the new update is ready finally
I'll try to give you the next update before friday, but i doubt it, then one of my best friends (that i haven't seen for a year and a half) is coming to visit me and she'll stay till the 23rd, then i go to my hometown for Xmas!!! This means that i'll probably won't be able to post a new chapter before Xmas, sorry. But hey i'll write even during the holidays so don't worry i'm not giving up at all!!!!!!
Tempest Duer :
Updates will always wait for you even if you don't have time for them, aren't they nice?
Prue's a little
Yeah funny how things can be seen the other way around, why do people always considered homosexuality as a phase, why not considering heterosexuallity as an experimentation
Spike is one of my favourite characters, i so can hear the general clamor around
, but it's true i like him, i like his desperate attempts to be a big bad vampire and how he always fails miserably
So this time i wanted him to be the real big bad, he deserved it don't you think
It's always a pleasure to have feeedback from you, whenever you can it doesn't matter so thank you
Littlecrazy80 :
I'm happy you caught up with this fic
and that you loved it YAY
I hope you'll like the next instalment as much as the previous ones
Thank you very much for your kind feedback
Title : A Country Kinda Girl.
Author : Tawilove (Julie)
E-mail : tawilove@yahoo.fr
Distribution : No problem, just ask me first.
Feedback : Yes please, i really want to know your opinion, though please be gentle it’s my first attempt at a fic.
Spoilers : This is totally AU but there will probably be some quotes or references from the show till end of season 6.
Rating : I don’t know really but let’s say PG-13 for a start (if my rating is incorect please feel free to let me know), change in the rating will be signaled when occur.
Disclaimer : All characters belong to Joss Whedon and ME .....except for the ones i created, i won’t be naming them all, it would be too long and i’m kinda lazy! But you’ll have no problem spotting them ‘cause they never were on the show.
Summary : In this story there’s no Magic, no Demons, no Slayer, just the plain old reality! But there’s also Love and Romance so don’t run away! Willow is a computer specialist (i know, i know, how original!!!) and Tara is an english teacher. Willow has to go away from NY, where she has a great job as a computer consultant, because her life is in danger.
This is a middle Angst story, there’ll be some cliffhangers but i’ll warn beforehand!
Note 1 : I am not a professional writer and English is not my mother language so pardon me for any misspelling or grammatical errors! I didn’t research thoroughly about every subject I broach in this story so if you want me to correct something that seems incoherent or misplaced to you, let me know!
Note 2 : I’ve been away from this board for quite a while, for personal reasons and majorly lack of time! I’m back here with a fic that is not yet complete but that I firmly intend to complete don’t worry, the thing is that I won’t be able to update as often as I would like (still a lot of work), so that you know.
Thoughts are in italics!
Part Five-B : A new home
They had all gathered in the living room, talking about the ranch and Willow's first impressions on the place. The decoration was very warm and comfortable, a huge fire place was encased in the far wall of the central room, a big leather covered sofa was surrounded by some fluffy looking armchairs and the walls were decorated with various photographs of the ranch and its occupants through the years. The general feeling was one of a wellcoming, lovely home, a shrine to family.
Giles, Buffy, and Dawn had arrived only a few minutes after the redhead and some time later they were all engaged in a joyful conversation.
"So from where do you know Willow Mr.O'Brian?" Giles was a little puzzled at why a man of his age, that wasn't apparently from her family, came here with the young redhead.
"Please call me Rowan" the agent was expecting this question, who wouldn't have, after all this was very justified, so he had prepared a little senario just in case "Willow is my goddaughter, her father is one of my best friends so when I heard that Mr.Andersen was urgently needing a teacher for his computer classes, i asked Willow. She was in New York at the time, and i knew she wasn't happy at all with her position so i thought that maybe she would accept. I know she hesitated, it's a big change, and i know she's more of a city girl" the redhead blushed at this giving the agent a sideway glare. "I came here to help her settle down, her father was a bit worried for her." Willow winced lightly at this part of the lie, her father couldn't care less about her situation right now, he was most probably on a convention god knows where.
"I see! that was very nice of you Rowan, and very courageous of you Willow, I know it's hard to arrive in a new environment specially when the change is so drastic" Gilles was facing the redhead and with his last words he smiled gently at her.
"Thank you Mr. Gilles, i'm sure i will adapt quickly though" the redhead looked briefly at Tara with warm eyes before drawing back slowly, "the school seems very nice and the town is really wellcoming, at least from what i saw until now. This ranch is a wonderful place to stay at, plus you're all so nice to me that i'm really thankful for this new job!" she was smiling brightly at everyone in the room, feeling perfectly at ease.
"Well you're giving us a lot of credit Willow" Buffy giggled pleased by the honest nature of their new neighbor "wait a bit and you'll see we're just your average crazy family"
She recieved a slap on the arm from Dawn "Talk for yourself missy" but the teen was smiling brightly.
Willow was happy to witness this little banter, it was feeling so good to be a part of this, so she smiled genuinely, following attentively as the two cousins went on with their usual teasing, it seemed none of them was willing to give up. As she watched quietly this funny exchange, she didn't realize that she had been watched all along from the other side of the room by a pair of shining blue eyes.
The blonde teacher couldn't tear her gaze away form the smiling redhead ….my god how can it be, i swear she's being more beautiful each passing second, and her face is so expressive that i could look at her without ever being tired of it. I wonder what she's thinking right now, i wish i were alone with her, so we could talk……but what could i talk about, somehow my head is empty but for the thoughts of her…… she was cut short in her musings as Betty interrupted the bickering girls.
"Would you two stop!" she exclaimed in a mild authoritarian tone, a smile never leaving her lips.
"But she called me a bad name, i think it might have been latin" protested the sheriff assistant.
"Well at least you can identify the source" mocked the younger cousin, snickering even more at the offended look on the shorter blonde's face.
"That's enough" interrupted Joyce "we have a guest, be polite, and stop this game, I am sorry Willow those two can be very painful sometimes." She looked at the redhead apologeticly and directed a reproachful glaze towards the girls.
"It's ok i don't mind really, i mean it's nice to see a family interaction even if it's a little bicker" the guilty looking cousins raised their eyes smiling at this mini absolution, but this momentary relief was washed away quickly as the still reproachful director's gaze found theirs back. So they dutifuly put their heads back down trying their best to look sorry as the older woman shook her head smiling.
"I think it would be time now for Willow to discover her new lodging" announced Mrs.Crowford brightly and with a resolved that couldn't be denied she added "Tara honey, you should show her the house before nightfall, help her bring her belongings in and then both of you come back here for diner". The two girls nodded their approval shyly, none of them complaining at the prospect to finally be alone together.
The smaller house was situated some 50 feet on the right side of the master house, it was originally a place where the cowboys who worked at the ranch many years ago, would sleep and rest. Just beside it, was a barn with a roof paint in a deep crimson and some few feet further, the stables could be seen as neighings reasoned in the distance.
At the sound the redhead stiffened, a tinge of fear entering her eyes, "W-w-what was that?" she asked to the blonde teacher who was walking by her side. She knew very well what it was though, but in her frightened mind thoughts were a bit incoherent. She hoped that it was only her imagination, and even if she knew horses were living in this property, she hoped it was just a nightmare the blonde angel, now looking at her with puzzlement, would wash away in a few seconds. But it wasn't going to happen and she knew it.
"Willow?" Tara had observed the succession of expressions on the redhead face, it went from surprise, to denial, to fear, to finally reach panic. She was worried by this sudden reaction, she didn't understand what happened, just seconds before they were walking in a comfortable silence and then…… "are you alright, you look like someone who saw a ghost"
"I'm fine, finey Mc fine, totally fine with the fine…." her babble was giving away her nervous state, and it didn't go unnoticed by the blonde.
"What happened, you seem…….panicked"
"Nothing, just,……are there horses around? i mean in the near proximity of our actual position" she asked with wide eyes to the teacher.
"Uh ….yes, the stables are some feet away, why?"
"Oh nothing, just to be sure, i thought i heard them, i…….." the hacker was obviously still shaken so the blonde pushed some more.
"Is there a problem?…….with the horses i mean" she proded gently
"Well……" the redhead started blushing and put her head down looking at the grass, "Ihaveahorsefear" she mumbled quickly.
A bit too quickly for the blonde apparently cause she asked "What? Uh Willow could you please talk a tad louder and slower cause to be honest i didn't understand a word" her voice was soft and inviting so the redhead looked back at her and this time repeated more cleary what she had said.
"I have a horse fear, a real phobia, like huge panicky-phobia" she said aloud still blushing feeling stupid.
"Oh!" Tara's first reaction was one of surprise, but when she saw the redhead bend her head down again as shame took over, she rapidly added in a gentle soothing voice "Willow, please look at me, Willow?" when the redhead was once again at eye level with her she said "hey, i'm not mocking you, i'm sorry you have this fear, i never thought one could be afraid of horses, i love them so much that i didn't realise it could happen. I wasn't judging i was just surprised that's all"
"Oh ok" answered the hacker meakly in a near wisper "I know it's stupid" at that moment she saw the blonde ready to open her mouth to contradict her so she added "or maybe not" she recieved a graceful smile from Tara and she went on "it's a childhood fear, when i was 7 or 8 i don't remember, my mother wanted me to do horseriding, i wasn't enthusiastic about it, well to be honest i've never been enthusiastic about any sport" she shrugged but continued her explaination "so she brought me to this friend of hers who taught horseriding and forced me to go on a horse. This beast was huge, to my point of view at the time of course" she saw the blonde smile at the use of the word 'beast' "anyway, the guy was nice and understood that i was nervous and frightened, so he tried to convince my mother that it was not a good idea. Of course like always she didn't lissen, so he put me on the horse, and i think my nervousness must have passed through the animal cause he started to move restlessly, so i began to cry out of fear, and he started to kick out. I was terified and couldn't stop crying, shouting at everyone that i wanted to get down, but the horse was getting wilder and finally he kicked me out of the saddle. I ended up with a broken arm and a patented horse phobia".
During the story Tara had felt immensly sad for all the pain and fear her dear Willow had had to go through. She was angry at her mother for being so insensitive, but she was mostly sorry for Willow that her first experience with a horse had ended so badly.
"Oh Willow i'm so sorry that you had to go through all this" she looked at the redhead with so much compassion and tenderness that Willow's first impulsion was to hug her fiercely, but she didn't move, instead she grinned widely.
"Thank you Tara, but don't be sorry, you're not responsible for it" she said looking adoringly at the blonde "but thank you for listening though".
"You're wellcomed" replied the teacher with the same look on her face.
They stayed like that for a long moment before Tara broke the silence "Maybe one day you could come with me and pay a visit to the ….'beasts'" she giggled lightly.
"Uh i don't know…i…uh…..uh, maybe" she finally relented smiling at the blonde who seemed to possess an incredible power over her so adorable, so caring, so yummy…..why do you always come back there Rosenberg, cool off!!!!! She's looking at you so cool off before she asks you what makes you look like a well cooked lobster.
"Uhm, what about, going to your new house now?" questionned the teacher slightly blushing under the unwavering gaze of the other girl what is she thinking of to look all flushed and dreamy, could it be me…… no Maclay stop dreaming would you! before you turn all crazy, …but i'm already crazy, crazy for her!!!!
Have a nice day or night
You can destroy whatever you want / All she needs is to open her arms / To rebuild everything, to rebuild everything
