Great update! They're all snuggly and cute! Except they're going to be sad after the next dream! :( Oh well, I trust that you will take good care of them, and they will be okay in the end.

Take your time... we will wait.

I think it's really important to stress how powerful Tara is, without the aid of dark magic. I liked the fact that she cast a spell with Willow there to see that. I'm all for the strong Amber.

Re: UPDATE

Postby VampNo12 » Thu Apr 25, 2002 2:44 am

Great update Jessan! The talking over some of their issues was wonderful, and very insightful for both W&T. It's interesting how Tara in a sense blames Buffy for Willow turning to black magic, and thus fighting with Glory. And its logical because like Tara said no one knows Willow as well as Tara does. If Buffy tried to get Willow to stay with her, and focus on Tara and her friends, maybe Willow would of used her time more wisely instead of going off at the spur of the moment to find the Dark Magic Book. I wonder how Tara will react to Buffy now that she knows what happened at the hospital?

It was great how Willow explained how at first she was angry because she thought Tara just gave in to Glory without a fight. However, they way she explained how proud she was of Tara, because she knew Tara was protecting all the innocent bystanders at the fair (ie she was unselfish by putting others before herself) was a nice way to show Willow now understands.

Then Tara demonstrating to Willow how one uses proper magic. White magic is powerful (as well as Tara) when one uses the magic with a clear focus/control. By Tara doing the spell, in which Willow felt the love/power of their magic together, clearly shows to Willow why following the dark magic path is the wrong path to follow. Looking forward to see what happens with the gang next!

Wicked update!!! Wil and Tara getting with the snuggles was really sweet, and I'm with Tommo ... just can't get enough of Strong Amber, they need to use her power more for good stuff of course. Just watched Normal Again tonight and it was really cool for Tara to use 2 spells and save everyone!!! Yay, we want more!!

Jessan, know you like cocktails and my favourite is M.S.O, so when are we likely to get that one in this fic?

Random thoughts...

Postby jessan15 » Fri Apr 26, 2002 9:49 am

Back pain...its all about the back pain...don't ask. Anyway, since I was blessed with another day off this week...I can catch up on my writing...I didn't do any last night and THAT pissed me off. Damn back. Ok, so what'd everyone say...

-----------------------

Willowfan - Is it time for a discussion about a spell? Yes, but not the Forget Spell. The next three's dreams are closely tied together....

Drakkenfyre - Yep its all coming together...there's actually forshadowing about the ending in the next part...I can't believe I am actually thinking about the end...finally. The God of Love...a pervert...YOU want the same view, so stop ragging on the horny Love God.

Wolflord - Dreamscape...and shopping...not in that order. You don't mess with Love....

LeatherQueen - Pushing? I like to think of it as dragging them both kicking and screaming the whole way...smoochies, now that's the goal, isn't it?

Pixie gishmock - Tears! Argh...this was supposed to be a happy update! Sigh...maybe Anya will make you laugh in the next part to make up for it.

jdcioffi - The God of Love Loves you too. Pressure, no pressure...just cause they might be going to karmic hell in three days....

ExtraFlameyWT - No sad...disappointment, yes, sad no. Maybe even a hint of pissyness, but not sadness.

JennY - Traumatizing! Perish the thought...Anteros will have to throw an extra quip in there to make you smile.

tommo - Oh Tara definately rocks, but she's not the type to ever brag or even tell anyone. WIllow still wouldn't have a clue if it weren't for the required lesson.

mollyig - Yes, Willow finally gets magic...a little too late? Nah...just in time if you ask me...and the crazy God of Love...you can never tell...

VampNo12 - Things won't really change between her and Buffy. Thus trying to stress the fact that ONLY Tara could have kept Willow from leaving that hospital. Tara's the bomb in the self-sacrifice category. And yes, Willow gets Tara's magic finally...she realizes she never even had a clue...but she does now.

BigMac - W/T 24/7...I would never leave my house again.

Grimaldi - Yes, Tara has finally crossed the great divide that is Willow's understanding of magic...took long enough. Voyeur...oh please...you would too, if you could. Don't deny it.

WiccansIllusion - No...Aphrodite had a major crush on Gabby...Anteros just has a thing for watching two girls get it on.

Blue77 - Kick ass Tara does indeed rock. She'll have to show up more in the next fic. Me? Cocktails? Are you saying I **DRINK**?? I'm shocked....and you have no idea how much I really drink...hmm, alcohol in this fic...Yeah, I can do that...but who would be most likely to have an MSO? Hmmm...oh yeah, definately gotta get that in there. And I would say that there will be three very good MSO's in this fic...and only one of the beverage variety.

Lonewolf22 - If you were writing this fic then I'd have a hell of a lot more free time. LOL. Therefore...be patient.

------------------------

Ok, when's the next update...TONIGHT...but when, hmmm, it all depends on whether I actually take a nap or not...so I'll go with later to be on the safe side. 9 PM EST

See you then...

------------------------

Buffy and Dawn walk into the Magic Box. “So any word from the wiccans?” Buffy asked as she walked over and leaned on Spike’s shoulders where he sat at the table.

An anxiously pacing ex-demon should have been a dead giveaway. “No. Do you have any idea what that means?” she shouted anxiously.

Buffy was motionless as the ex-demon spoke. “Uh, no.” she said, looking like a deer caught in headlights.

Anya threw her hands up in the air in frustration. “Exactly. Neither do I. That’s the problem.” she said exasperated as she too went over and leaned on her man, who was sitting next to Spike at the table. “Do you know how nerve racking this is?!” she complained, clearly frustrated with her part in the secret lesbian love mission being finished.

Xander turned sideways and pulled Anya on his lap, trying to console the agitated ex-demon. “Anya, honey, you really need to calm down.” he said running his hand tenderly up and down her arm.

Anya threw her hands up in the air and stood up. “Don’t tell me to calm down.” she shouted. “This is all your fault!” she said pointing as accusing finger at her fiancé.

Xander‘s shock was obvious and clearly understandable. “MY FAULT!” he said putting his hands on his chest.

Spike reached behind him and tapped Buffy in the leg to get her attention. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say she was pregnant.” he whispered. “Sounds like a rationalization a pregnant woman would use.” he added.

Buffy leaned in closer to his ear. Not so he could hear better, more because she wanted him to feel her warm breath. “Nah, she couldn’t. Well, I mean, of course they could, but you don’t think?” she said, turning her head and eyeing the ex-demon. Then she turned her head back to Spike. “After all, how different is this than how she normally is?” the slayer questioned. It was true. Anya’s reasoning for most things came out of left field half of the time.

Spike nodded. “Point taken.” he agreed.

Anya pointed at the teenager sitting across from Spike at the research table. “Of course, I read it in that book Dawn gave me. Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.” She tipped her head to the side and considered the title for a moment. “Which is really a truly insane concept if you just think about it. After all, so many different species exist in space, simply suggesting that humans are somehow a hybrid of one of those…”

Channeling the various traits of fellow Scoobies had become a running joke with the gang. And Xander loved it when he got a chance to throw one of Willow’s at Anya. “Anya? You’re channeling Willow.” he pointed out.

Anya suddenly stopped and shook her head. “Oh, God.” she cleared her throat and continued. “Thank you. Now, as I was saying, according to the book, its all your fault.” she reiterated as she paced back and forth.

Xander shook his head and closed his eyes. He didn‘t want to argue with his soon-to-be-wife, but he desperately wanted to understand her thought process on this one. “The words ’it’s Xander’s fault’ are written in this book?” he asked looking to the others at the table. “Page numbers. I want evidence damn it.” he said playfully pounding his fist on the table to emphasize his words.

Anya crossed her arms in front of her and glared at Xander. “It suggests that all womens’ problems are created by men.” she told him in a rather cold tone. She then looked over at Dawn. “Isn’t that the point of the book Dawn?”

Four pairs of eyes were pinned on the teenager. Dawn felt slightly uncomfortable being dragged into the fight. She knew Anya was wrong, but she wanted to tell the ex-demon in a nice way. “Um, Anya, that’s not…” she began.

Anya held up her hand to stop the teenager. “I know, I’m generalizing.” she said. “The male species and their fragile ego couldn’t say that outright.”

Dawn‘s eyes bulged at Anya‘s last statement. She crinkled her brow in utter confusion. “No, you’re writing your own book about now.” she said sarcastically.

Buffy smiled at her younger sister. “I’m dying to hear, so you all are going to have to forgive me.” she said glancing at the guys. “Anya, how is this whole mess Xander’s fault?” she said with a devilish grin on her face.

Anya put her hands on her hips and dropped her head at the slayer in disbelief. “Well, come on. After 1100 years, it’s always the man’s fault.” she decreed, as if being the ex-demon that punished men for all those years made her the expert on these sorts of things.

Buffy giggled and Spike quietly joined her. Buffy couldn‘t resist pointing out the flaw in her thinking. “Anya, they’re both women. And they date each other.” she reasoned.

Anya nodded, as if expecting this point was going to come out. “Yes, because they were disenchanted with men to begin with. And who was the last person that Willow had an inappropriate relationship with? Xander.” she said logically connecting the pieces of the puzzle together.

The entire room groaned. Even Giles, who was trying to ignore the chatter and concentrate on his reading.

Xander immediately went on the defensive. “Wait a minute! What about Oz!?” he said, standing up to face his fiancé. “He was the last one that Willow…” he caught the look from Buffy out of the corner of his eye that said ‘not in front of my sister or I will kick your ass’. “uh, hung around with in that kind of way.” he tactfully finished. He saw Buffy smile, so he knew he had saved his butt.

Anya shook her head. “I still think that was totally an animal attraction thing.” she said as she went over to the shelves. “At least that one I can prove to you.” she said looking through the various titles.

Buffy eyes went wide. “Stop right there.“ Dawn may have known that Willow dated a werewolf, but she didn‘t need THOSE kinds of details about their relationship. “Pick up that book and you’re a dead ex-demon.” she decreed, standing up and crossing her arms over her chest, suggesting that she was very much serious.

“Buffy!” Dawn shouted indignantly at her sister. “I’m not clueless about sex you know.” she said with an annoyed look.

Buffy flashed her sister an angered look and then she looked back at Anya. “We are NOT going to discuss animal attractions in relation to ANYONE’S sex life. Are we clear on that one?” she said, tapping her foot, waiting for an answer.

Anya threw her arms in the air as she walked away from the shelves. “Fine. So like I said, it’s Xander’s fault.” she said heading back over to the counter.

Xander dropped his head on the table and then twisted to look at Spike. “I can’t win, can I?” he asked the vampire.

Spike shrugged. “You’re engaged, so I’d wager no.” he retorted.

“Damn.” Xander cursed.

Giles finally closed his book, stood up, and walked over to the research table. “Surely there has to be something more constructive you could all be doing than loitering here all evening waiting for a call from the girls, which most likely won’t occur.” he reasoned. He was trying to read some of the newer volumes Anya had acquired and wasn’t able to absorb as much as he would have liked with the constant chattering going on around him.

Buffy put on her best pout as she felt she was being scolded by her father figure. “Are you kicking us out?” she quizzically.

Anya‘s temper flared. Or maybe it was her ego. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference. “He can’t do that!” she said pointing at the watcher. “He’s now the silent partner.” she reasoned then beamed. “Only *I* can kick you out.” she said pointing to herself.

Xander leaned over to conspire with the blonde vampire. “Did you ever notice that our girls have superiority complexes?” he asked.

Spike shook his head. “Not true. We’re just the inferior males.” he answered with a smirk.

Xander‘s eyes went wide as he stared at Spike in astonishment. “I so don’t believe you just said that.” he said, shaking his head.

Spike shrugged. “I’m dead and your mortal. One‘s a slayer, the other was a demon.” he looked across the table at Dawn. “An all powerful key.” he turned his head to look at Xander. “And two kick ass Wiccas.” he finished.

Xander saw his point. “We do surround ourselves with incredible women, don’t we?” he added lightheartedly.

“And damn good looking ones at that.” Xander nodded in agreement as Buffy smacked Spike upside the head. “Bugger! It was a compliment woman!” he complained, rubbing the back of his head.

Xander tried desperately to keep the smirk off his face.

“He agreed! Hit him too!” Spike whined like a little kid.

“It’s not my job to hit Xander.” she said with a grin.

“Ow.” Xander cried as Anya smacked him upside the head.

“It’s Anya’s.” the slayer said proudly.

Dawn absolutely lost it. She fell over on the bench, her body shaking uncontrollably with laughter.

Giles could only sigh and shake his head.

Buffy saw the look on her watcher‘s face and decided he deserved a break. “Alright, I guess we do have things we could be doing. Like shopping.” she said with a playful smile.

Spike crossed his arms over his chest. “I am not going shopping.” he stated.

Buffy looked over at her sister who was just barely recovering from her episode. “Dawn?” Dawn sat up and took a deep breath. “Who got blamed for Liam taking the Doll’s Eye Crystal?” she asked.

Dawn‘s smile quickly turned into a pout. “I did.” she said dejectedly.

Buffy nodded. “Which means whatever you want Liam to do for the next few days, he shouldn’t argue with you, right?” she said, steering her sister’s line of thinking

Dawn now had an evil grin on her face. She liked the idea of having a bonafide slave for a few days. “Right.” she noted.

Buffy gave Spike her biggest smile. “Don’t you think that Liam should come shopping with us?” she said never looking over at her sister.

Dawn nodded. “Oh definitely.”

Spike stared at the slayer and then looked over at Dawn. “I hate you both.” he commented.

Buffy leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the mouth. “As if.” she taunted and hauled him to his feet.

Anya put her hand on Xander‘s shoulder. “Shopping? Ooo, Xander, capitalism at its finest.” she pointed out with glee. “I’m so moved at the beauty of it.” she said leaning on Xander’s back.

Xander sighed. “So does that mean we’re going as well?” she asked, knowing that if she wanted to, he would definitely not argue.

Anya stood up and walked over to where Giles was sitting. “Excuse me silent partner, I would like a word with you.” she said in a very businesslike manner.

Giles put his book down. “Yes Anya?”

“Are you planning on lounging about the store for a while?” she asked.

Giles rolled his eyes. Anya certainly had a way about her. “Yes, feel free to enjoy the evening off.” he said, more than happy to do anything that would get him some peace and quiet.

Anya clapped her hands. “Splendid. Just remember, once I leave, you can’t be the silent partner anymore. You must actually speak with the paying customers. You can ignore the cheapskates, if you so choose.” she instructed.

Giles couldn‘t help but smile. “Yes, of course.” he promised.

Anya turned around and walked back over to the table, “Alright, let’s go shopping!” she said enthusiastically.

------------------------

So the gang is off shopping...which is going to come into major play...there is a reason I am showing the gang doing this...other than the fact that its hysterical in itself.

Ok, back to the girls and a heart to heart with the God of Love.

Yes it was funny and so Anya to blame Xander for the mess the girls are in now. When Xander mentioned Oz was really the last man Willow was with in that way, I loved Anya's theory on animal attraction. I could so see her bringing out the books and diagrams to prove her point, but too bad Buffy didn't want Dawn to hear the sex talk.

I enjoyed seeing Liam and Xander bonding over their women, and the simple fact that the women in their life are always right, and they can't ever win. So looking forward to the comedic possibilities of a capitalistic ex-demon, a vampire, Buffy and Dawn (who strike me as two girls who could "shop til they drop"), and Xander going on a shopping excursion. Also looking forward to what the God of Love has in store for the lover wiccans in the next update.

BigMac - What's in store? 4 words...Death of a Salesman

hellmouthhottie20 - It's almost 5 o'clock in January...no bursting into flames for own vampire.

Grimaldi - Yep, the guys actually get along in my world.

Pixie gishmock - Inferiority...its a Sunnydale male thing.

Jennpurr - I get blamed for everything too...it's kinda fun once your used to it. Shopping update should be Tuesday or Wednesday...W/T smoochies...getting there....

Drakkenfyre - Nope, can't live with them. Oh talk about the man all you want...he's got flare...he's got panache...he's got a fetish for footwear! Redocorating? Oh go with the darken tone...it's all the rage right now.

Karzia -Yeah, the guys are definately closer in my word...like whiney baby brothers....and sweet stuff in store...hang in there.

jdcioffi - Greedy, aren't we?

Ok, so all is good in my world...just as soon as I put food in the overly-still-filled-with-alcohol stomach. Other than that...the next update should be up around 8 PM EST.

------------------------

Willow walked in the front door of the Magic Box. It was deserted. “Ok, now what?” she asked, looking around the shop. The last thing she remembered was laying down with Tara to nap.

At that moment, she heard the side door open and close. “Who’s there?” she called out. ‘Announcing your presence to unidentified intruders, great plan Rosenberg.’ she thought.

“I‘d hardly call myself unidentified.” Tara called back as she came around the corner near the counter with a smile on her face. “Unless you tend to dream about some other blonde witch that I don‘t know about?” she said, crossing her arms in front of her in mock anger.

“Never.“ the redhead vowed and rushed towards Tara. She put her hands on Tara‘s arms and ran them up and down gently. “Is everything ok?” she asked.

Tara shrugged, clearly puzzled by their current situation. “Yeah, I think.” she answered as she looked around the shop. Her eyes then focused on Willow‘s. “We went to sleep, didn’t we?” she asked, her eyes pleading for reassurance about what she thought had happened.

Invisible, standing before the two girls, Anteros smiled. ‘The Glory thing was pretty rough on them. You two need some snuggle time before you face up to the whole dark magic disaster.’ he thought as he watched the girls interact.

Willow quickly glanced around the shop. She slowly uncrossed Tara‘s arms and then intertwined their fingers and gave them a comforting squeeze. “But if we’re asleep, how can we be together?” she asked, trying to determine what was happening to them.

Suddenly, a voice came out of nowhere. “Ah, so many questions, so little time.” Then the brief flash of light, heralding the arrival of the God of Love.

Both girls turned their heads to look at the god, releasing one set of hands as they turned. “Anteros.” Willow muttered in a semi-annoyed tone.

Anteros put his hands on his hips and gave her a fake pout. “You were expecting Liberace?” he responded drolly. Then he shook his head in total understanding. “It’s the voice, I understand.” he said patting his vocal chords.

Willow rolled her eyes, still not comfortable around the god. Tara noticed the apprehension on her lover‘s face and ran her right hand up and down Willow‘s right arm. Tara could feel Willow relax, ever so slightly. Tara decided she should try and get some information out of the Love God since Willow wouldn‘t be very willing to start a conversation with him. “Anteros, why are we at the shop, and how are we here together?” she asked nicely.

Anteros smiled at Tara, then gave Willow a devilish grin. “See, the blonde asks the intelligent questions. You are so going to lose your reputation as the smart one if your not careful.” he said holding a hand up to his chin in thought. “But that is a reputation you’ve been trying to lose for quite some time, now isn‘t it?” he questioned.

Willow was getting irritated with the god’s little games. “What are you talking about?” she demanded in a harsh tone.

Anteros held his hands up and gestured around to the shop. “Think of this as neutral meeting ground on the astral plane where we can meet and discuss anything we want.” he then caught Tara’s eye and gave her a wink. “with visuals.” he added.

Willow was now thoroughly pissed that she was standing here watching Anteros flirt with her girlfriend. “What do we need to discuss?” she barked, her rising anger very apparent.

Anteros noticed the tone and decided he had taken enough of Willow‘s attitude. “You actually want an itinerary, cause honey, its one hell of a list.” he shot back, indignantly.

Tara saw the change in the god‘s demeanor. She turned and rested her head on Willow‘s shoulder and whispered in her ear. “Darling, can we not enrage the nice God of Love?” she pleaded with her lover.

Willow turned and stared at her lover, stupefied. “Nice? You call what he put us thru nice?” she asked with disbelief.

Anteros had had enough. Someone needed to put the fear of god into Willow. ‘I guess I‘m the only god here so…’ he thought. “Look here wonder bitch, the attitude simply has to go south for the winter or else I am going to make the saying ‘hold your tongue’ very literal. Are we clear now?” Anteros growled at the redhead.

Willow just stood there blinking at the god in total shock. “Um, yeah.” she muttered.

Once she had recovered her senses, she realized that she had been giving an attitude to a god that had blessed her and her lover. “Sorry.” she mumbled.

Anteros let a small smile creep to his lips. .“And you say your not large with the butch.“ he chastised her.

“Surely you jest.” he said , giggling at his own joke.

Tara couldn’t resist and let out a chuckle. Willow looked at her and Tara shrugged. ‘You’ll get yours later.’ Willow mentally threatened.

Tara smiled wickedly at her. ‘Bring it on.’ she mouthed.

Anteros rolled his eyes. “If you two are quite finished with the flirting?” Both girls turned their attention back to the God of Love. “Where was I? Oh yes…issues.” he said as he started pacing.

The girls watched as he paced and gestured animatedly at the same time.

“We need to chat about a little thing called self-image.” he stopped and pointed at Tara. “Or in Tara’s case, lack there of.”

Willow gave Tara’s hand another squeeze. She could see the concern on her lover‘s face. ‘You ok?’ she asked, never looking away from Anteros.

Tara nodded her head. ‘This one way communication thing is really annoying.’ she thought. Tara liked being able to read Willow’s mind, but not being able to reciprocate seemed wrong.

Anteros droned on with his explanation. “Ironically, magic played a major role in shaping Willow’s image.” he said, pointing at the redhead. “You see Tara, while magic was your legacy, it was Willow’s escape.” he explained, eyeing the redhead.

Willow quirked a cynical eyebrow at the god. “Escape from what?” she said frivolously.

Anteros shot her equally contemptuous look. “The geek you were on the path to become.” he stated knowingly.

Willow shook her head. “That is so not true.” she insisted.

Anteros grinned wickedly. “I was waiting for you to say that.” he flicked his hand towards the wall and the air shimmered as a picture came into view. More or less like watching television. “Do you remember this particular dream?” he asked.

Well, what, uh, what should I do? The, the play's gonna start soon, and I don't even know my lines.

The play's already started. That's not the point. Everyone's starting to wonder about you. The real you. If they find out, they'll punish you, I ... I can't help you with that.

Well, what should I ... what's after me? Is it something I-I was supposed to do? W-was I supposed to-

Tara looked at her lover, clearly confused with what she was seeing. Willow shrugged. ‘Wait, it make more sense in a minute.’ she assured the blonde witch.

I don't know. I-I don't know what's after me.

Well, you must have *done* something.

No. I never do anything. I'm very seldom naughty. I, I just came to class, and, and the play was starting.

Play is long over. Why are you still in costume?

Okay, still having to explain wherein this is just my outfit.

Willow, everybody already knows. Take it off.

No. No. I need it.

Oh, for god's sake, just take it off.

Willow watched in horror as her other self stood in front of a classroom looking like as she looked six years ago. The redhead turned her head to the side and closed her eyes.

That's better. It's much more realistic.

“Darling, what’s wrong?” Tara asked.

Willow kept her eyes closed, desperately trying to shut out the image of her former self. “I didn’t like that girl. She was no one.” the redhead explained.

Anteros nodded at the redhead‘s diagnosis. “So, you got into magic for the wrong reasons. You just wanted to change the stereotype that haunted you for so many years. And yet you’d never believe me that you would have fallen in love with Tara anyway.” he informed the redhead.

Willow opened her eyes and looked at the god. “The only reason we met in the first place was because of the Wicca group.” she rationalized..

Anteros let out a soft chuckle. “You can’t fight fate my dear. Destiny always gets its own way.” he informed the hacker. “There are hundreds of alternative universes and in every one of them, you two find each other.” he looked up as if remembering. “Different times, different places, but the outcome is always the same. You two always end up together.” he stated proudly. “Granted, I blessed your union in this life. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. But you two created your love a long time ago.” he assured the couple standing in front of him.

He watched as Tara searched Willow’s face for answers. ‘Does she doubt that we would find each other? We said that we would always find each other.’ she thought.

Willow finally turned to look at Tara as a tear slid down her face. “But if…” she began.

Anteros interrupted before the redhead could say something to cause more trouble between the two lovers. “Stop right there. You need to let go of this imaginary pathetic Willow that never existed.” he ordered the redhead. “You have always been a resourceful, strong-willed, loving young woman.” He looked affectionately at the blonde standing at her side. “And Tara loves you for you, not who you think you should be for her.” he concluded. He watched as Willow lifted her head as if to question him, but Anteros held up a hand. “With or without magic” he said firmly.

Willow silently nodded and turned to Tara. “I’m…I always thought that if weren’t for…”

Tara raised a finger and placed it on her lover’s lips. “The magic is a part of us, but it was never what made us special.” she said looking into the green eyes she so adored. “That was just you and I.” she said running the finger slowly down the curve of Willow’s neck. “Together.“ she finished in a whisper.

Willow leaned her head forward and rested it against Tara’s. “I know.” she said. “I should have always knew, and I don't know why I didn't know, but I definitely know now.” she promised her lover.

Tara leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on Willow’s mouth. The contact was brief, but none-the-less exquisite. Willow’s body shook as her heart ached for more.

Anteros cleared his throat to get their attention. “As much as I would love to watch the show, we’re not done yet.” he said.

The girls pulled apart slightly. Willow wrapping her arm around Tara’s back and gently rubbing it. “What else did I do wrong?” Willow questioned, automatically assuming it was her to whom he was referring to.

Anteros shook his head. “Not you butch, the lady next to you.” he watched Willow frown and tighten her grip on her girlfriend.

Tara seemed unsure of what to expect, so she tried to remain calm, but it was obvious she was worried about what the God of Love might have to say about her.

Anteros spoke in a gentle voice. “Tara, you have no concept of how your friends see you. Not really. You know Dawn sees you as a second mother, but that’s about it. You don’t understand the rest of them. You doubt them, don‘t you?” he softly prodded.

Tara shook her head. “N-no, I know they l-love me.” she said, then silently cursing her stutter for giving away her nervousness.

Willow turned her head. “Baby?” she asked out loud, then commented in her mind. ‘I haven’t heard you stutter in ages.’

Tara didn‘t look at Willow, fearing that she would give herself away. “It’s ok.” she said as she looked down at the floor. “I don’t doubt my friends.” she said, raising her head to confront the god.

Anteros frowned at the fact that she would try and lie to her lover, to him, and worst of all, to herself. “Yes you do.” he simply answered.

Tara sighed, then turned her head and rested it on Willow‘s shoulder. “Everyone has doubts Anteros, its not a sin.” she said expressing her opinion on the matter.

Anteros knew that he couldn‘t take the forceful approach with Tara that he had with Willow. Tara simply wouldn‘t respond to such tactics. Instead, he dipped his head to catch her eyes. “Why do you doubt them?” he asked.

Tara was torn. She knew that the god was trying to make a point, but she didn‘t want to admit what she felt in front of Willow. Finally, she decided that if they were going to make their love everlasting, she couldn‘t hide something like this from her. “I’m not one of them.” she softly whispered.

Willow‘s eyes widened at her lover‘s statement. Willow spun Tara around and picked up her face in her hands. “Baby, no, you are so one of us. You take care of all of us. We couldn’t get by without you. You’re essential. To everyone. Not just me.” Willow rambled, meaning every loving word she said to the blonde.

Tara closed her eyes to her lover‘s kind words. “Will, your view is just a little biased.” she told her lover.

Anteros jumped in. “Yep, there’s my point.” he said waving a finger at the blonde. “Total lack of self.” he said as he walked closer to the witch and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned her head to look at him. “Babe, you are a kick ass witch and one hell of a role model. You’re father did a damn good job of messing with your mind.” he said in a bitter tone, making it fairly obvious how he felt about Jack MaClay.

Willow‘s eyes narrowed at the mention of Tara‘s wayward father. “Jerk.” she cursed.

“Willow.” Tara admonished.

“Well…he is.” the redhead said in her defense.

Tara sighed, knowing how right her lover was. “I know.” she admitted.

Anteros backed away and began pacing again. “Anyway, you don’t believe me?” he said gesturing towards the wall once more.

An image of the two girls intimately touching came up and Anteros threw his hand up at the wall, clearly embarrassed.

Willow and Tara looked strangely at each other, then both turned to look at the God of Love.

Anteros chuckled nervously. “Ah, I could show you what Xander thinks of you, but well, that could cause serious issues in his forthcoming nuptials. Let’s just say Xander sees you as an incredibly desirable woman.” he said trying not to look directly at either girl. “That little dirtball.” he cursed. ‘My kinda guy.’ he mentally added. ‘You and Anya will be perfect together.’

“Xander.” Willow whispered and shook her head.

Anteros waved his hand again and the girls saw Tara sitting at the research table at the Magic Box and Giles staring at her proudly from behind the counter.

“Giles has never actually said it to your face, but he thinks of you as one of his daughters. You captured his heart as surely as you did Willow’s. Once he truly knew how much you loved each other, the old man was head of heels for you.” he explained.

“That’s just like Giles.” Willow stated proudly.

Anteros waved again and the girls see Anya and Tara sitting together at Xander’s apartment engrossed in conversation.

“And of course Anya, well, the ex-demon is very fond of you. Anyanka never had a real friend in 1000 years. Then you came along. All that time and she never had anyone she considered a confidant. That’s is quite an accomplishment, wouldn‘t you say?” he said with a smirk.

Another wave and the girl see Buffy standing up to Jack MaClay on Tara’s behalf.

“Lastly, there’s Buffy. I think it should have become apparent to you that you are part of her family.”

The scene changes to Buffy and Tara on a bench outside Tara’s dorm the night the slayer told Tara she wanted her to come home.

“She wanted you to come back to the house even when you two weren’t together. If you had really wanted to leave Sunnydale, she would have done anything to stop you.” he told her honestly and then motioned with his hand as the wall went back to normal.

Tara, who had been silent throughout the scenes finally spoke. “Of course. She would do anything for Willow.” she said timidly.

Anteros threw his hands up in the air then placed them on his hips and glared at her sternly. “Sweetie, stop pulling the blonde card on me. It won’t work.” he declared. “She wants you there for Willow, Dawn, and HERSELF. All three of them would be destroyed if you left.” he said truthfully.

Willow smiled, knowing the God of Love spoke the truth. ‘He’s right you know, we would.’ she mentally assure her lover.

Tara shook her head. “I know.” she said softly. “I’ve always known, I just didn’t want to believe it.” she explained with a little more confidence. “Like if I let myself, that might make it unreal.” she said, desperately trying to explain what she was feeling. “Does that make sense?” she asked as she finally looked up at her lover’s face.

Willow cupped her lover‘s face in both her hands. “You’re essential and I will spend the rest of my life proving it to you.” the redhead promised.

Anteros smiled. They‘ve had a long day, and tonight would be even longer. “Well, you two have some more to work out…but I think you need some time alone. “ he said with a wink.

The two lovers were two engrossed in each other to pay any attention to the God of Love.

“I’ll see you two later.” he said and the three of them vanished from the Magic Box.
