Chapter 4
Tara, who was now alone at the dorm room, was sitting on her bed sobbing and shaking. She still had the image of the dead guy in her had. With the blood everywhere and the skin being peeled off. It was just disgusting and she had the feeling to have to throw up, but she didn’t. Tara was still in her own world thinking about that poor guy, when Willow entered the room with a worried expression on her face. She sat down on the edge of Taras bed and asked if there was anything she could do to make her feel better. Tara didn’t reply the question so Willow sat next to her and embraced her like she could take away the memories with that.
A few minutes later the sobbing and shaking Tara relaxed and her breathing became regular again. She was asleep in Willows arms, and she would not go anywhere.
Tara began to stir and Willow was still holding her. A smile was on Taras face when she finally woke up.
“Hey there. Had a nice nap?” Willow asked gently.
“Y-e-a-h t-thanx.” She stuttered.
“No need to thank me. But I have to tell you the police wants to interview tomorrow.” Willow replied as soft as possible.
“I-I d-don’t w-w-a-n-t t-to.” She stuttered and had this bad feeling in her stomach again.
“Tara, you have to. I know you don’t want to, but maybe I could go with you. Support you? Only if you want me to, of course” Willow babbled.
“T-t-h-at w-w-ould b-be gr-e-e-a-t.” She said now dancing a happy dance inside.
“Okay, they want us to be there at 11 am. Is that okay with you?”
“S-s-ure.” Tara said stuttering, but still not convinced that it would be a nice thing to go there.
Tara didn’t sleep much that night. She was so scared of the police to find out her little secret, but she was more frightened of Willows reaction, if she would find out. She thought about this the whole time, when they walked to the police station. She was terrified and didn’t know what to do or say to Willow, who was walking next to her. She knew that Willow was worrying about her, but she was trying to hide her feelings.
After a walk to the police station, that took about 20 minutes, they entered the station and Willow asked Tara for the 10th time this day, if she was alright. She didn’t answer like the other 9 times, and Willow cursed herself once more for asking that question over and over again.
A deputy noticed them and introduced himself as Julian Robbins . The girls told them, officer Michael Martins wanted to interview Tara about the incident yesterday.
“Okay, Miss Maclay would you please come with me? Miss Rosenberg, you have to wait here.” The policeman told them.
“Oh no, I will join the interview and make sure she is okay with the questions. Try to detain me, if you want.” Willow snapped.
“Okay okay, but if you don’t behave yourself I will kick you out of here. You get it?” asked Mr. Robbins.
“Whatever” Willow answered. She didn’t like this guy. He was so harshly.
He guided the way to the office, where Mr. Martins would interview Tara. Willow hoped he would be kindlier than the deputy. She would protect Tara. Come hell or high water.
Why am I thinking this way. Am I attracted to her? No. I am straight, ain’t I? This is giving me a headache. Stop thinking. See they are waiting for you to enter the office.
They entered the office and Michael Martins and he introduced himself. He seemed to be a nice man, but then he asked Tara harshly what happened and why it took her so long to call the police.
“Hey. She found that guy. It was a big shock. I don’t think you noticed. His skin was peeled off.” Willow shouted at the policeman.
“It’s okay Willow. I found him around 10am and it was just disgusting. I didn’t call, because I was in shock. So Willow called you” Tara didn’t stutter this time. It was very hard not to stutter, but she didn’t want Mr. Martins to be curious, why she was stuttering. There is always a reason for stuttering that bad. Tara looked at Willow and saw a surprised face. She always stuttered when Willow was around, but her eyes pleaded not to say anything. So Willow kept her mouth shut.
“Did you notice anything in particular?” he asked gentle this time.
“No, I didn’t see anyone or anything.” Tara would not tell him about the bad feeling she had before finding the dead guy lying in the river.
“Where were you 2 days ago at 9 pm?” the officer asked still not convinced the girl in front of him didn’t have anything to do with the murder.
“I was at my dorm room. Willow was there, too. Why do you ask? Oh no. You suspect me as a murderer?” Tara asked a little scared, but still not stuttering.
“I do. You found him and nobody was around. Maybe that girl is your accomplice.” He told her pointing a Willow.
Now Willow and Tara were in rage.
“We are leaving” They said in union and left the police station.
