hey there! great update!

finally it's turning for the better! kim was right... in their time alone will they be able to realize just how important one is to the other... willow finally realizing the her kids are growing up and she needs to be there for them and she also realizes that she may really be neglecting to fill tara's other needs... tara realizes as well that she can't stay away too long... it's not only torture to them but the kids will be suffering as well as jason is clearly showing... their family is not worth giving up over this...

hope to see an update soon! i really love this story, angst and all.

Hey kittens. I started an update earlier, but my internet shut off so I lost what I was working on. Damn computer. Anyway, it's all better now so I'll proceed with the update. Also, I don't know if any of you kittens have a myspace, but mine is Myspace.com/darkwillow6 if any of you want to check out my site. It would be cool to get to know some of you that leave me really nice feedback. Anyway, here's the update, before it's too late.

RECAP FROM THE LAST UPDATE:
"Are you sure you don't want me to do that sweetie?" Tara asked, not entirely confident with Willow's cooking abilities.
"I got it. It's okay. I've been practicing," Willow assured her. "Just go watch some cartoons with Jason. He needs some Mommy time."

*******************************************************************March 13th 2006 (Update number 2 of the remaining 15)

Jason and Tara were now in the living room watching television. Every once in a while, they would laugh together and it was like music to Willow's ears. She smiled and mixed the eggs until they were scrambled and listened to her family in the living room. She felt comforted by this simple, every day thing. It was as though nothing had even happened. It seemed like Tara had been there all along. She knew better than that though. She wouldn't dare take their situation lightly.

Suddenly, a loud cry came through the white baby monitor that Tara carried everywhere with her subconciously. She jumped slightly at the sound and went upstairs to get Alexis, who was obviously hungry. While she was gone, Willow called Jason into the kitchen.
"Yes Mom?" he asked when he arrived next to the stove. She knelt down to his height and spoke to him quietly.
"Do you want to spend the night at Aunt Buffy's this weekend?"
"Okay!" Jason said excitedly. Willow put her finger to her lips to remind him to be quiet. "Why? Do you want me to be gone?" Jason asked, wondering what the catch was.
"No sweetie. Of course not. It's just that, we still need to have Mommy's birthday surprise party this weekend, and afterwards I want to take her to an place that's just for adults. Plus, I thought you would like to go visit with Aunt Buffy anyway."
"I do," Jason replied, becoming excited again.
"Okay. Well I'm going to invite her over tomorrow so that she can help me plan the party so you can visit with her then too okay?"
"Okay Mom, but won't Mommy be home tomorrow? She'll see you planning it."
"Don't worry honey. I'm going to send her somewhere tomorrow with Auntie Anya. She'll be busy all day."
"I thought you didn't like Auntie Anya Mom," Jason replied. Tara had just walked in with Alexis and paused in the doorway.
"Yeah. I thought you didn't like Auntie Anya," Tara said to Willow. Willow blushed. You know I'm fine with Anya. We're just not best friends that's all."
"So why are we talking about Auntie Anya anyway?" Tara asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You should really walk more noisily down the stairs so that I can hear you coming and talk about something else," Willow said.
"Changing the subject won't work on me," Tara said, rocking Alexis back and forth.
"I'll tell you later," Willow said. "I promise," she added.
"Okay," Tara replied, smiling. "I trust you," she continued.

Willow finished with the eggs and turned the stove off. She pulled some plates from the cabinet and began to serve them. Then, she put a piece of toast on each plate and set them on the table. Jason and Tara sat down and waited for Willow to join them.
"Do you want me to hold the baby?" Willow asked.
"It's okay. I'll hold her for a while. I missed her so much the other day," Tara said. She fed the baby while eating her own breakfast as well.
"Okay," Willow replied, taking a bite of her toast.

After breakfast, Willow and Tara took Jason to school and then returned home. They took Alexis to her crib and settled her in for a nap. Then, they went into their room and cuddled close on the bed so that they could talk.
"Happy birthday honey," Willow said quietly into Tara's ear.
"Oh. It's that time of year already?" Tara replied, not even realizing that her birthday had passed.
"How could you forget that it was your birthday?" Willow asked in amusement.
"Well... there was kind of a lot going on," she replied.
"True."
"Thank you though," Tara added.
"Do you want your present?" Willow asked excitedly.
"What did you get me?" Tara asked, returning the excitement. Willow pounced on top of her. "I like it already," Tara joked.
"Not that," Willow said, leaning down to kiss Tara on the lips. Then she sat straight up and looked down at Tara. "I'm only going to tell you the first part. You don't get to find out the rest until later."
"But it's already past my birthday," Tara protested.
"So. I'm making you wait a little longer," Willow replied.
"So what's the first part then?" Tara asked curiously.
"Tomorrow, I'm sending you to a spa for the day. I'm gonna get you all relaxed and pampered," Willow revealed.
"Really? Are you coming with me?" Tara asked hopefully.
"No. I have some things that I need to take care of here, but I'm sending Anya along with you to keep you company."
"So that's what you and Jason were talking about earlier. You're so sneaky. Thank you so much baby. I can't wait," Tara replied, sitting up so that she could kiss Willow. She then laid back down and pulled Willow with her. "I know something you could do to relax me right now," Tara said seductively.
"Really? What would that be Miss Maclay?" Willow asked, playing dumb.

Two hours later, they got showered and dressed so that they could go grocery shopping. It wasn't one of their favorite things to do, but at least they could spend more time together. Tara stapped Alex into the front seat of the cart as they walked down the first aisle. They were too busy talking to notice another cart coming toward them down the aisle. The front of their carts crashed head on.
"I'm sorry sir. I didn't mean to~" She stopped mid-sentence as she took in the man's appearance. They were silent for a few long seconds. Willow looked back and forth between Tara and this older man who did not seem to be familiar to her. "D-d-dad?" Tara questioned finally. Her stutter was back full force. Willow's jaw hit the floor. It was him. This was Tara's father. This was the man that she had heard all of these stories about. She could almost hear Tara's heart beat from a foot away from her. This was not going to be very pleasant at all.

**************************************************************************************
Sorry to leave it there kittens, but it's getting late. Plus, I love leaving these cliffhangers. I didn't even see that coming... and I'm the author. LOL. I literally just added that right now. That's what I love about this story. I can add anything I want to because I'm thinking of it as I write it instead of following one of my composition books. Well... I hope that was interesting for you. I'll explain everything in the next update. Trust me. :devil 13 updates to go! Night y'all

it's so sweet of willow to give tara a special treat on her birthday... tara seems to already love the first part of it and i'm sure she will love too the surprise birthday party... a weekend with no kids!... perhaps something that has not happened to them for quite a while... i have no idea what they could possibly do during that time! ;-)

bumping into tara's dad is a definitely unpleasant surprise... and willow doesn't even know the guy? oh boy! this is going to be interesting to read!

update soon!

Hey Kittens. I know it's been a while. I've been super busy finishing up my last few months of school. YAY! Anyway, I don't have much to say so on with the update. It's gonna be a good one. P.S.-Confused Passions will also have an update... a super long one :smug

RECAP FROM THE LAST UPDATE:
"I'm sorry sir. I didn't mean to~" She stopped mid-sentence as she took in the man's appearance. They were silent for a few long seconds. Willow looked back and forth between Tara and this older man who did not seem to be familiar to her. "D-d-dad?" Tara questioned finally. Her stutter was back full force. Willow's jaw hit the floor. It was him. This was Tara's father. This was the man that she had heard all of these stories about. She could almost hear Tara's heart beat from a foot away from her. This was not going to be very pleasant at all.

**********************************************************************April 6th 2006 (Update number 3 of the remaining 15)

The man just stood silently, taking in the sight of his daughter and... the others. Willow moved closer to Tara hoping that she could offer some comfort. She had no idea what kinds of thoughts were running through Tara’s mind right now, but they couldn’t be positive thoughts. Mr. Maclay finally acknowleged her.
“Tara,” he said simply, a hint of disgust in his voice. “I see that you haven’t changed,” he continued, running his dark eyes up and down the redhead and the children. “These yours?” he asked Tara, indicating the children.
“They’re ours,” Willow responded. “Not that it’s any of your business,” she added.
“None of my business?” he began. “I raised this girl. I didn’t do anything wrong. There’s no reason that she should have turned out to be... this way,” he said, disgusted.
“The way you brought her up had nothing to do with Tara’s lifestyle choice. And for your information... you did EVERYTHING wrong when it came to raising her. You are no longer a part of her life and you will never be a part of the lives of our children,” Willow defended.
“Is that supposed to upset me? Do you think I want to be a grandfather to these bastard children? The only good thing about these children is that I can die knowing that at least my daughter has fucked at least one man in her life,” he continued. Tara stepped forward and smacked him hard across the face. He stood silent for a moment before his head slowly began to rise back up. His eyes were clouded with rage.
“My children are not bastards. They were not conceived out of wedlock because Willow and I are married. Also, I’ve never had sex with a man. There are ways to conceive a baby without having to resort to such things,” Tara explained. Her voice was so cold and angry that it chilled Willow to the bone. She had never heard that kind of tone from Tara before. Her normally calm and kind features were wrinkled and contorted into an expression of deep anger and rage. She had a murderous fire in her eyes. Only this man could bring that out in her. Willow had never in her life seen Tara strike another person until now. She had no idea how to calm her down without upsetting her more.
‘Maybe she shouldn’t be calmed down,’ Willow thought to herself. ‘He did just call our children bastards. Also, he used to abuse my Tara. Come to think of it, why am I so calm?’ she wondered.
“How dare you lay a hand on me,” Mr. Maclay said, finally responding. It seemed as though he had not heard a word that Tara said. All he felt was her hand making contact with his face and he lost it. He took a step forward.

Seeming to sense the tension in the air, Alex began to cry from the seat in the cart. Willow was so relieved that Jason was still at school. This was the last thing that she wanted him to see. She picked up the baby, but kept her eyes on the scene that was unfolding before her. It seemed like a stand off. They both just stood, staring hatefully at each other. Willow didn’t like this at all, but what could she do? She rocked Alex as she stood a short distance from the two.

Without warning, Mr. Maclay slapped his daughter across her face. Tara felt the sting and the warm tears that began to form in her eyes. Willow took a step backward in schock. The tears fell down Tara’s cheek, but she did not falter. She stood her ground before her father.
“I’m not a child anymore. You can’t just go around hitting me whenever you like. Nobody is in control of me now but me,” Tara said.
“That isn’t true. I’ll bet she has to smack you around every once in a while to keep you in line. Isn’t that right?” he asked Willow, a smug and evil smile plastered on his face that was still reddend on one cheek where he had been hit.
“No. That’s not right. Tara doesn’t need to be kept in line. She’s an adult. Also, I’m not a scumbag like you that needs to hit women so that I can feel like I’m in charge,” she said approaching him slowly. “Do you know how long it took me to get her to trust me. She was so damaged because of you. I guess it’s a good thing that she’s such a strong woman or she’d still be waiting on you hand and foot.”
“What are you even doing here?” Tara asked out of nowhere. “You don’t belong anywhere near me and my family. You should have never come here. I’m not going to let you ruin my life so if that was the goal then you may as well turn around and go right back home.”
“Yeah. That’s true. Why are you here anyway?” Willow asked angrily.
“I came because Tara is still my daughter and I~”
“She is not your daughter. You are nothing to her. You’re just nothing in general,” Willow interrupted. “And we’re going home now,” she continued. She took the half full cart of groceries and her wife, and left the aisle where the confrontation had taken place. Mr. Maclay just stood there. His fists were clenched tightly and his whole body shook with rage. This would not be the last that she would hear of him. Nobody disrespects this man and gets away with it.

After Willow and Tara finished paying for the groceries in a tense silence, they walked out to the car and put everything in the trunk. As Willow went to put the cart back, Tara buckled Alex into her carseat and sat down in the passenger seat. When Willow returened, she opened the car door and sat down in the driver’s seat. She seemed to be in some sort of trance. She placed her hands on the steering wheel but did not start the car. She just stared ahead into nothing. Tara cleared her throat to get the redhead’s attention. When Willow did not turn around, Tara spoke.
“Please say something,” Tara begged.
“I’m so proud of you,” Willow said finally, turning to face Tara. It was only a whisper.
“For what?” Tara asked. She hadn’t expected Willow to say that of all things, especially after all that had happened in such a short time.
“You stood your ground. You didn’t let him take control of you and walk all over you,” Willow explained.
“I had help,” Tara replied, smiling softly. Willow smiled back and started the car.

As they were driving, Willow spoke again.
“That was so awful. It was like a nightmare. It’s like I have to keep convincing myself that it actually happened.”
“Right there with you,” Tara said, running a hand through her hair.
“I’ve never seen you that way,” Willow said softly. It was more to herself than to Tara.
“I know,” Tara replied, ashamed. “That’s why I never talk about him. I don’t like the way it makes me feel... or act. He’s the only person that can upset me that way,” she continued.
“I wish that had never happened. I was happier not knowing who he was. I’m afraid of what I might do to him if I see him again. The way he hurt you...” she said, trailing off.
“He’s gone now. Nothing else is going to happen. He’s out of my life for good,” Tara assured her.
“I really hope that you don’t believe it’s that easy. He didn’t come all this way to just end up going back home. We need to be on our guard,” Willow said. Her eyes involuntarily wandered to the well defined hand print on Tara’s face. She felt her stomach turn.
‘That monster,’ she thought to herself.

Soon they arrived home. It was about an hour before they had to leave to pick up Jason. They went up to their bedroom to talk some more before they had to go. Alexis was between them as they lay on the bed facing eachother. She wiggled her little arms and legs and looked back and forth between her two mommies.
“How do you feel?” Willow asked in a quiet voice.
“Scared,” Tara whispered. “Is it stupid to feel scared?”
“No baby. Not at all. He hurt you more than anyone ever has in your life... and you had to live with him,” Willow replied as she stroked Alex’s little arm. “You have every right to be afraid of him, but you can’t let him ruin your life again. You’re not his daughter anymore.”
“I know,” Tara said.

They talked for a little while longer before finally leaving to pick up Jason. When they arrived at his school, they saw him playing ‘rock-paper-scissors’ with some of his friends. They pulled up next to the sidewalk and Tara got out of the passenger seat to get him.
“Hey sweetie. It’s time to go home,” she told him.
“Okay Mommy.” He took his mother’s hand and waved to his friends.

...harsh...but i agree with willow, it's a damn good thing jason wasn't there; the last things their little boy needs is to be around tara's dad, especially when his accusing Jason's mommies of such awful things...at least alexis was too young to understand

Happy...sad...confused...angry...horny...happy...confused... I don't know how I'm feeling anymore. I just started to read your story tonight and I couldn't stop. I went throught all these emotions within 3 hrs... unbelievable!! I can't believe your are pulling this story from your arse without even knowing what's going to happend next... it sure works for ya! You are very talented...

I love the story setting... Willow and Tara as grown up with kids... And making them having issues makes me feel better. I always thought of Willow and Tara has a perfect couple...soulmates that will never fight or upset each other or being on the verge of break up. It made me sad to think about how not as perfect my relationship with my wife was compares to W/T but now I'm filled with happiness 'cause you just proved me wrong. You proved me that even the most perfect couple has its flaws and needs some work to maintain the relationship healthy.

Sex scene...wow...do I need to say more? Keep 'em coming!

Tara's father...heart wrenching... I would sooo have kicked his snob ass if I was Willow... Dark Willow should have come out!

I can't believe only 13 to go... *sniff sniff *
Tara: I am you know...

Willow: What?

Tara: Yours...

Hola kittens. This is going to be a fairly short update. Sorry. I'd hate to do this to you since this is number 4 of 15, but I promise the next one will be longer. It got kinda late without me realizing. Well, I guess I'd better start now so I have more time to write. Enjoy!

RECAP FROM THE LAST UPDATE:

*********************************************************************April 24th 2006 (Update number 4 of the remaining 15)

Even though he was only six, Jason could sense that something was not right with his mommies. They were acting wierd. It was making him more than a little anxious. The whole ride was silent. Nobody spoke one word until they arrived at the house and Willow told Jason to take his things to his room. Willow and Tara stayed outside for a few minutes to talk.
"Cheer up baby. He's not going to bother us anymore. Don't let him ruin your birthday. You're going to have fun tomorrow and you're going to love what I got you. Try to relax some. I don't want you to bury yourself back in that shell that I worked so hard to drag you out of in college," Willow said smiling. "If you need to talk to me don't you dare hesitate. There is nothing you can't tell me okay? No secrets."
"There's nothing. He just brought back a lot of memories from back then. I can't handle that. I spent all of these years trying to escape from it and then I bump right into him at a grocery store in a different state. Tell me that's a coincidence. It can't be. He looked for me."

Hmm...short but sweet. Kudos. Tara's father is still a poopy-head (but I wont dwell on that...hopefully Tara wont either.) She should concentrate on the kids and Willow and have a really great birthday.

YES!!! That was good. I am really impress how you held nothing back when it came to Willow and Tara arguing. Deep, sorrowful, pain emotions is part of everyday life. And to see them not immune to it gave me a sense of reality. But, when her dad showed up, WOW! So didn't expect that to happen. Reading on, I could close my eyes and imagine the stand-off in my mind. The rage filled eyes, the hurt, the pain, what an intense part. Anyhoo, great stuff. Sorry I didn't keep up with this, but I am now. Hope to see more soon. Smiles. =)
