The door flung open practically being thrown off it's hinges. Tara's thoughts paused as WIllow stomped towards her, dropping her books in the process. Her hands finding the girls waist, her mouth quickly latched onto Tara’s. Their lips so in motion with one consuming kiss after another. It took Tara a little while to get over the surprise factor. She smiled and Willow, with one last loving show of tenderness, forced herself to let go.
She looked into Tara, both of them smiling. “Okay, I should, I should go…..” Oh, but her bottom lip is soo cute when it does that thing…”Now!! I should ..I should go now.” Tara nodded a little . “Yeah, you, should go.” Willow focused on Tara’s mouth. “Okay.” Willow murmured. Tara smirked now.
“Okay.”
The thought trailed off and Willow pushed forward for another kiss. Tara excepted happily.
