Mini Update: Prolonging
"Are you thinking?"
One of Tara's eyes slowly opened to see Willow's questioning expression. The obvious answer to that question was easily discernible just by reading Tara's body language. The eyebrow of the opened eye slowly lifted up as the other eye followed its partner to the open position. She had been thinking very hard but she found Willow's interruption amusing.
She could feel the edges of their lives clicking into place. When she was connected to the earth and the essences she had a sixth sense about where life was moving her and how that direction factored into other people's lives. Here in this dream place she was made even more aware of herself. This awareness made it easier for her to react to Willow without reservation.
"How else are we going to get out of here?" Upon finishing her question, to which she expected to actual answer, she closed her eyes again.
Willow poked at the grass with her fingers. The level of levity that was being maintained between them was slightly odd considering the problems they were facing but she could not help but settle into it.
She redirected her ever changing thoughts to finding a solution. Her first thought was to list everything that happened so far and see what conclusion she could draw from that. This was not surprising considering her penchant for organization and order. Before she could act on her thought Tara spoke up.
"This sounds silly, but I was thinking. What if we tried to sleep?"
Willow's mouth froze just as she was forming words. She tried once again to make the words clear her mouth with no luck. Her lips just froze in another formation.
"How do you think that would help," She finally got out.
"Um, I am not sure. I guess I was just going on instinct," Tara meekly said.
"Hey, it's not like I was coming up with anything viable."
Willow could sense Tara's hesitation about her suggestion. Everything was worth consideration.
"Go on," Willow prompted.
Tara smiled, "Maybe if we..."
She cut off as an image of the two of them sitting against the tree sound asleep presented itself as if it were being projected on an invisible screen in front of them. The only word that Tara could find to describe it was a hologram.
"Oh my god," Willow said.
She reached out to try to touch the image.
"How did you do that?'
"I have no idea," Tara muttered.
She could feel the connection between the image and her own mind as if there were a translucent tread stretching between the two. She watched in amazement as Willow's hand passed right through her arm in the image.
