Straight, gay, part demon, werewolf as boyfriend -- there's a lot of information being thrown about in their discussion. I am glad they didn't beat around the bush, and managed to come to an understanding. On the one hand I would have wanted to eavesdrop on Willow and Oz's conversation, but on the other hand it was probably fairly painless and straightforward. Nice to see Tara being quietly assertive, the weeklong cooling off period and the declaration at the end was just right. Thanks for sharing, Susan.

Le sigh. What a wonderful way to wrap up the story! I agree, I'm glad Willow immediately went and begged forgiveness and then broke up with Oz. And her reaction to Tara's revelation is so cute! "And that whole thing about you being part-demon…so not intimidated, missy. Been there, done that." But I think her response to Tara's concerns is too sweet: "I know you, Tara. I don't care how many horns or tails or warts you grow, I doubt you could ever be evil. I know for a fact there are good demons and if you are a demon, I'm sure you're one of the bestest." It just makes me go "Awwww..." Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful story with us. This update just made my morning a little brighter.

Hey, thanks again for the lovely feedback.

I thought about Willow going to talk to Xander again or talking to Buffy, but I figured this was something they really needed to settle between themselves. And yes, honesty does work and I figured that Willow needed to take responsibility for her own actions, which is the Wiccan way.

By the way, this is part of a contest on Live Journal. If you really liked the story, vote for it. Or better yet, read the other entries and vote for the one you feel really captures the best Willow characterization.

Susan,
As I said, I was worried that there would be days of longing and angst-ridden dyspepsia ahead for Willow and Tara following Willow's unplanned duplicity.
Your chronicling of Willow doing the right thing and abjectly prostrating herself at Tara's feet and begging forgiveness seeking a chance to explain her actions.
As so often happens, we get swept up in a tidal wave of emotions and events happen on top of one another in such a way as to make rational thought irrelevant or nigh on impossible.
Willow found herself in not one but two of those situations being seduced by the allure of Oz's rock star aura and then by the sensitive and alluring calling of her true love in Tara.
She made it clear to Tara that she hadn't planned to string either of them along but had already considered herself separated from Oz emotionally if not formally.
In her own mind, Willow felt it was right and was confident that she would find bliss and contentment which had been absent with Oz if she walked down the path with Tara and discovered together where it led.
She accepted the fact that she needed to place closure upon her relationship with Oz before Tara would allow her to fully commit to their union.
As othersd have stated how cute was the scene where Willow said to Tara that she wasn't intimidated by Tara's assertion that she would manifest into a demon next year.
That is the basis of unconditional love that Willow reassured Tara that she could have any manner of demony parts and she still would be the Mother Teresa of demons.
So, I loved this story as a whole and am glad of the happy ending so thanks, Susan.
Best to yours,
Blayne
