Stay evil from Willow, evil demon you!

So there, that will do it :D

Why was Angel there? They just left that dead demon ? At least check if it has usefull info and make sure it STAYS dead. How is Willow ever going to explain that mess, never mind paying to get it fixed again... :(

Who killed that deamon anyway ? Angel would be the obvious answer but why did he wait so damned long ? I suppose Willow could have something to do with it, if she had enough strength left.

Besides, who/what is that deamon and what does he want from Willow ? Or maybe he wants to force dark magic into her, making her go all blacky. If so, what would be the point ?

Suprising that Tara isn't gasping for breath after that run :) I know Buffy has no problem with high-speed running but Tara... guess she was rather motivated :) . Well at least Willow is consious again, doesn't nessecarely mean she's okay though... might take some time for her to recover.

Can't evil things go after Buffy or Dawn for a change ? Just have them stay away from my two favourite witches already.

Good thing I was slow on reading this so I avoided the cliffhanger by reading two updates at once, heh.

Update to follow, but replies first. :)

pikescoob: I was kind of worried about the fight scene. Wasn't sure if it would be vivid enough. I can now rest easier knowing it was ok. ;) The Lord of the Rings was great, thanks for asking!!

CHAPTER SEVEN

Safely in their hotel the gang headed off to bed. It had been another long and exhausting day and all anyone wanted to do was sleep, especially Willow, who was still feeling drained from her encounter. She and Tara were the first to get settled in. Willow borrowed some pajamas from Tara, and as they changed clothes they were both careful not to sneak more than just a few glances at the other. Tara pulled back the covers on the bed and they lay down next to each other. Willow wanted to be close to Tara, but wasn’t sure of her boundaries yet. She breathed a sigh of relief as she felt Tara scoot closer and wrap an arm around her waist. They lay in silence for a while, each lost in their own thoughts. Finally, Tara broke the silence.

“I thought I had lost you tonight.” She softly whispered.

Willow turned her head to look into the eyes of the person she loved more than anything in the world. “I know. I thought I had lost myself tonight.” She replied just as quietly.

“When I saw you lying on the floor, trying to protect yourself, I could see how weak you were. My heart stopped. All I could think about was how I had found you again, how we had found each other again, and we were going to be ripped apart by some sick twist of fate. I don’t know what I would have done if…” she trailed off, the memory of almost losing the love of her life still too fresh in her mind.

Willow could not respond for a moment. When she did, she said “When I felt myself getting weaker, I thought that was it. He was so powerful, and I haven’t used magic in so long. I thought I would never see you again. I kept picturing you in my mind. I cried out to you in my thoughts, telling you how sorry I was and that I loved you.”

“I felt you.” Tara said. “I felt the pain you were in, and I knew we had to get to you. I was so scared.”

“I was too. That thing…it almost…the things he said…” she couldn’t finish. The reality of what had happened, and what would have happened had Buffy and Tara not shown up finally sinking in. Silent tears fell down her cheeks.

Tara pulled her closer to her body, and wiped the tears away. “Shhh.” She said. “We don’t have to talk about it now. Just rest. You need rest. We can talk in the morning. Just rest.”

Willow nodded her head and both girls closed their eyes. They drifted off to sleep, not knowing what lay ahead of them. They knew they had many things to discover, and that it wasn’t over yet, but they let all thoughts fade from their minds as they lay in each other’s arms. Here they were safe. Together they created their own safe haven. Nothing could harm them when they were together.

Buffy sat on the couch in the front room of their suite. She had been resting there while Dawn showered, allowing Willow and Tara the time they needed after the night’s events. She kept replaying what had happened over and over in her mind. Her thoughts were broken as Dawn emerged from the bathroom.

“Hey.” She said.

“Hey. Aren’t you going to bed?” Dawn asked.

“I wanted to give them some time to… you know… it’s been a rough night and all.”

“Yeah, I know. Buffy, what happened? Who killed that thing?”

“I don’t know what happened, but I think I have an idea. Dawn, I need to go take care of something. Will you be alright?”

“Yeah. I’m gonna go to sleep.”

“Ok. I’ll see you in the morning. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.” Dawn replied as she headed into the bedroom, and Buffy headed out the door.

As she approached his office, Buffy saw Angel locking up the front door.

“Hey.” She said.

“Buffy. Hey.” Angel replied. He finished locking up and walked over to her. “Everything ok?” he asked.

“Yeah, for the time being. I just came by to thank you.”

“Thank me?” he said, a questioning look cross his face.

“I know it was you that killed that… whatever it was. How did you know?”

“Cordelia.” He answered. “She had a vision.”

“What did she see?”

“Let’s just say that it told her I needed to get to Willow’s apartment fast. Did you find out why it was after Willow?”

“Not yet. We’re going to talk in the morning. She’s really drained.”

“Yeah.” He said. They were both silent for a while. Neither one knew what to say.

“I’d better get back.” Buffy finally said.

She turned and started walking away. After a few feet she turned around and called out to Angel’s retreating figure. “Angel.” He turned. “Thanks again.”

“Anytime, Buffy.” He flashed a smile as they went their separate ways again.

Awww... Tara and Willow comforting each other after the night's horrors...how sweet.

Good thing Angel responded so quickly to Cordy's vision. I'm wondering if Buffy could have killed that demon if she knew how though... I didn't exactly like Buffy going out to talk to Angel, struck me as not too smart so soon after an attack.

Ah well, they're all alright... let the talking begin :)

No worries about the update being short cuz I know all about the work suckage thing so it's all good :D Very sweet interaction between W/T. Sorry, no update yet. Had to work late tonight.. then brought some work home to top it off. :rage Don't get me wrong. I love my work.. it's a family business.. but sometimes working for your dad just... SUCKS!!! Aaaanyway.. onto some replies.

Nickole: I'm so glad you liked the update. It was so short that I wasn't sure I would be able to convey everything I wanted to in it, but I guess it worked. Smoochies, you say? There could be some here in the not so distant future.. :)

Stef: Thank God for Cordy and her visions! I shudder to think what could have happened.. so I just won't.

Grimmy: Glad you thought it was sweet. Sorry you didn't really like the Angel part. I'm not sure how much more he will be in this fic, so I wanted them to be able to kinda say their goodbyes.. and I have no idea if that made sense. Anyway.. thanks for still reading, and for the feedback!

Hannah: Glad you liked! I smile every time you leave a comment about your gf. It's just so darn sweet!! :)

Michelle: Thanks for the comments. I love my job, but sometimes I just wish I could be a bum and go live on a beach somewhere.. now that would be the life!! Really glad you liked the update. Thanks for continuing to read!!

I am now off to work on the next part. Hope to have it up soon! Have a great night, everyone! :wave

Final Chapter

Postby sunspud » Thu Dec 19, 2002 8:25 am

Well guys, here it is. I decided to go ahead and end the story here. I hope everyone is satisified with the ending. I am contemplating on writing a second part... one without bad guys... just W/T goodness as they build their relationship back up. Whaddaya think?? Thank you all so much for reading. You really made my first attempt an enjoyable one!! Oh, and Nickole, you give great hugs! Thanks! :)

Before I post the update, I wanted to share something with you all. A friend of mine sent me this excerpt from a poem, and it really touched me. It made me think of Tara, and I hope you can see why. It's from "Creed" by Mary Ashely Townsend.

I believe if I should die,

And you should kiss my eyelids when I lie

Cold, dead, and dumb to all the world contains,

The folded orbs would open at thy breath,

And, from its exile in the isles of death,

Life would come gladly back along my veins.

Ahhh.. that just really touched me.

Ok, onto the final chapter!! Enjoy!

Title: Home

Author: Brandi

Disclaimer: These characters don’t belong to me. If they did, I’d be much happier, but I must give all credit to Joss, ME, etc.

Feedback: Pretty please? With Tara on top?

Pairings: W/T

Rating: Upped the rating to PG-13.. wasn't sure so, just being safe.

Summary: I’m gonna say this is mostly an AU fic. References will be made to the horror that was Season Six, but seeing as how I didn’t like that ending I had this idea rolling around in my head for a while. It’s set somewhere after Gone. Willow ended up leaving Sunnydale after the events surrounding the car accident. No one has seen or heard from her in six months. Then, one day Buffy gets a call from Angel…

CHAPTER EIGHT

The sunlight filtered in through the tightly drawn curtains casting small shadows over the half abandoned room. It’s only two occupants lay curled together on the bed under a heap of covers. Tara lay with her head resting in the crook of Willow’s neck, her golden tresses splayed out on the pillow behind her. She sighed contentedly as she began to stir. Opening her eyes, a broad grin spread across her face as she thought about how lucky she was to be here lying in the arms of the only person she’d ever truly loved. She lifted her head to look at the clock. 12:02, it read. She stared down at the beauty next to her, wondering if she should wake her, or let her sleep more. Deciding that she could not go another minute without seeing the beautiful green eyes beneath the closed lids, she gently spoke.

“Will, sweetie, it’s time to get up.” She whispered, as she tucked a stray piece of red hair behind an adorable ear.

Willow scrunched her face up, and buried her head into Tara’s shoulder. “Mmmm.. don’t wanna.” She mumbled.

“It’s after 12:00, sleepyhead. Don’t you wanna wake up? For me? I miss your beautiful eyes.”

She felt Willow smile against her shoulder as she said the last words. Slowly, Willow opened her eyes, and lifted her head, locking them with the blue ones gazing back at her. “Anything for you.” She said.

Tara once again lost herself in the eyes of the redheaded beauty. That always seems to happen, she thought. Her eyes lingered for a moment longer, and then drifted down to the red lips that were curled up in Willow’s cute smile. She unconsciously licked her lips as thoughts of how good those lips had felt against hers after so long entered her thoughts. She closed her eyes as the images flooded her mind. It had been such a brief kiss, but it had felt so wonderful. Like Heaven.

Willow stared up at Tara. She saw Tara’s pink tongue dart out to wet her lips, and she gulped. Oh my… Taratongue. She saw Tara close her eyes, and her breathing quickened, taking in the absolute beauty before her. As Tara’s eyes opened, and they were once again lost in each other, she reached up and caressed the baby soft cheek. Careful not to move too quickly, in case this was something Tara didn’t want, she slowly slid her hand to the back of Tara’s neck and gently pulled her down.

Their lips met in tender, soft caresses, over and over. Neither girl pushing; neither girl asking;

Simply enjoying the feeling of their lips dancing a slow dance. Ever so gently, Tara traced Willow’s bottom lip with her tongue. She felt Willow shudder beneath her, and she answered with the same. Slowly, Willow’s lips parted and she met Tara’s tongue with her own. Both girls felt light headed as they luxuriated in the feeling. Willow’s grip tightened on Tara’s neck. She pulled her in closer as their kiss became more passionate. Their slow dance had now become a fast frenzy as their tongues tried to keep up with the pace of their fast beating hearts. For lack of oxygen they pulled apart, placing a few soft pecks as they rested their heads close together on the pillow.

When her breathing returned to normal Willow said, “Wow. That was…”

“Amazing.” Tara finished for her.

“Yeah, amazing.” Willow smiled at her love.

“We should get up.” Tara sighed.

“Do we have to? Can’t we just stay here?” said Willow, her lips forming a pout.

“You know I would love to, sweetie, but I think everyone’s expecting you. You’re supposed to tell us what happened, remember?”

“I know. You’re right. I guess we should get up then.” Willow started to slip out from underneath the covers, but felt Tara tug on her arm. Turning back, she was met with the lips of her lover once more.

Tara pulled back and whispered, “I love you.”

“I love you too, baby.”

The girls got dressed and made their way into the front room. When they entered, they saw Buffy making some sandwiches at the small kitchen counter. Dawn, Xander, and Anya were all seated on the couch watching TV.

As she saw the girls enter, Buffy looked up and said, “Morning sleepyheads. We didn’t think you were ever going to get up. Sleep well?” Buffy asked as she nudged Willow when she walked by.

“Yes, we slept very well, thank you.” Replied Willow, giving the slayer a playful smirk.

Tara smiled at the interaction between the two best friends. It had been so long since she’d last seen it. “You could have woken us up you know.” She said.

“We thought about it, but we decided you probably needed the rest. Plus, you just looked so cute all snuggled together.” She gave Tara a wink and watched the blonde smile happily in response. “Are you guys hungry? I’m almost done with the sandwiches.”

“Starved.” Said Willow. “How about we eat, and then I’ll tell you guys about last night?”

“Sounds good to me.”

The gang happily chatted as they ate their lunch. Dawn told Willow about what classes she would be taking during her first year of high school. Xander talked about the construction of the new school. Anya talked about the Magic Box and all the wonderful money she was making. She didn’t hesitate to mention that she had closed down the shop when they had set out to find Willow. Buffy talked about slaying, and how they had defeated the “Empire of the Nerds.” Tara also talked about the classes she would be taking during the next semester.

When they finished their lunch, Willow leaned back on the couch and rested her head on the armrest. “I don’t think I’ve ate that much food in the past six months.”

“You’ll be eating plenty more of it, so get used to it.” Tara replied, giving her love a mock glare.

“Yes ma’am.” Willow said as she pulled Tara down, allowing her to rest her head on her shoulder. “Well, I guess I should get on with the story telling.”

The group got comfortable as Willow began her tale.

Willow closed the front door after she said goodbye to Tara. She made her way into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water. As she made her way to the bedroom she suddenly felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. A cold chill had entered the room. She thought something must be wrong with the air, but quickly dismissed that thought as she felt a powerful presence enter the room. Turning around, she saw a figure clad in black. Startled, she dropped her glass of water, and it fell to the floor with a thud, it’s contents spilling over the carpet.

“W-what do you want?” she asked as she backed away from the creature.

The thing stared at her for a minute before replying. “Your power,” Was all it said.

“I don’t do magic anymore. I have nothing for you.”

“You don’t have to cast to have power, witch. I can smell the power inside you, and I want it. You are the last. With your power, my master will rise once again, and the earth will tremble at his feet.” The creature hissed. It moved towards her with a menacing step.

Willow could back up no further as she had run into the wall. She stared wide-eyed at the creature, fear gripping her heart. It was only a few feet away now. Oh God, she thought. Suddenly, the creature stopped. It stood still for a moment, as if contemplating what it was going to do. Then, slowly it raised its palms and pointed them at Willow. She saw a green energy begin to form between its hands, but before she could do anything it shot out and struck her in the chest. Falling to the floor, she reached within herself and focused her thoughts. She could only think of one thing to do. She pulled on the power within her that had been untainted by her plunge into the dark arts. Focusing the power, she encased herself in its protective strength just as the creature struck at her again.

The green energy was not repelled, but it did not reach her either. The creature growled in anger and redoubled its efforts, pouring its energy onto the barrier between it and its goal. Willow knew she couldn’t fend him off for long, but she had to try. She was out of practice. She was weak, and she knew he would break through the barrier eventually.

Thoughts of Tara entered her mind. She had just gotten her back, and now she was going to die. Oh Tara, she thought. Baby, I’m so sorry. I love you so much. Please forgive me. I can’t fight him. He’s too strong. Her thoughts trailed off and all she could focus on was the creature looming over her, and her shield of protection slowly fading.

“The next thing I remember is waking up out in the hallway.” Willow finished. She looked at everyone’s faces as they absorbed what she had told them.

“Oh, baby. I’m so sorry.” Tara was the first to reply. She had tears running down her cheeks. Willow tightened her arms around her and kissed the top of her head.

“I’m ok, baby. I’m right here. You guys saved me.” She smiled.

“God, Willow, that must have been horrible.” Dawn said.

“I’m glad you’re ok, Will. I’m sorry I wasn’t much help. Thank God Angel showed up.” Buffy said.

“It’s not your fault, Buffy. That thing… it said I was the last. I think it had taken the power of many witches, which is probably why it was so strong.” Willow said, offering comforting words to her guilt stricken friend.

Xander sat in silence on the floor next to Anya. He could think of nothing to say that hadn’t already been said. He was just glad to have his best friend back, and in one piece. “Let’s go home.” He offered.

“Yes, let’s go home. I feel the need to count my money.” Anya stated. She squeezed Xander’s arm, the one she had grabbed onto while listening to Willow’s story. She may not have gotten along with the redhead, but she certainly didn’t want to see her die. She was glad that Willow was ok, and now she wanted to go home.

“I think I like the sound of that.” Said Buffy.

Tara looked up at Willow. She entwined her fingers with the ones resting on her stomach. “Wanna go home, Will?” she asked, giving the fingers a loving squeeze.

Willow smiled down at the girl in her lap. She felt so loved in that moment. She had dreamed of going back, but never really thought the day would come. She leaned her head towards Tara’s, and whispered, “Home,” before their lips touched. She conveyed her answer, and her love through the kiss, and both girls knew that in that moment, they were already home.

THE END

Aaawww... how sweeeet. Good thing the scoobies let them sleep, no interruptions wanted, heh. So that was the pesky threat Lorne talked about, got that handled then... for now. Nothing stopping whatever 'master' that demon was talking about to sic another demon on our girls.

Willow would be wise to learn some light-magic spells, if only for defense. Demons and their like will continue to be drawn to her I fear.

As for Angel, it's not that I dislike him it's more like not trusting him. I've never bought into the Angel/Angelious much, I just don't trust the person :) Him sneaking in and out while saving the scoobs didn't exactly help either. Why did he sneak out ? He could easily have helped them and stayed, no shame in helping scoobies :)

Nice ending!

Bravo !...and my timing was great. I just discovered your wonderful story at it's conclusion. [I was spared the anxious momnets of waiting for posts.] I truly enjoyed your story...glad I decided to read it. I'm very turned off by all the overkill regarding Willow and the dark magic. Very pleased that you did not dwell on it and that the two soul-mates reunited so sweetly and quickly. I hope you will have another fic soon. P.S. I'm a real sucker for the morning scenes and yours was warm and sweet...just the way I like em.
