The two women stood before their greatest friends, wondering how their news was to be received. They were sure that everyone would be excited and happy.
Buffy was the first one to speak. "So, you guys called us all here. Said it was all important and all that and we haven't heard either of you say a word.
Tara blushed. "Well...um...Willow and I...w-we've..."
"We've decided to get married." the redhead cut in.
"I win!" The two witches turned to look at Dawn. "Fork over my money." Reluctantly, each of the other scoobies handed the teen five bucks. She grinned. "Thank you!"
Anya glared at the engaged. "Why couldn't you two have done this sooner?" she whined. "I had money going."
Willow gaped at her friends. "You made a bet on us?!"
The ex-demon grinned. "Yes. We were all wondering how long it would take for the two of you to finally get married."
Xander grinned. "Congrats!"
"So what will you be calling yourselves?" Giles questioned. "Rosenberg-Maclay? Maclay-Rosenberg? Or will you just choose one of yours?"
The two girls smiled sheepishly. "Well..." Tara began. "Traditionally you're given your father's name when you're born right? And when you get married you take the man's name."
"But well, that's a problem here." Willow continued. " Y'know, with the fact that there is no man here. So we've decided to, well..."
Tara smiled at Giles. "You've been a wonderful father to us Giles."
The redhead grinned and with a sweeping gesture announced. "May I present to thee, the soon to be Mrs. and Mrs. Giles."
