Okay, that was nice, especially with Willow describing Tara as 'Sleeping Beauty'. I'm interested in the fact that you gave Willow the middle name 'Danielle'. I also did that in my first fic.

One question; is 'Pancakes' one of Tara's pet names for her girlfriend, or was she just saying random words in her sleep?

Tee hee. Let's ALL go to Switzerland! :heart

Nick - Thank! :grin I don't think that there'll be much more... :spin but there will be a sequel. Yuh-huh. :bounce

chilled monkey - Actually, I think that Danielle is Willow's middle name. I can't remember where I heard it but I'm pretty sure that they did give her that in Buffy. I think.:confused As for the pancakes... she was saying that because, well, they like pancakes. And she's an expert pancake maker, tee hee.

Piper - No one gives my girl roses without me giving her more. *offers a dozen red roses and of course the chocolate smothered kisses* :p

That's all for a while, Kittens, I'm afraid. I am absolutely completely and utterly stuck for what to do in the next update. I think that this fic is nearing it's end. :cry Plus, I can't update, because I'll be in Switzerland with Nick and Stef and Piper. :lol

Tara: No, I-I understand. You have to be with the person you l-love.

Willow: I am.

Final Chapter (sob)

Postby 4evaWill » Thu Jan 02, 2003 5:24 pm

Kittens, I apologize if you think that this fic has been rushed towards the end. A month is a long time to go on holiday, I should know, I have – and it does get boring after a while. I didn’t want our girls to sit around being bored because they’ve done everything. Also, I have exams coming up, and I really need to get some studying done because my results last time weren’t… well, need I say more? I apologize profusely, and there will be a sequel with marriage, parenthood etcetera. Oh, and (I know, I know, I’m babbling, someone stop me) I wanna thank you all so much for reading and responding to the fic, it really means a lot to me. So, here goes… the final (and short) chapter.

For Piper, who inspired me and helped me through this entire fic – the co-writer, and Stef, who’s made me feel not so alone with my writer’s block!

CHAPTER 18 – The Stars

The stars are bright tonight;

I can see them in your eyes;

They’re dazzling me with love and I know that truly you are mine;

Whatever happened before;

Is gone and forever gone;

The stars that shine above us;

I can’t believe that I finally found you.

The small, bright stars dotted the midnight sky. The moon, fuller than ever, shone above them, proudly casting light over the couple. Music from the lodge was soft and slow, and in the twilight they danced, close to each other, their bare feet touching the white ground, not feeling the icy cold of the snow but the warmth of their own bodies touching. Their nightgowns blew around them in a soft, cool breeze, and they pressed against each other to shelter from it. The small clearing, their clearing, was familiar to them now, like an old friend, and one of them pulled away to greet it, spreading her arms wide, spinning around in circles and giggling lightly. The other watched, a hand brushing back a tendril of hair now and then, a soft smile on her lips, swaying her body in time to the music without realizing. Her eyes flickered upwards, and she stared at the deep navy blanket above, entranced by the inviting, beautiful stars. She allowed herself to be taken into her lover’s arms once more, and rested her head against a shoulder, weary from their wonderful experience in a new, completely different world. It was almost time to go, and as sad as she was, she knew that they had to move on at some time, and they were not only moving on but upwards, to the next level… to a family. As she felt her lover’s lips press against the back of her head, she looked upwards, and stared into the shining green eyes. The stars were reflected in them. Her heart gave another jolt and Tara Maclay allowed herself to be caught up in the fiery passion of that kiss, the one that flooded memories into her brain. Her heart smiled and her soul cried out in happiness as their bodies moved and their lips touched, and she couldn’t have felt more complete if she had tried. This was how it was supposed to be, this was what was meant to be. Willow Rosenberg, her one and only, the love of her life, soon to be not only wife but mother of child. Tara felt a tear slip down her cheek, a tear of joy for all their wonderful moments and a tear of sadness for their unhappy times, when they hadn’t been together, when things had been tough, when both felt that they could no longer cope. She allowed Willow to wipe that tear away as they danced, knowing that they would never be alone again, that she was with her Everything and that things were better. Things were always better. She pulled away, reluctantly, as the music faded out, but still grasped her lover’s hand. And then she led Willow, down the embankment, the crisp snow cool and fresh against her bare feet, feeling the light of the moon against her skin, making her glow with radiance. And they walked, in complete silence, hand in hand, eyes sparkling with the stars above, thinking about nothing but each other, and that future that seemed so bright after their dark pasts alone. And they walked with a spring to their step, and they danced in the moonlight, and their kisses of passion made the stars smile down at them and the angels praise the world for this wonderful couple.

The stars are bright tonight.

The End

Thank you, Kittens!

Cath :angel

Tara: No, I-I understand. You have to be with the person you l-love.

Willow: I am.

Oh my Gawdess!!! This last was lovely and beyond.:love :love :love :love :love

I've no desire to be an ungrateful grasping kitten...but...

...I so desire an epilogue.;)

One might think this is because I want:

(A) just a general continuation of a great fic;

(B) to see how the baby-gift unfolds;

(C) how the Des/Gracie thing might tie in;

(D) THE SCOOBIE REACTION TO PHOTOS OF NAKED NIGHT SKIING!!!

(Whoopsie! Hope I didn't give the answer away on that one:laugh ) Actually if answers were both (B) and (D) this would certainly be counted as correct (L-SATS allow for 2 or more possible answers:) )

All kidding aside: No one deserves a respite more than you. I can't imagine having the dedication you've shown. I never was left wanting for an update.:heart If you take time to smell the roses...I'll cheer!:party :party :party :party :party

My holiday was so much better for you and this. Add a stroke to your Karmic tally!~~~TYSM...Suse (CLW)

Cath,

This work is entirely yours and you should be taking a very deep bow for it. :clap Here's to a sequel - but don't rush yourself...we'll wait...well, some of us will wait, patiently, while certain others will just sit quietly in the dark, chewing our nails, wide-eyed, pale, one foot relentlessly tapping, wondering when you'll be back...:(

Ahem. But I digress. I'm wondering if you know how happy your devoted Spoon is? She was humming some tune about a dragon earlier, drove everyone crazy with it. I hear, too, she's building something to wipe out timezones completely. In fact, I think I saw her trudging off in your direction a little while ago, beaming, muttering something about how bright the stars were...had something tucked under her arm...wonder what it could be...? :hmm

I've adored this from beginning to end and all the lovely bits in between. :heart

To the next level, then? :wink

Much love and chocolate (the best I have to offer),

Piper

The ending was beautiful, very well done. Consistently, this fic has been very sweet and enjoyable. I love it.

By the way, you were right about Willow's middle name. It's in the shooting script for 'Bad Girls'. In it, Willow says "If my parents hadn't settled on Danielle, Danger would be my middle name". I couldn't remember where I had gotten it from.

Hey there, Kittens - just to do personal replies and also to say that a sequel is up. It's called:

Home is where the heart is

Suse - Wow, thank you so much. :heart Your feedback means a really lot to me. And as for your, well, reasons to see an epilogue, I have to say... :whistle (D) is - on the spot. I'm very much looking forwards to writing that part! :grin Ah, the looks on their faces. :laugh

Piper - No sitting in the dark, please, otherwize I'll just have to come and... hit you with a pillow and drag you out. :thud That something tucked under your arm... :bounce :bounce :bounce What is it? What is it? What is it? Offering a gazillion snugglies and kisses here in exchange for it...:pray

chilled monkey - Thank you... :blush Your consistent feedback has meant a real lot to me, seriously. :heart As for Willow's middle name... :bounce Yay! I was right for once in my life! :shock What's happening to me?

Stef - Stef! It's Stef! You're back! :wave Thank you! I'm with the !s now! :rollin Don't ask why I'm rollin. I just feel like it. :p

Edited to say I really need to cut back on the emoticons!

Cath :angel

Tara: No, I-I understand. You have to be with the person you l-love.

Willow: I am.

It was lovely! Oh, I just have to point a few things out I loved the most:

* the bikinis!
* the nursery rhyme, I loved the "Can we have a nursery rhyme too?"
* the gift from Buffy

It was amazing and lovely!
When things fall apart, you put them back together. Not give up.
