This poem was inspired by a fic that I read on June 12th 2005 called Ends Of The Earth by jadeo0 on Fanfiction.net. It doesn't refer specifically to Willow and Tara, but you can see how it relates to many of their situations. So here goes nothing...

There is no escape from pain
It seeks you around every corner
It's the price you pay
To be allowed to live on such a glorious earth
If the world were filled with only happiness
It would not be something so relished
Pain is a necessary evil
It determines one's weakness or strength
True pleasure would not exist without truer pain
And so we suffer
We take in all of the pain that our bodies can withstand
Just because there may be true pleasure soon after
There may be an ecstacy worth all known torture
We spend all of our lives racing toward this moment
Only it is not one moment
But many
Your heart can only know the deepest love
After it has endured the deepest pain
And defeated it
Leaving you unbroken
And in the end
Only you can determine if it was worth all of the struggle
For those few moments
