Chapter One – Up, up and away!
“Will, are you in there?” Tara knocked on the hotel room door and waited for a moment. Receiving no answer, she slipped the card key into the socket and pushed it open, telling herself all the while that was she was doing was incredibly naughty. The bedroom was a complete mess, most likely because of Buffy. Only one of the large beds – Willow’s, obviously, Tara thought with a grin – was perfectly made and had a couple of stuffed toys set neatly on the fluffy pillows. Tara’s blue eyes lit up as she saw the necklace she had given her ex-girlfriend lying on the bedside table in a small jewellery box cushioned with cotton wool. Stepping over a suitcase, she shut the door quietly and crawled onto Willow’s bed. “Okay, this is not being very good.” She scolded herself aloud, but reached for a cuddly kitten and brought it up to her chest. “Stop it, Tara.” Tara continued, and grinned, reluctant to leave her now very comfortable position. “You’re not dating Willow anymore. You shouldn’t be in here, she asked you to return the card.”
How long she lay there snuggled up with Cuddly Miss Kitty Fantastico Tara didn’t know, but as the sun began to sink beneath the water she heard voices outside the door and a card fiddle into the lock. Panicking, the blonde rolled over and landed with a thump on the other side of the bed.
“I had a really great time.” Willow’s familiar voice said cheerfully. There was a loud scraping noise, probably Willow pushing the suitcase out of the way. Tara peered over the bed and saw a strange, pretty woman standing in the doorway, smiling at Willow with what looked like admiration. Tara felt sick with envy.
“Me too.” The stranger said in her husky, sexy voice. “Can we go out tomorrow night?”
“Sure.” Willow replied with a high giggle. “Meet in the lobby at seven?”
“Fine by me.” The door shut behind the woman and Tara jumped to her feet, her eyes filled with tears. Willow turned and let out a gasp as she saw her ex-girlfriend.
“Tara!”
“Didn’t take you long, did it?” Tara said in a voice that came out a lot harsher than she had expected.
“Wh – oh, no, Tara, she’s not – I mean, we’re not – we’re just friends.” Willow finally finished, sinking down onto Buffy’s unmade bed. “What are you doing here, anyways?”
Tara shrugged, feeling her throat choke up with sobs. “I don’t know, I guess I kind of thought that I’d made a mistake…”
“A mistake?” Willow frowned but her green eyes were lit up with hope.
“Yah, I mean – I guess, if magic means that much to you then – it hurt, what you did, but I miss you. I did miss you. But I guess that only makes one of us.” She turned and stared out of the window at the long sandy shores of LA.
“No, Tara, I told you. Carrie’s just a friend. She’s staying in the room across the hall and we decided to get together.”
“Thanks but I don’t need a complete story of how you met your second gay love.” Tara retorted furiously. Her hand shot to her mouth. She had never, ever imagined herself saying anything like that. Willow looked hurt and confused.
“Tara – I can’t seem to be saying anything to make this better but – I swear, Carrie is just a friend. It’s you I love. I barely know her. And if you want to make things up then…”
Tara lowered her head, her long blonde hair falling over her face. “I – I don’t know.”
Willow’s lower lip quivered and she jumped up off the bed as Tara made towards the door. “No! I mean, please don’t go. Look, if you want, I’ll never see Carrie again. I’ll – I’ll – I’ll tell her I don’t want to be friends. Anything. Just – please don’t go.”
Tara smiled weakly. “I don’t want you to break your friendship. If that’s what it is then…”
“It is, it is!” Willow exclaimed. She reached out a hand and touched Tara lovingly on the shoulder. Tara reached up her own hand and grasped Willow’s, smiling.
“Okay.”
“O – okay? As in, okay you believe me? Or okay as in…” She trailed off, not wanting to jinx it. Tara shook her head, still smiling happily despite the single tear that had escaped down her cheek.
“No. Okay as in – I guess we could make things work. If you’re willing to try again.”
“I am.” Willow felt her heart float up to the ceiling. “Oh, I am. So much.” She leant forwards and gave her new girlfriend a tender kiss on the lips. Tara responded eagerly for a couple of seconds but suddenly pulled away.
“Wait. No.”
“No?” Willow looked crushed.
“Let’s make it special.” Tara winked mischievously. “Let’s go away. On holiday. A – sort of honeymoon.”
“Honeymoon.” Willow repeated. She beamed. “I like that.”

“I cannot believe you guys are back together! This is so huge!” Dawn exclaimed with an excited yelp as she watched Willow and Tara rush around the hotel room, throwing things into an empty suitcase. “And a honeymoon. That is so cute!”
Willow grinned and grabbed Tara’s hand. “Tare-bear’s idea. And I personally think it’s brilliant.”
“Me too.” Buffy chirped from the corner of the room where she was sprawled out on the single armchair. “So, I get the whole room to myself now? Cool.”
“Not so fast.” Willow warned her best friend. “Xander and An wanted a break as well so they’ve nicked Tara and Dawn’s room. You get baby sis in with you.”
“Baby!” Dawn was indignant, but her eyes still shone with happiness for the reunited couple. “I am not a baby.”
“No fair.” Buffy complained, sounding more and more like a five-year-old. “She snores.”
“Do not!”
“Do too!”
Willow rolled her eyes. “Hey!”
Dawn and Buffy stopped in the middle of their argument, Buffy’s arm raised threateningly and Dawn’s bag hanging from her hand warningly.
“I am not your mother so don’t make me send you both to bed.” Willow continued. “Now, we just have to get a couple of Tara’s things and then we’re off. I called the owner on Tuesday and it should be ready by the time we get there.” She gave the blonde a quick kiss on the lips. “Hon, I’ll just go and call Xander, say we're ready to be taken to the airport now."
“Don't be too long.” Tara reluctantly let go of Willow’s hand. Dawn held her own hands to her chest and let out a coo.
“Aw, you guys are so adorable! This is the best day of my life.”
“What about the day they invented cherry Jell-O?” Buffy piped up. Dawn shrugged.
“Apart from then.”

Tara and Willow walked through the pretty grounds of their rented cottage in the countryside of England, looking around in awe at the wild flowers. “It’s so much more beautiful than Sunnydale or LA even.” Tara said softly, kneeling down and plucking a single bluebell from a mossy blanket. “Now I understand why Giles loves England so much.”
“Uh-huh.” Willow hadn’t noticed their surroundings since they had arrived two days ago. She had been too busy gazing at her girlfriend with rapture.
“Will, look at the view.” Tara blushed as she realised Willow was still staring at her. “It’s gorgeous.”
“Not as gorgeous as you, sweetie.” Willow whispered, stroking Tara’s arm. “Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?”
Tara blushed even redder, if that were possible. “Really?”
“Oh, yeah.” Willow said with such sincerity. “You are by far the most beautiful woman on this planet.” And she too bent down and scooped up a handful of bluebells. “Tare-bear… I was wondering – there’s this new spell – and it’s nothing big, and there is no way it can hurt anybody – in fact, from what I’ve read it’s really adorable – and I mean, if it’s okay…”
“Will!” Tara butted in before the redhead could go off on another babbling spree. “I – I don’t want you to ask permission to use magic. As long as it isn’t dark things, then – and as long as it isn’t to solve problems like Buffy then…”
Willow smiled. “Okay.”
She whispered a single Latin word under her breath. The clouds in the blue sky floated into nothingness, the trees swayed from a slight breeze, and the large bouquet of bluebells she was holding burst, showering the old new couple with tiny blue petals.

and I'm not sure when I can write let alone post chapter 5. I'd like to say sorry to "daddykat" and anyone else who got confuzzled by where the gang were at the beginning - I confuzzled myself a bit as well, I just had this instinct to place them in a hotel. Well, here's why they were where they were:
