A-Z Song Lyrics by devanmoonshadow

Postby devanmoonshadow » Fri Apr 12, 2002 2:01 pm

Hi! I have written song "C" in my grand ALPHABET OF W/T SONGS! (echo..echo...) It's called "Can We..?" and it's a bit more racy then the others I've written but it is also happier. It deals with the first time they made love. Enjoy :)

CAN WE...?

I touch your body - you touch mine

Linked forever in the grand design

I cannot speak as our souls intertwine

I let the sensation into my mind

Words are not needed - the sounds go unheeded

We both understand some how

This moment created in bliss unabated

We know the time is now

We've waited so long for this moment to arrive

The energy is pulsing - so glad I'm alive

These feelings forbidden that I have kept hidden

And are now ready to be set free

Can we...? (whisper)

It's what I'm feeling - we are one

In ecstacy - senses overrun

Nothing else matters - there is only this

A moment of pleasure in magical bliss

What I am feeling my mind's disbelieving

But my heart knows that it's true

I know I'm not dreaming - what gives my life meaening

Is the one in my arms that is you

We've waited so long for this moment to arrive

The energy is pulsing - so glad I'm alive

These feelings forbidden that I have kept hidden

And are now ready to be set free

Can we...? (whisper)

Je te donne ma coeur

Vous êtes les miens pour toujours

L'éternité attend

Venez avec moi, mon amour*

We've waited so long for this moment to arrive

The energy is pulsing - so glad I'm alive

These feelings forbidden that I have kept hidden

And are now ready to be set free

Can we...? (whisper)

These lyrics were written with my small my knowldege of French with the help of Altavista's translation page. Please feel free to correct any errors. The lyrics as translated read as follows:

I give you my heart

You are mine for always

Eternity is waiting

Come with me, my love

Beautiful hon. I love the bit in french. It adds a very romantic dynamic to the song. It's nice to see you stepping into happier realms with your lyrics...can't wait to see what letter D will be.

I loved these lines, for some reason they seem to speak so clearly about the way that Willow and Tara are just intended to be together, as though it were part of some overall plan.

Lovely to read at this point in the season. Thanks.

The translation of this words is:

Je te donne mon coeur

Tu es à moi pour toujours

L'éternité attend

Viens avec moi, mon amour

It's really, really beautiful.

Very nice. I like the French, it adds a touch of romance and mystery. I look forward to D.

Ooh, sexy song. I like it!

Tara: Do you mind if I keep the light on? I was gonna look up some spells.
Willow: That's fine, I don't need to be snuggled...
Tara: Vixen!

This was very nice. And the French was a nice touch at the end. Very good.

Thank you everyone for your replies :) And a special thank you to FrenchKitty for her translation..I forgot that you'd probably want to use the singular/less formal "Tu" instead of formal/plural "Vous". Thanks :)

Oh goodness, Steve! That was just beautiful. I was actually singing a melody to the lyrics in my head, while I was reading them.

That was gorgeous, sweety. :)

Song Lyric: BEFORE YOU GO

Postby devanmoonshadow » Mon Apr 15, 2002 8:02 pm

Hi everyone. I'd like to thank everyone who gave me feedback on my first song lyric posted here. So after a week or so to find time to write a new one, here it is! It's called "Before You Go" and is another sad song (I got that sad-vibe going on recently), done probably in a really dark way with maybe only a simple piano accompianment (sp?). My goal is to do a complete A-Z of W/T songs, so hopefully next song will be happier. So, without further adieu, here `tis!

BEFORE YOU GO

There were no goodbyes this time

I've lost my love; I've lost my mind

The dark has come; no stars will shine

Reality is misaligned

Emotions running in my head

A day of pain I won't forget

The sky is cloudy the day is bleak

I'm falling fast I feel so weak

There's so many things that you need to know

Please save me before you go

Just a sudden flash of light

The world is ending here tonight

My life is dark no longer bright

Insanity as I take flight

Time continues marching on

A bitter taste now that you're gone

The sky is cloudy the day is bleak

I'm falling fast I feel so weak

There's so many things that you need to know

Please save me before you go

Release me from the edge of torment

I'm trapped in agony

Release me from this broken story

I'm lost in misery

The sky is cloudy the day is bleak

I'm falling fast I feel so weak

There's so many things that you need to know

Please save me before you go

The first part of this reminded me of Stop All The Clocks, which is one of my favorites. But the line "reality misaligned" was just great.

Have you set this to music yet? Or are you planning to do so? I think it would be a wonderful ballad.

Thanks for posting this; it's very introspective.

No music yet, tommo...but one of these days it'll just pour out of me..probably when I am far away from my piano lol

Hopefully at some time I will have access to some recording equipment and post real sound files of these!

Thanks to everyone for the comments

This was very sad and heavy. But I really, really liked it. I think it would sound really good with just a piano. I would love to hear it if you ever do set it to music.

And you know... just re-reading these lyrics have caused images to flow in my head (music usually does that for me better than anything else) of what kind of Willow/Tara scene could be going on with this music in the background. And wow... this could be incredibly powerful set to pictures.

Anyhoo, getting away from what I was saying. Great song. Looking forward to reading some more from you.

Yeah, now that you mention it Ruth... "Funeral Blues" (that's its title) always conjures up sad and deeply rooted memories... mainly of the funerals of 3 close people I've lost in the past 2 years.

Nicely written, Steve.

This song really touched me. I'm finding it difficult to formulate the right words to respond to it...my heart keeps clenching and unclenching which makes it hard to concentrate. Beautiful lyrics hon, keep 'em coming.

Truly tragic... Been reading a lot of that lately (mostly Victorian poetry -> exams coming up) I'm in this melancholic mood, associating everything with Willow and Tara right now, so your song fits perfectly in that pattern. Wonderfully written: fluent enough but without gratuituous rhyme and touching sensitive chords of our souls. Thanks, dear

Song: Always - By My Side - Next To Me

Postby devanmoonshadow » Mon Apr 15, 2002 8:48 pm

Song: Always - By My Side - Next To Me

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wrote this song the other night. It was inspired by Willow's feelings after the break up in Tabula Rasa. I sent it to a number of people who suggested I post here. If response is favorable I have many more. I write many different styles of music. This one is very Michelle Branch-y Enjoy.

ALWAYS - BY MY SIDE - NEXT TO ME

Sometimes there's nothing left of life to allow us to go on

Sometimes what we have doesn't seem worthwhile `till it's gone

Missing someone so bad that pain is sweet relief

Just to feel anything could be pleasure, I believe

Falling, falling deep into the black

Calling, calling for you to come back

Help me I'm losing my will to survive

Nothing in this world can keep me alive

Until you return I won't be complete

I want you always by my side next to me

Living without you near is a hell I can't describe

A life with nothing but a vacant space by my side

I couldn't take the agony that comes with being alone

Isolation into myself to a world of my own

Crying, crying out for your soul

Dying, dying in a world ever cold

Help me I'm losing my will to survive

Nothing in this world can keep me alive

Until you return I won't be complete

I want you always by my side next to me

No life is complete with you not with me

I don't have the strength to continue to be

Your love can overcome the pain that I hide

With you I feel the passion inside...

Help me I'm losing my will to survive

Nothing in this world can keep me alive

Until you return I won't be complete

I want you always by my side next to me

Meow (not really part of the song... )

But it doesn't really matter if the song has no music, because it reads so well as just text anyway. And you know, most good songs are like poetry set to music, in my opinion.

I liked a lot of the ideas in this. You seem to express yourself in this genre pretty well; thanks for posting.
