Poem: Alone

Postby Killin Joke » Sat May 25, 2002 8:44 pm

I think I might have posted this already as a response to someone else's poem, but it kinda got lost in that thread (probably in the archives somewhere now). Anyway, since I've showed something fanficcie already (spin on the end), I thought I'd test how you guys reply to another genre: don't know if I'm any good at the lyrical one (maybe not really at the epic one either). It struck me to be rather fitting for Willow too.

"Scared to death of darkness,

afraid to face the light

I can't see the difference

between what's wrong or right

Desolated deserts

in which my feelings dwell

The nights are cold as ice,

the days as hot as hell

Why did you desert me ?

Can't do this on my own !

Cries are heard in silence...

I find myself... alone..."

I liked your poem

:)

Xander: Buffy, this is all about fear. It's understandable, but you can't let it control you. 'Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to anger.' No wait, hold on. 'Fear leads to hate. Hate leads to the dark side.' Hold on, no, umm, 'First you get the women, then you get the money, then you...' okay, can we forget that?

Awsome poem, It really kicked. It's a little on the sad side, but other than that, I really liked it. :grin I hope you write more, you seem to be able to capture emotion in your writing and I like that.

Much Love,

Lisa

Your poem was wonderful. Very good. You were right that it ties in with Willow. Keep writing. See that you can do. Poetry is a great form of writing. And a great way to vent.

Thank you all very much for your oh so friendly feedback ! :) You don't know how much that means to me (especially since the exams are starting, and I'll be busy, not to mention stressed out for a month). Really appreciate it. I couldn't connect to the internet today, and I felt damn disconnected from the kitten/pens board. I don't resign here that long yet, but I'm addicted to you guys already /chuckle/

I like your poem, very emotional :)

Good luck with the exams, I'm in the same position myself and am starting to seriously panic :( , yet I still often find myself logging on to the Kitten/pens board- its addictive!!

KillinJoke- wonderful poem. Always happy to see another poet on the board. It was getting lonely out here, all by myself. I eagerly await your next poem.

Luck is for the ill-prepared... Thank you so much for wishing me luck, Whizz ! /chuckle/ (and for your + reaction to my poem). I've got my exam in x hours and I still got loads to learn, yet I find myself taking a break on this board... Will I ever learn ? (don't answer that retorical question) Best of success to you too, sweetie. ;)

And thanks, Drakkenfyre :) I wouldn't exactly dare to call myself a poet, just a wannabe bard, trying out all sorts of genres, amusing herself (and maybe find something I'm decent at in the process). But to say it in Gabby's words: "You're not alone." I've still got a few other poems and a couple of lyrics (or longer poems, whatever) up my sleeve, but I should take a look first if they're a bit W/T-related... They're probably not that neat, rather freaky... We'll see...
